Tried their seasonal King Jasmine Guava drink. It's a well balanced drink. The guava is noticeable but not too overpowering to the point where you can't detect the floral notes of the jasmine tea. Lowered the sweetness to my liking and I thought it was good. I usually don't care for guava so this was a win in my book. The biggest complaint I have with this HeyTea and even the Bellaire location is the SMELL of the store. It's atrocious. Smells like a mixture of BO and a dirty public bathroom. Wish I could've stayed and hung around but I took my drink elsewhere to enjoy it because the smell is that bad. For a tea shop you'd think it would smell nice and floral-like... but alas.....
Brutalist boba shop. How unique. These were not my type of vibes, but the drinks were good. One of the menu fonts was hard to read. I got the Coconut Mango Boom, and my vegan friend got the Oat Mango Boom, which is the only plant-based drink on the entire menu. The don't allow for any milk substitutions. I thought the drink was tasty, and it was lightly sweet at 50% sugar. It was $7.57, which was pricey but expected from this kind of trendy chain. Very sad that they indicate dairy-free and plant-based on their menu with limited options. The entire atmosphere is depressing, but I know some people like that vibe.
Looking for a tasty drink whilst window shopping at Galleria? This place has some great drink offerings that will satisfy those sweet cravings. Went here randomly while walking through the lower level of the food court and I was immediately drawn in by the modern aesthetic of the store. The staff is very helpful and the menu is easy to read. I had the delicious tiramisu milk tea drink, it had all the flavors of a traditional tiramisu while still staying true to tea flavor!
I've come back to Heytea multiple times and they never disappoint! Order ahead on their app to avoid wait times & get rewards ;) This location is in the galleria food court so it's very small, more of a grab-and-go situation but there is some seating available while you wait. They work fairly quickly, even during busy times! Iced triple supreme matcha latte: for the matcha lovers who love foam and toppings! The mochi is soft and warm (I wasn't a big fan of the warm contrast with the iced drink, but it's definitely made fresh). Iced supreme matcha latte: my go-to! It's the perfect amount of sweetness. The foam can be a little much sometimes, so keep that in mind. This drink used to default come with matcha jelly (delicious!), but now it defaults with no toppings and you have to add on the matcha jelly (free of charge). Green grape boom: very light and refreshing! Although it's a slushie, sometimes it can be a little TOO icy and not enough of the grape flavor. It varies each time I order it. I don't typically like grape-flavored things, but this tastes like you're just eating fresh grapes and is delicious. Not artificial at all! Love that they use real ingredients!
Prepping for a long day at the Galleria, we stopped by HeyTea with high hopes--only to discover they were out of what felt like half the menu. I originally came for the King Jasmine Guava (RIP to my expectations), but ended up pivoting to one of their newer drinks instead. Honestly? Not the worst compromise. My brother and I both ordered our drinks at 25% sweetness. Pistachio Cloud Jasmine Coconut - Since my first choice was sold out, I landed on this and found it... solid. The jasmine tea flavor came through strongly and tasted pleasantly aromatic, while the pistachio cream was very true to flavor and didn't feel artificial. That said, at 25% sweetness, the drink leaned a little bland for me, and mixing the cream into the tea didn't really elevate things the way I hoped. Nothing tasted bad--it pretty much tasted exactly how you'd imagine from the name, just without a particularly memorable twist that made me stop and go, "Whoa." I understand the appeal, but I wasn't blown away. Cloud Mango - My brother's pick was much more of a hit. The mango flavor tasted fresh and delicious, though this thing was COLD cold. Every sip felt like an immediate brain freeze waiting to happen. If you enjoy ultra-refreshing drinks, this would probably be right up your alley. I was also told the Cloud Crisp Grape was especially good, but naturally... sold out too. Overall, presentation was great, service was quick, and everything tasted very fresh and intentionally made. One thing I appreciated was that the drinks weren't overloaded with ice the way many boba spots can be. While I wasn't exactly amazed by the flavors, I also wasn't disappointed either--they landed comfortably in the middle. Would I say it justified the price? Maybe not, considering I've had better drinks elsewhere for less. But at the Galleria? I begrudgingly accept the tax of convenience.

Is it worth the hype? Is it worth dealing with the galleria? Short answer, no. Long answer, it's a very solid tea place but it was definitely a one time visit to this particular location. If they open a closer one that's easier to park then I might frequent it more. I got 3 drinks from their favorites, my favorite of the 3 was the mango and coconut boom, mango was very refreshing and did not taste artificial at all. The 2nd favorite was the brown sugar boba milk tea, I did less sugar and it was very light, most places half sugar is too sweet, here I might need full sugar next time, finally the triple green tea, after drinking this I realized I don't really like green tea that much. The prices aren't that high for the galleria and the service was fast for as crowded as it was. It's located by the food court/skating rink area.
Definitely one of my favorite boba places now! I'm dying to come back as soon as I can! I absolutely loved the mango blue cloud drink! It was so phenomenal that I came back within an hour to buy 2 more of the same drink!! It's really that good! I think it is a seasonal drink though, but I wish they had it year round! The barista was very nice and took my order patiently the very first time I ordered. I had a lot of questions about the different drinks because I'm very particular about my boba drinks, and she took the time to help me pick the drink I would like most! She did a great job! The drinks also come out pretty fast, within 5-10 minutes!
I liked the Kale Boost Tea, which had tea, green grape juice, kale juice, lemon juice, cane sugar, and chia seeds. I didn't realize you could specify jasmine green tea or matcha as the base. The drink had some body from the juices and chia seeds. It comes in a cute (branded with the mascot and graphic) plastic bottle, which has a silicone plug top cap that your boba straw fits through.
One of my new favorite boba places! After hearing so much about HeyTea, I'm so glad it has made its way to Houston. From the strong aroma of fresh jasmine tea that it radiates, to the amazing packaging, to the fresh and tasty drinks themselves, everything about this place is great. I tried the Mango Coco Boom, the Mango Grapefruit Boom, the Matcha Cloud, and the Original Jasmine Cloud, and I loved all of them. The mango coco boom had fresh mango chunks and was creamy from the coconut milk and coconut jelly. Though coconut milk can be heavy, the drink was still very refreshing from the jasmine tea slushie. (8.5/10) The mango grapefruit boom was quite similar, but with a more citrusy profile. I loved how there were fresh grapefruit bits in the drink that brighten the flavor. (9/10) The matcha cloud was also very good. I could tell that they use a good quality matcha from the color and that they use a generous amount of it. The matcha taste was authentic and the matcha cream on top was creamy and not too sweet, which I loved. (8/10) The jasmine cloud was my personal favorite. It's everything I look for when I want a sweet treat after my meal. The jasmine tea flavor is so strong, and the "cloud" was very creamy with a hint of sweetness. It is filling and satisfies my sweet tooth without making me feel heavy afterwards. This is the only drink at a boba place that I haven't had to adjust the sugar level for. It's perfect. (10/10) The ingredients are high-quality and fresh, the staff is super nice, and the packaging is next level. The cups themselves are really durable and have very functional tops. I also love how when they package to-go drinks they give you a drink holder that perfectly fits the bag so that your drinks are secure. They also have the option of using 0 calorie sweetner instead of cane sugar which is pretty cool. I highly recommend you give this place a try if you are a boba lover like me. Pro tip: park in the yellow garage at the Galleria it is the closest way to get to HeyTea.
My first visit to a HEYTEA despite wandering by its numerous store fronts in Asia. This one had zero wait so I had to drop in and try its famous drinks! The cashier wasn't too familiar with the drinks - it was comical he kept reading the menu back to me but he gets A for effort because he did ask the back room when he didn't know. This location was very modern with a lot of seating options. It is located in the Galleria food court next to the skating rink. The Daly City location has insanely long line ups and I can understand why. I really enjoyed my Mulberry Strawberry Cream drink and will come back to try their other drinks like Triple Matcha! Dear owner - for the love of efficiency, please put your menus on digital board or upfront! It's so painful to wait while people take their time reading the menu at the checkout .. like me on my first visit! . Also please add descriptions or photos of all drinks - I had to get mine remade because it turned out my drink included sago (yuck) and I didn't know. And also figure out why drinks are so slowly made when there are 6 people working! Ok rant done.
It's unfortunate HeyTea opened up in the Galleria first ... but anyways, it was busy on a Sunday afternoon, and there wasn't much seating, so this is definitely a grab & go establishment. Let me rave about their mobile app real quick. I downloaded it to check out the menu and order online, just in case it'd be more efficient. I'm an absolute sucker for good UI design, and HeyTea's app did NOT disappoint; I spent about 30 minutes looking through every drink and its ingredients + descriptions because it felt like such a luxurious experience (alright, I'm exaggerating a bit). Protip: if you're making an account for the first time and spend $15+ on the app, you can get a 15% discount. :) You also get a sticker with a message on the cup. As for the drinks, I recognize the quality of the ingredients they use and their efforts to keep things natural, such as using cane sugar to sweeten their drinks. I ordered the following: - Mango Coconut Boom: (4/5) My friends said this was the best drink; it's comparable to the Mango Coconut drink from Hui Lau Shan, but this has a green tea base. You can order it as a slushie or a non-slushie, but I personally chose a non-slushie. There was a tart aftertaste; the mango chunks are bigger than HLS, including sago balls + coconut cubes, and even regular sugar. Overall, it was tasty, and it's pretty safe to order! - Oat Matcha Bobo: (3/5) I got this because I wanted to try the blue liquid (spirulina, an algae), and the drink was lactose-intolerant friendly. The seaweed note is interesting; it's an acquired taste. The matcha was prominent + grassy, but it was a bit off-putting to my friends. Unfortunately, my drink wasn't as creamy as I'd hoped, and it might've been watered down because I didn't get to drink it immediately. It wasn't sweet at all, but their brown sugar boba helped. I kept it in the fridge overnight and noticed a minty (?) aftertaste? The addition of Spirulina is quite ambitious, so I can see why it'd cause polarizing opinions. Would I order another drink with Spirulina? If I'm feeling ballsy enough. While their drinks are interesting, I wouldn't say they blew me away. They are stunning to look at, though! I wouldn't suggest HeyTea if you have a major sweet tooth, because I ordered my drinks with regular sugar and thought the sweetness was very subtle, which I don't mind. It's on the pricier end, but there are still several options I'd want to try, so I look forward to its opening in Bellaire!
Fun fact: Heytea notoriously smells bad at many of their franchises- they characterize themselves by their pungent tea smell. My friends and I have experienced it at their LA location AND hong kong location, so it was kinda funny to see the pungent scent diffuser at this galleria location too. BUT fear not, their tea is amazing. My friends and I went after the BOGO grand opening rush and ordered a couple of drinks. We tried the mango grapefruit boom, cloud crisp grape, brown sugar bobo milk tea, and the jasmine tea latte. Literal, all of the drinks were better than I remember. The mango grapefruit boom was so refreshing, the cloud crisp grape had the pleasant asian grape taste that just hits different, the brown sugar mt was nice and creamy, and the jasmine tea latte had such rich tea forward notes that I really enjoyed. I appreciated that none of the drinks are too sweet (trust me I always get 50% or less at boba shops, but I was able to fully enjoy these drinks at 100%). They are a china based company so I guess they are aware of not over sweetening drinks. Love that heytea is finally in houston. Excited to be back. Honestly the only negative is that the drinks are so expensive rip.

Ambiance: There was a small wait when ordering this drink. It is downstairs near the ice rink. The service is mediocre. Coconut mango boom: This drink was fine but it is not my favorite. It is super creamy and milky but I don't taste coconut shining through. Additionally, I got a slight hint of mango flavoring but I wish there was more. It really doesn't have a strong mango or coconut flavor. read more

Finally got to try Hey Tea bc I had something to do at the Galleria today. My friend was hyping up this place as its one of his favorite boba places in Houston. There were a lot of choices to choose from on the menu and honestly all of them looked appealing. But since I wanted to try my friend's go-to order, I stuck with the Jasmine Milk Tea. The default is less sugar which I find just right. Not too sweet and not too bland. You can definitely smell/taste the Jasmine as well. I enjoyed it and would definitely go back if I was at the Galleria again. But since there are a ton of boba shops in the area, I wouldn't personally make a trip down here specifically to just get a drink. read more

Finally got around to trying the infamous Heytea! It's located inside the Galleria mall in the food court right across the skating rink. There isn't much seating available, it's definitely just a grab and go setting. As soon as you walk in, the diffusers release a jasmine scent. The service was quick and pleasant! The cashier taking my order was very nice and answered any question my friend and I had. Since it was my first time here, I decided to try their Supreme Brown Sugar bobo milk tea. I liked the chewiness and flavor of the actual boba and the milk tea was also delicious. Next time, I would opt for a lesser sugar percentage though. My friend ordered the cloud jasmine tea that I preferred over my own drink. Their jasmine tea is extremely aromatic and fragrant and so good! The foam cream on top of the jasmine tea also created the perfect combination of creaminess paired with the tea. The only downside to this is that it is located inside of the Galleria. This is the fourth Heytea location I've been and it has been consistently good at every location. Even though this location is nested at the food court area near the ice skating rink of The Galleria mall where there's a lot of other food smells going around, its freshly brewed tea and floral aroma stands out boldly among the rest. We could smell it before we could spot the store front. My friend was the one who ordered it for us, but I think she got the COCONUT MANGO BOOM which is a HEYTEA classic that comes with plenty of sago, fresh and sweet mangos chunks, and coconut cream. This was so refreshing to enjoy while walking around the mall. Even with light sugar, this was plenty sweet. I would ask for 0% sugar if possible. There wasn't a long line or wait this past Saturday evening. Also plenty of seating since most people grab their drinks and go. read more
I visited Heytea after we heard great reviews from some friends. I wasn't expecting much, but just regular boba with some extra toppings. But wow I was surprised. I got the seasonal blue mango bloom, I absolutely loved the mango sago and all the extra toppings in there. The coconut flavor in combination with the mango was a perfect pair. And the sweetness level wasn't too overwhelming which was great. Seating is limited and the place can get very crowded with a long line, but I would recommend trying some on your next visit to the Galleria. It is $8 so it's a little pricier than other places, but the drinks were great. The ambiance was pretty modern and clean cut. Right by the ice skating rink in the food court area. read more

I loved the clean aesthetic of this place it was very modern and simple. The place had so many different things other boba tea shops didn't have. The cup is also unique too I'm sure other shops have the same top but this was new to me. The lid you slide it and then insert the straw. The service was also what you would expect at a boba tea shop-nice and quick. I ordered the matcha cloud coconut blue and it was so yummy it tasted like a coconut desert and not like just coconut milk. I did add boba in it but it does come with some pieces of coconut or something like that in it already. read more
Heytea, probably the 2nd most hyped bubble tea spot in Houston, after ChiCha. Makes sense to open it first in the Galleria given the competition in Chinatown. July 4th was opening day and the weekend was BOGO. We waited in line around 1:15pm (#317 according to my paper slip) and ended up getting our drinks around 3:40pm. I got the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea and the gf got the Mango Grapefruit Boom, which is a slushie. Both drinks tasted really good, fresh actual cut mango in hers, and mine had a nice thick cloud foam. Their sugar level is probably at the 50-75% level of other places, i.e. less sweet. The line and price give me a little pause, with it being probably the most expensive bubble tea spot in Houston (outside of the 'Gold Foil Boba Milk' at Xing Fu Tang). I'd imagine the line will die down once school starts again, and when the Chinatown location (eventually) opens. So why the 3? The boba. Unforgivable. Honestly I wanted to give it a 2 but the gf liked her drink a lot, but the boba was probably the worst I've had in the last 5 years. It wasn't that nice qq texture and was on the edge of disintegrating, either overcooked or sat too long during the process. It felt like they made too big a batch in preparation for the crowd today. Sure, it was opening day, but this is a MAJOR chain, and this is a big fumble. First impressions make a big deal! Anyways, Heytea is a welcome addition to the Galleria given the few options (The Teahouse, Totally Tea, and Hui Lao Shan). Personally, it hasn't quite earned the wait. I visited during grand opening weekend so the line was very long as expected. It is located near the ice rink close to the food court. The employees were very welcoming, provided a copy of the menu and helped write down your order ahead of time to help efficiently move the line. I ordered the iced cloud jasmine tea & coconut mango boom. The cloud jasmine has a strong floral taste which I usually like and it was my first time trying a drink with cheese foam which had a unique flavor combo with the jasmine tea & fragrant taste. The coconut mango boom was a like a classic Asian flavored dessert in a slushy form. It was sweet and refreshing. I could easily taste the mango flavor the most. I like the sago & jelly for texture! Their cups are cute and I like the twisting lids. Their packaging was efficient in keeping the drinks safe for transportation. There is a classy vibe with a long bench for casual sitting/hangout but probably not ideal for those who want to find a place to get a drink & work. I would come back and try more drinks especially when I'm shopping at the Galleria. read more

Went back to heytea to get their crisp green grape when they had a bogo deal. One drink had foam in it and one didn't. I feel like the foam does make it a little better. It's a smoothie with green grape pieces at the bottom. The drink is refreshing and has a unique texture of real grape pieces with their snappy skin. So good!! Possibly my favorite boba tea spot. I've had this in China (where it's from) and it just so happened that Houston opened up one at the Galleria mall when I was visiting! Although there were a lot of people in line, I was surprised we only waited 15 min. The staff really pumped those drinks out like machines-awesome service! The cashier was also friendly and explained that the bobo drinks come with boba. Their most popular drink is the brown sugar milk tea, which is what I got. I got it with regular sugar and ice and it is just perfection. It's a great mix of tea and milk. It doesn't make me feel bloated. It's a large drink but it feels light yet creamy at the same time. The boba is also super soft and nice to chew on. There are a few places to sit but not a lot. I wish they put the tvs in the front with the menu instead of putting tvs on the side. The drinks are as good as I remembered from my past visits to HeyTea in Singapore and China. I visited on the third day of their grand opening in Houston, and the lines moved very quickly and was manageable (around 30 min total from entering the line till getting my drink). If you are new to the brand, highly recommend the cloud crisp grape, which was the drink that helped the brand rise to fame and revolutionized the boba industry all those years ago. I personally also tried the mango grapefruit boom this time and found it to be a new favorite; it comes with two toppings: sago and coconut jelly. The supreme matcha latte is also very good, and it comes with matcha jelly. Pro tip: before you visit, download their app and check if you can order for pickup to skip the lines. read more
Heytea has officially landed in Houston! Located in the Galleria food court right next to the ice rink, they held their grand opening over the July 4th weekend and the hype was very real. I arrived an hour before opening and was already 54th in line. The queue wrapped around the ice rink, and I ended up waiting about an hour and a half. To celebrate the launch, they offered a BOGO deal and handed out limited-edition magnets in exchange for a Google review. I tried the Mango Grapefruit Boom and the Supreme Matcha Latte, both with minimal sugar and light ice. The Mango Grapefruit Boom was bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with tartness from the grapefruit and a nice texture from the sago topping. The Supreme Matcha Latte leaned a bit milkier than expected, but still hit the spot for a matcha fix. Overall, I'd come back to explore more of their menu, but the long wait and higher price point make this more of an occasional treat at this time. If you're not in a rush, I'd recommend waiting until the initial excitement settles down. read more
I was excited to hear that there was a grand opening as I've heard many high ratings about this chain from China. They did a BOGO free deal with their drinks as well as a cool Houston-inspired magnet giveaway if you show them your google review! My brother and I tried the Mango Grapefruit Boom, Supreme Matcha Latte, Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea, and the Mango Coconut Boom. This place truly gets 5 BIG BOOMS! The tea quality is absolutely amazing and all of the drinks were delicious and were not too sweet. The matcha latte was topped off with matcha foam and came with matcha jelly. The boba was perfectly cooked with the right amount of chewiness and complemented the tea very well. All of the workers were very sweet and helpful in answering any questions we had about the drinks. I recommend downloading the Heytea app as it allows you to scan the barcode of your order to keep track of when it'll come out (how many drinks are in front of you, how long the wait time is); it truly is innovative and is steps above the average boba chain experience. read more

heytea offers a creative menu with stunning and colorful drinks. i hiiiighly recommend downloading the app and ordering through there to speed things up. the ui/ux provides a delightful experience, and it gives you a comprehensive breakdown of all the layers that go into each drink! you also get to choose a sticker to go onto your cup which is SO cute. we ordered 3 drinks, which were hit or miss - matcha cloud coconut blue: definitely our favorite of the 3. the coconut water, milk, and jelly is a coco lovers dream without being overpowering. the matcha cloud stirred in complements it for a refreshing, light flavor - magnolia milk tea: pretty fragrant but a leans a bit too much on the floral perfume side... almost a little artificial? i enjoyed it but wouldnt get it again - tiramisu milk tea: who lied and named it tiramisu PLSSS. it was pretty disappointing since it didnt have any cocoa or espresso taste. the marscapone didnt taste right which overall made the drink a slightly salty milk with a hint of soggy cookies overall the service was really friendly and despite the insane amount of orders they get, theyre pretty organized and diligent. the drinks lean on the lighter, less sweet side, and customizations to add on clouds, sub for oatmilk, light ice, and sugar free sweetener all come at no extra charge!! read more
I've been to their galleria location and few times at this location and omg! Probably now one of my fave tea spots in bellaire. Their tea is so strong here but also are not too sweet, which means it's perfect!! I love their cloud type drinks and their mango coconut boom is now one of my top favorites. Came here for their BOGO Wicked drink which was pretty good! My usual go-to drink is the coconut mango boom, which I LOVE, but their matcha is always pretty good too! The Wicked drink had more of an herbal taste and reminded me of a jasmine milk tea. Overall I always love their drinks! I order through the app so it's super convenient to swing by and pick up. read more
Honestly wasn't my favorite. The service is slow and the drinks are not too flavorful. I had the coconut blue matcha drink and my friend had the magnolia latte - both of them were pretty forgettable. Not sure what the hype is but won't be back. read more
