Maybe choosing to check out Koffeteria during the World Cup is a bad idea, since we had to temporarily park two blocks away as the cops had blocked up much of Ea Do. Also, the pastries were what I was mainly hoping for, but didn't see much, just cake and some packaged cookies. I ended up only ordering the only hot food available on the menu, the beef pho kolache, which was actually really really tasty. The $8 price point is a little hard to swallow, but worth trying at least once! Milk bread is soft and the brisket goes really great with sriracha. The hoisin was a tad too salty for me; I think it would work best if it had, in theme, the aromatics from actual pho, otherwise it's too heavy. The yuzu lemonade was citrusy and refreshing, definitely hits the spot during the summer. There's a bit of space in the back, and there's a patio area (though I'm not sure if it's 100% Koffeteria's, but it was set up for World Cup watching. I'll have to keep an eye on when's the best time to swing by again for their bakery items.
Bakery/Cafe that blends asian flavors into various baked goods and drinks. Ordered: - Beef Pho Kolache: Honestly quite surprised by this one. I feel like they really nailed the flavors and works very well in a kolache. I would say my perfect bite had just a small dip of hoisin sauce. - Mango Sticky Rice: This one was fine to me. Just didn't stand out like the Kolache. Rice is pretty dense so the middle where the filling was a little heavy. - Cambodian Iced Coffee (Kayfe Dahkoh): Reminded me of Viet coffee with the condensed milk. Loved how they tried to be very environmental conscious here. For their ice to go cups they used paper? to go cups. (They reminded me of those traditional paper chinese food take out containers but cup form). They also have raw spaghetti pasta? for people to use as stir sticks for their coffees. They had a few tables insides (counter and tables) and outside. Not sure what the wifi/outlet situation was like since we did to go.
DELICIOUS. The Chinese sausage and chive biscuit is to dream about and it's sad it's seasonal. The mango sticky rice danish was also good but i just like mango sticky rice so may be biased. I will say I didn't love the coffee, just not my favourite flavor, I got the halo one. May be my fault because I should have got something more basic. But basically yes come here. Service was great too and they warm up pastries if you stay in. Plenty of sitting room both in and outside
For the incredibly indecisive like me, be prepared to struggle a bit because everything in the pastry case looks soso good! I ended up trying the Cambodian elote cornbread and the black sesame mochi, and both were fantastic. I quite appreciate how creative their menu is. The service was also great--the workers were very thorough in explaining all the different options and answering our questions while I was trying to make up my mind. The only thing to keep in mind is their hours. They close early at 2 PM, so you definitely need to plan a morning or early afternoon visit. Overall, highly recommend stopping by!
Amazing pastries in general but right now they have a coconut passion fruit flan and with mango on top....best flan I've ever had. The service is fast and the baristas are very friendly. Today I ordered an ube coconut latte, beef pho Kolache and 3 of the flans to share with my family. They do not take cash, so leave the change at home. The indoor seating is small and limited but you can use the outdoor seating that shares with Chapman/kirby.
Finally had the chance to check out this coffee shop in EADO. Nominated for the James Beard award, I had high expectations Walking in, wow the pastries looked absolutely amazing. So many delicious savory and sweet pastries to pick from. From danishes, to scones, to meringue tarts, I have to say I don't think you can go wrong here with their baked goods. The staff was awesomely patient with my first time being there. I ended up with the Pomello Lemon Scone and the Cambodian iced coffee (kayfe dahkoh). The scone was amazing. A slice of Pomelo sat on top with some kind of icing and it paired so well with the lemony scone. The Cambodian iced coffee was a coffee made with condensed and evaporated milk. Personally I thought this was okay, I was expecting it to be a bit on the sweeter side and was a bit disappointed but to each and their own. Parking here in EADO is a pain which is why I haven't crossed this off my list. Paid street parking should be expected when you come here. The interior was much larger than I expected. I originally thought this was a very small shop. They had quite a few tables and I think outdoor seating in the back as well to my surprise. Overall I reallt enjoyed this place and would come back. Im looking forward to coming back and checking out their baked goods!

This time they were doing a collab with Shakaar so I went and picked up some pastries and the Thai tea with the espresso and it was a good morning I have to say. parking was easy and they have designated spots across the street. Everyone is very friendly and the place is always clean. There were a few pastries left so maybe I didn't have to pre order but I did anyway because you never know.
We've been to Koffeteria before and keep coming back because it truly never disappoints. We were initially drawn in by the Cambodian flavors, and every visit reminds us how thoughtful and well-executed everything is. Each item is beautifully crafted, and you can really tell how skilled and intentional the chef is. I also love the character of the space. I saw a video about how so much of the furniture, plates, and cups are recycled, and it honestly made me appreciate the place even more -- it adds so much charm and personality. The menu seems to have a few staples with rotating items, which keeps things exciting. This time we tried the Cambodian elote cornbread, scallion pancake croissant, chicken curry danish, Chinese sausage and chive biscuit, and the Thai tea bread pudding. Everything was so unique and delicious, but my favorite ended up being the Chinese sausage and chive biscuit -- a last-minute choice that I was so glad we made. Koffeteria is such a special spot, and you can feel the creativity and care in every bite
This place is a great spot for coffee. They're also known for their pho kolache! The pho kolache was very tender and the bun/pastry was very soft and puffy and not necessarily traditional. But it was very good nonetheless. It does have a bit of a saltier taste to it but it was very good! The cortado coffee I got came in this neat cup when having it for dine in. It was also very good. This place is quiet and you can study or do work or enjoy a nice sip or meal in peace here. The staff is super nice and friendly.
Came here for the first time to meet a friend for breakfast on Sunday around 9a. We wanted to go early as we were afraid that items would be sold out. I had read some previous reviews that it seems once they sell out they don't make more, so it's gone for the day. Parking- they don't have there own dedicated lot, but appear to share parking out front and on the other side of the street with the other businesses in the area. And side street parking When we arrived, it had started to pick up crowd wise and there was a line. But we didn't mind waiting, so would peak at all of the pastries under the glass to decided what we wanted. Someone in line told us the London Fog is good. But honestly most of them looked pretty tasty. There isn't a whole lot of seating inside, it's cozy. But we found counter seating right at the front. I think there's outside seating if weather permits. Very eco- friendly, with repurposed items all over the shop. Like a grocery cart turned into a planter box. Service- you order at the front and take a number. My friend said the staff member that rang her up gave her a dirty look when she put in the tip amount, wow! A different person rung me up, and it seemed to go ok? Drink- I got the matcha latte, it was cutesy. Fair amount of real matcha flavor. I don't like when they make it overly sweet. I prefer the authentic way. Food- I went with the pho kolache which I think is pretty popular. The pistachio baklava croissant, and the cinnamon roll. Everything was yummy. I ate a portion of each and then took it home to eat later. Even when I ate the items at home, they still held up. My friend ordered the Ube cookie for her kiddos, she had a bite and liked it the least of all the items. She also ordered the Mango sticky rice pastry, I tried this, it was crazy to see how they actually got rice grains into the pastry, I was impressed. Lastly she got the London Fog, I tried a bite and they really got the tea flavor in a pastry, pretty cool. Would enjoy coming back to this place again. Great variety of enjoyable and different pastries. Hopefully the rest of the staff aren't all judgy about tipping, yikes.
Have visited Koffeteria several times now, but I always feel they're deserving of another 5 review! The last time we went in was around Valentine's Day and we tried three new items we'd never had before - the Thai tea almond loaf, Chinese sausage biscuit and croissant cookie. My husband was utterly obsessed with the biscuit, and I thought it was super good also. The cookie texture was so unique and I just loved it! We both thought the load had a moist and dense texture, which we liked, but would've liked to have experienced a stronger flavor. Not enough to drop them down to 4 , though!
Have been wanting to come by for a bit and finally got a chance! We tried the pao de queijo, the black sesame mochi w salted egg yolk, and the cinnamon roll. The pao was so so good, I would get it every time, but I think it is seasonal. The black sesame mochi cake was also so good. It's a sweeter pastry, but super easy to eat bc it's not too sweet and has such a good chew. The tiger uppercut is so good too, it has such a good balance of the thai tea and coffee. My friend always gets it. They are so nice here and I really enjoy the atmosphere. Very unintimidating and bright place. They bring out your order to you, but you do clean up yourself. I love coming here especially when the weather is nice out.
Finally visited this place and now I'm hooked! I see why they've won multiple awards. I tried their matcha which was great, but my real obsession is the Cambodian elote cornbread. After my visit, I had to return again the following week. Staff are very friendly. Also love that they have an outdoor space.

We found this coffee shop while in town in Houston and it ended up being one of our favorites! It was FIFA fan fest in the area so it was a little hard getting to the location, but totally worth it! The shop had a very homey feel and the staff were super friendly. Strong coffee and the pastries were so good! We tried the chocolate chip cookies and oh my! Overall, we would be back again when in the area! read more
When your family is on vacation (or staycation in my case) in EaDo, take advantage and walk over to Koffeteria off Hutchins, really close to Discovery Green, Marriott Marquis, and Daikin Park. It's on the east side of 59 freeway and only a few blocks from the famous Huynh Vietnamese restaurant. We strolled over on a Sunday morning around 9 am and tried a few items: - Make Ya Halo: expensive but really good. You gotta love oat milk if you wanna like this drink. It's served in a foldable paper cup, so that's kinda weird, but also makes me feel like I'm saving the earth by purchasing this $9 drink. - pho beef kolache: one of a kind and you gotta try it. I found it pleasantly surprising. It was served hot and a fair size that won't completely fill you up but it ain't no sample size either. I loved it. - Thai banana pudding: this was the highlight. I'm not sure if it's a seasonal item, but if they have it, you gotta get it. It was delicious and the perfect amount of sweetness. Service was extra pleasant, and though the indoor seating is limited, the outdoor seating is plentiful. Ambiance is hip and cool as one would expect from an EaDo shop. Enjoy! read more

Honestly I was very underwhelmed with what I received. I had high hopes for this place, and it had been bookmarked for a while. Beef pho kolache: took about 15 minutes to receive. The dish lacked flavor, primarily the meat. The bottom of the bun was toasted a little too much, which gave off a burnt flavor. Tiger uppercut: not much flavor, I was expecting a strong Thai tea flavor but didn't really taste it. Ube snickerdoodle: best thing that I got. The chewiness was perfect, and the egg yolk on top was good. I love that the cookie has some saltiness to it, which balanced with the sweetness. The next time that I come, I'd loveeee to try the London fog roll. read more
A hip coffee/pastry shop in EaDo, I tried couple pastries to go. Beef Pho kolache (4.5/5) - a very creative fusion kolache, came with sriracha and hoisin sauce, great flavor combo Ube snickerdoodle cookie (4/5) - has a subtle ube flavor (not overpowering like the artificial kind), nice texture and a good mix of sweet and saltiness Banana bread mochi cake (1/5) - this one is a miss for me, instead of the normal mochi texture I expected, this one just felt... WET. stuck to the wrapper a lot more than I'd like, also the banana flavor is almost non-existent compared to a normal banana bread Definitely recommend the beef pho kolache! read more

The hours are definitely different. The parking is actually across the street and it's very limited. At the time I came to visit there was a lot of construction around the area. The inside is classic coffee shop vibes. They have a selection of unique pastries to choose from and i believe you can purchase coffee beans from them. I tried their iced ube latte which was fine nothing mind blowing. The to go cup was definitely the highlight for me. It was rather secure and unique. There's a patio outside in the back but I didn't go check it out. That black sesame mochi bread was so good it tasted fresh, moist, and soft. read more
Located in EaDo near the very busy and hectic Main Street. They offer a few different coffee related drinks, some pastries, and breakfast items with indoor seating. Definitely has the hip vibe going on and probably one of the better options to relax in this chaotic area. Their price point is definitely on the higher end of expectations, partially due to the premium of this location. Got the Make Ya Halo as the drink of choice ($7.5); it was fine but the cup design is fairly odd and prone to leaking. Got a couple of their pastries as well; they were not my piece of pie, per se. Overall a good add to the area with all of the bars and whatnot dominating the space, it is nice to have a more laid back coffee spot. I'm read more

definitely some life-changing bites eating the french onion danish and the black sesame mochi with salted egg!! the danish was super duper crispy, and the inside flavors of onion and cheese were so delicious. it was a little bit salty for me... if there were less salt - it would be a 7/7 but right now it's a 6.9/7 lols the black sesame pastry has a mochi-like texture to the bread and the flavors was overall very well balanced coffee was mid limited parking (i think like 3 spots??) mostly metered street parking, but i came on a rainy week day to take it to go excited to come back and try some of their other pastries!!! read more
For the Drink I got the "Make Ya Halo" coffee and to eat I got the beef pho kolache. The coffee was good and it had hints of sweetness while drinking it. The taste for the kolache was right on with the pho taste except this time it was inside of a nice warm bun, the sriracha and hoisin sauce only helped enhance the flavors. read more

Got the salty Cambodian drink and a beef pho kolache. Drink was good, the flavors for what make it special ate very subtle. The beef pho kolache was good and served very warm, liked how it had sriracha and hoisin on the side, which definitely made it worth getting. Service is fast, and they were sold out if a lot of items by 11 am. The inside looks like a collection of eclectic furniture, which has a charming vibe. Koffeterria is such a gem! I love Khmer food but this is the first Khmer influenced cafe I have found. We tried the Beef Pho Kolache--so creative and packed with flavor--and the Cambodian tamale, which was perfectly seasoned and comforting. The Cambodian iced coffee was rich and smooth, just the right amount of sweetness, and the Make Ya Halo drink was a delicious treat. You can really taste the love and creativity in every item. The vibe was great too. This place makes me wish I lived in Houston. Definitely looking forward to the next time I can visit again. read more

My husband and I came here on a Sunday morning around 9 AM. Amazingly the line was super short. The staff were very nice and sweet. there's an indoor outdoor area. We decided to eat outdoor because it was such a beautiful morning. They also have some chalk for the kids to play with if you happen to have children with you. This place is also dog friendly. Now onto the food. We felt that the coffee was a bit weak that could have more work to it. The food, however, was amazing. We had two savory and two sweets. Their menu has a rotation so it may be different every month or so. The sweet ones came out first. The blueberry lavender pastry was really decadent, and the whipped cream was a great balance to the dense filling. The mango sticky rice pastry was really interesting. It's literally carb on carb. However, even though there is sticky rice filling , the croissant like breading is still crispy. For the savory, we had the pho kolache and the shrimp toast. The kolache was really dense and delicious and juicy. The shrimp toast was also very crispy, but also messy to eat. It also had a slight kick to it. In the past, I had a friend who gave me a London earl gray fog, guava tart pastry, and French onion pastry from here . I still think about those sometimes. I hope to see them again. I was told that I had to try the kolaches in Houston and was sent a list of different places to go to the one that caught my eye one because of the beef pho kolache. When I got here, they were sold out of all of the pastries and baked goods, but I got lucky cause they had one or two of the beef pho kolaches left, which is what I came for. The service is very quick and they were very nice, space is cute and quaint, nice little sit down area. I personally enjoyed this kolache, the meat was tender, and it had a perfect balance of flavor, not too overwhelming in any aspect. I'll be coming back to try the other baked goods as well. read more

Chocolate Croissant: large and flaky Banana Bread mochi cupcake: Great flavor, stuck to the wrapper a bit more than I would have liked. and left lots of bread on it. Tiger Uppercut Drink: Not bad would drink again. Beef Pho Kolache: Great combination of flavors and was the best item I tasted. Chinese Sausage Taco: Interesting combo of flavors, it was a solid taco with a twist. Salty Cambodian: Did not really like it and would not order again. Would recommend and return. read more

Cute coffee shop in downtown Houston! Parking can be challenging due to multiple businesses in the area. I ordered the salty Cambodian. It had the potential to be delicious but I think the barista may have been rushed, so it was okay... This place is also known for their pastries, be sure to get there early as they do run out. read more

I've had this coffee shop on my list for quite some time, but I finally decided to try it out and it is instantly becoming one of my favorites. It's in a perfect location east of downtown. There is plenty of parking available, and I went on a Saturday in the mid-morning. It was busy inside, so I was a little worried I wouldn't find seating, but even though it's a small café, they do have indoor seating options. There are two bars with chairs inside, plus outdoor seating as well. The service was amazing. The staff was so friendly, kind, and welcoming. It genuinely feels like everyone enjoys working there, which makes the whole experience even better. The menu options were also great. I ordered an iced matcha with almond milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup, which was delicious. I also got the beef pho kolache and the mac and cheese danish, both of which were so good. I honestly wanted to try more croissants, but I can only eat so much, so I will definitely be back. If you've been eyeing this place or you're looking for a nice coffee shop to try, this is absolutely one to check out. read more
The pastries here are delicious! I tasted the beef pho kolache that my husband devoured after. I also had the guava danish and elote cornbread. I'm not a fan of cornbread but this elote cornbread was very good. The parking may be challenging in this area but it's worth going for these yummy pastries. read more
excellent vibes! when the baristas have a mildly standoffish attitude, you know the coffee is going to hit! decor is absolutely beautiful! vintage pieces everywhere! they also have sustainable to-go containers and they have silverware & metal cups for dining in. i got the iced latte with cherry syrup and dr. pepper foam -- 100% yes! elote cornbread i forget the name but the tart was insanely good too! definitely adding to the coffee rotation. read more
so delicious!! :-) i tried the black sesame mochi egg yolk pastry and it was yummy! the workers heated it up without me asking. there is a huge array of unique pastries, i arrived around noon and there was still a good selection. parking is a bit of a hassle (street parking). workers are friendly and the seating is comfortable. i tried the thai tea latte and it was ok, the espresso overpowers the thai tea flavor. would come back to try more unique pastries as it changes constantly! read more
Cute spot. Will definitely be back. The vibes were cool. Although it presents as a spot where you can study, the music is so loud that I presume its not that kind of spot. Great coffee shop for unique drinks and pastries. Staff is friendly and accommodating. There's not a ton of seating - I've been on a Saturday when it's packed and another Saturday when it's pretty empty and easy to find a table. The beef pho kolache is fantastic.
