The place is temporary. and takeaway only. But the wait isn't as long as it looks. And it's worth it. The jasmine matcha comes in two acts. Jasmine first--floral and fragrant. Then the earthy matcha hits. It's a perfectly crafted drink. The traditional matcha latte is more subtle but just as balanced. Toasty, earthy, just sweet enough to soften the bitter matcha. That seems to be the point here. The tea is serious. Cocha isn't precious about it. No ceremony. No mysticism. No need to convince you that drinking pulverized leaves is an act of spiritual transcendence. Just very good tea, handled carefully and allowed to taste like itself.

Our drinks were both $9 each, which seemed absurd for the size and quality. They were out of low fat milk, which is an option listed on the menu for no extra cost. They charge an extra $1 for all milk substitutes, even though the barista showed me in the fridge that it's just HEB brand milk that costs $4 for the whole carton. The menu is inaccurate because it says the Strawberry Nirvana comes with oat milk, but turns out you still have to pay extra for the milk.
