    Cornbread on point!

My son and I are here on the go and wanted to give a shout out to the cornbread. It was amazing and well cooked. The waitress that day was so friendly and helpful. Excellent service. I loved the homey vibes too. Highly recommend.

My wife and I were visiting Houston and came in to the Cafe for the first time with a large party of 11pm a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating, although it did take a little while for our party to be seated because of available tables, totally understandable given our party size. When we finally got sat our server was very attentive to our needs from the start which elevated our dining experience. To start, we ordered 3 cornbread starters--they came out fresh and paired amazingly with their whipped butter! For my entree I ordered the "Meat Lovers Omelette"--an omelette filled with bacon, ham, sausage and cheddar cheese. It came with a biscuit, a protein (sausage patties), and country potatoes. The plate portioning was HUGE. It was hard to finish because of how much there was--definitely good for the price we paid. Regarding the quality, it wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either. Some of my food didn't taste fresh, and there was a lack of balance in my omelette, sometimes there were just big bites of pure egg which weren't enjoyable. If I could rate this place a 3.5 I would. Wasn't horrible, but wasn't amazing either. Definitely good if you're looking to fill yourself up with a large volume of food for a great price. Might come back if we're in the area again!

The decor is pretty cool in this place. Why do they have an antique shop upstairs? Maybe one day I'll go back just to see that. If you want a pretty decent breakfast coupled with pretty decent pricing, this place will tickle your fancy. I just tried the daily special after seeing all the options. 2 eggs, sausage, and pancakes are good enough for me. The waitress did a good job recommending the link sausage over the pan sausage. That link sausage is full of flavor. You can pay an upgrade charge to have the pancakes have extras in them. You will notice that my fatness told me to get pecan pancakes and blueberry pancakes. They did not skimp on adding either inside the pancakes. I wish they did an all you can eat pancake promotion. All in all, this is a decent place to visit and eat.

We have a group of retired friends who like to get together once a month for a lunch out. We come to the Humble City Cafe a few times a year, the food is always good and the service is great. We usually ask for a big table to seat 14 or so and they oblige, we try to come around 12:30 as the lunch crowd starts to thin a bit. Parking used to be a challenge but the city put in a public lot around the corner which is so convenient. Today I had a half order of the Chicken Quesadillas and a side of the Fried Green Tomatoes. My wife tried the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and baked apples. Everything was great and considering the size of our group, the food all came out quite quickly from the time we ordered. I was glad I got the half order as it was all I could eat. If you haven't tried the food here you really should. The interior is decorated with all kind of cute antique signs and other memorabilia.

Today was our first visit to Humble City Cafe and I have to say it was very pleasant. Plenty of parking and easy to find. The host was very kind and answered all of my nervous questions that I could not find answers to online. Our waitress was very attentive and quick. She was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond and was very kind. Now to the food! We came on a Sunday at about 11:30am, perfect time to still have breakfast and lunch. It was not over crowded or uncomfortable. We were a party of 4, half of us ate breakfast and the other, dinner/lunch. Portions were large and more than reasonably priced. If you're wanting a "home cooked meal" then this place is for you. Burgers are huge, so order with caution but the taste was wonderful for a beefy burger! One of the many things I definitely loved about this place, they bring out fresh cornbread to the table! Yummy. Overall, the restaurant itself was clean inside and out. Definitely will come again to try other items.

I've lived here forever and somehow missed this stellar location. I just keep smacking my head thinking of the friends and family I could have taken here. Just have to do it going forward. This is good country eating at its best. The food is outstanding, the choices vast and the serving's plentiful and hearty. The chicken fried steak is available in two sizes a half and a full, don't be fooled, that half will occupy most of your plate but get the full so you can take some home. I had cabbage and sweet potatoes as sides, both made me eat my veggies first. Same could be said of the steaming hot fried okra, solid southern cuisine. I would be remiss not to mention the cornbread served as an appetizer. Hot, it is served in an iron skillet with two types of butter, this is a thing of beauty! Head on over.

We have the pecan chicken salad with the fried green tomatoes. Black eyed peas were delicious. Cakes and pies were fantastic. Service was great in a friendly, clean and family atmosphere. Thank you, Deborah and Jim!

We came here on the way to our weekend home in Livingston! Loved the small town ambiance and there was not a long wait time to come in. We were seated promptly and were given our drinks quickly, however we can't say the same for the food. I know they were busy but our food did not come out until about 45 min later. The food was good, and apologies for not posting an image, as we devoured it by the time it came out. The server kindly discounted our meal but I would definitely speak up going forward to improve the experience. Overall, recommend despite the inconvenience.

The ambiance was great, the service was relatively fast, the food was decent. The chicken fried steak was good, I personally didn't like the gravy but it wasn't bad. The fried green tomatoes with ranch were to die for! As well as the fries and tater tots. I tried some of my boyfriend's Philly cheese steak sandwich, it was good. The food isn't very seasoned but it isn't bad! Would go again!

We try to support local Kingwood are restaurants and hadn't been to Union Kitchen in quite a while. We arrived and asked for a table for 6, the dining room was busy so they said it would be a few minutes. Then 3 more of our group we hadn't expected arrived and the hostess quickly let the servers know to make our table larger. We only had to wait 8 or 9 minutes and were seated in the side dining room which was great as it was not crowded so it was easy to talk without a lot of ambient noise from the more crowded main room. I believe one of the assistant managers began taking drink orders as our designated server was finishing up some tables nearby. She had a great sense of humor and quickly went to get our drinks. FYI, they have both an All Day menu and a lunch special one which we hadn't seen before a their website so that is an option and is a bit less expensive with smaller servings than the All Day one. As it was April 15, they had a special small Tax Day menu where everything was prices at $4.15! What a cute idea! We all ordered our lunches and soon we were enjoying what was brought out. I had the special lentil soup and the blackened salmon tacos, my wife had the 1/2 lb classic burger and the house made potato chips. Everything was excellent. Glad we stopped by for our group lunch.

We saw it online and loved the vast menu selection so we thought we'd give it a try. From the exterior, it doesn't look like much almost looks like you could be walking into a craft store or a boot barn cause it's just in a shopping mall strip center. But once you enter inside, the dark wood, the wine bottles, the lighting all creates a very nice ambience of an upscale restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. We were just grabbing a bite to eat before a movie and this place turned out to be much nicer than me. I previously anticipated. We decided to order off of the Happy Hour menu so that we could try several things. We got the queso dip of course...because, when in Texas...We also got the crabcakes and a cheeseburger with truffle fries. They had some great drink specials, but we got ice tea instead. That was plenty of food for two of us to share. Out of the three items that we ordered off the Happy Hour menu, I would say the cheesburger was the best! The bun was small enough to not be overwhelming and the meat had a very nice barbecue taste. The crabcakes were OK as was the queso. Our waiter gave excellent service! Can't remember his name, but he was tall and I believe had dirty blonde hair. The entire meal was super yummy with excellent service and convenient. Couldn't ask for more. We definitely recommend this place. We wanted to get beignets for dessert, but we were too full to order anything else. Oh and if you go at Happy Hour, even if you're not drinking, everything on the Happy Hour menu is 50% off. Check it out!

Our server did not have much insight on any favorites, choices or menu items, as admittedly "she doesn't eat their food." Perhaps she has a specific diet and hates taking orders. She skipped right over me and took everyone's order before me (males) even though I was speaking to her. I really dislike when someone says that as they should know it's not good for business, however I simply take it as they don't like their job or is not sociable. It was the first time for my whole family, as we've skipped it many times for its parking lot neighbor--cheddars. (Please keep doing that). Black Bear Diner is a mediocre, moderately priced, cookie cutter dining experience for breakfast and lunch. It has a large menu of mostly same named breakfast/dinner all day menu kind of set up. Food comes fast, pancakes apparently come with no butter. The blackberry lemonade was enjoyed by my family (it is VERY sweet and I don't enjoy sugar), the pancakes portion to bacon ratio is poor, the white cheddar bacon mac n cheese has the same skimpy bacon ratio; is very forgettable and may have the same supplier as Panera bread's Mac in a bag. Now the star of the show, the bear sized chicken fried steak, is normal sized. I inquired if I'd gotten normal by mistake and was told the normal portion was about the size of a (tiny woman shaped hands in a circle demonstration--about this big). The giant steak is how we landed there in the first place--I've been wanting to try it forever. However, that's the takeaway. I wanted it, I tried it, I do not crave it and won't be going again. We really wished we'd ate at home that morning. This is not a get out of bed or a desired dining experience. In fact, I found it annoying to wait in line to pay for something you are in a hurry to get away from. They bussed us out of there while I was still picking at the burnt hash browns and something tells me that black bear makes its money just before cheddars opens at 11. Sleep in and skip this place, especially if you're hungry as a bear

Why be in Texas when you can't have a steak? That's foolish talk really. My friends took me to a…read moresteakhouse on a Saturday evening. We came here early enough to beat the rush. It was my first time at a Texas Roadhouse steakhouse in Texas, if memory serves me correctly. We came here around 5:45 PM on a casual Saturday late afternoon / early evening. We were seated promptly and immediately. It was pretty busy when we stepped in. But as soon as we sat down, the early birds decide to rush in after us so it was glad that we came here early enough to grab a seat. Even my friend remarked that we got lucky with an empty table. The ambiance was very good and quiet. It was nice to be here and definitely miss having a mistake in the longest time. Me and my friends spent about a good hour and a half here from start to finish. I ended up getting a 16 ounce prime rib that was cooked rare. My sides were mashed potatoes - two servings. It was the time that I needed to carb load up for a 50 mile foot race within two days time. Gotta prepare of course. My friends ordered a sampler appetizer platter and also ordered steaks as well. All in all, it was a nice evening out with friends. The prime rib was cooked excellent and definitely was very enjoyable. Prices here were not terrible or bad, considering how much steak prices are nowadays. $30 for a 16 oz prime rib in a reputable steakhouse is around the norm these days. You just enjoy it while you can, which I thoroughly did while on vacation here in Texas. Our overall experience here at this Texas roadhouse steakhouse in Humble, Texas was very good and definitely one to remember. It was nice and quite satisfying to say. Not sure if they had wifi or not, but it didn't matter. The service here was very good and professional. The waitstaff checked up on us twice after ordering to make sure we were doing good. All in all, it was a nice typical dinner with friends. It was cool to have prime rib and enjoy company among friends. For the most part though, the air conditioning could have been better, but everything else was near optimal. The prices could have been better, but that's the economy at that point of time. And so, if you enjoy a real steak from a steakhouse, consider coming to Texas Roadhouse for your next piece of quality prime rib or porterhouse. This Texas Roadhouse steakhouse location is located in Humble, Texas. It's physically located at 9727 N Sam Houston Parkway E. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, best bet would be to get here early enough to beat the lunch or dinner rush. They have a generous amount of parking spaces, but could be bad when everyone is waiting for a spot. You're out of luck if you depend on public transportation since I don't think Humble has any regional public transportation that connects to Houston. Best thing to do is to rent a car or have local friends to take you around. Then there's always Uber or Lyft to take you on command, although it can be expensive, depending on where you originate from. And so, if you enjoy a good piece of steak or prime rib, consider coming to this Texas Roadhouse steakhouse for your next meal. Steak is always a feel good comfort food that makes everything nice and satisfying. Definitely recommended if you're in Houston or Humble area. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. Support local!
