My new favorite dish at Ali's Compadres is the Mojarra Frita which is a tilapia fried whole. If you're looking for a break from the typical Al Tex-Mex try this disk. The skin is crispy (not breaded) and the flesh moist. I'm normally not a big fan of this fish species but I must admit this was worth the $18.98. read more

Entering it was a fast greeting from the waiter, the smell when you entered was abit off but it was immediately gone (could have been because the bar) greeted and sat on a booth and welcomed us with some chips and salsas, quick to take our orders and kept restocking out chips and salsas withought hesitation (loved that), food came out soon and the presentation was so pretty and so proffesional and sooo so soooo worth it!! 5/5 attendant workers and 5/5 taste in food, WILL COME BACK!! My husband and came here for date night and we learned our lesson to which we will not return. The frozen mango margaritas were not not frozen but chilled. (Liquidity) We ordered the special El Molcajete and all the meats ( fajitas, chicken fajitas, nopal cheese, and sausage was COLD) As if all the meats were set aside waiting for an order. My family and I used to LOVE this place but recently we have not had a good experiences. The service has always been amazing. No issues BUT these prices? They're RIDICULOUS. We've been two separate times and its just not the same. I'm not sure if it's the manager changing things but we just can't go anymore. The food again is microwaved and prices are not fair for what is being served. I say the staff are amazing wish the food was. The drinks at the bar maybe the only reason people show up. Picked up dinner to go while working at the EMS station across the street. First of all, I appreciate their attention to detail on the to-go orders. Each order came out correctly and was packaged in a way to preserve the hot food. I also appreciated their generosity with the cups of salsa and a few bags of chips. My fajita enchiladas and rice were definitely above average. There was plenty of meat and the sauce and cheese were plentiful without being goopy. This is a very nice restaurant with very friendly people! We came on a Tuesday night and they had a lot of people there even for during the week. Their red salsa was awesome! We got their potato nachos with a mix of chicken and beef fajita. Those were awesome and I normally don't see that on many Mexican restaurant menus. We got a little bit of everything off the menu: street tacos, Glenn's favorite (potatoes and chicken/beef fajita and grilled onions/veggies with avocado), cheese quesadillas large order and a taco salad. Stopped in for a quick dinner with the husband and OMG we had one of the best experiences ever! First off, we were seated at the bar area immediately by a friendly hostess, then without any waiting we were brought fresh chips and salsa by a young nice gentleman who also took our drink and appetizer order. The margaritas were perfect! Once we were ready to order the manager came over to greet us and waited on us himself seeing that the place was pretty busy with the dinner rush. I ordered the Glen and it was so freaking awesome that I enjoyed literally every single bite. We were in the mood for some Mexican and I saw this place was relatively close to us and had good reviews. We were seated immediately and had wonderful service. The waiter answered all our questions and helped us pick out our meals since it was our first time. We were served chips and salsa and green sauce. I wasn't a fan of the salsa because it was warm (temperature wise) but the green sauce was very good. The menu had a couple items we both wanted to try so we will be back to try those out. The restaurant seemed like it's main dish was fajitas with a mixture of different veggies and meats. My fajita mixture was chicken, onions, green peppers and mushrooms and it came with bacon wrapped shrimp. I could have done with out the Shrimp but the fajitas themselves were very good. We came here on a packed Friday night. First of all I'm impressed that so many vehicles can fit on the piece of land next to the shopping center. we found a spot and went inside from the rain. Everyone else had the same idea as us it seemed. We we're seated pretty fast and given ample amounts of chips and red and green salsa. The red salsa was tasty and served warm, the green was thick and creamy. The chips were hand cut tortillas by the look and taste. Great texture and fresh. I had my drink refilled twice before our waiter noticed us. I understand that they were busy. One thing I noticed is that they had copious amounts of wait staff scurrying around. I went with the valle Hermosa dinner. It was 2 cheese enchiladas and beans and rice with 2 tacos on the side and a queso chip. Rice was good, enchiladas had a good creamy cheese that wasn't too rich. The taco meat beats iguana Joe's if that says much. All in all it's an ok place to eat that's not a chain restaurant that's not chain, and I'm sure it's family owned. Let me say that we have been to Los Compadres lots of times over the years, but in the last year we have seen the quality of the food go down. When you're Tex-Mex, you probably have to try harder because there are so many Tex-Mex restaurant options!! My husband got the mixed fajitas which had beef, chicken and shrimp. They were not hot, and weren't even sizzling when they brought them out like fajitas usually are. He also commented that the flour tortillas were crispy on the edges and he couldn't even roll them up. I got the ground beef enchiladas with charro beans. My meal was okay, but could've been hotter. I think we will just have to find another spot for our Tex-Mex fix... read more

I'm usually hesitant to try New Mexican food places but I feel like I scored a victory with Los Compadres. The service was great from the get go. The salsa is a warm salsa and didn't disappoint. Our dishes were the #33 and had a good sampling of all...enchilada, nachos, quesadillas, flauta. The flauta had beef fajitas and was so tasty. The marinated chicken in the quesadilla was surrounded by gooey jack cheese to perfection. The enchilada was good although I prefer a con carne topping instead of a meat gravy.
