This is an unassuming diner near IAH and has the benefit of being open 24/7. We stopped by as we were picking someone up later in the night and due to travel time and time change and time zones, they were starving. It was super quiet, with basically only 2 other parties and our waitress. Our waitress was very friendly and kind, she checked in on us but didn't stick around to chat or anything. She gave us time to look through their menu, which has quite a lot (basically Denny's, IHOP, etc.). Food came out and was all quite enjoyable. I got the country fried steak and it wasn't a gourmet meal but I knew where I was and would say the food beat my expectations. The biscuit was soft and fluffy, they don't have real butter but again, its a diner by an airport and food is like $10-15 a plate. The hashbrowns were flavorful with very crispy pieces and the eggs and country fried steak were all great. I'd say I was pleasantly surprised by this spot and would recommend it if you're in the area and hungry. Overall, its a surprisingly nice and tasty diner that's super convenient for traveling folks. Its not a destination spot but for what it is, it met and exceeded my expectations.

Why is he so special? I met him. He is a Vietnam Veteran. So respect to him.

I asked for a particular booth and was told no because things were falling there. Not ten minutes later a man in a red shirt showed up and he was given the seat I asked for. My food was ordered before his. He got his food before me. When I got my food, it was luke warm. Luke warm pancakes suck. The restaurant looks like a cafeteria.

Wow, talk about a hidden gem - this is one of them. First off, OPEN 24 HOURS ! This restaurant was clean, neat and had an exceptional selection of food. The waitresses were friendly. The service was quick. The food was phenomenal. There was nothing greasy about my breakfast- it was cooked to perfection- even the location was easy and convenient to get to. Plenty of parking. Plenty of room inside the restaurant- I was there very early in the morning and so the restaurant wasn't crazy busy ( which I loved ). If I come back to Houston, I'll be eating here. The prices were in line with the type of restaurant it is - sort of a cross between a dennys and an ihop but BETTER !

    Fluffy awesome pancakes!

Ok, walked in around 1030 or so. Place was almost empty, got a waitress right away. Ordered my brunch, pancakes, bacon, sausage & bacon. Food came out hot & fresh. These were really good pancakes, fluffy & delicious! Direct hit! The sausage was tasty & hot still, bacon was not over cooked, thank you. Washed it all down with an orange juice, blew up my sugar!

As for the food....my Corn Beef Hash was described as "chunky corn beef bits combined w/crisp potatoes". It was not. As you can see it appears to be out of a can; not chunky beef and not crisp potatoes. As you can see by my pix it looks like the slab of corn beef hash mixture was thrown on the griddle and forgotten & burnt flipped over for a second then served. It was not mixed up & heated through. I was already on a time schedule & hungry so had to eat and move on.The buttermilk biscuit was suppose to be home made, but I have my doubts. It was not HOT and not very buttermilked. Finally, the cup of fruit was room temperature, not cool/cold and seemed retail. The hosted talked to the owner by phone & there was a lengthy discussion, so much so I offered to pay. You would think it would be an easy decision as to what to do. The hostess relayed that the owner/Mgr would make an effort to improve. In my mind it would be serving the item as describes or changing the item description. Not sure about future visits.

Thankfully, Mark was there and initially was told a 35 minute wait but seemed intent by quicker. Ambiance: 4/5 It was breakfast time so of course it was a busy time. For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

You stand in line, order and pay first, and the you get a table. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get a table because the dinning room was packed but as soon as I finished ordering, a few tables cleared up. This is southern style breakfast at its best!!! The food came out quickly. I ordered the fried catfish dish that came with two eggs, a biscuit, and grits. The biscuit was delicious, making it ag great accompaniment to the dish. The fried catfish was very flavorful and the crispy batter clung to the fish perfectly, preventing it from falling apart. I enjoyed my meal a lot and would definitely order it again, despite feeling a bit heavy and bloated afterward. Great establishment. I highly recommend trying this place at least once. Note: There's hardly any parking in front of the entrance but there's more parking across the street by the building with the closed down catering company. Also, a little further down by the Obamas' mural, there's a parking lot dedicated just for customers of The Breakfast Klub.

My cup was full before I got to a quarter glass. We did the waffle breakfast and literally everything was spectacular, the eggs, the sausage, waffle was crunchy on the surface with fluffy innards. The other part that struck me was how diverse it was. There were maybe a dozen people outside waiting to be seated of all shapes, colors, and sizes. When we were gallivanting around the greater Houston area, I was thinking cowboy boots and 40 gallon hats. Instead we got chuck Taylor's and booty shorts. I was like okay, this is my vibe. Baby Barns is a really cozy, kinda tight place. It's not a place you wanna take a party of more than 4 or 5. But if you're hungry and in need of a shopping break or want something a little less commercial then Baby B's is the spot, especially if you don't wanna wait in the Breakfast Klub line until Thanksgiving.
