I appreciate this sign so much! Folks need to understand the difference between an emotional and support animal! Thank ya!

I ordered the small vanilla cappuccino. The price was almost or about $5 or so, I was expecting less but a did read a news article about the price of coffee increasing. I was looking to try something different and would pass this place frequently. Decided to stop and order. Cashier was not really helpful as I was new, I guess I could have asked for a suggestion. Quick service though on a Tuesday morning.

The Heights is home to a number of cafes, but few offer the kind of space that Roast & Brew has to offer. While the coffee is was what I came for, the abundance of chairs and solid access to WiFi and outlets is what got me to stay. Plus the notion of a European style cafe *and* coffeehouse was the appeal. On an average day, it's a hub for young professionals and remote workers rocking some kind of beverage and/or snack. The natural lighting is a nice touch, but I also appreciate the use of shades when it's too bright. There are many outlets along the u-shaped cushioned seats near the front windows. It's really just a matter of a snagging a spot since it's so popular here. House music tends to be the choice here, which might be a slight deterrent for taking calls. Just the sheer amount of people (#1) don't make it completely ideal for a coffee meeting / date, but lounging is also encouraged. The hibiscus tea ($4.70) and my nitro cold brew ($5.25) were both refreshing in their own way. The latter had a nice aftertaste and felt strong enough to sip versus guzzle. They also offer champagne, premium wines, and a good amount of craft beers, both locally and internationally. There is an all day breakfast available, which includes a customized omelette ($9.49), breakfast sandwiches ($9.95), and a breakfast plate that includes hash brown patties, sourdough bread and eggs. The rest of the menu has a Middle Eastern flair to it, which includes kebabs ($17), gyros ($15.45), along with falafel salads and sandwiches. I thought their cheeseburger ($13.75) looked so tasty and I would definitely consider trying their pasta options ($14-15). Service was the highlight for me, since they were engaging, friendly, and were generous with the samples. Only issue was that they weren't the quickest with bussing tables, which forces a lot of patrons to wipe down the spots themselves. When they did buss the tables, I noticed no microfiber or any cleaning solution. Lastly, parking is substantial with a dedicated lot, but for a full house, most of the parking will be across the street. Be careful when crossing the road. __________ (#1) And people watching.

Found this coffee shop through google and it's so cute this is my second day in a row being here. I wanted a coffee shop with work space, WiFi, accessible plugs, no loud music and actual food options and this has EVERYTHING! The omelette I had yesterday was so good I went to buy all the ingredients to make my own at home, but you know how sometimes you do it yourself and it's not as good? I didn't want to risk it. So. I'm back The young ladies making the coffee are sweet and helpful. Coffee you get at the counter. Food they bring to you. There is a breakfast and lunch menu with FOOD FOOD on it. Not just pastries. They have beer and wine options as well. I love it here!

This coffee shop was lovely for studying! The ambiance was great, with a majority of the customers working, having a coffee meeting, or studying, so it felt like a very productive atmosphere. A nice spot if you need a meal + need to get some work done. Lots of outlets along the edges of the restaurant. The coffee (flat white) was excellent as well and came with a shortbread cookie! Got fries as a little snack, and would probably pass on them next time. Just a bit limp and didn't have the iconic crisp fry texture to them.

Roast & Brew is such a cute neighborhood gem in the Heights. I stopped in while waiting for my tires to get fixed down the street and was pleasantly surprised by the vibe. Plenty of people were hanging out, working, and enjoying a laid-back morning. I ordered an iced flat white and the traditional breakfast. The eggs over medium were perfect. My only gripe? The hash browns. They were chopped up like home fries, and honestly, can we as a society just agree to follow Waffle House's lead and standardize shredded hash browns as the gold standard? Let's unify, people. That said, everything tasted great. And bonus points to the team at the counter who were kind enough to loan me a phone charger after mine died mid-bike ride. You can bike here from Midtown almost entirely on trails, with just a few small detours due to construction. Super convenient. Also worth noting: they had some unique food in the chilled case like feta pie and rice pudding. Definitely not your average café snack situation. I'm looking forward to coming back and exploring more of their menu. Great spot for locals, cyclists, or anyone looking for good coffee, good vibes, and a solid breakfast.

I tried this place for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. The interior is beautiful and quaint, with a bold decor style that was absolutely my vibe. There were plenty of seating options, both booths and tables. Ordering was easy and the service was great. I love how the pastry display was clearly visible and how fast our drink orders were made. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and was blown away. The croissant was flaky and buttery and the fillings of sausage and egg, among others, were complementary. The caramel macchiato with almond mild was also just the right amount of sweetness. I am so glad to add this wonderful breakfast spot to my go-to list!

Got Caffeine? Roast & Brew does!! Not only do they serve a variety of delish drinks, they also serve some cold beer and wine. What a fun place and lots of seats indoors and outdoors. If you are looking for a place to hang out with your loved ones, friends or just solo...come check them out! Chow Chow Time!!

Breakfast Croissant with Bacon - 4.5/5
    Jay N.

This spot is such a lovely spot, we went on a Sunday and it was basically packed, very small parking lot. The restaurant was quite loud & loads of people for breakfast / day drinking / just work and vibes, overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I got the Breakfast Croissant with Bacon (4.5/5) & it was delicious, portion was great. My boyfriend got the Avocado Toast & said it was delicious too. My boyfriend complimented how the potato (included with my breakfast croissant) was cooked very nicely too. You self served knife, spoon, napkin, sauces, minor things like that. The servers will come around to refill your water whenever they can :)

Met up with some friends to study here on a weekend. This place is Greek owned. They have a bunch of small tables along the walls with some decent sized ones in the middle. I decided to get the Greek frappe. Maybe I should've chosen a safer pick because I did not enjoy this drink at all. The coffee was very bitter and the foam was very thick and did not mix with it at all. Individually they both were not that good to me. Maybe this is not my taste but I did not have fun trying to finish this. Parking is also very small and you have to park across the street if the lot fills up. The only thing good about this place is that they're open until midnight

I have been a regular since Roast & Brew opened. It's great to have a casual and hip coffee shop with plenty of indoor and outdoor space, that offers great coffee, food, alcohol and opens late. I'm a fan of the Greek frappe for a hot day, or a plain latte or flat white for some warmth. With plenty of pastries, breakfast and lunch options, you can really spend hours here and no need to relocate to somewhere else. It does get pretty busy, and people tend to post there for a while so tables could be limited.

Roast and Brew is definitely an underrated spot in the heights. It's a huge working from home spot during the week so keep that in mind, many people are camped out there and there are a ton of outlets, but with the amount of people there it can be hard to find one. I love their omelette plate with potatoes. The potatoes are so crispy but soft on the inside in the best way. Their lattes are always solid as well. I don't enjoy their smoothies as much as they are a little too sweet for my liking, but I'm probably in the minority!

    Matcha latte with vanilla
    Trish N.

On a day off from school, my friends and I decided to try this place to study for finals. The decorations and the different seating options made the place feel more welcoming and homey. There were tons of smaller tables near ports along the sides which were really convenient and perfect for studying or working. However, the drink I ordered was a little disappointing. The matcha had good reviews so I wanted to try. The matcha color and ratio was good but it was not smooth. The matcha was still clumpy and made the texture a little chunky and grainy. I also asked for it to be sweetened with vanilla but I couldn't taste it at all. 4/10

They also have a spacious parking lot, which was convenient. Since I had my dog with me, I stepped inside briefly to confirm that the patio was open before settling in. I greeted the young woman at the counter and asked if patio seating was available. She responded, "Yes, because dogs are not allowed inside." That felt unnecessary. I was clearly asking about the patio for that exact reason. I was not attempting to sit indoors, and I understand health regulations. She then added that the Houston Health Department could walk in at any moment. Again, I was not trying to dine inside. I simply wanted to confirm patio access so I could enjoy a coffee outside. I asked if someone would be outside to take my order. She said no. So I asked if she could take my order right then so I could immediately head out to the patio. She agreed, but her tone and demeanor felt dismissive, which made the interaction uncomfortable. At that point, I decided to leave. If the patio is dog friendly, there should be a smoother process for solo customers with pets. A simple, "Yes, the patio is open. Let me take your order now so you can head outside," would have made this quick and easy. Advisory: If you are visiting with a dog, I would recommend bringing another person with you. If you are alone, the ordering process may be awkward, as you cannot remain inside with your dog while placing your order. I would have happily spent money here, but the service made the visit feel more procedural than welcoming.

Step inside and you'll find a wonderfully mixed crowd: tech people typing furiously, students contemplating existential dread over a flat white, fashion-forward creatives in boots so white they defy known urban physics -- and yes, that includes me. One corner of the room is charmingly not quite tidy, as if the café itself were whispering: "Relax. Real life happens here." Industrial ducts snake overhead, large windows flood the space with natural light, and sociability seems to circulate as freely as the air. Now, the coffee: a revelation. The espresso is concentrated civilization -- exactly as it should be -- and the cappuccino is an elegant balance of foam and depth, not one of those half-liter dairy-fatigue exercises from anonymous multi-national chains-that-shall-not-be-named. The staff? Friendly, knowledgeable, and disarmingly competent -- the sort of people who know precisely why this bean tastes like citrus and chocolate instead of simply shrugging at the universe. In sum: Tenfold isn't just a café; it's a microcosm of a city that thrives on difference. A place where everyone, no matter their background, finds caffeine, community, and a seat at the table. For all of that -- the atmosphere, the humanity, the coffee artistry -- five stars, unequivocally.

The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.

I love going to coffee shops that have my name in them ;)…read more No but for real, Yemeni and Turkish coffees and teas anyways hit the spot. Pair that with my love of pistachio, and you've got a match made in heaven. This place looks ethnic, modern and clean. There's a painting of a woman on the wall who stares over us as we eat cake. We were lucky enough to come on a gloomy afternoon, my favorite a way to go to a coffee place. I tried a multitude of desserts, and they were all good. We also had four separate drinks, and they were all good. The cheesecake, milk cake and honeycomb bread were all good. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Overall- would definitely go here again!

The vibes reflect their culture well and I'm here for it. They have a bunch of pastries and a wide range of coffees to choose from. I tried the rose Adeni chai. I don't know about the rose part of it. It was basically the a cold foam part of it but I don't feel like the flavor tasted like rose or anything, just had the pink color. The Adeni chai did taste authentic. I also tried the Turkish coffee and that was strong and bold. I don't feel like the taste was too strong for me though, it was easy to drink. I also liked the presentation of the coffee. They put it in a traditional coffee pot. If you like strong coffee then this is for you. I tried the meat samosa and it was crispy and the inside was a mix of onions and minced meat. It had a nice texture for me but the inside wasn't to my flavor of taste. That's just in my opinion because I don't like onions. I then tried the Knafeh cheesecake. The Knafeh wasn't as crunchy as I thought it would be but the cheesecake portion was just like an original cheesecake, tangy and rich. I enjoyed the cheesecake. I guess I was expecting of a more of Knafeh taste like the top would be like half Knafeh instead of like sprinkles. Nevertheless, it was still good it just wasn't what I expected.
