This was my second time stopping by because I wanted to try their banana pudding matcha. I ordered it at 50% sweetness, and it was good! The banana pudding itself was quite thick. They provide a small spoon, but I wasn't really sure whether I was supposed to eat the pudding first, mix it into the drink, or just drink it as-is. I ended up simply drinking the matcha until most of the banana pudding settled toward the bottom. At that point, it was pretty difficult to scoop it out with the spoon since it was all the way at the bottom. Regardless, I enjoyed the flavor. They even put a banana chip on top. My only complaint is the price--it's $8, which feels pretty steep for a drink. For me, it's definitely more of an occasional treat. Service was fast, and since I came on a weekday afternoon, it wasn't too crowded. One thing I do want to mention is the condition of the Dunhuang Shopping Center parking garage. I know this isn't the shop's fault, but the garage had a terrible sewage smell when I visited. It had also been raining, and there was quite a lot of standing water, along with overflowing trash. The smell was unpleasant. Hopefully, the shopping center management can address these issues because the condition of the garage can definitely affect the overall experience for customers and businesses there.
Overall a good experience. Guava matcha cloud ($8.99) only comes in 12 oz and was told there's no sweetener (it was sweet already from pink guava). Hojicha einspanner ($7.95 for 12 oz) was also great - roasted and crispy rice on top makes a nice crunch without adding any tree-nut crunches for the tree-nut allergens peeps. I got light sweet (can't remember if it was 10 or 25% lowest here) and I thought it's good enough for me. Mind you, I'm someone who likes my coffee as dark as my soul on a normal day. Guava matcha cloud is definitely sweet but a nice balance since I had another drink. Ambiance is pretty laid back. Reminds me of another bubble tea in Houston that closed down but less modern and more cozy, warm ambiance. At first, it seems like the line is crazy long (to the door) but it goes rather quickly and you don't have to wait too long for your drink. There's a free photo booth tv thingy near a self-kiosk on the left as you enter the cafe. Plenty of seats but when I got there, all the seats were taken and people were just standing around. Bathroom located down the hallway as you walk past by hundreds of the photo wall.
I enjoyed the matcha einspanner and the hojicha einspanner. I don't know if the crispy rice at the top added much to the drink. I also tried the banana pudding matcha which was pretty good. There were a couple tables open and I had a meeting there but the music was quite loud. The drinks came out fast and there is a small photobooth station that was free.
One of my new favorite boba places. We went for their BOGO and wow, the hype was real. I got the mango mango and the coco strawberry, both drinks were amazing. The mango was juicy and sweet, they put in a lot of big chunks. The avocado and strawberry drink was a big surprise as it was slightly savory but had really yummy textured with the strawberry and chewy jelly. There was a huge line when we went but it went by pretty fast so the service was good. They take your order and make it very fast. Inside of the shop was cute. They have a lot of seatings and the aesthetic is cute. The space is huge too
I'm not sure what the hype is all about but from my experience it was just fair. While the service was quick considering how busy it was, the decor was nice & the drinks look presentable. Taste wise it's just like every other decent boba shops, nothing too impressive. The first time I was here I got 3 drinks. Mango passion chill, mango mango & jasmine jade cha. The passion fruit had zero tea flavor. While I appreciate lots of mango chunks for my mango mango drink, the tea flavor was beyond weak & most likely from all that coconut milk, I wasn't a fan of the boba itself. It was so much toppings that I couldn't even enjoy the drink. Now the jasmine jade cha did save them from getting 2 stars. Good tea flavor just disappointed that they couldn't fill it to the top without ice. I would've been fine if you charged extra just to top it off. 2nd time around, I decided to give them one more go and try out two more drinks. I'm pretty fair so if I didn't have a good experience the first time but the service was good, I'm more than happy to give them another chance. This time I ordered the cha cha lychee rice & the peach oolong tea with foam. I'm a fan of lychee but once again tea flavor was very weak and most likely from all that lychee juice & sweet rice, which pretty much diluted the tea. The peach oolong was quite refreshing and the foam was smooth. Overall, it was just fair. Definitely did not live up to the hype but I will for sure give them one more go since the service was fantastic and the drinks did come out in a timely manner.
Busy but still got my drinks pretty quick! Highly recommend the matcha here, beautiful green color and not grassy at all! I ordered the banana pudding matcha and the banana pudding was fantastic. Matcha was strong as well and not super sweet or artificial tasting . Went back next day and tried all 3 matchas 1. Matcha matcha (strong with thick salted matcha cream on top, most matcha taste) 2. Matcha einspanner (salty vanilla foam with crispies on top, fave) 3. Matcha latte (least favorite, just tasted like matcha and milk)
Cha Redefine is one of the MANY new cafes that opened up in Houston's chinatown. So far.. out of all that I tried (which is now officially all of them), Cha Redefine is my favorite. Vibes of the space are nice, free photobooth which is super cool, and service is not slow nor exceptionally fast. So standard service nothing noteable. Very extensive menu with lots of flavors and fun unique drinks that I want to try when I am back. - Mango mango: Truly amazing, and it is the reason I am rating this place so highly. This is definitely the best mango based drink I've tried in the bellaire chinatown area. It is a great balance of fresh and sweet mangoes, the texture is on point in that it is creamy and not icy (sometimes smoothies like this can be a bit icy, but this was creamy and rich), you get the fresh mango flavor and chunks. It also has the right amount of coconut milk so that it is not overpowering. While Cha redefine is ..quite expensive, I have to say it is indeed very good. Whether it is worth the price, that is debatable, but I loved my experience here. Caveat: I have only been once and it was great, so I will come back a couple more times and update for consistency of drink quality + other menu items.

I tried an order from Cha Redefine and had their hojicha einspanner. Even though the line seemed quite long, it moved quickly, and I got my order within 15 minutes. The hojicha had a deep, roasted flavor with a nice nutty aroma, and the creamy topping added a good amount of richness and sweetness. There was a good contrasty between the salty cream and the earthy hojicha. Great drink and would love to try some of their other drinks!
Finally got a chance to try Cha Redefine! Nice interior w/ variety of seating. Totally didn't see the kiosk (to order) in the corner but the line wasn't too bad! Drinks didn't take too long to prep. Ordered Sri Lanka Ceylon Cha Latte (w/o whipped cream) & Hojicha einspanner. - really enjoyed the cha latte - Hojicha was ok, didn't expect rice puffs as the topper (did not finish this drink) Ended up trying one more drink: peach oolong w/ cold foam - also enjoyed this one, could be a little less sweet There's also a mini photobooth that prints a black & white photo! You also get a color digital copy via QR code. Overall great experience! We'll be back!
RESPONSE TO OWNER: No, it was not communicated to me at all and especially that my drink would be losing 1 inch from the top. Also, I've ordered your other drinks from the menu. Most of your other drink cup sizes are ridiculously tiny that cost $8 to $9 each. Also, it is super frustrating that your drinks come in different sizes depending on the selected drink. There is no standard to your drink cups. I've had 3 different cup sizes there. The customer does not get to choose the size. The size of the drink is put into whatever cup size your place dictates that particular drink to be at. ----- The parking lot is usually very busy, so it is difficult to find a parking spot. The store itself is tiny and cramped. It smells nice inside, and the decor looks nice. The drinks are way too expensive, and the drink cup size is terribly small. I've tried a few different drinks. Some are ok. Some are good but not great. The last straw is when there is missing an inch on top of my drink when I requested less ice. I asked for No Mochi in my Mochi Taro drink. You would think mochi costs more than the tea and milk part. That is ridiculous that I got charged full amount but did not get my drink filled up even when I requested no mochi be added. Not coming back. There are a lot of other places that are worth the value for what you get.
Another tea and boba shop at Chinatown. It stays where used to be Gongcha. Besides the decoration, I actually don't understand the hype of this one. The service was extremely fast with the huge amount of orders they receive. The staff were nice and friendly. The menu's almost the same with other place with few different items. I decided to try new item "Chia seed passion fruit beet". I do like they have sweetness option for almost of their drink, but mine tastes like watering down. Their price is also slightly higher than other places. Huge negative points, they don't have much seats, and the store was super noisy that I decided to take Togo instead of enjoying my drinks indoors. I might come back to try more.
I still can't believe this used to be Gong Cha! The entire interior has been redesigned, and it now has such a cute desert-themed vibe that feels completely different from what was there before. The drinks were very good, and I was impressed by both the quality and variety. While you're waiting in line, they display their top 10 most popular drinks, which is helpful if you're not sure what to order. However, I definitely recommend checking out the full menu online because there are so many more options available, and quite a few I'd love to come back and try.

Cha Redefine has been my all time favorite place to get sweet treats recently and I've been trying out new drinks from them every-time. I've tried some more drinks from the last time here: Guava Avocado Bliss, Guava Matcha Cloud, Coco Strawberry, and Coco Longan Bliss. Safe to say ALL of them were delicious!! My all time favorite drinks would be the guava avocado bliss, coco strawberry, mango mango, and their double matcha. I really need to try the Magnolia banana pudding matcha & their lychee drinks next!!! read more

This cafe is so cute! I stopped by with a friend, and we both really liked Cha Redefine! Parking is usually difficult to find in this plaza. Staff was friendly. There wasn't too long of a line to order but they also have an order kiosk towards the entrance. There's a free receipt photo station right next to this kiosk which we definitely hogged for a little bit. You can either keep your receipt photo or hang it up on the wall. There are plenty of drink options on their menu too. I ordered the salty butter latte which was quite delicious. The buttery flavor of this latte balanced the coffee. Not too milky, sweet, or rich as it sounds. When I'm back in Bellaire, I'd love to come back to try out a different item on the menu and take a new receipt picture! read more

Another tea house to join the Dun Huang Plaza! They seem to focus on teas, but also serve some coffee drinks (coffee is from Onyx) and gelato. Ordered: - Matcha Matcha - Nice strong matcha flavor which I appreciate a lot. According to their website their matcha is from Shizouka, Japan. - Coco Strawberry - Pretty good avocado smoothie. Not my favorite I've ever had but definitely a good option for Houston. I like the strawberry pieces on the bottom with the avocado. Personally, I didn't like the agar boba, next time I would consider removing it or switching it to the brown sugar boba. - Mango Mango - They claim to put 3 whole mangos in this drink which seems like a lot for that size cup, also unsure how much that changes whenever you do the cup size upgrade. I didn't notice the grapefruit flavor much when I drank it. Again, still not a fan of agar boba personally. Not a place I would recommend studying/working. It was a bit loud inside. They only had 3 actually tables, but they did have a decent amount of ottomans for seating. Definitely more of a grab and go place or just a sit and chit chat place. We went on a Tuesday morning and afternoon during their soft opening. In the morning, there wasn't a line and it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks. Went again post dinner and there was a line. Took about 15 minutes to get our drinks once we ordered. read more

I went a little before they opened and the staff was nice enough to let the customers wait inside. Inside you get a dessert type of vibe because of the cactus . There's not a lot of seating but more of the size of an average teashop or coffee shop. They have a shelf of souvenir items that you can buy like cups and shirts. I tried the longan & coconut. It was chewy because of the jellies and has tiny pieces of the longan in it. The top was more of a slurry and icy. I think if you like longan this drink would be for you. The coconut flavor isn't too strong. I wouldn't buy this one again I think I prefer lychee. The other drink I tried was the matcha matcha and that one was the best of the two. They say to drink it without a straw so u can sip on it and get the taste of the cheese foam with the matcha. I think that it tasted good like that because it makes the drink a little salty but then you get a hint of the earthy matcha flavor. read more

Five stars for the drinks, menu variety, service and ambiance. The girl at the register was kind and helped us pick a drink since literally everything on the menu looked incredible and we were having a hard time choosing. My friend got the banana pudding matcha and I tried their special guava avocado smoothie. We really liked both our drinks. They also have a little Photo Booth thing that you can use for free which was cute. However, it smelled really foul in the cafe... I can't really pinpoint what the smell was (maybe some sort of rot smell combined with a mothball smell) but it was super strong and it did not subside for the entire hour we were there. Im wondering if it was just a one off thing but it was quite strong and my friend agreed it was super unpleasant and persisted. We stayed because we wanted to catch up and it was too hot outside to hang out but it made the experience slightly less pleasant. Would still return as the drinks were great read more
I went during a weekend so the store was super busy and crowded. The seating is kind of limited during the rushes, but we were lucky enough to find some seats. Although there were a lot of customers, the wait for drinks was not very long. The workers are very nice and understanding. The drink was light and refreshing. I will definitely be back read more

I wish I could rate this higher for their customer service. I thought I was a different order number, so they remade that order. When the confusion was cleared, I offered to pay for the additional drinks in the mix up and I was told I could take one. It's a very aesthetic space and the little photo area was cute. Not too much seating but we liked sitting by the photo wall. The drinks are made quickly and refreshing in this Houston heat. read more

I ordered 3 drinks ~ mango passion chill, salty butter latte, and the rice einspanner latte all at 30% sweetness. The mango passion chill was really good, but my mom would like it better if the passion fruit seeds were filter out. The salty butter latte was my personal favorite and is a bit on the sweeter side ~ I would consider 0% sweetness the next time. The rice einspanner latte was good, but nothing special. The wait for the drinks was super long and the shop was too crowded. However, that's expected as they just opened. I really appreciated the 15% student discount! read more
I can't believe this store took over Gong Cha because it looks completely different in every good way possible. I got their matcha drinks and honestly I think it's pretty good. Omg i love the hojicha einspanner here! super nutty, although I didn't care for the toasted rice puffs . If you're a fan of hojicha, then I recommend. I've also tried the matcha matcha and the matcha flavor is pretty strong in this one. I like my matcha sweet so i kept the default sugar level on it and it was great, i definitely could've gone sweeter too. Cha Redefine is a new boba shop from California that just recently opened in Houston Chinatown. I tried their Da Hong Pao (DHP) CHAppuccino and coco mango. I reallly liked the DHP CHAppuccino. The oolong tea base was very strong and the drink had the right amount of sweetness. Coco mango was ok. It was an avocado smoothie with mango, agar boba, and coconut milk. I don't like boba in my drinks but it came with it. I rather just go to heytea for a mango drink. Matcha is pretty solid here. I thought the Sri Lanka latte was not worth it. Tea flavor not prominent at all and whipped cream is normal not tea flavored like Molly tea read more

cha redefine stands out in such a competitive plaza packed with coffee, tea, and boba shops. their menu is refreshingly unique and has plenty of creative drinks the rice einspanner latte has crunchy rice bits on top and reminds me of eating cereal as a kid. the coffee itself is bold and the foam is smooth and decadent the peachy cream dream is a classic peach tea topped with your choice of foam. we went with vanilla, which was light and complemented the bright peach flavor really well the coconut longan chew bliss is distinct flavor combo. the slushie is super refreshing and the water chestnut rubies paired with the jasmine tea jellies make it sorta like a bowl of che! the drinks are on the pricier side, but i appreciate the creativity behind the menu. i like how they experiment with unique flavors and im looking forward to coming back to try more of their items :) read more
After trying almost every boba shop along the Bellaire strip, this has officially become my favorite place for matcha. I'm very picky about the quality, and their matcha drink completely deliver. The "Matcha Matcha" is robust and authentic, reminiscent of true Japanese matcha and far superior to neighboring spots like Heytea, Molly, or The Phin. It's easily the best in Houston area. My 2nd favorite drink here is anything with their avocado, the taste is so so good, creamy and very avocado-y... I'm shocked how good avocado can be. If you don't like matcha then I highly recommend to try either jasmine tea with avocado cream foam or coco mango (yes...it's called coco mango but the main ingredient is avocado!). I also tried mango mango, didn't like it here, not much of flavor and too sweet, go to Heytea for that. read more

this place was definitely worth the wait!! i had the banana pudding matcha and this has had to be my favorite that i've had tried! it's very thick, yet flavorful, without that artificial flavoring. the matcha consistency is amazing- despite how busy they were and the influx of matcha orders. The salty butter latte was smooth, almost a hazelnut like flavor. I would return again. My only complaint is how small the cafe is, because on a weekend it definitely fills fast! limited seating for sure read more

Coco strawberry - 9.5/10 - 25% sweet - I got this without boba, it was soo creamy and the strawberries were sweet and fresh, avocado wasnt overpowering Mango mango - 10/10 - 50% sweet - Soo creamy, and they use fresh sweet mangoes Matcha matcha - 8.5/10 - Strong and creamy matcha, more on the grassy side and not too sweet Rice einspeinner - 7.5/10 - 50% sweet - Pretty strong coffee and foam was sweet and creamy, but didnt have much flavor as 1/2 sweet Coconut gelato - 10/10 - Loved the coconut flavor and bit of it on top Matcha gelato - 9.5/10 - Strong and sweet matcha, soo good One of the newest specialty tea & coffee spots has come to town‼ Theyre having their grand opening TODAY, and this weekend they have a BOGO deal on their signature drinks!
