They were very busy when we went so I took time time browsing the menu while they caught up, never ever a problem for me! And she was very sweet letting me know she'd be with me soon. I got an iced blueberry lavender latte with oatmilk, delish. Loved seeing their display of syrups, their machine is beautiful and loved the touch of using bottomless portafilters made my barista heart so happy If I could recommend anything to this shop it would be to start using names or numbers to call out orders from the counter. As a customer when you have to watch and listen for your specific order it can make the waiting period a little less enjoyable :/ and then you run into what I did, your coffee gets called, someone got the same thing, and now it's unfortunately up to the barista to tell them (& have to remember) whose it is ‍ Will 100% be returning. Their pastries are really good, recently split a cinnamon roll so good it prompted me to finally leave a review! I come here mainly for the atmosphere. It is so nice to work in/meet with friends. To me it feels super balanced, casual and professional at the same time. Not super loud. The customers are mix purpose, you don't feel bad if someone next to you is working/studying. It's part of Bayou Heights Bier Garden, their little coffee shop on the left part of the venue. If there's no seating inside (kinda limited) you're welcome to work on the BHBG patio space which is ample. I more recently come with girlfriends to needlepoint, and catch up. Nothing about their coffee I feel the need to rave about but it's not disgusting and I enjoy it. I used to get the blueberry lavender a lot but I think I burnt myself out on it. What a treat to find BHBG. I've been a devotee of Asch Building for years now but BHBG is a new favorite. Hint: ask for a drink with biscoff syrup or red velvet syrup since those are made in-house. I found Santa's latte to be relatively balanced for a seasonal brew. The Christmas Spirit pastry was definitely sweet but still incredible enjoyable as each component had its own flavor that it added. ''Twas a complicated dessert. The kouign amann was really something special. I'm not a huge fan of caramelized sugar crusts, but if you do then you'll love this. Our barista on Christmas Eve was so nice. This was a super cute and unsuspecting coffee shop! I've always loved the idea of coffee and alcohol, because why not and they did it here! The coffee shop seating itself is limited, but cozy. They is plenty of seating outside in the bier garden, so I would either come early to snag a seat inside or hope that the weather outside is nice enough. They have your standard espresso based coffees and a few specialty lattes you can order. I got the blueberry lavender latte and enjoyed it. This hidden gem is definitely a vibe! It's the perfect balance--small enough to feel cozy and quaint, yet spacious enough for a comfortable work-from-home date with friends. I ordered the Lavender Blueberry Latte (decaf) and it did not disappoint. The lavender flavor was beautifully rich without being overly sweet--just the way I like it. I really enjoyed going to BHBG and working from there! Great WiFi and service! I love that there is a lot and the options to valet if you are in a rush. With it being spring, it is a great option to work outside with coffee and end the workday with a glass of wine. I would definitely recommend! read more

The coffee here was very good, and the pastries were great as well. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating--it was cozy and comfortable, and I also liked that there's a bar right next door. Definitely a coffee spot worth visiting. What is not worth it at all is the valet service. They were doing a terrible job and ultimately made me want to leave. When I arrived, I noticed how poorly they were moving cars around, so I parked my own car, handed over the keys, and didn't think much of it. But then I saw my car driving in circles in the lot, along with several other cars sitting with doors open, engines running, and keys inside. The whole operation looked reckless and extremely inefficient. What made it worse was that when I went back to get my car, no one was at the valet stand. Two cars were sitting on with keys inside, mine was left on with the window down--completely unattended. It was just such a bad experience and really ruined the visit for me. The coffee shop is great, but the valet service needs serious attention. read more

The coziest coffee shop in Houston! I'm pretty tired of coffee shops with hard chairs and a cold interior - BHBG is none of that. It's cozy, warm, inviting. I'm officially obsessed! Service: The staff is very nice though I didn't have much interaction with them outside of ordering my drink Coffee: I had one of their lattes and it was pretty good! Plus it was cute which was a bonus. They had all the usuals but also had an entire tea section and several matcha options which was refreshing. They also had some pastries available . The space: The seating area is small but cute. There are 2 couches and a handful of tables. The entrance and counter to order are a bit cramped but once you get past that it's nice. The ambiance made me wish I brought a book to read. Since it's attached to the beer garden there is also plenty of outdoor seating Parking: I had to pay $5 to self park which made me reconsider coming here. But it was a cold and rainy day, and I had time to kill so I stayed. Between the parking and the cost of the coffee with tip I paid almost $15 which is excessive in my opinion I'd come back for the vibe but definitely try to find an alternative parking option read more

First visit here. I somehow didn't realize it was connected to the Bayou Heights Beer Garten but it was a nice suprise (minus the lack of parking). I ordered a cappuccino. They made this super cute bear on it and I was so impressed. Sadly I didn't like my drink very much. It wasn't bitter it was very smooth but the sugar I added did nothing at all. It was kinda odd as I don't usually have this issue with cappuccinos unless they're very bitter. Maybe it was just the roast they use. Anyhow I chugged it down and spent some time on the cute little swings at the beer garten so I overall was happy. There isn't a ton of seating inside but tons outside of it gets full. On another note, the bathroom wasn't in the best condition and the entire toilet paper holder (like those big plastic ones) fell out of the wall onto me. I did attempt to put it back in the wall but the holes in the wall were just worn down and couldn't hold it anymore. I'll probably come back. I've been to the Bayou Heights Bier Garten a few times before and honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed with the bar section of things but having the coffee shop there makes this whole place pretty unique because you can still go out with people and not feel obligated to drink. They are open till 10 so I guess if you're out after 10 then you're probably not in a coffee mood anyway but for a nice Sunday afternoon like the day I was there or early evening, it's great. I was expecting them to just have a little token coffee place with some drip coffee or whatever but this is a full standalone coffee shop with its own seating and place to sit down and read, or do other coffee shop stuff in. If there isn't a band playing on the patio it's actually a place to study at too. The employees were also pretty nice and friendly. The only thing that truly sucks is the parking but I guess if you're coming for coffee, you're probably not here at their busiest time so you can still find street parking in the side streets. read more

BHBG Cafe is short for Bayou Heights Bier Garten and is connected to a beer garden next door in the Heights. The inside of the cafe is pretty small with few seats, but they have a wide variety of drinks and in-house pastries. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was packed! I got the kouign amman, brown sugar iced latte, and white mocha iced latte. They had a lot of syrup options for lattes. The drinks came in a pretty big-sized cup and were not too overwhelmingly sweet and were casual lattes. Because of how crowded it was, the order took quite some time to finish at around 45 minutes. They also forget my kouign anman, and I had to ask about it on three separate occasions. However, the kouign amman (once heated at home) was bigger than most kouign ammans I've had before and was crispy on the outside and had a nice sweet glaze. Parking is limited with most spots being for valet. Overall, there are a lot of options in regards to the pastries and drinks, but it does take quite some time for orders to come out. The coffee here is great, but I also recommend trying the pastries (in particular, the chocolate croissant!). BHBG offers a great place to gather and socialize. Tons of outdoor seating and decent amount of parking. Ideal spot to mingle when the weather is nice. I can only speak for the coffee, but want to note that it's a (Bayou Heights) Bier Garten, so lots of beers, wines, and cocktails available. When I went, the coffee beans were from Tenfold Coffee, one of my favorite roasters. As expected, great coffee (I got the cold brew). I ordered a chocolate croissant for my son and he loved it. I never seen him eat a pastry that quick. I had to walk back and give compliments to the baker (yep they bake it all right there in-house!). Interior of the coffee shop was quaint. Nice library design up high (not practical but gives a nice feel), has a nice comfy couch style seating area in the middle, and small tables around the perimeter. Not a spacious interior, but some would call it cozy. Dogs welcome, even inside. I saw they let this well behaved lab in and the barista gave a pupicinno. Service was friendly. Coffee was good. I visited BHBG Coffee as a study spot that stays open late, but I was surprised to initially walk in and see that this café is actually a part of what appears to be a larger open courtyard bar and restaurant! It was hard to find the café portion of the Bayou Heights Beir Garden (BHBG) at first, but it is tucked away in the far left corner of the venue. BHBG Coffee is much smaller than I thought since it looked bigger in the pictures, but it is honestly a cozy place to do work in, and despite loud music being played right outside with plenty of people drinking and socializing, the café itself has thick walls and doors that deafen the outside noise from the nightlife. There were different seating options at booths, next to the windows and on couches, with a few outlets nearby as well. I ordered the iced vanilla latte and the taste of the espresso was strong and smoothly went well with the vanilla syrup. It was a nice flavorful coffee and I enjoyed taking sips while I worked. The seating was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, although there is only one bathroom for the café. The baristas continued to be friendly even when they have been working here late, and I appreciate their patience. Parking here was a bit limited as well, but overall I enjoyed working here with a yummy drink in hand! read more

I wasn't able to get any work done, besides phone calls. And because the patio is so spacious, I didn't feel bad about being on my phone because other patrons were far away from me. I wanted an almond milk matcha latte, but the barista informed me their matcha is sweetened, so I opted for a almond milk latte. It was good (see pic), just not as hot as I hoped for. The first time I visited, it was raining outside, and I really feel that this is such a cozy place to hang out in and watch the rain. When it's sunny outside, it can get a bit warm in there, especially if it's full. It's quite small inside, but the decor has a lot of interesting details - a lot of wood and a really cool large lighting fixture. One of my absolute favorite coffee shops! The shop itself is not very large, but has lots of outlets available and tons of seating outside. It can get a lil loud outside and cold inside though. WiFi is fast and the pastries are amazing. The lattes w any syrup are a little too sweet for me (blueberry lavender and the vanilla) so I'll prob opt for just plain latte next time. People really treat this place like their living room, which is a shame since it's so small. -The best pastries sell out, so get there early! The place is really cute and apparently has valet parking. I was there on a Saturday early afternoon. They took forever...... to serve me my DRIP COFFEE. They didn't even have to make the coffee. Just dispense it! The girl behind the counter was prioritizing everyone's lattes and craft coffee drinks and I'm standing over here like, hello?? I ordered this easy thing so I could just up and leave! She was making drinks and serving people who had entered way after me! Also, we sat on the patio area in between the bar and the cafe where the workers often come out of. It did not smell very nice..... And the signage outside is a little confusing. I saw the beer garden sign but not for the coffee so I drove past the parking lot for a little. It's very inconspicuous. Place is cute though and they have a variety of pastries.
