Ting Tea is very under the radar compared to other Chinese boba shops in Chinatown. Their menu focuses on fresh fruit drinks or drinks that show off their fragrant teas. This location is hardly ever busy so you can get in and out. I tried the white peach oolong milk tea. The peach notes are subtle and don't overpower the oolong tea. The tea itself is decently strong. I think I would've preferred a stronger peach taste. Overall though, it's still a solid drink and would be my go-to if I visit again.
I got the white peach oolong lemon tea. I usually get the osmanthus lemon tea but decided to go with something new. It was light and refreshing and definitely not acidic like my go to. Service was fast and efficient and the price was the same as most other boba shops ($7.50 for medium).
Cute little gimmicky tea pots placed on top of your drink if you want to post on social media. Self service machine or place your order with the cashier.
I've tried a number of drinks at TT, but my go-to is the Creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Tea. In fact, that's the main reason I regularly visit this spot. Because I go often, I had accumulated enough points and decided to redeem them this past Sunday. I ordered two Creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Teas and informed the cashier that I would like to use my rewards points. What followed was a confusing checkout experience. While I was told I had enough points for a free drink, I was still charged an additional fee for "creamy," and the breakdown at the register was not clearly explained. The interaction mainly involved being told I had a free drink while still seeing an extra charge, without a clear explanation of how it was calculated. At first I thought that toppings aren't included in the free drinks that is why the cashier is charging me extra BUT I didn't order any topping the creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Tea is a whole menu item. Afterward, I realized the issue likely comes down to the rewards system not applying to all drinks. On top of that, the two drinks I received were noticeably inconsistent. The first Creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Tea tasted as expected and was very good. The second, however, tasted quite different and lacked the same flavor and quality, despite being ordered as the same drink. For anyone using rewards here: I'd strongly recommend checking the fine print on what your points actually cover before ordering. The cashier will not explain the limitations of the redemption, even when asked directly why you are being charged, which only adds to the confusion during checkout.
Came here for their dry ice display of their drinks. Unfortunately, they ran out (on a busy holiday weekend too), so I just purchased the mini teapot with my drink anyway. You are only allowed to purchase 1 per drink since they are only $3. Language barrier made it confusing to ask questions. Huge selection of teas and the lady was a lil' impatient so I just ordered the first drink that sounded good. Got the white peach tea oolong lemon tea. Delish! Cute, but crowded spot to enjoy tea. They have a sign that you can't be too loud in there. It was loud when I went so not sure what that was about. Besides the iffy service, tea was good.
I was in awweee at this spot. This is the first tea spot I have seen that has a Alice and Wonderland feel! It is one of a kind! I like they offer cold teas but with a variety of teas but that is not the best part. They have cheese teas, milk teas, lemon teas, fruit teas, and bubble teas. They utilize small tea cups for a small price for the experience. They also have a a variety of tea leaves to choose from. Also, they have samples to smell so you can make sure you like your tea! They have two sizes of teas and great pricing as well. I love how even the color and design of the cups have so much detail and color. The seating is great for enjoying company or studying. Service: The staff was very great and knowledgeable about the teas. Very helpful and friendly! You can tell they enjoy what they do. Do know it is a small tea shop so please be patient. The teas are worth the wait!! I will be back not only because of the experience but because of the first class service that was provided. Thank you Ting Tea we need you in Bellaire!
Of course we came here for the mini smoking ceramic tea cups! They are so adorable! So they have a display of cups but only certain ones are avail at any time. We chose our drinks and waited. It did take a bit of time bc anyone who got the ceramic cups can choose to do the smoke show. Which was very cute and worth it! This place is small inside and jammed pack with people. It was very freezing inside ! We got our drinks and hurried along. I got their classic jasmine milk tea - good, reminded me of Molly tea but not as strong in fragrant. 100% sweet is not overly sweet. My sis got their peach boba smoothie 80% and that was sweeter than my drink. It was good though.
Got the white peach gardenia tea and my brother got the eight times scented jasmine tea. Both teas were good, nice and creamy with a great fragrance. The designs are cute. I wish they had the tiny teapots available because I think it's a cute gimmick. The main reason this didn't get a full 5 stars was that service is slow. You order from a kiosk and your number goes in. It was a long line just for the singular kiosk and then afterwards, it was an even longer wait. Despite there only being 4-5 people in front of us, it still took almost 45 minutes to get drinks and we had to ask them about it before they realized they had not prepared one of the drinks. Hopefully with a little more time, the speed will pick up! The tea is great and I'm looking forward to trying their other options.
What if I told you that Ting Tea is actually GOOD - perhaps even much BETTER than its 3 stars on Yelp/Google would portend? So good, in fact, that I've been here 3 times in the past 3 weeks? Bellaire may be under HeyTea's spell right now, but the lines inside and outside Ting Tea's door suggest a more-than-worthy competitor. With their mysterious proprietary tea machine, cup after cup of freshly mixed tea is prepared like clockwork before your eyes. And although batch brewed, the aroma and quality of the tea base is remarkable - I'm especially a fan of the EIght Times Scented Fresh Milk Tea, which is perfectly sweetened and boasts a gorgeous, floral aroma that stands out from most other bubble tea shops in the neighborhood. Why 4 instead of 5 stars? The service flow is still a bit of a mess, and drink demand unfortunately outpaces even the most efficient tea barista crew unlucky enough to be working a weekend evening shift. With their footprint and the constraints of the tea machine, there isn't much more they can do to expedite their workflow - we may all just need to practice more patience while awaiting our beverages. The true OGs won't mind - you'll know it's worth it from the very first sip ;)
The former Bubble Egg locale, yet another tea house has appeared in Chinatown. Having opened in recent months, it seems the initial hype has slowed a bit, so I was finally able to check it out on a weeknight. There was plenty of parking but I can see it getting crowded on the weekends. The interior has been nicely renovated with a very wooden, "teahouse" feel to it. After placing our order through the kiosk by the window, the order took quite a while. There were two workers who were supposed to be making the drinks. One of them looked confused and tried to look busy, and ultimately the other girl had to make all the drinks, which definitely slowed down the process. My bride ordered a Brown Sugar Pearl Roasted Milk Tea, which she was thoroughly disappointed with the lack of tea flavor and aroma. This is ironic given that the aroma of tea is so strong when you enter the shop. I will say there are better tasting options at a lower price point. My White Peach Oolong Milk Tea was not memorable, so at $6.50 you aren't getting much bang for your buck. Given how Chinatown has so many alternatives, I don't foresee this spot being in my rotation.
Their jasmine lemon tea, and peach oolong tea are really good. However, their service needs more attention because a few of our drinks on two occasions were wrong. Also, their system has issues in terms of sugar and ice selection: the person taking the order said that we could not do zero percent sugar even though the menu said we could, and then we could not do zero percent ice in another drink because they only do 100 or 70 percent, but again the menu said we could. Very confusing!! Also, they never have any of the tiny tea pots or tea cups. Always sold out. We have gone early on the weekends. Early on weekdays. Unprepared for the demand when they have only been open for a month or less.
All these haters giving low reviews for long wait times during their grand opening.. I will say that a month after grand opening going on a Sunday afternoon, I got my drink in about 15 min, which I think is typical for any of the more popular boba spots here. You know the place is gonna be tea-focused when you see tieguanyin and gardenia on the menu. Whereas other boba places tend to focus on the boba or creaminess (think Chicha), the drinks here have a stronger, more distinct tea flavor compared to other boba shops, but their boba is also not half bad itself!
Among the vast boba shop crowd in Houston, especially in the Bellaire area, Ting Tea brings hype, but also a reason for it, as you should see below. And... the taste is good too! So first off, since this place is relatively new, and it certainly has had some hype to it, much like most new places with similar characteristics (y'all may remember ChiCha Sanchen had lines out the door when it first opened), Ting Tea has lines out the door. And the size of the shop is smaller than ChiCha. That said, the interior design for seating is as efficient as can possibly be, and there are a couple of tables outside too. And hey, this all didn't stop me because I had seen these cute mini teapots that you can buy with your drink from a friend's Instagram story and I am admittedly totally a sucker for cute marketing ploys! It's not just the teapot - the worker at the counter puts in some dry ice and then adds water for this steamy/cloudy effect that's just unbelievable presentation. You can order whatever drink you want to go with. The teapot goes on top, doesn't interfere with the flavor of the drink. Yes there's a $3 cost, but it's worth it to me. The ideas here! This is so great. So even though I've only tried one drink, I decided I had to write this review. The presentation and ingenuity are that off the charts. And that drink, by the way, the jasmine mango tea was delicious. It operates very much like a mango sago (side note: I MISS Yumcha's tangy mango sago tons - Feng Cha's version is not quite the same, as much as I totally enjoy some of Feng Cha's other drinks). I will say I didn't get as much grapefruit pulp in mine as I would ordinarily like to go with the mango plus coconut notes, but still tasty and better than Feng Cha's mango fantasy, since I do enjoy mango tons. I will say these mini teapots have an understandable/inevitable tendency to sell out. They are in demand. So if there's not much selection available as to which teapot, just keep that in mind to adjust expectation level. My nieces love cats and this mini teapot is like a mini kitten. It's the cutest thing. Being the devoted uncle as I am, I can't wait to see the expressions on their faces when they witness firsthand the process of the teapots steaming! And this place is located a few doors from a Miniso location. Perfect for my uncleness goals! Ahhhhh much love from me, despite the long lines. Plenty of parking, by the way. It's located in the Welcome Plaza on Bellaire that is very visible for those driving on Bellaire heading from Highway 59 towards the Beltway. For location, just picture it's kind of opposite corner as Hokkaido in that plaza. I'll be back!

Personally love the eight time scented jasmine milk tea (way better than Molly Tea's). I get it cold with 30% sweetness! The workers are always friendly, but it can be a bit difficult finding seating if it is really busy since the store isn't that big. read more
TingTea is such a cute spot with traditional Chinese-style dresses as decor and tea jars out for you to smell before ordering. We got the White Orchid Milk Tea and the Mango Sago (non-slushie version, they let you choose). This was my first time trying orchid tea and it was pretty good. I got it at 70% sugar and it ended up a little too sweet for me, so I'd go with 50% next time. You can purchase a little teapot for $3 to place on top of your drink with dry ice for that smoky effect, and you get to keep it and take it home after! They have different teapot styles to choose from too, which was very cute. Staff was really friendly and helped walk me through the whole teapot process. read more
If I didn't know any better, I would've thought their menu was Molly Tea's, it's very floral and varietal forward, which is good! Taste-wise it was decent but not particularly memorable since I went here near their opening and I didn't leave thinking I was going to want to go again in the future. The line then was crazy. As for the mini-pots, they're cute but pretty gimmicky (aka social media bait) since they don't do anything and the 'steam' is just dry ice. You can pay $3 for the experience and souvenir, but realize you don't have dry ice at home, so it's mostly a one-time thing. I'd maybe go again if I'm desperately in need of my boba fix and didn't want to make my way to Dun Huang plaza. Hopefully, the line isn't long. read more

I really liked the jasmine green tea the first time I got it during the bogo deal earlier this week; however, I went again today and the drinks were not good at all. They tasted nothing like the ones we got earlier even tho they're the same drinks. The drinks today were very watery and lacked a lot of flavor overall. I am hoping and want to give them the benefit of the doubt that they're new, so hopefully the drinks stay good consistently in the future. I would give this place a couple weeks or months before trying again. The service is alright. They are busy especially since they're new and everyone has been wanting to try. I would go here if you have the time to wait. My friends had to leave without their drinks ready since they had to go after a few minutes. On the bright side - the place is cute. read more
Ting Tea recently opened up in a new location and I'm so glad to have tried it! It's such a fun and creative concept. I've been seeing these drinks go viral on Instagram because they sell the mini teapots, which give a steaming effect from the dry ice that gets added in the pot. The mini pots are so adorable. I almost want to collect them all. Note that each mini pot is $2.75, which you can add to your order. Tip: take your photo quick since the strongest effect is in the beginning when you receive your drinks. I ordered their Creamy Bamboo Fragranced Tieguanyin Milk Tea (70% sweet, 70% ice). The sweetness level was perfect for me. It's not too sweet and the Tieguanyin tea is strong and aromatic. The staff is nice and friendly and I see them working really hard to make all our orders perfect. It can get busy, especially since it's only been a few days since their opening. Their Cantonese playlist was also a hit. It's a vibe. I will return whenever I'm in the area! read more

I had high hopes for this place. I wanted a teacup and I love the original Brown Sugar Milk Tea. I got it the way it comes. I wanted to try it before tinkering with it. When I walked in there was a line and I knew there would be a wait so I wasn't worried about that. What I wasn't expecting was the annoyed workers. I wanted the green cat teapot but they only had the pink one. Its still cute and I told the cashier I still wanted it. I asked when they get more and she looked at me like I was wasting her time and said 2 weeks - a month. So I got no real answer. I went to my table to wait for my drink. When my number was called I had no Teapot. I waited till the server had a minute and she was grabbing teapots. I let her know I was meant to get one as well. She then looked at me annoyed too and told me she would take care of me when she was done with the other customer. She then proceeded to take 5 minutes to set up 2 tea pots with dry ice and water. then set up mine after. Not sure why she couldn't do all 3 together but ok. I understand being busy but why did I get attitude when I was being nice? I want to try the Watermelon drink but I think Ill try a different location. read more

We basically ordered by looking at what previous customer was ordering and asked them to make it for us. I got the mango milk with mochi since it was on the top drinks menu. But wasn't too much of a fan of it. To be honest, Idk why I got this drink bc I prefer tea and I don't like extra boba ball like textures so I was just setting myself up to not like this... will have to come try again read more

Drinks were so good. I got a grape slush and it was a fresh grape flavor not that fake candied grape woth a hint of honeysuckle at the end. My sister got a milk tea with a tiny tea pot. I was not a fan of the milk tea but she thought it was really good. The service was not great. They weren't paying attention to your order they were dismissive when asked questions and my sister bought the tea pot and they forgot it so she had to wait in line for 10 minutes for them to add it. Even though service was sub-par there was a lot of people and it was rather loud. read more

Highly recommend the mango flavored drinks here! I went like 1.5 weeks after opening. There's some seating both inside and outside the shop. There was no line when it came to ordering on the kiosk. I didn't love the taro drink, as the tea base was strong but the taro taste wasn't really there. The mango sago is the replacement I've been looking for since Yum Cha closed down. The teapots were sadly out of stock. We had a large order so they gave us a reusable to go bag. read more

bellaire is oversaturated with boba places but i was really hopeful that this chain would be good after all the hype ive seen about it. the menu is creative, packaging is pretty, and everything sounded so refreshing... except it was disappointing. we ordered a variety of drinks: white peach gardenia, white peach oolong, eight times scented jasmine, strawberry matcha blueberry, grape slush smoothie, but all of them were watered down. paying $6.50-$7.50 for milk and ice was really underwhelming... and their little teapots were sold out too :( the place itself is pretty small so theres not a lot of space to sit or even stand. the line and wait were quite long, so maybe the quality will improve when they're not so busy. idk tho theres so many other boba places id rather try before coming back here read more

I ordered the yuzu matcha jasmine and I did not tasted the yuzu, matcha, or jasmine. All I tasted was grapefruit. Why is grapefruit in matcha? And the fresh grape slush, what's in the toppings? Because it tasted like sticky rice My friend ordered the matcha brown sugar milk tea and she said it tasted like bland milk and the tapioca was hard. And they ran out of the tea pots. Anyways, won't come again. #validcrashout read more
From the mixed reviews I honestly did not have high expectations for this location. To be honest it was better than I expected. The drinks were not the best but it wasn't bad either. I decided to get 3 drinks to try. I got the Dancong oolong lemon tea, Thai tea & fresh mango milk with taro balls. The lemon tea was sour and the tea flavor was strong. Thai tea was exceptional after I let them know that it wasn't sweet at all. They were nice enough to add more syrup to give it more sweetness. I think the person that made my drink was new so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. The tea was rich and flavorful. Boba was also good, it was sweet, bouncy and chewy (great texture). The mango milk was below standard in my opinion. Presentation was lacking and it did not look like the picture on the menu. Taste wise, it was boring and the taro balls wasn't fresh in my opinion. Overall, the experience was fair, staff was nice and the decor was inviting. Will I come back? Definitely wouldn't go out of my way but willing to give them another chance. read more

Ting Tea is a great Molly Tea dupe with the addition of the novelty of their steaming tea pots. Every since they opened in Chinatown, I've come at least once a week. The workers are friendly and the interior is small but cute and clean. read more

I went there on Opening day. Since it was raining not many people were there. Yay! I got the deal of buy one get one. I would say their lemonade drinks are great and those little tea pot are super cute. The service was great. The space was little tinny. But overall, great place to hangout. read more

Very good and strong tea. I got the brown sugar drink with 30% sugar and it is really good. We came during the soft opening and there was a long line but also a bogo deal. Loved my tea and the staff was super nice despite being busy. There is a self checkout screen as well to expedite the process. read more
