So, I usually order the croissants, which are big and appropriately flaky. I don't know if they make thier own dough. It is an intense project of ensuring the dough and butter mesh to appropriately create the steam in the dough. They could be using a lamination machine. Fun fact: I always make croissants from scratch. I also make a salmon en crute which I use canned salmon, cream cheese, peppercorns crushed, lemon juice and a pinch of lemon zest. I stuff my mixture in my croissant and top it with everything but the bagel seasoning from Trader Joe's. I also make a great raspberry almond cheesecake croissant. I add the raspberry and almond paste to the softened cream cheese. I add a bit of vanilla extract, one egg, and a little sour cream. Maybe 3/4 cup. Flo Paris has delicious banana bread. I absolutely love that it's not that sweet! They also have a delicious quiche Lorraine that is simple the best. They have a good variety of croissants. Like they have a ham and cheese croissant that is delicious. They have a variety of quiche. A very delicious variety of sandwiches, drinks, coffee, tea, desserts and treats as well as homemade potato chips. I know I'm forgetting some things. Come on over and enjoy. read more

This was my first time at Flo Paris and WOW! I'm already planning my next visit. From the moment I walked in, everything felt warm and welcoming. The space is beautiful, clean, and has such a charming ambiance that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. The hardest part? Deciding what to order because everything looked absolutely incredible. The pastries and food display alone are enough to make you stop and stare. I ended up choosing a couple of items and every single bite was amazingly fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can truly taste the quality. The service was just as impressive. Everyone was so friendly, patient, and helpful, especially while I was trying to decide. The couple after me got their breakfast while I was still waiting for my plain croissant and oat cappuccino. The previous team also had poor timing with any coffee drinks it just took forever and sometimes wouldn't come until you finished your meal. I've been here almost a decade ago and sparingly since then, but when I heard there was new management, I went to go check it out. The owners and staff are French and you can tell they really care about what they have to offer. I wanted a marble cake slice and they said they wouldn't sell it to me because it was the last one and it didn't look good enough to sell. We got the cheesecake and wow it's amazing. Perfectly creamy and smooth with the fruit jam and chocolate adding the right amount of sweetness. Dare I say my favorite cheesecake in all of Houston. Inside the restaurant looks like it did all those years back. It's still light and airy and clean inside. Definitely recommend trying it out. read more

Haven't been in here in a few years, so decided to take a visit for some coffee and pastries. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff, they were both very kind and helpful. All the pastries, desserts, and food looked amazing! It was a little difficult to decided without ordering all of it. Ordered a couple lattes as well which came out looking perfect and tasted just as good. The place itself was very clean and inviting and had a nice ambiance to enjoy your fun little treat. We dined here after the reccomendation from some neighborhood friends. The experience was great and I would easily go back! The food is very good. I had the Paris criossant which had ham and cheese. This was excellent: soft, rich, buttery, not too salty, not tough, not overly cheesy or overdone in any way. It was really a great balance of the ingredients. It came with a small simple side salad with balsamic dressing which was nothing fancy but it was fresh. I had the Americano coffee and it was great: A robust, clean coffee flavor with more richness than a typical drop coffee. This restaurant does not offer unlimited coffee refills that could tell. My companion had the chai latte and it was exceptionally good: Unlike many mass market chai lattes, this was not overly sweet or overly heavy. It was a great balance of minimal sweetness, minimal cream, while having an appropriate chai flavor. Very good! We shared an upside down crossiant-like sticky bun and it was amazing: A soft inside somewhere between a croissant and a high quality bread, with crunchy sweetness where the sugar and spice sank to the bottom of the pan. Like the other products, this was not over-reliant on any one feature, but a great balance between bread and sweetness. Not bland, but not screaming sweet or oily. The prices are very reasonable. The two of us had two lunch/brunch entrees, 2 coffees, and a single desert pastry for about $40. The service was also very good. The restaurant was busy with workers working tables and working behind the counter. The manager (or owner) brought out samples of a desert which we tried and would buy. Shop is small, intimate, clean, inviting. Beautiful pastries are artfully arranged, easy to view. The server kindly answered my questions, gave recommendations and carefully placed my purchases in a sturdy bakery box. I had my first order from Flo Paris and was very excited to try the Chicken and Brie crepes. It came with a side house salad. The chicken was barely seasoned, but my larger concern was that it was not cooked fully. My salad was just field greens. My colleague at least had a slice of tomato, but I did not. When you order food to go, it comes in a box, so I plated mine to eat. In the photo you will see what was received. Lastly, the crepe had a texture of and tasted more like a tortilla. Ordered catering for a company training. It was supposed to be delivered at 11am. At 11 they told us they lost the order and had to make it again and it would be ready around noon. At 11:30 they told us we wouldn't be getting any lunch at all because they can't make an order for that many people in such a short amount of time. Not cool. They really left us hanging. We changed the order of the training modules in order to accommodate a later lunch....and then there was no lunch at all. Highlight of my experience was the orange juice lol. I ordered a kid pancake with fresh fruit and scrambled eggs, the crème brûlée croissant, the lavender honey oat milk latte, the French toast with mascarpone and fresh fruit and a side of bacon. For starters the crème brûlée croissant was everything! I honestly expected it to be flakier but it tasted really good and the crème brûlée filling was delicious. I ordered the lavender honey oat milk latte, prior to ordering it I asked the lady if it was good and she said it was "okay" and it was just that. It had a very funny after taste and I sent it bck. My bacon was cooked well enough, a few seconds more, it would have been burnt. The French toast with mascarpone, was good! Only hiccup is they bring you ice cold syrup! We had to ask for warm or hot syrup. That was disappointing. The fruit/fruit cup, looked dried out. Wasn't colorful, was dull and cold. I would go back, not for the food but for the pastries! I really enjoy Flo Paris. I'm not really the type of person to go out of my way to bakeries. I just don't have a big sweet tooth. That being said, I've found myself at Flo Paris a few times. Typically, I've only ordered a coffee or other drink there but the last time I was there, I decided to try some of the baked goods. I was not disappointed at all. Everything was delightful and very delicious. It is sweet for sure but occasionally I will partake in the sweetness. On this particular trip, I tried the Opera, which is a chocolate bar of deliciousness. The strawberry cream puff, which is a creamy crumbly fruit covered cloud of sweetness and a berry covered cheesecake that was exceptionally well made and tasted great. I also ordered a matcha latte that was not bad. I like my matcha a little in the stronger side so I find myself becoming more critical on matcha lattes but this one was decent and presented very well. The great part about Flo Paris is the service and ambience. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with a smile and the staff is very helpful in ordering. There's always a soft hum of conversation in the air as people enjoy a sweet treat and sip on a drink in this lovely decorated and quaint cafe. read more

You'd miss it if you don't know where to look- adorned with faux sunflowers, I'd recommend looking for their patio and corner spot signage. One of the only places in the city I can go and hear real French, I've been to this spot a million times, but recently I've noticed a few things: *it's usually very quiet...like no music to fill the space between conversation quiet *the owners seem to be working themselves to death. I suppose they're short on staff. They're often spotted taking orders, or offering to help take large purchases out to patrons cars, but all of this being said, I rarely receive my order in a timely fashion (which is alright with me. I'm not exactly the microwave culture type patron, BUT it's not the norm) *They do not offer alt milks when ordering coffee * In my year or two of patronage, I've had about 3 or 4 mix ups with my order. I'm pretty sure they gave me a regular coffee when ordering an Americano...ok, I know, I watched him pour it from the portable dripped coffee machine + the price I was charged was a $1 more than the price listed on their board. Additionally, when ordering a crepe with Nutella strawberries & hazelnuts I received one with Nutella, strawberries & almonds instead...twice. Apparently they no longer carry hazelnut but the individuals who took my order did not inform me. Additionally my crepe has been made incorrectly twice. On the plus side, they have amazing eclairs, and many of their pastries are delicious. I'm wishing them some extra support as I understand, when you're short staffed & over worked, things slip through the cracks. read more

If you are a fan of authentic French pastry and vienoiserie then avoid this place. These were easily some of the worst croissants I have ever eaten. Seriously, the ones you can buy in a grocery store are actually better than this. Flo's look ok from the outside but they have absolutely no butterflavor. The texture is a mess. And it seems likely that the ones they sell today may have been made yesterday. I don't know if that's actually true but they sure taste like it. We went while in between running errands, we were craving coffee and a quick bite. I ordered the fig and Brie sandwich and was asked if I want a baguette or sandwich bread. I explained I wanted a sandwich. My husband ordered one as well, and asked for a coffee. They told us the coffee was self service, next to the soda and water. We go to grab coffee, and they're out of it. And hadn't even noticed. It's not late in the day, so they should have been checking but okay let's let that go. So we tell 'em and they get started on brewing another canister of coffee. Meanwhile our meals get packed up and we're waiting for our coffee before we leave. It finally finishes brewing and the server decides to pour herself a cup, before a waiting customer. I mean, look, the folks feeding us and waiting on us have a thankless job at times. I get it. Could she not have waited? We weren't seated, we were waiting right next to the coffee while it brewed because we were in a hurry and wanted to grab and go. That seems like not the right attitude. Then we notice there's no cream, half and half, milk of any kind by the coffee. So we ask, and they go oh yeah we're out. Okay- well I don't take my coffee black, oh well too bad. No, hey you ordered a thing, waited for it, and now it's not the thing you were promised or purchased here's even an offer for your money back. They could not be less caring about how they treated us or our experience. Then we get in the car and find they gave us the wrong sandwiches entirely. Just lovely. Houston is thriving with amazing restaurants. One this subpar and frankly rude and uncaring to their customers shouldn't be a place you visit. read more

He told the owners and the chef about a Mama duck and her ducklings and they graciously gave us additional bread to feed the ducks. The Establishment was very French in decor and cuisine, it's tucked away in this nice little corner on Chimney Rock and Westheimer. I ordered the classic omelette, which came with eggs ham and cheese. This omelet was seasoned well, and perfectly cooked. I also ordered a caramel latte, which was very good, the latte had some sweetness to it but it was not overly sweet, which was excellent. Now they don't have an official gluten free menu, however they do serve a variety of omelettes with potatoes on the side. So that is what I opted for. The Establishment was very clean and nicely organized. All pastries were on display behind a glass, to place an order you simply walk up to the pastry display or to the register and let the attendant know what you'd like. The process was simple and efficient, which was appreciated. I gave four stars, only because for a bakery it would be nice if they had gluten-free baked items as well. Checked out a French bakery off of Memorial called Flo's Paris Bakery. We tried several different pastries. The Pavolva was a layered pastry with whipped cream, white chocolate ganache, a mango purée, and meringue. I thought the meringue was nice & crunchy but the mango was too tart. The Nutella croissant came warm with a gooey filling. I'm not big on Nutella, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. We also had the Strawberry cream puff. The cream was really good but I felt the pastry was dry/not fresh so I just ate the cream off of it. We got two mini French macarons. The raspberry one was really good but it only a dot of raspberry so not nearly enough & the vanilla one was old so the shell was too hard & cracked. The place was clean & the staff was nice, but it was super hot in the store.
