Very yummy coffee. Clean interior, quick service! Price is $6 for each coffee, which is standard for the area. This is my 2nd time here! Definitely stop by!
I love, love the Vietnamese coffee from this place! It is so strong and creamy! Definitely will only get a small size cup because the caffeine amount is crazy. Make sure you pick one with a cream on top because it completes the whole drink. I had the ube cream top which was awesome. They have plenty of options like egg cream, black sesame, pandan, etc. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area!
Vietnamese coffee spot with some hype located in Chinatown. Their black sesame coffee drink tasted exactly like sesame paste on top of a standard Vietnamese coffee. It's good but exactly what you would expect. The interior is a bit crowded and ordering is done at their iPad in front. The drink is fine but I definitely would not wait in a line for it.
Tried it again now that the hype has died down and it was honestly so much better than when they first opened. The banana flavor was very good, didn't taste artificial and the matcha was strong and not watery or overly milky. They're still a bit busy but not enough to where you can't grab a seat and enjoy your drink. I'll definitely be back for more matcha!
So sad to see Mr. Wish go. It was my go-to fruit tea joint. Trung Nguyen E Coffee took over their spot. This particular location is smack dab in the busiest section of Bellaire. Traffic to get in and out is horrible! Parking is a struggle on busy days. Fortunately, once you park here, you can pretty much grab some drinks, baked goods, play claw machines, go grocery shopping, etc. Trung Nguyen serves espressos, matcha, phin coffee, phin drips, teas, and white coffee (lighter version). Toppings are $1-$1.50 and includes grass jelly, coffee jelly, cream, single shot, or extra matcha. I've tried their egg coffee, coconut coffee, ube coffee, pandan coffee, and black sesame. Although I love all of them, my current fav is the black sesame! YUM!! I've yet to try their matcha and teas, but Trung Nguyen is always on our list whenever we're in town- so I will for sure try their other drinks at one point or another. Viet coffee is everywhere in Houston (and I love that). With Trung Nguyen, your drinks are consistent, and you can always count on getting the strongest coffee (not watered down) whenever you get their coffee.
I am a harsh critic when it comes to coffee, maybe even more than I am when it comes to food, and this pandan Vietnamese coffee combo absolutely blew me away. Houston's Vietnamese coffee scene is incredibly strong, but not all cups are created equal. What I loved about this one was how rich, bold, and deeply coffee-forward it was without ever tasting burnt or bitter. The coffee had that intense Vietnamese coffee flavor you want while remaining smooth and balanced from start to finish. Paired with the pandan, it was a perfect combination. The pandan added subtle vanilla-like and floral notes along with just the right amount of sweetness. Best of all, it was not overly sweet, which is where a lot of specialty coffee drinks miss the mark for me. The flavors complemented each other beautifully without either one overpowering the other. That said, this place is chaotic. If you're in a rush, I probably would not recommend it. My coffee took about 20 minutes, and the operation felt busy and hectic. Honestly, though, it was worth the wait to try authentic, high-quality Vietnamese coffee in Houston. If pandan is not your thing, don't worry. They have a huge menu with plenty of other coffee and drink options to choose from. For coffee lovers, this is the kind of place worth seeking out. Houston continues to impress me with its Vietnamese food and coffee scene, and this spot is another reason why.
I personally found this place to be a bit overrated. While I love that they offer a unique variety of foams for their coffees, the actual flavors fell short. I tried the egg foam coffee, black sesame foam coffee, and the ube foam matcha. The black sesame and egg foam tasted almost the same to me, and the ube matcha lacked the matcha flavor. I can taste a little of Ube in the Ube foam, but not as much as I would have liked. The drinks look pretty and colorful, but they don't quite taste as good as they look. Service wise, the staff were incredibly nice and efficient; even though there was a line when I arrived, they worked quickly and it moved fairly fast.
This location is very convenient and it's one of my favorite matcha spots in Houston. I got the Coconut Matcha and was a little disappointed because I remembered it being better. But then I came back the next day to get the Banana Matcha Latte and it was amazing. It tastes really fresh and just the right amount of banana + matcha to complement each other. I will say (and maybe it's a personal thing) that it was a little thicker than I would have liked but I finished my drink so fast. I wasn't able to grab a drink before it started mixing. The ambiance and service are also quite nice. I was able to get some work done here and there are a good amount of tables for either chatting or getting work done. I went on a Thurs and Fri morning and the music was at a good volume though does get a little loud at times. Sometimes the staff will bring you your drink which I thought was nice of them. I would say that this place is a must try!
i've been coming here forever and always get matcha, but today's visit was especially worth updating my review for. Andy helped me today and was genuinely so kind. i'm always indecisive when ordering and he was so helpful walking me through his recommendations and different options. he was patient, welcoming, and made the whole experience so easy. he had such a great attitude and honestly just made my day. my matcha was perfect like always, but the service today is what really stood out. Andy was amazing and absolutely deserves the recognition!!
I was in the area for lunch and needed a little coffee fix afterwards. Trung Nguyen E Coffee is a newish Vietnamese coffee shop in Chinatown and somewhere I've been wanting to try out. It's located in a large shopping complex but that particular corner is concentrated with a bunch of other popular coffee shops and bakeries. It made parking in the general vicinity somewhat difficult. As expected on a weekend, the place was super busy. The inside is very cool and modern looking. I can't speak on the customer service because of an ordering kiosk and minimal interaction with the staff. It's cool and all, but since it was my first time, it would have been nice to ask questions. What this place is known for is phin coffee which is a type of drip coffee that gives you a much higher concentrated brew. They have all sorts of flavors for that but they also have a lighter version called white coffee. I wanted something lighter so I went with the Banana Cream White Coffee. It came out pretty quick and I was on my way in no time. Upon first sip after getting in my car, I almost turned around to get another coffee because the drink was so delicious and I had only went with a small size. This drink was amazing. Yes it was the "lighter" version, but I could still taste the coffee. The banana cream topping was a first for me but who knew banana and coffee combined could be such a delicious flavor. I took my time and savored this drink. If you like matcha, they also have quite a few options for that. They also have teas and espressos. There was a display of different cookies that I later found out was a big seller. Prices are a little high and the lack of human interaction to order was my only complaint. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable cup of coffee. I think I'll even go as far as saying it is one of the better cups of coffee I've had in Houston. I will most definitely be back!
The cookie was delectable. I'll buy a Half dozen next time I go, I will never order pistachio coffee again though. I don't think it tasted bad I just don't think that I'm a pistachio flavored coffee type of guy. I had never been here so I wasn't familiar if it was a small business or not so I asked the cashier if he knew the owner, he responded by saying "girl he's in Vietnam" I'm a guy..and don't really pass for a woman at all, I hope not atleast? Idk. He apologized after but yeah kinda off putting. It was clean and smelled good in there though
i got the pistachio cream coffee, and wow! i didn't know it was served with vietnamese coffee, i was expecting an espresso based latte so i was pleasantly surprised. it's very rich and smooth, honestly one of the best vietnamese coffees ive had. It isn't overly sweet, and was very balanced. the workers were friendly, and the cafe itself is cute with ample seating :)
I got the salted cream phin coffee and my friend got the ube cream white coffee. The salted cream phin coffee was good and very strong as expected with Vietnamese coffee. I loved how it was creamy but I could still taste the coffee. The ube cream white coffee was more sweet and dessert like than the sea salt phin, but just as strong. Super authentic Vietnamese coffee! Will be back for more!

I'd heard about the place for a while and finally had the chance to try it out while in the area. Ordering on the kiosk was a bit annoying, you couldn't complete the order without providing a phone number even when you opted out of the reward program. I gave up and ordered with the staff instead. I got the black sesame cream phin. The black sesame cream was rich and had a subtle peanut flavor that paired well with the strong Vietnamese coffee. The cream is very thick, so it was difficult to get both cream and coffee in one sip unless you fully mix it. Overall, a nice coffee spot with Asian flavor profile, especially if you are looking for strong caffeine. But I wouldn't wait in line for it. read more

Trung Nguyen E Coffee is known for their twist on Viet coffees (adding different flavors like ube, pandan, etc.). They also have a variety of matcha. You can order at the kiosk or with the cashier. It can get crowded sometimes, but the drink wait time isn't too long. I've always been satisfied with my drinks. I definitely think they're worth the hype! read more

Atmosphere is pretty standard for a coffee shop. The size is just about the same as a starbucks. You can either order on the tablet or at the counter. When I got there it did have a few messy tables but as soon as I was leaving the workers did start cleaning the tables. I tried the large pandan specialty coffee. I could hardly taste any pandan and only vietnamese coffee. They had a bunch of different options and a variety of blended flavors with Vietnamese coffee. read more
I was so surprised to see there was a Trung Nguyen E-Coffee in Houston! I had it for the first time in Dallas and I loved it. Fair warning, this coffee is so STRONG. If you want a Vietnamese coffee where your heart is palpitating from the caffeine, this is your place to go. I love the cream tops and the drinks are all good. We ordered the egg coffee, corn coffee, and pandan coffee. I need to come here again before I leave! read more

I come to Trung's almost exclusively for their matcha drinks. I was very late to the matcha craze because I simply could not understand how it could be THAT good. I finally caved and gave matcha at Trung's a try and I've been successfully converted. I am a believer. The Classic Matcha Latte is a great pick - It's where I started. However, I'd see people order fruit with their matcha and decided to give it a try. I didn't think it would be a good combination, but here I am proven wrong for the second time. The Mango Matcha is my go-to. I like to order it with either no sugar or half sugar. Its the perfect combination of a fruity tang and earthiness. read more
Small Vietnamese coffee shop with minimalistic decor. You can order at the kiosk or at the counter. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their drinks. I've been here twice so far. The first time I went, I got the sweet corn cream phin coffee. It was good! The sweet corn flavor was light and subtle. This time, I ordered the ube cream white coffee. According to the staff, they add more milk to their white coffee, making it a lighter version of the phin coffee. If phin coffee is too strong for your liking, I suggest trying out their white coffee. I actually prefer the white coffee over the phin coffee because I could taste the cream more. If you're a big fan of Vietnamese coffee, I highly recommend trying this place out! read more

Fun flavors and the customer service was really personable. You can try the cream flavors. They gave advice on what we should order. I got the egg cream foam coffee which was a tad sweet but creamy. I think that it would be better cold but it was freezing outside. My sister got the coconut crème coffee cold and that was pretty delicious. The coconut came thru - very smooth and very creamy. Only real negatives were the price vs the amount of coffee you get. There was a bit too much ice. read more

The shop is very modern and well le It. You can order in person on using the kiosk both were very fast. We ordered the matcha latte which and match cookie which both are 5 stars. I am looking forward to coming back and trying other drinks. Highly recommend, the matcha is good! read more
I ordered the Butterfly Pea Latte with oat milk, which consisted of various toppings such as basil seeds, herbal jelly, and sago (?). One of the workers told me they weren't usually allowed to replace the whole milk with oat milk (RIP my lactose intolerance issues), but the fact that they went out of their way to fulfill my request was appreciated, so excellent service! But truthfully... I wasn't a fan of what I ordered. The Butterfly Pea Latte essentially felt like I was drinking straight milk, with a subtle, grassy flavor from the blue butterfly pea syrup; nor did the toppings significantly enhance the flavor of the drink. I know Trung Nguyen is more well-known for their coffee and matcha, but I wanted to give the Butterfly Pea latte a shot. This review is more about expressing my grievances with the drink rather than the business itself, so next time I return, I will definitely try the coffee and matcha and update my review. read more
If you didn't get to go when you went to Vietnam, here is your chance, they have plenty of options between coffee/ matcha. I like trying out new or seasonable flavors. They currently have Japanese pumpkin cream, sweet corn cream for seasonal flavors. Right now I'm OBSESSED with banana foam, it's sooo good. I have been back 3x already in one month, and I live 40 min away on toll. The line moves through pretty quick, separate line for cashier/ ordering on iPad. I would say your order is ready in less than 5 minutes after placing. Parking is shared with other establishments so it's in n out, always a line as well. Highly recommend but keep in mind the coffee can be strong, so you might be wired! You have been warned! Hehe read more
Trung Nguyen is a fantastic Vietnamese coffee brand and their commitment to eco-friendly practices through sustainable farming and support for local farmers in Vietnam makes them even more impressive. I discovered them during my extended stay in SoCal last year so I was thrilled when I heard they were opening a franchise in Houston. In the beginning, the franchise owners were present more and this enhanced the overall experience but now the customer service is a hit or miss. My go-to drinks are the Ube Iced Coffee and the Strawberry Matcha Latte, both of which are perfectly strong and balanced in sweetness. The interior of the Houston location is just as stunning as the one in SoCal. If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend stopping by and grabbing a coffee drink. read more
If you're ready for your coffee to punch you in the face with intensity, you've found your next coffee spot! It can sometimes be crowded and a wait so prepare for that. Pandan Cream Specialty Phin Coffee: my favorite. Sea Salt Cream Specialty Phin Coffee: good but not something I'd get again. Strawberry Matcha Latte: wife really liked it. Though I'd limit the sweetness cause the strawberry jam is also sweet. A bit too crowded for me to work at but would definitely swing by for a coffee to go. read more

The matcha latte itself is very well made with strong notes of matcha and a very smooth texture. When it's done well, it's done well =] *** iced americano espresso You definitely get what you asked for! The Americana espresso is simply that. Espresso, water, and more espresso. The density is very light but the flavor packs a super strong punch. The interior is well put together and nicely decorated with plenty of seating and lighting. I was always curious about Trung Nguyen coffee as the place is normally packed during the night/prime time hours. I happen to be in the area before the dinner time rush this time and stopped by. No lines! I am in sort of an Ube Latte/Coffee kick lately and man was the Viet coffee strong!! Loved it. The sweet cream of the Ube mixed perfectly well and it still tasted great the next morning when I finished the rest. Clean overall. I definitely could see why it gets crowded! Fast service, no complaints. read more
Trung Nguyen eCoffee got lots of social media attention. Thanks to the influencers who produced the attractive videos. This restaurant is always packed. It only offers coffee and few tea items, and pastries. I ordered the Soursop Tea. It was sour alright, but fragrant. Not overly sweet. It was pretty refreshing. For me, I don't drink coffee and I don't drink caffeinated drinks after 2 pm. Therefore, this is not a place I would want to visit frequently. read more

I came back to give them another try. I don't know if I came back on a really good day, but my opinion has completely changed. I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte. It seemed popular since I was told they sold out, and recently stocked it again. I've heard mixed reviews about their matcha, so I didn't have high expectations. The matcha was actually really good. The initial sip of the matcha was strong and a bit grassy. Grassy isn't a bad thing, depends on who is drinking it. Once mixing the drinking, the mango purée provided the perfect amount of sweetness. The slight grassy taste of the matcha disappeared. The mango purée didn't overpower the matcha. I enjoyed my drink a lot! My boyfriend got the pandan cream phin coffee. Personally, the coffee itself is still a bit too strong for my liking. The pandan cream is very thick, but yummy! Once completely mixed, it was delicious. The intensity of the coffee lessened. So so good. This definitely won my boyfriend over. Way better than the black sesame cream coffee, in my opinion. We came during noon on Saturday, and there was still a constant line. I guess that shows how loyal their customers are. I plan to comeback to try their blueberry matcha and coconut matcha cloud! read more
I was excited to finally try this new Viet coffee cafe! I grew up on Viet coffee and I liked how they offered a lot of unique coffee options! The parking lot is spacious and can get busy with other shops nearby like 85 degrees depending on the time you go. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I ordered the black sesame cream phin & pandan cream phin. Unfortunately, I didn't catch that the employee entered matcha cream phin instead until I got my drinks, but I didn't bother to ask for a correction. They had a small pastry display case with croissants, muffins, kolache and cookies. I like the large wall display of merch including various colored coffee filters & the Trung Nguyen legend world map. The drinks came out pretty quickly and I liked the to go bag which sections off the drinks to prevent spills. The black sesame had a very bold flavor & a hint of chocolate aftertaste and I was on a strong caffeine high all day which typically doesn't happen. I will definitely consider drinking earlier in the day. I ended up giving the matcha drink to a family member who did enjoy it! I definitely want to go back for a Pandan drink now! read more
I've been here twice to try out their drinks, and both times it was just good enough for me to come back. As far as their coffee, they have it down because it's strong and flavorful however their teas need some major improvements. Considering it's only a couple of tea flavors it's just not good at all. My first time here I ordered their black sesame cream coffee and a lychee green tea. The coffee was strong and the black sesame was tasty. On the other hand the tea was very weak, lychee flavor was there but I didn't taste any tea at all. I had to doctored it up when I arrived home and made my own green tea. I mixed my tea with the drink & it tasted better. This past Friday I decided to give them one more chance after I ate some Korean BBQ and once again it was just a fair experience. I got the Ube coffee along with a hibiscus tea. The coffee was very strong and the Ube was flavorful but their hibiscus tea didn't have any tea flavor. When it comes to their coffee, I have no complaints but they need some help in brewing stronger teas because it just tastes weak & diluted. They have some pastry for purchase to enjoy with your coffee. The decor is nice but they need to do better in wiping down their tables, it's always dirty. Expect a wait since they're pretty busy but they do an awesome job with making your drinks in a timely manner. Service is also pleasant. Will I come back? Yes, only to purchase their coffee, I'll pass on their teas. read more
This shop is pretty busy especially on weekends but they are very efficient at what they do, and will get your drinks out in a timely manner. This is definitely a grab and go or sit and yap type of place, not sure if anyone could study or WFH here due to how busy it is. I really enjoy their coffee. It's strong and flavorful even though their drinks are a bit sweeter, you can still taste the coffee. Matcha I thought was okay, I've had better. But I'm more of a coffee person, so idk. read more

We came a week after their final grand opening. I had seen and heard a lot about it during its soft opening so we were excited to try. The menu seemed pretty extensive and I was really hoping to try the mango matcha latte but it was unfortunately sold out at 5 pm on a Saturday. There was a line of about 8-10 people when we got there but it went relatively quickly as you could order from either a kiosk or through an employee at the counter. We got a large black sesame cream and a medium matcha cream specialty phin coffees. There were a few things I was disappointed in: - The large is barely any bigger than the medium but a whole $1 more - They don't fill your drink all the way if you ask for less ice (as seen in pic) - I feel like the foam is so thick that it's hard to mix with the drink so you can hardly taste it until the end after you've drank all the coffee I will say the Vietnamese coffee itself is really strong and bold, not too bitter with just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. read more
Trung Nguyen Coffee might be my new favorite Vietnamese coffee shop in Houston! Walking in, the interior was very bright and clean. There's a decent amount of seating where you can get some work done if needed. We went on a weekday, and luckily there wasn't a line. I have heard this place gets busy though so I'd be cautious during peak times like on the weekend. Drinks wise, we loved their ube coffee, black sesame coffee, and coconut cream coffee. The coffee here is STRONG like it should be! The respective flavoring like ube, black sesame, and coconut cream are prominent as well without being overly sweet. 10/10 would recommend any of their coffees. Overall, I'll be a regular at Trung Nguyen Coffee for sure! I haven't tried any of their teas yet though so we'll have to save that for the next visit, enjoy! read more

It's a bit tight inside, so just be mindful when standing in line. There's not a lot of room, and people will need to squeeze by to get to their seats or in and out of the door. The menu has a nice variety! Not too overwhelming, but enough options to feel like you're not limited. It strikes a good balance I would say!! I visited midday on a Friday, and again Sunday morning. Although they're still in their soft opening phase, it was fairly crowded. Thankfully, the line only reached the front door and moved quickly. Service was great as everyone was super friendly and welcoming! I got to try a variety of different drinks all thanks to going with friends. Here's my honest take on each: Sesame Cream - 4/10 This one was just okay for me. The coffee was strong, but the sesame added a gritty texture that didn't really work for me. A few people recommended it, so maybe I had high expectations on the flavor. Egg Cream - 8/10 I loved this one! The creaminess from the egg balanced perfectly with the bold coffee flavor. A friend suggested sipping it straight from the cup (no straw), and that really made a difference!! You get a perfect mix of both layers. Coconut Cream - 8/10 Very similar to the egg cream but with a light coconut twist. I didn't expect to like this as much as I did, but it's definitely a standout. Sea Salt - 7/10 I was surprised by this one too. I'm usually not into sea salt in drinks, but this worked. The salt helped balance the coffee and gave it a unique flavor. Worth trying! Blueberry matcha-10/10 The flavor was on point and the milk had such a creamy finish! It was almost like drinking a melted ice cream IMO! It was honestly the best matcha I've had this far! I'm super impressed and seriously cannot wait to get another matcha!! Pro tip: Ditch the straws and sip straight from the cup--it really changes the experience (and hey, save the planet--it's 2025!). read more
