My expectations of food are based on this is a hotel late lunch time. Chicken was good. Service happens before , during and after the meal which sets my mood and changes atmosphere. I arrived on the premies and waited for 25 min without anyone provide me a service or acknowledging my presence.

Stuck here at the Holiday Inn for 6 days so far for United employee training. Pretty much only eaten here for lunch and dinner. Food has been exceptionally good. Burgers, sandwiches, and the Salmon dinner all excellent. The steak fries are hand cut and lightly seasoned to perfection. Plan on trying breakfast next weekend and different entrees. I was staying at the Fairfield Inn, and this place was walking distance at night. Ordered a Cobb salad and a draft beer. Beer arrived right away. Dark local craft beer called Zeigerbok: delicious! They Do Not have 14oz ribeye they do not have the chicken tortilla soup, it doesn't have a mesquite grilled anything and I don't believe the NY strip was even charbroiled!! Asked for broccoli and got green beans... still decent, but basically NOTHING online is true to this place but the address. Since we didn't want to leave the hotel area we stayed and ate. I had breakfast at the blue dixie kitchen. The menu is simple and offers a variety of breakfast items. I chose the omelette and I asked for every ingredient listed in it. It was cooked perfectly and delicious and the potatoes that accompanied it were crisp and very good as well! It was a solid omelette overall. If you're staying at the Holiday Inn and want a decent breakfast then for sure visit the Blue Dixie kitchen especially since it's connected to the Hotel! This is attached to a Holiday Inn and has a bar with several TVs on with sports. Comfortable and staff was nice. Small menu. My wife got the turkey wrap which was a decent size but had one thin slice of turkey on it. Supposed to have avocado but there was none. Essence of aioli mayonnaise barely could taste it. I had a Reuben with very little meat on it but more than my wife's turkey, the problem was it was roast beef not corned beef! Sauerkraut was on the side along with a side of mayo. So there isn't a lot nearby that is open on a Sunday evening but if u have to eat there don't expect much. Maybe the burger would be ok read more

Had been here a few weeks before, and the food (philly cheesesteak and salad) was decent and well-priced, but our visit from this weekend will be our last. Service was slow (surprising because it was 7 pm on a Sunday and restaurant capacity was about maybe 50%), but the food was worse. Our friend had the cajun pasta and said it was good. However, my boyfriend and I had the burgers, and that was a terrible decision. They were incredibly dry and overcooked, even though we had asked for medium and medium-rare. The fries were old and stale. We would have sent it back but service was already slow enough as it was. The drinks had to be ordered from the bar, and that took a long while too, maybe about 10 minutes (and there were no customers at the bar, so not sure why it took that long to make 2 old fashioneds and a vodka tonic). Price was not justified either- the old fashioneds were at $24 each. This is a simple orange zest, bitters and whisky mix- that is a downtown price, not a casual restaurant by the airport price. Finally to add insult to injury, there was an included gratuity of 15%, not mentioned anywhere on signage or menu. No wonder the service was so appalling. read more

If there ever was a spot worthy of a three star review, Blue Dixie Is that place. Look, it's a restaurant inside a Holiday Inn by the airport. What are you expecting? Chances are, if this is where you have found yourself it's because it was nearby and it was open. If nearby and open are the criteria then you can do a lot worse (the other option is Jack in the Box). They have a full bar and the blackened chicken sandwich was completely edible though not exceptional by any means. Food and drinks? Yes they have them. read more

This was the best part of our stay. The staff was friendly, fast and the place was clean with great ambiance. We had both dinner and breakfast here. Kids eat free here, or atleast for the breakfast part. The plates for dinner were very generous portions. My Mushroom Swiss Burger was fantastic and done just how I asked, medium well. Often places can't get this right and usually under or over cook. But they nailed it, and were generous with the flavor, Swiss and mushrooms. They also give you a good amount of fries on the side. I was not able to finish mine. But it was hard to stop eating. Both the lady who helped us in the evening and the gentleman in the breakfast rush were very attentive. The place was packed both times. So I was impressed. Also, the hostess at the front was such a sweet lady and made us feel right at home. I really liked the decor that gave it the feel of a rustic cabin with its antler chandelier and stoney and wooden textures and earthy toned walls. The bar area was gorgeous as well. Service was terrible. Granted we had a new server but the trainer was terrible too. Our food was terrible too. Burger was okay but cold shoe string fries. Had ketchup and mustard on table but both empty went to two tables to find full ones. Spouse had a Ruben sandwich bread hard. More meat on gas station sandwich and same cold shoe string fries. It still wasn't ready and 10 minutes later they finally told me they hadn't started it and can start now. Overpriced, low quality ingredients. Tried the Philly cheesesteak and the "blackened" chicken. Neither sandwich had any flavor. The chicken in particular was a thin, tough piece of chicken breast that was neither blackened nor flavorful. The cheese was like chewy, tasteless plastic. Only highlight were the roasted red peppers on the chicken sandwich, and the bread on both was at least average. The fries were soft and mushy. School cafeteria quality. Everything probably cooked from frozen, and even then should still be better (and definitely cheaper, $36 for the two sandwiches and fries). Will not try again, will never recommend. read more

Only went one time for dinner before a cruise, because it was the closest restaurant to our hotel and we got a hotel shuttle. A starving family needed some good eats, and we got it!!! WE LOVE GOOD EATS!!!! Great service, adorable atmosphere, fantastic food and extensive options. They serve alcohol too. You can get salads, pasta, specialty grill options (great chicken), appetizers, and more. Very large portions too. And the sodas are huuuuuge. We had to stay in Holiday Inn because of missed flight, it is right at their doorstep, went here for both dinner and breakfast Dinner: We ordered hot and spicy wings, they were one of the best ones I had... juicy and spicy and delicious. If you can eat spicy stuff definitely give it a try. We loved it so much placed another ordered ..buffalo bites. We came by late but the staff are as attentive, kind and friendly. I come here every other day from the next door Fairfield inn & Suites a very clean non musty damp smelling hotel. My favorite lunch or flavorful dinner is the pork chops with mash potatoes with added bake potato toppings with cabbage or broccoli as last side. Delicious"''. I have lately sat at the full sports bar while eating. I would have a Stella cold draft and have good conversation with there very polite bartender named Angela..... She is socialable as much as possible taking care of her bar sitting customers and the rest of the restaurants drinking customers. Yet, it can get lively regardless of the time it takes to close then place down near closing time. Which is good since people can still have a good time here. What I ordered was the blackened Maui burger with mash potatoes it took roughly 15 minutes. Rather be hungry then starving when dining here. I ate every single bite which was warm to taste so that means I enjoyed it. I have worked in this industry so I can see that the size of the place gets to the staff. The food at this western-style restaurant is good, but it's not great. I've eaten here twice. Both times the food came out hot and tasty but, the second time, the food was salty - especially the vegetables, which were also a little undercooked. The service here is pretty good, could've been better. The wait staff is friendly enough, but not the most attentive. I found myself getting a little impatient waiting for a tea refill and also for the check. But, when they DO show up, they are always cordial. I did enjoy the meal, don't get me wrong. I went in today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised about the service that I received. I was immediately greeted at the door by 2 people and when escorted to my booth I was greeted by smiling wait staff that were working and waiting on other tables. I thought that was nice. My server was Salvador. He was very nice and courteous. He was on top of everything and made me feel welcome. If you read this and go here, ask for him. He has glasses and is kinda short and was a great server. My food was tasty and cooked fast and was pretty good. I had some jalapeno glazed chicken breast with green beans and baked potato soup. Excellent family restaurant, delicious and filling meal, conveniently located near the airport. We spent about $42 to feed a family of four (before tip, including taxes) We were stuck overnight due to a cancelled flight so honestly I probably would have been happy with anything at that point and wasn't expecting anything special. We walked in and I was pleasantly surprised by the ambience and decor. The hostess and waitress were both very friendly. The waitress had good knowledge of the menu items. They start you off with a basket of bread. The rolls were wonderful, and the butter had a hint of honey to it. The jalapeño cornbread was okay but nothing special. My kids got the Mac and cheese off the kids menu, which is their house made Mac and cheese and not the easy mac boxes you get at some restaurants. Delicious! Their meals also came with a beverage and they got a scoop of ice cream at the end. My husband got the chicken fried steak with okra and broccoli. CFS was tender and breaded perfectly, with a light covering of gravy. The veggies were cooked perfectly-he likes them steamed to slightly crispy. I had the beef tenderloin tip salad. The tenderloins were cooked to order, very juicy and tender! Seasoned perfectly! I set them aside and ate them separately because I didn't want to ruin the flavor with the salad dressing. My only complaint (and it's such a minor one I forgot to mention it to the waitress) was that two of our cloth napkins smelled terrible, like they had been soaked in grease and not cleaned properly. (Reminded me of my aprons after a shift waitressing) I know that's probably a minor thing and out of their control if they use a laundry service, but perhaps an employee will read this and address the issue and pay closer attention when rolling silverware. read more
