I asked for the name of the manager - none available. Then I asked for the name of the owners - but was told they were not at liberty to disclose that fact. Today customer consideratuon sucked. If I could rate my experience at the Huffman cafe today it would be "Less than Zero" In fairness this is usually one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Huffman. I really enjoy their breakfast menu. I know they close at 3:00 pm so I always take their closing time into consideration when deciding to go there for a meal. Today we walked in at 1:45. There wasn't any sign on the door informing the public they were closing early. Music was playing and people were eating and enjoying their food. We asked to be seated and some blonde headed bimbo informed us the kitchen was already closed. I mentioned their announced closing time was 3:00 pm. The bimbo replied " the kitchen shut down early" with no other explanation. Instead of arguing some more we turned around and left. I would never go to a restaurant 15-20 minutes before they closed and expect them to remain open for another 2 hours so I could finish a meal. Such action on my part would be rude and inconsiderate of the staff. At the same time the actions of the Huffman cafe today demonstrate that customer service and consideration is a foreign language to them. If I was the owner/ manager of Huffman cafe and had observed the actions of the blonde bimbo today I would have either resigned or fired her. My resignation would be based on my failure to train my staff. The basis for firing would be failure to follow training. I will not threaten to never eat here again. In fact I will probably recommend it to others that enjoy this type of establishment like I do. I do want to remind the people or person who controls the operation of the Huffman Cafe that business hours are a contract with the public and you need to ensure you say what you mean and do what you say. read more

It was a nice place to grab a quick bite. It's a small town food spot through and through. Staff is friendly and attentive. I went ahead and indulged in the chicken fried steak. Huffman Cafe is NOT located on FM 1960, it has moved a couple miles down to 24501 FM 2100, Huffman TX 77336. A friend lives nearby and said this is a great place to eat. He rated it 5 stars. I will be visiting very soon. read more

Stopped here for breakfast while working in Huffman on Saturday. Every small town in Texas used to have a place like this that's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food itself is standard diner fare and it's well above average. The staff is beyond friendly and takes pride in both their food and their service. Not being familiar with Huffman, we had found the cafe thru Yelp and found ourselves wanting good home foods . My mother was happy to see liver and onions, let me tell you.. my mother is the pickiest eater around and usually eats very little! She had turned her nose up at the gravy (I think she just likes to complain) After eating half her lunch - which was more than I've seen her eat for a few years now -she's 82- she asked for a doggie bag- while waiting - she nibbled on her leftovers having nothing to take home!!! We were visiting the area and my mom searched and found this gem. Outward appearance you can easily misjudge it, but the food was delicious! Portions are plentiful and everything was so good. After hearing about this place we decided to try it. Big Big Mistake ! My husband ordered chicken fried steak that tasted old and the hash browns were uncooked. I ordered liver and onions that weren't burned on one side and deliberately covered up to hopefully pass. We asked for it to be fixed and she told me we had to wait a long time to correct it.
