I came here for the first time while checking out a pop up market on Mother's Day around 1 pm. It was very busy but cool to see how many people were enjoying the market/boba event. You could tell the staff were working very hard. I ordered the shooting star fruit tea from the signature menu since I like butterfly pea & strawberry lemonade smoothie for my kids to share. My drink was refreshing and little more on the sweet side than what I am used to with butterfly pea so I wonder if I could adjust the sweetness level next time. I thought it was interesting on the lemonade & smoothie created two separate layers. My kids enjoyed it overall especially in the heat. There is a variety of seating options and outdoor seating as well. The bathroom was clean which is always a major plus for me. The parking lot is within a shared shopping complex which can get busy during peak hours. I would definitely consider coming back to try more drinks! read more

This Malaysian boba shop has done a great job with building their franchise recognized by their cute grizzly bear logo. Their menu has many different series of drinks, but I couldn't really tell what the difference was between some of them. It would be really nice if they could put a brief description next to each series. My friend always gets oolong tea from boba shops because he says it is a pretty consistent and safe choice. Unfortunately, the oolong tea he got here tasted off. I tried it, and it had an unpleasant taste. He described it as the taste of tree bark. I got the brown sugar pearl matcha, which was $7 for the tiny medium size. If I had the stomach capacity for it, the large size would definitely have been more worth the value. I liked the combination of the matcha with the brown sugar, although it was too sweet at 50% sugar. They didn't have an option for 25%. I also didn't see an option for milk substitutions on the menu. We came here to study/work, and the chairs were surprisingly very comfortable. They have some outlets along the wall. The music was too loud, however, and they kept repeating their playlist of ~15 pop hit songs. I started to get irritated from hearing Baby by Justin Bieber and Stitches by Shawn Mendes play on repeat. The wifi was a little slow but not too bad. I liked the animal plushie decor. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restrooms and how they weren't just singles. They were locked for quite a while after we got there before an employee went to unlock them though, which was strange. read more

Daboba sits between 3-4 stars for me. We got the brown sugar boba fresh milk, which was comparable to xingfutang. I loved that it wasn't too sweet and the boba was nice and chewy too. My partner got the honey golden pearl green milk tea, which was also solid- nicely sweetened with chewy honey boba. My biggest complaint about daboba are the small sizes and the more expensive price per oz compared to other boba places. Also, the drinks didn't really stick out to me to warrant going back, especially with the ever growing boba scene in houston, but it was a nice treat to try. I visited here one Sunday, and it was pretty busy. They have a numbering system on a digital sign to let you know when your order is ready. I wanted to try it and see if it was as good as the location in Chicago. They are rated much higher there, although they have less competition, so maybe thats why. Was looking for a boba place while visiting Houston and found Daboba! I really liked this place. Nice and clean space with plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. Boba was cooked perfectly, good and chewy texture, slightly sweetened too. I loved their brown sugar matcha. Made no adjustment on the drink and it was perfect. You can really taste the matcha, which was earthy. The strawberry yogurt was also yummy. It wasn't overly sweet either and I liked the strawberry chunks in there. Unfortunately it wasn't as pictured on the menu haha but still a good drink. People with me also liked the purple yam red bean and passionfruit drink. Boba is a necessity after a sodium filled meal in the Bellaire area. After stuffing ourselves @ Blood Brothers, something with sugar is definitely required. So my friend moseyed me here afterwards to check this out. The inside is large with a good amount of seating and there's outdoor seating as well. Selection-wise, you could be overwhelmed with all the series such as frappe, fruit tea, brown sugar, milk tea, and cheese tea just to name a few. Toppings are also available if you feel like ponying up that extra 80-90 cents. The avocado yogurt series looked appealing since I knew TB12 loved him some avocado. Figured if it's good enough for him, why not? The drink was what I expected with boba and flavor was there although I felt the avocado could have a smoother consistency. This place is super cute and the drinks are even cuter! Their drinks come in these beary cute cups and we are obsessed! I'm a creature of habit, so even though this was not our first time here, I always order the Purple Rice Yogurt drink haha. It has purple rice, yogurt, and some milk so be sure to bring along your lactaid if you're like me LOL. It definitely reminds me of a sort of Vietnamese dessert but drink version and I find myself craving this drink a lot. Highly recommend! I knew I wanted something non dairy and preferably fruity so they suggested the Daboba Shooting Star which was a lemonade based drink. I added crystal boba for that little extra texture and chew I love with boba. The drink was visually appealing in it's cute cup, but for me the drink was not all that. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was not the refreshing drink that I was craving. It was on the bitter side and just did not go down smoothly. Would I come back? Sure, why not. I've waited to come here at least 4 times now before I wrote this review, and I'm satisfied to say that overall Daboba is consistently very good! I've tried their signature roasted brown pearl fresh milk, honey golden pearl green milk tea, cheese foam seasons tea, and brown sugar pearl milk tea. Everything is honestly really good. I'm usually a tough critic when it comes to boba, but all of their drinks are great so far. My only complaint about this place is that all of their drinks are on the expensive side, but I guess they make you pay for the quality. I'll definitely be a regular here to try more of their menu. I first stopped by when I wanted to try out the Vietnamese dessert place across the center but it was closed, but then I spotted this place. It's at the outside corner/edge of the center across from Hong Kong City Mall. Since that first time, I've been twice. It seems to be Vietnamese owned - the staff all spoke Vietnamese both times but are proficient in English - and is quite a large space with plenty of chairs and tables. All the people I've spoken to there are friendly and helpful. We got: BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA - perfectly chewy boba in a delicious milk tea base. It's a bit sweet due to the brown sugar, so just reduce the sweetness level for this one. Still delicious though! SHOOTING STAR - a lemonade based drink (i believe they also mentioned butterfly pea tea to help the colors along) I got for my daughter because it was a hot latte and I didn't want her to get more caffeine in her. It's refreshing and beautiful! A bit tart/sweet but perfect for the summer. Keep the ice so when it melts, it won't be as sweet. ROASTED BROWN SUGAR YAM MILK TEA (75% sugar, less ice) - this was SWEET and it's slightly thick due to the purple yam paste. The drink is sweet and the boba is sweet plus the sweet topping. It's not bad but it's just too sweet for me. If I could go back in time, I'd have gone for 50% sugar AT LEAST. STRAWBERRY / PEACH YOGURT - their yogurt drinks are blended with real food and based off of Vietnamese yogurt, which is one of my favorite types of yogurt. It is PERFECT. Not too sweet or anything. Probably my favorite drink here. I got strawberry the first time and peach the second, with peach being a seasonal flavor, but they might be canned. My son was not a fan of the peach chunks at the bottom. My son has a number of food allergies and strawberry was the only flavor he could have. I informed them and the lady told the people making the drink in Vietnamese to make sure it's super clean (even after telling me they wash between drinks) due to food allergies so that was very nice of them. Their vegan choices are somewhat limited to the fruit teas and shooting star. They did say they use dairy free creamer for the milk teas but when I asked them further, they might be lactose free, but not necessarily vegan. I encountered this before at another boba place where they let us read the ingredients and it contained whey, which is a milk product. I didn't get to read the ingredients for the creamer Daboba uses but I assume it might be the same. They do not have vegan milk options at this time. I'm mentioning this because my second visit, my sister was with me and she's vegan. Overall, I've enjoyed my two visits there - just beware of the sweetness level. The yogurt drink here is to die for though. I'd get it for myself but I do enjoy my caffeine, so I give my kiddos most of it and finish them off. Haha... read more

I definitely had to start 2022 with a boba review. Daboba soft opening was this past Saturday (1-1-21) & I got a chance to try it today. The greeting was very warm & welcoming & the decor was okay-ish, not my favorite. I wanted to get 4 drinks two being their fruit tea & mango frappe but the menu was limited & only offering milk based drinks. Here's what I got. * Roasted brown sugar pearl milk tea- the drink was okay but in terms of the tea flavor it was weak. The balance of the sweetness was perfect & I enjoyed the boba as it was soft & chewy. I also liked that they torched the top of the drink, kinda tasted like creme brûlée. 2.8/5 * Honey golden pearl milk tea- I would get this drink again because the tea was present but the pearls were a bit too hard & chewy for me. 3.5/5 Overall it was decent, my only issue is that they couldn't make my drink without ice. In my opinion I think you guys should start honoring the no ice request because for folks like myself I don't like watered-down drinks. But it's all good because I end up drinking it fast anyways. I'll return whenever they have a full menu, I was looking forward to trying their fruit teas & mango frappe (yogurt), but will do that my next visit. I've been wanting to try this place ever since they came to Bellaire but unfortunately, i'm pretty underwhelmed. There was a good number of people waiting in line when my friend and I arrived but, the line moved pretty fast. I have been seeing pics of the cute bear lids and the brown sugar boba but I didn't really get either here. I got the roasted brown sugar pearl milk tea with less ice, reg sugar and my friend got the roasted brown sugar pearl fresh milk with reg ice, 75% sugar. The only difference in the roasted and the regular, is the .25 increase and you get a little brown on the top. I didn't taste the difference at all, really I just tasted milk and I got the milk tea version. I am glad that I decided to get 100% because I didn't taste any sugar at all. I usually don't like too sweet but the cashier said it's really subtle. I think the only thing that I liked was that the boba was soft. The drink didn't taste like brown sugar or tea- just milk and boba. Oh, and if you want to bring your drink on the go- they have a plastic lid that can go over the drink. The space is big so there are a lot of places to sit so that's a big plus. I am not too sure about the other drinks they have but this place didn't really leave any desire for me to come back and try other drinks.
