I came here for breakfast and left really happy. The menu has plenty of options, but I went simple: an omelet and coffee. The omelet was spot-on--fluffy, well seasoned, and cooked exactly the way I like it. What really made the visit, though, was the coffee. It tasted great and they serve it with little designs and words on top. It sounds small, but that extra touch makes the whole experience feel thoughtful and fun. The space itself is bright and inviting with lots of seating, so you don't feel squeezed in even when it gets busy. Service was quick and friendly from the moment we walked in to the moment we paid, which I always appreciate at breakfast time. Price-wise, I'd call it around average for the area--maybe a touch above--but it matches the quality, presentation, and overall vibe

We were staying nearby and decided to stop in for a nice brunch. This cafe is adorable, you could grab a drink with a friend or sit with your family and have a meal. And that's what we did. My daughter really wanted pasta and the spaghetti marinara was spot on. The meatballs were well seasoned and the red sauce was delicious. Bonus for the bread that comes with to dip in the red sauce. She also got a cold chocolat chaud (yes! you can ask for it iced!) The hubs got a BLT on baguette! It's definitely different than what we're used to seeing and he gobbled it up so fast, I barely got a photo. It paired nicely with his cold brew. I really wanted to try their pastries and got a ham and cheese pastry. Unfortunately they were out and so they made me a ham and swiss on a croissant and it was super delicious. And fresh! I got a chai latte with almond milk, it wasn't as spicy as it usually is but had a nice mild flavor. Next time I will order it extra hot because it came kind of luke warm.

Someone knows how to bake here! I had the spinach quiche and the crust was perfect. On a previous visit the croissant was done well. Busy place for breakfast. Counter service where the food is brought out to the table. Also one of those rare places where they know how to do a cappuccino properly.

Overall it's a nice spot, the food was enjoyable but nothing exciting, basic presentation. The heart healthy scramble was somewhat dull in flavors. The egg salad is great, the omelette was prepped nicely but is missing a salad or potato side for the price. counter order with table delivery makes it convenient. food was delivered in a timely manner. They have a Wide selection of desserts and pastries, the one we got was mediocre. pleasant and relaxed atmosphere makes it a nice place to socialize.

What does boulangerie, viennoiserie, patisserie and epicerie all have in common? (#1) They're all things that Houston lacks sorely. Luckily there's French Riviera in the Galleria, which fancies itself as a place that has all of the above. I'm not sure if the current ownership are the original owners, but supposedly they've been in business for the better part of 40 years. For yours truly, this has been the destination for many things: brunch with friends, al fresco wine sipping, a post-meal dessert spot, or the occasional caffeinated WiFi session. The place has cafe vibes mixed in with a little bistro fun, with many items on display. Order at the counter, a number will be assigned, sit wherever, and the food / drink will be brought out once ready. I'm such a fan of the mint lemonade that I tend to order more than one if I'm there for more than an hour. The staff is vast and they're good about making sure waits are minimal. Overall, customer service is friendly, efficient, and welcoming. There may be some element of sticker shock for first timers, but anything French tends to run higher price wise. __________ (#1) This is the start of a bad joke, in which the answer is he European Houston dining scene.

Cute and friendly place for great coffee, breakfast and pastries! A little on the spendier side, but everything tasted excellent and the pastries are fresh and beautiful. Would go again!

I always love coming to this cafe. It's very clean and organized and never disappoints! This time I got a spinach quiche and a petite salad. It was super fresh and the perfect size. The quiche was delicious and moist inside. The outside beautifully cooked and crispy. I also ordered a strawberry macaron which was one of the best, if not the best, fruit flavored macaron I've had anywhere. I am a big macaron fan and fruit flavored ones can be tricky. This one was balanced and a strong natural strawberry flavor. They had a lot of things for sale. Seemingly French, or french inspired, pantry items, towels, and bags. The bathrooms were clean and there is a bunch of parking!

Absolutely love this bakery/cafe. Really good selection of French pastries. I love the chicken salad sandwich and tuna on baguette. The coffee is 10/10. I love the vibe as well.

Someone recommended this place to me because of their croissants. Let me tell you they did not disappoint! I've been here a few times now. Every time I come it's packed. They have a patio outside and ample seating inside just not for large groups. It's very intimate two top tables! Good I'd heart and portions are massive. Almond croissant rivals my top one I had from a bakery in Guatemala. There's a mix of different bakery, breakfast & lunch items to choose from. Great place for a meeting or to catch up with friends!

I stopped by for a croissant and iced latte and loved how cute this spot is! They have a cute interior design, great spot for breakfast. Lots of pastry options, macarons, croissants, desserts. Staff is friendly, I called in and ordered this as I was on the way to work and when I arrived my items were prepared & ready to pick up! Although I only stopped by to pick up I would definitely go back to eat breakfast here.

It was my first visit and I was amazed by all the fantastic food choices. The decor was inviting with abundant number of green plants. It was hard to decide. I ordered the healthy omelette with mushrooms with spinach and it was fantastic. Everything came out quickly and the staff was very friendly. The cappuccino was delicious, I loved the chocolate cake with espresso. I highly recommend.

My first time here. I ordered the Rustic Scramble - plain scramble, pan seared ham, fresh tomato, avocado with a croissant. It was just as you would imagine. Nothing too out of the ordinary. The croissant was light and fluffy. I also got their Almond Croissant, also great. I also got the Mille-Feuille (Napoleon) translated to one thousand layers and also known as milhojas: flaky puff pastry layers, vanilla pastry cream, generous dusting of powdered sugar. So delicious. I got the Almond Biscotti - twice-baked almond cookie and those were ok would not buy again because they were over baked in my opinion. It was pretty busy on a Saturday around lunch and unfortunately they are closed on Sundays. Can't wait to try some of their other items. Small tables and a casual atmosphere.

The ambience beats everything. Capuchino is on point. chocolate tastes real in here not just sugary syrup. Service is excellent. NO ketchup

Ask the Community - French Riviera Bakery Cafe

Do they have oat milk substitute?

Yep, they carry oat milk. I ordered it with my americano this morning & they provided it steamed in a separate cup for me to add independently.

Can I order for takeout?

Yes pick up orders

Will they be open this Saturday?

No. They will be closed July 3rd-25th.

Do they serve alcohol during brunch? ie mimosas?

Sorry Christine, they don't serve alcohol. But I would recommend the fresh squeezed OJ and the coffee!! Also there 3 egg omelets and croissants are to die for. :)

When are they going to re-open?

They had a sign closed from 3rd to 25th July

Do I have to ask for that cute bear on my coffee?

Yes you do. As noted by someone else I only saw it done only on request

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. Regardless, definitely give this place a go to come for a pastry and coffee.
