Came here straight from Uncle Chin's Kitchen to wash down all the intense spices. Nước Mát (0%) - Definitely more of a dessert-style nước mát. I could tell by the vibrant green color that it was partially Thai-inspired. Still very delicious and not too sweet--they don't add any sugar to this, so the sweetness comes entirely from the jellies. It came with grass jelly, coconut jelly, basil seeds, and a variety of other toppings in an artichoke tea base. Honeydew Milk Tea - Okay--this was an instant "mmmm!" kind of vibe. It genuinely tasted like honeydew, albeit a bit artificial. It had a rich flavor, a vibrant green color, and wasn't too sweet. I wouldn't order this for myself, but I do love stealing sips from my BF's. (I was pretty sugared out at this point too.) Kim's Tea House has been one of my favorite boba places for over a decade. I have been going to them since they still had their much smaller shop across the street from their current location. I don't stop by so often anymore because I rarely go to the Westchase area now, but whenever I do, I have to stop by and get smoothies from them. Their current store is spacious, and the workers are friendly. They have a large selection of smoothies, teas, coffees, and slurpies as well as a wide variety of drink toppings and snacks. You can select a drink option that's already on their menu, but they also allow customization of flavors (mix and match), ice levels, sugar level, or other substitutions as you choose. I'm the type who doesn't like tea, so I always get smoothies when going with my friends to Boba places. That being said, I think this place has some of the best smoothies I've tried yet. Fruity and creamy without being overbearing. My favorite part is you can mix flavors even if the combination isn't on the menu. I love mango and coconut, and they have no problem mixing their individually listed mango smoothie and coconut smoothie together for me. Smoothie they have non dairy options which is good, the food is good but you can order food but they are charging 50 cents for sauce .....you order food and have to eat it dry with zero sauce I guess . Seems odd and cheap of them. I got an Avacado smooth it was ok, I said I want lite tapioca and I told them like barely any . You can see the pics doesn't look like lite or barely any but it's ok. This place holds the number one spot in my heart for two things: the fresh watermelon juice and popcorn chicken! I'm not a fan of toppings in my drinks and their watermelon juice is the perfect level of sweetness on its own and is awesome for cooling off during the summer. The popcorn chicken comes in different spice levels that can be inconsistent at times, but the flavor is always there--crispy, juicy, and with lots of basil. I have been to the now-closed-down Katy location a few times - but also to the one inside the Hong Kong City Mall. This location is going strong on Westheimer. I like it and they are friendly and the products are good. Not my favourite Bubble Tea in town but definitely worth a try. Looking forward to coming back here and sampling a few more things. One of the original Bubble Tea Shops of Houston and they still make good products similar to Teahouse after all these years. They're Vietnamese so try the coffee and such, don't expect Taiwan style tea here, for that there are plenty of chains around. There are much better Boba shops out there, I know, but with lots of varying standards of Viet shops around Houston, if you want the original and one which is still going strong and doing well after all these years, this is one of those brands. read more

Their menu is primarily variations of boba teas and smoothies, I haven't done the math but I'm sure there's thousands of combinations to try so enough to keep coming back. Pretty standard flavors but like most boba teas tend to run on the sweet side, pro tip, ask for half sweet and save the calories for a second tea. They offer small foods and snacks but a lunch could be put together with their fried calamari and chicken strips. The interior is somewhat eclectic but with plenty of seating, clean surroundings, clean restrooms, and competitive pricing it's neat place to stop by if you're like to unwind and socialize with over a drink that's not a bar. read more

Kim's Tea House is located in the same plaza as LensCrafters and Sally's Beauty, specifically next door to Logan Farms Honey Ham with plenty of parking. My husband and I came here on a Saturday, a little before 4 pm. After looking at the menu board, we ended up getting: Popcorn Chicken, $4.50 prior to tax- A good portion to share for 2, comes with a little basil leaves which gives the chicken a little bit more flavor. Some pieces were a little salty though. Special Combo Pork Sandwich, $4 prior to tax- My husband was really hungry since we had an early and small lunch. He decided to get this sandwich and thought it was good. I didn't eat any since I wasn't as hungry as he was but it came with pickled vegetables (in which the employee did ask if we he wanted everything on his sandwich when we ordered). Hot Almond Cream Tea, $3.75 prior to tax- I ordered this to be made with 50% sweetener. I thought this drink was good for the most part but could tell that it was made with powder since it was gritty at the bottom. Lychee Green Tea, $3.25 prior to tax- My husband ordered this. I don't like green tea so I didn't try any but he liked it. ----------------------- (Total= $16.78 after tax) Wait time for our order was about 10 minutes after ordering. Food was good and price was fair. Overall, a good place to grab some tea and some snacks or even a meal if you are in the area. Please note that place does have a lot of seating but didn't see too many outlets, in case you wish to come here to study and need to plug in your electronic devices. Haven't been to Kim's Teahouse in years! I keep reminding myself there are tons of tea houses around town now and it's true...there is a whole lotta competition. This location is pretty spacious, with high tops and regular tables. I could see this as a hang out place with friends and maybe even a place to get some work done if not too crowded or noisy. My group ordered some banh mi to share and a few drinks. The combination pork banh mi came nicely wrapped in a paper with Kim's logo but after unrolling it to open, it was immediately a disappointment. The bread wasn't stale but it also wasn't good, as there wasn't a crispy outside. The fillings were also very mediocre, and stuffed with shredded carrots more than anything else. Maybe I chose the wrong banh mi, but I wasn't a big fan of all the cold meat inside. The flavor was really lacking and price wise, my fave banh mi place definitely wins by taste and cost. We also tried the taro smoothie with tapioca, frozen coffee mocha, and red bean smoothie with tapioca. The sweetness level at fifty percent was still way too sweet for my taste. The most off putting thing though, was that these smoothies were not really smooth at all. The taro and the red bean smoothies were pretty much frozen and way too icy. The frozen coffee mocha was true to its name despite flavor not very strong. The tapioca was adequately cooked through though. Overall not what I'd prefer because I don't believe any of their drinks are fresh (I think they use powders). Customer service was OK, typical counter service. I think I'll be grabbing my "tea" elsewhere. read more

It's one of our favorite places in Houston for boba tea. They have consistent boba. My current favorite is papaya smoothie. Note, that of October 2021, they no longer serve bahn mi sandwiches (they stopped a month or two ago). The fiancee and I visited on a Saturday afternoon, in the mood for a smoothie or boba tea. She went with the mangonada and I had the soursop smoothie. Each of us was trying something we'd never had. The mangonada was amazingly delicious! I had only ever had them either made in a Mexican juice bar or homemade, so I was pleasantly surprised at this non-Mexican place's version--which was spot on! I came here because I was intrigued by the idea of taro jelly sinkers in my bubble tea, but when I tried to order them, I faced the all too familiar, "Oh we don't have those anymore." Well then why's it still listed on your menu? But whatever. The place is still cool with a unique selection. I ordered a lavender green cream tea lightly sweetened with matcha pudding and baby tapioca, and it was super flavorful but way too sweet until the ice melted a bunch 30 minutes later. Maybe the lavender they use is presweetened? I'll probably order unsweetened next time. I also got a BBQ banh mi. The pork was almost jerky level dry, but the bread was fresh, and overall it tasted really great, especially with the all-powerful sriracha they have available.
