Only outdoor seating but a third of it is covered. We came during lunch so it looked like there were limited bakery goods. We got a mocha, cinnamon roll and sourdough loaf. It was all pretty good but it didn't stand out for us. If you are looking for a gooy cinnamon roll, this is not it. Good flavor but for me could have used more cinnamon. Dog friendly outside! We might be back to try their regular food items.

came back and tried the vegan fomage with an iced matcha. super delicious, came on a sunday evening and it wasn't too packed, with ample outside seating and fast service :)

Really great casual breakfast spot with lots of outdoor seating and breakfast options. The quiche portion is huge and all the food I've tried here has been great. Would definitely be a staple for me if there was better parking. It's in a residential area so no dedicated parking lot and only street parking

Ive visited this place a few times now and every time is a great experience. The breakfast croissant with bacon is my favorite. The coffee is great. I recently tried the chocolate chip cookie and it was a 10/10. The staff is always friendly Definitely worth trying

Everything was super fresh!!! The cinnamon roll was so not a traditional cinnamon roll but was absolutely my favorite!! Line was long but went super fast! Everything looked so good we had a tough time narrowing the choices down. Plenty of seating and lovely staff.

What an amazing bakery! This might be one of the best tasting chocolate muffins that I've had! Perfect balance of sweetness and there's a great touch of crispiness. Overall, I highly recommend and would come back.

Really friendly staff that keep the place clean. Food came out in 10-15 minutes, with coffees taking around 5 minutes. Quiet area in the morning with kids and pets. Has limited indoor seating but outdoor seating has shade. The bread had the perfect amount of crunch. I feel like the muffin could have been moister. Overall lots of options for food and at a good price!

We have been going to Angela's Oven for years. It's a small bakery on Aurora Street in the Heights and everything has been consistently solid. I've never had anything from Angela's Oven that I didn't like. It's run by good people. There's not really much for parking. Most of the time you just park on the street and walk down. Seating is outdoors. The interior is pretty small so if it's during a busy time it gets crowded pretty quickly. The hours can be a bit inconsistent - check the Facebook for updates. Things do sell out so if you would like a specific pastry you may have to call ahead. My favorite go-to is probably the Veggie (Spinach & Tomato) Pain Fromage. Their croissants are so good. I don't think you can go wrong here - the scones are great, fruit tarts delicious, and the bread is stellar. Today I got the Pistachio Croissant Eclair. It was much lighter than I expected and was not cloyingly sweet. The pastry was perfect. I do wish that the woman who packed it had put it in a to-go box rather than in a bag as the filling did get a bit squished. Not a big deal as it was still delicious and was mostly unaffected - just something to consider for future reference. Angela's Oven is a great bakery and go-to in the Heights area for whenever you need a good pastry to hit the spot.

Angela's came up as a must visit when I was researching fun Houston neighborhoods. The location is more residential, there weren't many other places we could walk to but we very much enjoyed checking out the neighborhood and gorgeous homes. I came in a little later so a lot of their pastries were sold out but the blueberry danish was phenomenal. I loved the buttery croissant like crust. Worth stopping in for a snack or meal if you are in the area.

Stopped by Sunday morning for a little breakfast. The place is quite quaint but also has that homey warm feeling. Everyone was super friendly and provided suggestions considering it was my first time. I opted for the iced vanilla latte and the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage. I was informed the sausage was beef and made in-house. Unfortunately, my latte was super milky. The first few sips were good but after that, it fell flat. My sandwich was not too bad either. The croissant itself was the star of the show!! Super flaky, buttery, and toasted perfectly! The sausage was a little bland, next time I'd probably try bacon instead. Overall, if you're in the area, I think it's worth a try.

Our morning was well spent at Angela's oven. Everyone on staff was in a great mood and it was the perfect spot for a light breakfast.

Angela's oven! My favorite bakery in town! Go no further for some of the freshest pastries and bread. I've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed every item here. They make sourdough bread, scones, muffins, and more. With a fantastic outdoor patio (when its not blazing hot) I love hanging out here on the weekend mornings! My favorite items here are the: pain fromage, the quiches, and the breakfast sandwich. All delicious items that I love. It comes with a side of fruit if you order it there to eat. Give them a try if you're looking to have a great start to a morning. -- a edit I'd like to make is they also started pizza on Wednesday nights and it is fantastic. Absolutely in love with their pizzas! Had the el diablo special and their supreme pizza and I think i may have found one of my favorite pizza joints. As always, their dough is incredibly fresh. I always love that about this place. The pizza comes out piping hot. The el diablo has such a great kick to it, ricotta, mozzarella, chicken, white onion. Topped with cilantro, red salsa and sour cream. It hits! I recommend their pizzas nights as well!

I have been to Angela's twice now, both for pizza night. I was influenced like many people to come try it bc of social media. The first night me and my friend came on a whim and waited one hour for a pizza, but lowkey was worth the wait. Unfortunately they ran out of the special of the week but their regular options are just as good. The whipped ricotta on the pizza was very tasty and complimented the other ingredients well. They have free wine and beer available as well for pizza nights. The second night I came and picked up but we tried pepperoni and we got the special this week which was a thanksgiving pizza. It was super unique and suprisingly tasty!! It literally tasted like a thanksgiving plate- cranberry sauce, turkey, potatoes etc, it had it all. They have a great patio area but it definitely gets super busy. I recommend preordering the pizza though. You order through Instagram or you can call them! I can't wait to go back to try more of their fun pizza flavors. I also need to come during the day to check out the coffee shop. It looks like a great place for coffee and pastries as well.

Thankfully, Mark was there and initially was told a 35 minute wait but seemed intent by quicker. Ambiance: 4/5 It was breakfast time so of course it was a busy time. For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

I'll admit that when we got there, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is a different feel. We were greeted and told we could sit where we like. What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.

I wanted to start with one biscuit, but the biscuits come in pairs. The waitress said I could order just one anyway, but the order ended up being two. I meant to save the second one for breakfast, but that was not to be. It did not survive long enough to make it out the door. My actual meal was a bacon swiss and mushroom burger, which was excellent. Between the biscuits and the burger, I am forced to acknowledge that it was entirely too much food. Sadly, that did not prevent me from eating all of it anyway. Delicious! The restaurant, which is a diner with very basic decor, is on an approach road to IAH, and is open 24/7. When I arrived in the evening, the place was empty. By the time I left, there were a whole bunch of customers. I noticed in other reviews that people were saying they did not receive checks for their meal and felt they were over-charged at the register. I did not receive a check either, but the amount I was charged at the register seemed accurate -- and I was paying attention because I had read the other reviews first.

Our server was also very nice, and super helpful as I asked for a wine suggestion and she hit the nail with her suggestion. She brought a small sample for me to try before serving it. The food itself was delicious! We got the onion rings appetizer, and you could tell they were made to order. They were super fresh and also crispy. Mr. Picky ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp while I opted for Veal Parmigiana, and we each stole a bite from the other's plate. We reached consensus immediately that both dishes were well-seasoned and quite delicious, meaning we would return for more good food in the future. Seriously, we hadn't expected much when walking in and looking around, but were pleasantly surprised at the kitchen's efforts. We finished lunch with an order of homemade bread pudding and tiramisu, the latter of which in 2012 won a chamber of commerce epicurean competition 1st place ribbon. I wasn't there to judge that competition and have had better, but sincerely appreciated the moistness of the bread pudding. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
