Vibrant, green and not swamp looking color? check Hand whisked? check Ceremonial grade? check Beautiful interior? check My favorites depending on my mood: - mango - a classic can't go wrong - cloud - hydrating and slightly creamy - honey jasmine - lighter with the perfect floral balance - wakaba latte - just matcha and milk. simple yet delicious Other honorable mentions: - banana pudding - the perfect dessert drink enso has set the standard for good matcha and will ruin your matcha expectations everywhere else. There's about 4 grams of matcha per cup so you will be caffeinated. Parking can be a bit of a pain due to the surrounding businesses. Just take a deep zen breath before making your way there cause once you go enso, there's no going back.

I cannot say better things about this place!!! My new favorite matcha spot in Houston, service is amazing there is usually a small line but it moves quickly. Tried their new ube banana pudding recipe and it was phenomenal. The matcha is top quality you can't beat it.

I've been here twice already, and I loved it both times! The service is quick, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and informative. The shop itself is on the smaller side, but it's super cute. There are seats along the bar where drinks are made, and built in seating along the wall with a few small round tables. Heads up: It's located right next to Snooze, and the parking lot is in the back. It's pretty tiny, so you might have to do a few laps before finding a spot. Nowwww my matcha review :) Before we get into it: This place is definitely on the pricier side! On my first visit, I spent about $20 for two matchas. On my second visit, I spent around $23 for one matcha and a croissant. 1. Mango Matcha (1st visit) - 10/10 This was my personal favorite! It's definitely on the sweeter side because of the mango, but the staff mentioned they can make it less sweet if you prefer. I 1000% recommend this one, and I'll definitely be bringing my mango loving husband to try it. 2. Strawberry Matcha (1st visit) - 9/10 This wasn't as sweet as I expected, but it was still really really good. I can absolutely see why it's one of their best sellers. 3. Mango + Strawberry Matcha with Matcha Cold Foam (2nd visit) - 8.5/10 Honestly could've skipped the $3 matcha cold foam, they have other flavors for less expensive. Mixing the mango and strawberry made the drink a little less sweet than the mango on its own, but the mango definitely overpowered the strawberry. 4. Matcha Croissant (2nd visit) - 1000/10 I honestly don't even know how much this was but WOW this thing was AMAZING. Dare I say life-changing? The croissant was sooo soft, flaky, and buttery. It practically melted in my mouth. The matcha topping had a smooth, silky finish that tied everything together perfectly. Worth every penny!!

Enso finally has a brick n mortar!! After going to so many of their pop ups, I'm so happy for them for how far they've come. Overall, this is the BEST matcha in Houston. First off, their store front is beautiful. It immediately made me miss visiting Japan. They even have the high tech Japanese toilet to match haha just trust me and go to the restroom here. Jokes aside, their matcha is legit. Every single drink here is phenomenal. Made to order, hand whisked, and so many creative flavors to choose from. If you want traditional, I like the wakaba the best. Otherwise, my other favorites are their pandan matcha einspanner, murasaki, hokkaido fog, mint condition, or the biscoff banana pudding. If you haven't been to Enso yet, you're honestly missing out. There are many matcha spots in Houston now, but there truly is only one Enso. Cheers!

This place is pretty legit, although extremely busy a lot of the time. If you don't want a line, come early. They hand whisk their matcha and during busy times, you can sit at the bar and watch them make it, which is pretty cool.

I've heard this is some of the best matcha in the area so I was so happy when they opened up next to my gym. I stopped by Friday morning after my workout and the line was out the door right at open time (8am). I didn't know what to get but the lady taking my ordered mentioned the mango matcha was one of their most popular items so I got that. I really enjoyed the drink! It was sweet but not overwhelming. I've had mango matcha before but this was significantly better. They are fully staffed to accommodate their popularity and the volume of business they are getting right now and I really appreciate that. Despite having about 10 people in front of me order before me, I was in and out in 10-15 minutes. The place itself is really nice and modern inside. Even the bathroom is super nice in there. I love that its close to the gym so I can just walk over after my morning workouts before work now. Yayyy!

Heard all the hype of this place so of course I wanna try too. Order the pandan matcha both of my favorites flavors. It was OK not as I expect to be something amazing in the taste.

The place looks modern inside and has a Japanese vibe. There's bar seating and you can watch them make your drink. They have uniquely crafted drinks on their menu. I tried two different drinks so far and both of them were top tier. I tried the matcha eispanner with pandan added flavor. This one was sweet and had some whip cream in there. The other drink I tried was the wakaba which had a nutty flavor to it. The wakaba had more of the traditional matcha flavor with nutty notes. The parking is the only downside to this place. It's a paid parking lot and so the matcha is best to go especially since the place is small inside anyways.

My brother and sister-in-law introduced me to this spot, and I'm glad they did! The shop is small and quaint, with simple, minimalist decor that creates a cozy atmosphere. There was a steady stream of customers coming in and out, but the service was fast, and our drinks came out relatively quickly. I ordered the Hokkaido Fog, and it had a nostalgic Fruity Pebbles flavor that I loved. It was so good! I'll definitely be back to try more of their matcha drinks.

Houston Matcha Pop Up finally has a storefront! Their matcha is co-branded with Kettl. Overall, their matcha flavor was pretty light (or I personally just prefer a strong matcha flavor). Ordered: - Biscoff Banana Pudding Matcha Latte - Banana pudding itself was pretty good. Seasonal drink. - Matcha Einspanner I like the interior vibes. It's very modern japanese vibes. Wouldn't recommend working/studying there (it was a bit loud), but it's a nice place to sit and chit chat. We went on a Sunday in the mid afternoon, a couple weeks after their storefront grand opening, and the wait was about 15-20 minutes.

    Uji homare
    Edwin M.

It was my first time trying their drinks, I ordered the Uji Homare and the mint condition. The Uji Homare tasted like hojicha, it was creamy, rich and flavorful The other drink mint condition was refreshing while still having subtle notes of matcha, I recommend this one if you don't like your matcha too strong. The cashier was very helpful since I didn't know the name of one of the drinks but since I described it she helped me figure it out. The inside of the store has a very authentic Japanese style feel to it, while having alit if natural light however there aren't that many places to sit inside and it does get busy quickly.

I'm not a crazy matcha fan. Stopped by as a post workout pick me up as the line was not out the door. It's a nice clean setup with a matcha bar/counter. The wait was about 15 mins for us. They have quite a team working diligently through the orders. I have to say this was a very enjoyable matcha drink. The mango did give it more sweetness but it was very smooth, not chalky or grassy as I normally feel like matcha sits on my palate.

    Seasonal Banana Pudding Matcha

Delicious matcha. It is a bit pricey but if you want good quality great balanced matcha I would 100% recommend this place if you're in the heights. I got the seasonal banana pudding and it was amazing, although the pudding was a bit too sweet for my liking, it was great banana pudding. It was pretty busy and even then our drinks came out pretty quickly. Will definitely be back.

I actually did not get to try anything here, and I do not plan to return…read more Before visiting, I specifically checked Google Maps because I had my dog with me. The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

My beloved Boomtown RIP…read more This pains me to write. Different is certainly not always better, especially when what you had was already working. I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.
