It was pretty good. I got the mango sticky rice drink and it was good. The rice could have been a bit more tender but overall good. The inside is cute. I asked a basic question about the drink when ordering and the employee acted like it was a dumb question but it was my first time there and I didn't know if it was going to be slush like or more tea like. I thought it was a legit question and she could have been nicer about it.

White Peach Oolong Milk Tea

Ting Tea is very under the radar compared to other Chinese boba shops in Chinatown. Their menu focuses on fresh fruit drinks or drinks that show off their fragrant teas. This location is hardly ever busy so you can get in and out. I tried the white peach oolong milk tea. The peach notes are subtle and don't overpower the oolong tea. The tea itself is decently strong. I think I would've preferred a stronger peach taste. Overall though, it's still a solid drink and would be my go-to if I visit again.

I got the white peach oolong lemon tea. I usually get the osmanthus lemon tea but decided to go with something new. It was light and refreshing and definitely not acidic like my go to. Service was fast and efficient and the price was the same as most other boba shops ($7.50 for medium).

Cute little gimmicky tea pots placed on top of your drink if you want to post on social media. Self service machine or place your order with the cashier.

I've tried a number of drinks at TT, but my go-to is the Creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Tea. In fact, that's the main reason I regularly visit this spot. Because I go often, I had accumulated enough points and decided to redeem them this past Sunday. I ordered two Creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Teas and informed the cashier that I would like to use my rewards points. What followed was a confusing checkout experience. While I was told I had enough points for a free drink, I was still charged an additional fee for "creamy," and the breakdown at the register was not clearly explained. The interaction mainly involved being told I had a free drink while still seeing an extra charge, without a clear explanation of how it was calculated. At first I thought that toppings aren't included in the free drinks that is why the cashier is charging me extra BUT I didn't order any topping the creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Tea is a whole menu item. Afterward, I realized the issue likely comes down to the rewards system not applying to all drinks. On top of that, the two drinks I received were noticeably inconsistent. The first Creamy Dancong Oolong Milk Tea tasted as expected and was very good. The second, however, tasted quite different and lacked the same flavor and quality, despite being ordered as the same drink. For anyone using rewards here: I'd strongly recommend checking the fine print on what your points actually cover before ordering. The cashier will not explain the limitations of the redemption, even when asked directly why you are being charged, which only adds to the confusion during checkout.

I was in awweee at this spot. This is the first tea spot I have seen that has a Alice and Wonderland feel! It is one of a kind! I like they offer cold teas but with a variety of teas but that is not the best part. They have cheese teas, milk teas, lemon teas, fruit teas, and bubble teas. They utilize small tea cups for a small price for the experience. They also have a a variety of tea leaves to choose from. Also, they have samples to smell so you can make sure you like your tea! They have two sizes of teas and great pricing as well. I love how even the color and design of the cups have so much detail and color. The seating is great for enjoying company or studying. Service: The staff was very great and knowledgeable about the teas. Very helpful and friendly! You can tell they enjoy what they do. Do know it is a small tea shop so please be patient. The teas are worth the wait!! I will be back not only because of the experience but because of the first class service that was provided. Thank you Ting Tea we need you in Bellaire!

Jasmine milk tea and peach boba smoothie

Of course we came here for the mini smoking ceramic tea cups! They are so adorable! So they have a display of cups but only certain ones are avail at any time. We chose our drinks and waited. It did take a bit of time bc anyone who got the ceramic cups can choose to do the smoke show. Which was very cute and worth it! This place is small inside and jammed pack with people. It was very freezing inside ! We got our drinks and hurried along. I got their classic jasmine milk tea - good, reminded me of Molly tea but not as strong in fragrant. 100% sweet is not overly sweet. My sis got their peach boba smoothie 80% and that was sweeter than my drink. It was good though.

Got the white peach gardenia tea and my brother got the eight times scented jasmine tea. Both teas were good, nice and creamy with a great fragrance. The designs are cute. I wish they had the tiny teapots available because I think it's a cute gimmick. The main reason this didn't get a full 5 stars was that service is slow. You order from a kiosk and your number goes in. It was a long line just for the singular kiosk and then afterwards, it was an even longer wait. Despite there only being 4-5 people in front of us, it still took almost 45 minutes to get drinks and we had to ask them about it before they realized they had not prepared one of the drinks. Hopefully with a little more time, the speed will pick up! The tea is great and I'm looking forward to trying their other options.

Came here for their dry ice display of their drinks. Unfortunately, they ran out (on a busy holiday weekend too), so I just purchased the mini teapot with my drink anyway. You are only allowed to purchase 1 per drink since they are only $3. Language barrier made it confusing to ask questions. Huge selection of teas and the lady was a lil' impatient so I just ordered the first drink that sounded good. Got the white peach tea oolong lemon tea. Delish! Cute, but crowded spot to enjoy tea. They have a sign that you can't be too loud in there. It was loud when I went so not sure what that was about. Besides the iffy service, tea was good.

What if I told you that Ting Tea is actually GOOD - perhaps even much BETTER than its 3 stars on Yelp/Google would portend? So good, in fact, that I've been here 3 times in the past 3 weeks? Bellaire may be under HeyTea's spell right now, but the lines inside and outside Ting Tea's door suggest a more-than-worthy competitor. With their mysterious proprietary tea machine, cup after cup of freshly mixed tea is prepared like clockwork before your eyes. And although batch brewed, the aroma and quality of the tea base is remarkable - I'm especially a fan of the EIght Times Scented Fresh Milk Tea, which is perfectly sweetened and boasts a gorgeous, floral aroma that stands out from most other bubble tea shops in the neighborhood. Why 4 instead of 5 stars? The service flow is still a bit of a mess, and drink demand unfortunately outpaces even the most efficient tea barista crew unlucky enough to be working a weekend evening shift. With their footprint and the constraints of the tea machine, there isn't much more they can do to expedite their workflow - we may all just need to practice more patience while awaiting our beverages. The true OGs won't mind - you'll know it's worth it from the very first sip ;)

The former Bubble Egg locale, yet another tea house has appeared in Chinatown. Having opened in recent months, it seems the initial hype has slowed a bit, so I was finally able to check it out on a weeknight. There was plenty of parking but I can see it getting crowded on the weekends. The interior has been nicely renovated with a very wooden, "teahouse" feel to it. After placing our order through the kiosk by the window, the order took quite a while. There were two workers who were supposed to be making the drinks. One of them looked confused and tried to look busy, and ultimately the other girl had to make all the drinks, which definitely slowed down the process. My bride ordered a Brown Sugar Pearl Roasted Milk Tea, which she was thoroughly disappointed with the lack of tea flavor and aroma. This is ironic given that the aroma of tea is so strong when you enter the shop. I will say there are better tasting options at a lower price point. My White Peach Oolong Milk Tea was not memorable, so at $6.50 you aren't getting much bang for your buck. Given how Chinatown has so many alternatives, I don't foresee this spot being in my rotation.

Anthea R.

Their jasmine lemon tea, and peach oolong tea are really good. However, their service needs more attention because a few of our drinks on two occasions were wrong. Also, their system has issues in terms of sugar and ice selection: the person taking the order said that we could not do zero percent sugar even though the menu said we could, and then we could not do zero percent ice in another drink because they only do 100 or 70 percent, but again the menu said we could. Very confusing!! Also, they never have any of the tiny tea pots or tea cups. Always sold out. We have gone early on the weekends. Early on weekdays. Unprepared for the demand when they have only been open for a month or less.

All these haters giving low reviews for long wait times during their grand opening.. I will say that a month after grand opening going on a Sunday afternoon, I got my drink in about 15 min, which I think is typical for any of the more popular boba spots here. You know the place is gonna be tea-focused when you see tieguanyin and gardenia on the menu. Whereas other boba places tend to focus on the boba or creaminess (think Chicha), the drinks here have a stronger, more distinct tea flavor compared to other boba shops, but their boba is also not half bad itself!

The lounge like ambiance, along with their diner-like menu, is a major selling point for folks and has been one of the reasons for their popularity over the better part of the last two decades. It is a bit trendy and plays music that you would think of and in a Miami lounge or a pretentious New York Club. While service is not their strong suit, the clean bathrooms, spacious seating, and semi-open kitchen makes up for some 'tudes from the staff. The menu is most definitely Asian, but blends from a predominantly Chinese menu and featuring various Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese items. The latter includes sushi, which is likely one of the only spots in the neighborhood that still has it after midnight. They have bluefin tuna and sea urchin, in which Cafe 101 is one of the only late night spots to offer it. Their beef chow fun is nice and greasy, but filled with excessive onions, bean sprouts, and various other veggies that almost take away from the noodles and beef (which was nicely cooked). Their shrimp and egg came in a nice set, which was a good surprise and surprisingly well executed. This is also a spot for Japanese curry, and even though it's not the best, it most certainly does the job. Taiwanese popcorn chicken is on point, cumin lamb is unsurprisingly spicy, and Singapore chow mai fun has a tinge of solid wok hei. (#1) I'm genuinely not a fan of their soups and think the sushi rolls are not their best work. While they also have milk, tea options, unless one is desperate, I would also steer clear of. Parking in the early evening can be an issue at Don Huang Plaza, but after 11pm, the parking options should be abundant. I would consider coming here in a larger group, especially with late night owls. ___________ (#1) Wok's essence (鑊氣)

I've visited many times and have been impressed with the consistency of both the tea and boba. My go-tos are the Cassia Black Tea, Dong Ding Oolong Tea, and Green Tea, all with Cream and Bubble. I typically order their drinks with less lce and light sugar, which have been perfect for me. Their fruit teas are also delicious, although I would definitely recommend reducing the sugar level to allow the tea flavor to shine through. The size of their drinks is also perfect for me; large enough to enjoy but small enough to not be overwhelming. At this location you can order at the kiosk or at the cashier, which helps to expedite the line especially when it gets busy. You could consider studying here, especially with its notably large tables, however seating is limited and it can get loud during rush hour. I would highly recommend Chi Cha San Chen, especially if you've never tried a high-quality, tea-forward milk or fruit tea.

Rather than preparing large batches of tea ahead of time, the tea is brewed individually when you place your order using their signature tea-press technology. You can really taste the difference--the tea is fragrant, fresh, and flavorful. My absolute favorite is the King Bubble Black Tea with Cream. The combination of the rich black tea, creamy topping, and chewy king pearls is just SO good! I was also pleasantly surprised that the Houston location still offers the Taro Series. The taro drinks are another favorite of mine, and it's wonderful to see that Houston has kept this part of the menu. After visiting CHICHA San Chen in different places, I can honestly say that Houston holds up beautifully. The tea quality, fresh preparation, and overall experience are exactly what I have come to expect from the brand. CHICHA San Chen never fails to deliver! If you're a serious tea or boba lover, this is definitely worth a visit.

The coffee and milk tea are also pretty good. Most of the menu consists of desserts, and there are quite a few options that vegetarians can enjoy. Despite how busy this place gets, the service is surprisingly efficient. The line moves at a reasonable pace, orders are handled quickly, and the staff are consistently polite and professional. What I particularly appreciate is that everyone is treated equally, regardless of who they are. Even when four police officers arrived together, they still waited in line like everyone else. And here comes the most unexpected part of my visit: I actually ran into Steven Adams of the Houston Rockets! I was genuinely surprised to see an NBA player here with his girlfriend. What impressed me even more was how down-to-earth and friendly he seemed. They patiently waited in line like everyone else, and when the item they wanted turned out to be unavailable, they simply left without making a fuss. That little moment left a really positive impression on me. The location is convenient, with a spacious parking lot right in front. Inside, the shop is bright, nicely decorated, and roomy enough to sit back and enjoy your desserts comfortably. The layout is wheelchair-accessible, with plenty of space to move around. There are also a few outdoor tables for those who prefer sitting outside. Even when the place is packed, the noise level is still manageable, so you can actually enjoy a conversation without feeling overwhelmed by the crowd. Overall, this place gets a big thumbs-up from me for its delicious desserts, efficient service, and welcoming atmosphere. And if I'm with my boyfriend, he always spoils me and allows me to get 2 (one for the next day, of course)! One of my favorites is the Biscoff Banana Pudding Matcha. It's basically a dessert and a pick-me-up in one, so obviously I'm going to support that kind of decision-making. It's creamy, sweet, and with the crunchy textures, it's just such a fun combination. The other thing I am OBSESSED with here is the croffles! Easily one of the best I've ever had. They're super fresh, buttery, and have the perfect texture. But honestly, the cream they put on top is what really gets me. It's not overly sweet or super heavy, which I appreciate because I would like to enjoy my dessert without downing a whole glass of water... or maybe... a matcha? lol My boyfriend and I like coming here every now and then and sharing a croffle (because apparently we are capable of sharing things), and we love the indoor and outdoor seating areas too. It's such a cute little spot to hang out, grab a drink, eat something sweet, and just chill. Now for the one downside: the parking. If you know, you know. The parking situation is... less than ideal, especially considering this is Bellaire. But honestly, if you're coming here to grab a drink, eat, play on the claw arcade, and get a dessert, I'd say it's worth surviving the parking chaos. Pro tip: CALL AHEAD AND ASK IF THEY STILL HAVE CROFFLES! I learned this lesson the hard way. One time, I brought a large group of friends here after dinner specifically so everyone could try the croffles... only for us to find out they had just run out. SAD! You can imagine my devastation after hyping them up. They actually felt really bad and told us that we could call ahead next time to check if they still had any available, which I thought was incredibly nice of them. So now I'm passing that wisdom along because I refuse to let anyone else experience the heartbreak of arriving croffle-less. Overall, such a cute spot with great matcha, delicious croffles, and a fun little atmosphere. Just prepare yourself mentally for the parking situation and CALL AHEAD FOR THE CROFFLES!!!
