Stopped by really quick on a Saturday for a matcha to-go. The store was decorated in a minimalistic way and looked very clean. It was quite packed inside, as was expected for a Saturday. The matcha took some time to come out, but I didn't mind too much as I could see how hard all of the servers were working to whisk the matcha. The matcha was lighter than what I normally drink and it was quite pricey (~$9). I'd normally drink it stronger, but to add an extra shot would make it a $11+ drink. While I appreciate this matcha shop being added to the community, I think the price could use some work.

Tough competition for Matcha this time in Houston as a whole picture. Wish Whisk grow well. Best,

I wanted to like Whisk Matcha Bar so badly. The location is in a strip of stores off of Holcombe in West University. There isn't a good matcha shop in this area, so I was super excited to hear of them. The parking can be tough in this location, but I've visited twice now and found a spot. You can order online or in-store. The aesthetic of this store is my favorite part- very zen, pretty and clean. They are well staffed, which is always appreciated. I do like that they hand whisk their drinks and the preparation is intentional. I overheard that they source their matcha from Japan but it isn't any sort of brand name. I haven't found my drink here yet. I've had two drinks: 1. Earl Gray Matcha Latte- I mostly tasted the milk here. I didn't even finish the drink. Very mid. Nothing special. 2. Strawberry matcha with oat milk & a matcha cloud. The matcha cloud gave it more matcha flavor. The strawberry puree wasn't sweetened. The matcha itself was just fine. I wish it was a bit stronger in flavor, as I mostly tasted the milk. I have a gift card here, so I'll definitely give it another try. If I didn't, I'm not sure I would be back :( next time, I want to try the sesame syrup.

My favorite thing about Whisk is the interior. It was just so pretty; the light wood elements, Ikebana - japanese flower arrangement. The decor is so whimsical it just made me happy I tried their MONT BLANC MATCHA. This one is definitely unique. I haven't seen another cafe with this flavor combo. The orange zest added the citrus brightness that paired well with the earthy matcha I'll wanna come back & try some of their other syrup flavors. The price can add up if you make some customization but for the location it makes sense. Such a beautiful place to sit down with a book or your laptop.

Currently in their soft opening so they have limited hours. Grand opening is this weekend (5/30 and 5/31)! Solid matcha spot. They truly do take the time to whisk the matcha and prepare your drink properly. I love how they have a black sesame syrup because not many places offer black sesame. They allowed me to sample a small sip of the black sesame syrup before fully committing to it. (Grateful for that.) So I went with the matcha latte, 50% ice, with oat milk and black sesame syrup. (They subbed out the agave with the syrup fyi.) Friendly and pleasant service! Very clean and spacious enough to not feel crowded sitting next to another person. Would come back again to try their other drinks, which is why I'm currently giving 4/5 stars. A little on the pricier side, but kinda expected it with being in West U.

Our group ate lunch nearby and wanted to try a boba or drinks spot. We saw Whisk Matcha Bar and decided to try it out. The interior is akin to a coffee bar but with a "matcha" bar, watching the staff whisk the matcha powder and whatnot. The drinks were pricey; $10 after tax, which is stiff even for 2026. Overall, I adjusted the sugar level and adjusted to oat milk on my drink. It was good but also nothing that I can't make almost exactly at home with ceremonial matcha. Interesting concept but this is a very trendy idea that has tough competition as well. For this price point, it better be a home run and it's not.

Aesthetic of this place is great, service is fast, but unfortunately the matcha is very underwhelming.. I got the earl grey matcha and it tastes like milk. Over $9 for a drink I'm not even going to finish.

Perfect addition to the neighborhood! I absolutely love trying new matcha spots whenever I go on vacation, and I am so glad they just opened up Whisk right in town. The interior is so bright and welcoming. On this visit, I tried the Cold Whisk Matcha and Earl Grey Matcha Latte. The Cold Whisk Matcha was very earthy and smooth. The Earl Grey Latte had the most perfect syrup that paired perfectly with the matcha. It was a great combination of earthy flavors. Overall, I had a great visit at Whisk. The drinks are very well made. The team is very friendly. I can't wait to try their other matcha drinks in the future!

Very well thought out cafe with a lovely Japanese-esk vibe. There is a bit of hype right now regarding whisk matcha so it was a bit packed. I ordered the strawberry matcha and a double hojicha latte. Although they were crowded, service was quick. I honestly didn't love the strawberry matcha. It had very little taste and non of the strawberry flavor came through. The hojicha was far better but I had actually ordered the double hojicha and only noticed the mistake when I got home. Between the price and the mistakes. I don't think I would be returning.

I've been passing this rather new establishment frequently and decided to stop in today. Upon entering, there were only 2 customers inside and they already had their beverages and were just sitting. The decor was pretty basic, but it was neat how the setup was so that you could see them making the matcha. The drinks themselves couldn't justify the high price, unfortunately. I ordered 2 of the iced strawberry matchas - one for me and one for my kiddo. Those two drinks were near $21 with tax and were comparable to Starbucks' tall size! Upon my first drink of it, I was not impressed. There was no sweetness whatsoever - it was actually a tad sour from the matcha. The strawberry additions were good, but I had to wait until I was home to doctor it up to make it drinkable. All in all, I won't be back. In my opinion, the Starbucks next door has better tasting matchas and nowhere near as expensive as Whisk even if you ordered their largest size.

This one of my fav matcha places. The mont Blanc is a unique blend with orange zest and matcha. I liked the citrus flavor with the grassy matcha. The citrus flavor didn't overpower the drink and paired well. They let you adjust the sweetness and even asked if I wanted to adjust the sweetness level. I got it at 50% sweetness and that was like the perfect balance of sweetness for me. I could taste the quality of the matcha. This is a good refreshing matcha. They also use real strawberries. The atmosphere has the open concept where you can sit at the counter almost like a bar. You can watch the barista make drinks.

This is the one place I keep coming back to for Matcha. It doesn't matter what drink I'm picking from the menu, I always walk out planning when I'm coming back for more. The service is friendly, welcoming and looks very clean. The shop itself inside is so cute and zen with the flower decor and tranquil nature. Def recommend you try it out. Also they host workshops! I've since learned how to make my own matcha at home and painted a nice glass for a date night! Ps. My favorite is the strawberry matcha latte

I went to whisk matcha bar for their soft opening. This new location in WestU makes it pretty convenient from my school. I decided to keep it simple and just got the regular matcha latte. It came out pretty quick. It is pretty small for the price but I could tell that their matcha quality is on the higher end. Even then, I felt like it could've used more matcha flavor as I didn't think it was strong enough. This place has a few tables as well as bar seating so could be a good potential studying spot when the hype dies down a bit

As a coffee lover with an adventurous palate, I was excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, this experience was unrewarding. We ordered three drinks the Anna's Special, iced white chocolate almond latte with almond milk, and an iced pistachio vanilla latte with almond milk and none of these drinks lived up to their names nor the listed ingredients that were listed. The coffees in my opinion were flavorless, watery, and underwhelming. We picked a cocktail at random to try which was the Anna's Special and trust me there was nothing special about this drink other than the prices. This establishment has some really good price options when it comes to coffee, cocktails, pastries, wines, and other beverages. The barista's were very friendly, welcoming, and sweet. The restaurant offered indoor and outdoor seating with cute colorful pictures, artwork, and signatures on the wall. Would I return? Maybe not

My friends had raved about the strawberry blondie latte and I can see why they did! My first visit, I tried it with quarter sugar but found myself craving a little more sweetness. I got the half sugar order today and it was perfect - a lovely sweet strawberry taste at the bottom that you can mix in with the coffee. I love that it is iced and comes with dried strawberries floating at the top! You can customize sugar and milk options but it's $1 extra for oat milk. All the staff are really friendly and were happy to talk me through the flavoring options of various lattes. I got the mocha latte for J and he really enjoyed it. The layout of the interior was slightly confusing, you have to walk all the way to the back left corner to order your coffee, and it was next to the restrooms. (Thank God the restrooms were clean.) I ordered the vanilla latte (kind of like the safe thing to order at a new place?) and to be honest, first sip was a disappointment. The barista prepared it well, it was not burnt, but the issue is when you do have someone prepare it well and it still doesn't turn out well means there's an issue with the quality itself. It fell flat in terms of flavor. The espresso overpowers the flavor of everything else. Which normally is a good thing, but usually in lattes I'm expecting a nice mix of syrup, milk, and espresso. The bitter of the espresso takes over the latte. I'm sure this place had some other delicious choices, but this was not the coffee shop for me.
