Pandan milk tea
Suelynn N.

I really like that they had a 32 ounce option. I ordered the pandan milk tea. You can definitely taste the flavor and it was just as expected along with some black/grass jelly. I was here for maybe about five minutes. They were very quick and efficient. The place was clean and they had some flyers out, promoting their seasonal drinks. Parking is free and out front .

The Unknown. Really refreshing.

Very fast and friendly service. Wasn't sure what to get and they walked me through some of the options. Offering good recommendations that would be refreshing on a hot day. Would come back.

I was excited to check out Tastea since Bellaire has so many teahouses and more on the way. On my first visit, I got the Strawberry Ecsteasy, which is made with black tea and black jelly, but I substituted lychee jelly--my favorite. The drink was okay, but it didn't stand out compared to other places. I went again a few days ago and tried the Strawberry Ecsteasy with green tea and lychee jelly instead, and it was pretty good--definitely better than my first experience. What I was really looking forward to was the popcorn chicken, which they call "Karate Chicken." Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The portion size was too small for the price, and it was a bit too salty. I still prefer the popcorn chicken from Kim's Cafe--it remains my favorite. Overall, Tastea was decent, but not enough to pull me away from my regular spots. For drinks, R&B Tea is still my top pick for Strawberry Green Tea and other teas, and for popcorn chicken, I'll be sticking with Kim's Cafe.

I like this boba spot and the different drinks they have to offer. I think the price is pretty good for what you are getting. I will say their drinks are on the sweeter side so I would lower the sweetness if you don't like your drinks sweet. Also their fries are so addictive! They have different flavors to offer and they give you so much! They also make the drinks super fast so you are never waiting for a long time. The bellaire location is a little small compared to katy but it's very clean.

Wonderful customer service. I read the Elite Week wrong as I thought it ended Nov 4th but still glad I was able to visit. Clean establishment. Seating outside and a two benches inside. I couldve done without the cigarette smoke being blown by other patrons from the restaurant next door before I walked in but oh well. You have to take the good with the bad as we all have our vices/habits. Great menu and received order in less than 5 minutes. I ordered a blueberry tea.

The workers are so nice! There is some seating, but it's more for waiting on drinks than staying to study. It feels very clean, and the drinks come out fast. This spot has better prices than other boba shops who charge $8 for a small drink. The 32 oz size is honestly a great deal. Their boba is uniquely colored (green), but it tastes like regular boba!

Mango green tea
Huong N.

Tried the mango green tea which had chunks of mango (small, diced and kind of hard) and added honey boba (soft and chewy). Asked for the drink to be half sweet, but it was still fairly sweet. The selection of drinks is great, and overall looking forward to trying more at future visits.

Cute little tea shop. We were promptly greeted upon walking in. The staff are very friendly and helpful with your drink selections. I opted for the tiger milk tea that has chunks of crème brûlée with 50% sugar. That seems to be the right sugar level for me. Delicious and creamy drink. My husband ordered the bootea shaker with tapioca and lite sugar. The boba was fresh, soft and chewy. Their specialty are the fruit teas with little fruit bits. Drinks comes in 20 oz and 32 oz sizes. Prices are fair. Parking here might be a challenge on the weekend with other busy establishments in the same shopping center.

It pains me to write this but combining both of the times I've been here, it definitely did not exceed my expectations. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 is because the service was great and their Vietnamese coffee was very good. So this place is more set up for to go orders. They only have a booth area for you to wait on your drinks. The 2nd time I was here they did bring out two tables. There's also outside seating as well with no tables (maybe they'll set that up later). The drinks came out swiftly both of the times even though it was very busy the 2nd time. Here are the drinks I've ordered. * Sunset Peach- refreshing? Yes. But even with less sugar I didn't taste any tea. I was also not a fan of their green mango bits. 2/5 * Tea to Mango- tea flavor was subtle. 2.5/5 * Taro milk tea- says it has black tea in it but I didn't taste any of that. Taro flavor was there, it's just not strong enough. 2/5 * The unknown- zero tea flavor, felt like I was just drinking passion fruit juice. I do like that they added lychee bits into the drink. 2/5 * Vietnamese coffee- Their saving grace. Authentic & potent as how it's suppose to be. This will have me up all day. 4/5 I'm not saying I'm an expert with boba tea but I go at least twice a week. So I definitely know what I'm talking about. What I look for when I'm drinking Milk/Fruit "tea" is for the tea flavor to be strong or at least strong enough. Presentation & other ingredients are important but if the tea is weak then points will be deducted. This place is new so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I'll come back in a month and give them one last try.

Maybe it's the nostalgia or maybe it's the incredibly large sweet tooth we all have as a kid. The general consensus after trying this place in Houston was the memories of getting Tastea on the family trip to California as a kid was much more pleasant. At 50% sweetness the Unknown was incredibly sweet and overpowered with what tasted like the sweetened juice you get from canned lychee fruit. I'm 80% sure the "Longan bits" were lychee fruit and my friend who got the lychee peaches had a drink that tasted and almost looked the exact same as my "unknown". Looking at the other pictures I can see that this is just their standard. A little disappointing because of the fond memories of this place but I was expecting more authenticity tbh.

20oz Wintermelon Tea
David P.

Nut allergy warning: Coffees do have hazelnut. I came here around 8 PM on a Saturday evening and there was not really a line. I got my drink in about six minutes. Ordered lite sweetness, less ice, and top off with tea. The Wintermelon milk Tea with honey boba was one of the sweetest drinks I've ever had at less sugar level. I let three friends all try it and it was ridiculously sweet to the point of saying we're basically drinking cream with sugar. The boba tasted like drinking condensed corn syrup. If I ever got dragged back here, I'd definitely order a drink at "None" sugar level. For $8 (with $1 tip) on a smaller drink, I definitely won't be back. It might be one of the only times in my life I could not finish a boba tea and had everybody in my party refuse to take it.

I had to come back and check this place out for their lunch options as it's only 14-15 minutes from my job! The food did not disappoint! They offered fried shrimp and fries, both of which can be ordered separately. The shrimp can be ordered in two sizes, a medium or large size. I got the medium which was more than enough, it came with about 8 pieces of juicy fried shrimp and I was able to select my heat level from 0-10 and my dipping sauce which was a honey siracha. The fries come in one size, cut from the cud and crunchy, comes with the same heat level options as the shrimp and a dipping sauce. They were amazing!! I'm still impressed with the vibrant basil mixed with spice of the shrimp, the honey siracha offered a nice cool down from the heat. I got my shrimp on level 8 and it was well worth it! I went based off the staff's recommendation. I ordered their Earl Grey Peach tea that was slightly sweet, very fragrance with chopped crisp beaches throughout. They also have a rewards program where when you purchase enough, you gain enough points to get freebies like the fried shrimp or teas. They also give service member discounts of 10% off the total spend making this place one of the most desired in the plaza. Plenty of free and open lot parking, right off a main road, Staff was absolutely amazing with amazing suggestions. Pick their brain an be spontaneous like I did and say "if you could pick a tea and something to eat what would it be? please order as if it were your meal" and you will be left with no regrets!

Yummy Gummy + Honey Boba
Michelle H.

I'm so happy Tastea has finally opened in Houston! My new obsession is the *Yummy Gummy + Honey Boba. It was really refreshing and tasted exactly like a gummy bear. It also has peach bits in it as well which is nice. I usually am not a smoothie person but this one was really good! One thing I can note though, is that smoothies at this location consistently come out icier than at the Katy location. The inside of this location is very small so it's more of a grab and go spot located in a very busy plaza. I came on a busy night and drinks were still coming out quickly. I would definitely recommend to stop by Tastea for a refreshing drink when you have the chance!

What is in the nondairy milk powder?

When I went there I asked for coconut milk and they had it available but I don't know if they have it in powdered form.

They simply care for the tea leaves, the hidden brown sugar note in their milk tea No.5 (if you like "dry" milk tea, give it a try) Tips: I always adjust my sugar level to 50% and add boba to balance the sweetness. Tho I quite like boba from Fengcha better, it is still very uniquely chewy and tasty. Milk tea No.3 is more milky and less tea flavor, and milk tea No.2 is just like green milk tea IMO so not very impressed with No.2 I have tried their cheese milk tea as well and would recommend it. It reminds me of cheese foam tea/milktea so if that's something you like go for it. Their mango tea is very refreshing, pair it with housemade fruit jelly for a perfect combo. The peach tea is a little strange to taste imo. Not sure if that's just very authentic or artificial... Overall, very good and unique drink recipes you can't find elsewhere. Ulike? Why yes, I do…read more The Bellaire Asiatown location of Ulike Tea chain is vastly different from its OG northern counterpart. It's not nearly as pretty, far less English friendly, and open super late (#1). While the drinks are average compared to other Viet-owned milk tea spots, it would be considered quite good for places open past 10pm. Post-dinner option? Absolutely. The interior is smallish, but they've managed to cram a good number of seats both in and outside. These are interesting because they remind me of something I've seen in Southeast Asia, namely the fact of furniture is condensed and also at a height that makes it noticeably different from what we would see around most cafes. Late at night, one can always find a decent crowd of young folks drinking and eating just outside the cafe. The wall mural is well done and is something like I would feel like I would see in Vietnam. The claw machines are simply a sign of the times. The drinks are someone average across the board with the exception of their coffee selection. The sea salt coffee as well as the regular cap phe sua da Viet coffee, are quite good. Ube coffee is a tad on the sweet side and the coconut coffee is only recommended for folks who really love coconut. (#2) Milk tea is fine overall but I don't feel necessarily better than the dedicated specialty spots. Fruit-Based teas such as longan is much more refreshing. Surprisingly where I think they shine is the food. The series of bites make for excellent late night snacks. Their coconut Viet style pudding is very tasty, the crispy rice (com chay cha bong) has a nice crunch, the grilled rice rolls (banh trang cuon chien) are good when fresh, stir fried corn (bap xao), and the fried combo (lac muoi tom) is always a hit. Skip the fried dumplings and popcorn chicken. Customer service is generally good. English speakers won't struggle too much, especially since the menu is a picture menu.
