We came in on a rainy Tuesday afternoon and got serviced quickly. We got a variety of menu options to get a good sense of the flavor profile and were disappointed. Everything tried from the BBQ fried rice, jalapeño sausage, street corn, brisket (not pictured) and rib (not pictured) tasted bland, like minimal efforts were made to really season things despite looking quite appetizing. Their barbecue sauce came in clutch though and saved the day. For the price point, we came expecting more than what was delivered.

This is a favorite spot for mother and son eats our favorite is the barbecue fried rice. We get the same thing so often so that the team members know exactly how we order it; and the difference between mines and My son no onions order, we order eggs cook separately to add in our dish so they could be just as visible as the other ingredients. Thanks to my friend Tri I love the loaded, baked potato salad that tastes closely to a baked potato I even inquiry about adding lean top brisket to it, which would've been a small order of side and I was quoted nine dollars for a quarter pound to add to a five dollar side. Which I find a bit overpriced for just a small side to be over $14 when our main lunch entrée (which is a half order of the barbecue fried rice) and it is less than nine dollars. I look forward to the day they start a reward program, we are in here all the time. This My favorite small local business.

2024 and 2025 Michelin recipient, that should some it up for you. And yes they delivered, their brisket was amazing. The pickles and onions also played a big part too. Cool place and friendly staff to go with it.

Finally tried this spot! No wait time, but they were busy. I ordered the brisket and bbq fried rice with a side of Mac and cheese. Everything was pretty tasty but definitely overpriced in my opinion. Customer service was fast and friendly. The inside sitting area is somewhat small for their crowd but there's plenty of outside seating.

No wonder Brisket & Rice were nominated in 2024 & 2025 for a Michelin star restaurant. They served delicious food along with quick & friendly service. Brisket & Rice has a twist of Asian fusion and Texas BBQ. And to be honest it's well executed. My friend and I arrived around 5pm, although it was later in the day the food was fresh and prepared very well. I went ahead and ordered their brisket & rice, half pound of the pork ribs, Mac & Cheese, loaded baked potato salad & my friend got their prime brisket sandwich. The brisket and rice came out hot & fresh. It was smoky, tendered, and I love the addition of their Chinese sausages. I can tell it was made in a wok because it had that nice charred aroma to it. The pork ribs were also delicious, it was peppery, nicely glazed, tendered and fall off the bone. The Mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy and also had a lot of flavor. Noodles were al dente. Their potato salad is not your typical potato salad which has mayo/mustard/dill/relish. It's more like a loaded potato but sliced. It was very good. My friend brisket sandwich was also exceptional. Smoky, tendered and generous portions of meat. They have two types of bbq sauce but the mustard one tasted better. It was tangy, sweet with a mild heat to it. Honestly this restaurant deserves a lot of recognition. The prices are pretty affordable as well without having to spend hundreds of dollars like you would at the Pit room or Pinkertons. The ambiance is laid back with several seatings on the inside & they also have a patio as well. I can't wait to come back and try their chicken and sausages.

We hadn't returned since my last review, and they have since moved. We finally got the chance to make the trek to NW side and in summary, it did not disappoint, as expected. The food quality is the same (top notch), and the new location has boasts a nice patio space. Although we did seat ourselves outside, I imagine a nice breeze shooting through on the hotter days of summer. Interestingly enough, they retained the same wallpaper that the previous location featured. The service is friendly and efficient. More recently, Mark Weins also came by and he gave his patented eyes-closed, trademark stamp of approval, so you know the food hits the mark. Can't wait to come back soon.

This was our first time at Brisket & Rice and despite the great reviews and awards I was wondering if I would like it. BBQ and Japanese fusion? What IS that? Well, I'm glad I gave it a try. We noticed the restaurant closes at 7 so we went for an early Friday dinner. There weren't a ton of people there but it got busier as time went by t in and the crowd was steady and there was always a short line to order. Since it's called Brisket & Rice, that is what we ordered. Counter service is fast and friendly. The brisket was very moist and flavorful and the rice was delicious too! There is no wait staff so we were on our own for drinks and clearing the table after eating. All in all it was a great visit and I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.

Finally got to swing by Brisket & Rice to pickup some lunch for takeout while on my most recent Houston trip! It's a bit of a drive for us but I'm really glad we got to try it. I wanted a little bit of everything so I ended up ordering the brisket & rice plate + three sides: the slaw, the loaded potato salad, and the poor man's mac. I also tacked on the banana pudding because I'm always a sucker for that dessert. The friends I came with also ordered the fried rice for us to share. We took everything home with us but had some other stops in between so weren't able to dig into the food until about an hour after we got it. Maybe that's why the brisket itself was a bit of a letdown for me? The fatty parts were excellent but the leaner bits were a bit too dry/hard for my tastes. However the sauce helped cover that flaw up, and brisket always tastes great with freshly steamed jasmine rice. I also really enjoyed the pickles and onions that came with the plates; the tangy brightness really helped cut through the richness of the meat. The fried rice was definitely one of the main standouts. I would 100% come back just for that! Really glad I got to try it. The slaw the day we went was a bit bland for me; not sure if it was just that particular batch but IMO it could've used more flavor or salt. The loaded potato salad was also just okay, but I quite enjoyed the hint of spice and general flavor profile of the poor man's mac. I grew up eating something similar so it really took me back. The banana pudding was also great. I realized after I ordered that I forgot to get a sausage link since I was also interested in trying those, but I guess that just means I have to come back again the next time I'm in town!

Trying all the Michelin rated Bbq Parking: plenty! Place is in a shopping strip. Lots of stores and plenty of parking available. Staff: everyone was extremely sweet. Lady at cashier helped me pick and decide. Although I had lots of questions she was patient. Wait time: no wait time, no line and food was warm and ready quick. Seating: plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. Price: Average @$23 for a whole meal with drink Drink: sweet tea was perfect! Not too sweet Food: asked for the lean part of the brisket, the famous rice with brisket, Mac and cheese and of course the pickles and onions. Brisket was perfect, lean, soft and easy to chew. Rice had a great taste with a kick of sausage and brisket in every spoon. Mac and cheese was a creamy and tasty. Pickles and onions had a different but refreshing yummy crunch. Will Definitely be coming back for more. To go boxes available. Tables are not only cleaned but also disinfected as people leave. Place is kept clean and welcoming.

Finally a (popular?) BBQ joint where I don't have to wait hours in line. Came during prime time over the weekend and was surprised there wasn't a line out the door given that it's gaining popularity. Service from ordering to getting the food was quicker than I thought and the workers were nice to answer any questions that we had. There is also both indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of room to not feel cramped. Might need to get split tables though if you want to come with a large party. The meats were all REALLY good, especially the brisket and rice dishes - I guess that is why they are called Brisket and Rice? Can't complete the order without getting at least one of two. All the meats were well-portioned, did not have too much fat, and great flavor. I think one thing lacking though is the sides; none of them were super amazing or made me want to get seconds but I guess you don't go to a BBQ place for the sides. A bit out of the way for me but I would make the drive and will be back!

Beef Rib

Came here for the first time with my family. Always wanted to try this place since seeing a video of this business. We ordered their most famous and recommended Brisket and BBQ Fried Rice. We also ordered the Mac N Cheese, and their Beef Rib (sold only on Saturdays). Everything was so flavorful and delicious except for the beef ribs which I was so looking forward to smashing. It was not tender at all and half of it was super dry and almost beef jerky-like. Very disappointing. We made the 2hr drive just to check this place out too. Overall, decently priced for very tender and flavorful brisket and fried rice. Adding the complimentary sauces enhances the flavor as well. The staff are very friendly and fast. Lots of tables to dine on, but the outdoor seating area seems more spacious than the indoor area. Large parking lot and a set of private restrooms.

Brisket, baked potato, and onion mix.

This was a great spot for lunch. We shared a brisket and jasmine rice along with a "loaded baked potato" and a little combo of pickled jalapeños, onions, and cucumbers. We got our brisket without the drizzle. To my surprise, the 2 pieces of brisket were so tender and flavorful. The rice was plain (as advertised). I put my own drizzle of their red sauce on my piece of brisket. My boyfriend liked their mustard sauce on his. The loaded baked potato was really cut up boiled red potatoes with all the fixings on it. Genius idea. And the jalapeño combo was a nice side that was super flavorful. The bf had their sweet tea and liked it. The store and tables were clean and the cashier was really nice. I would eat here again any day.

Food was very good and interesting. Really nice portions so we walked out plenty full. We had the brisket with fried rice, the signature dish. We matched it with poor man's Mac and the Cranberry Almond Coleslaw. We also threw in a half of homemade sausage. I'd say the best of the bunch was the Mac and Sausage the rest was good but not exceptional. I have to admit if I'm going for a BBQ fusion I'd find my way to Blood Brother's BBQ where everything is more intense. Counter Service was friendly but don't expect prompt. The fried rice is fresh so expect it to take 20min. The place is nice, well lit but expect a crowded dinning room thus heavy usage. We had to clean our own table.

I've had sandwiches in NYC and Boston, but Tony's were definitely better! The menu is overwhelming because so much sounds good, so we went with two 7 inch sandwiches to split--one hot and one cold. Although a helpful tip from the cashier is that you can order any cold sandwich hot. We had the Lucky Luciano (hot) and the Sophia (cold). Both were really good--it was hard to choose between the two. But if I'm being honest, that cold sandwich was reminiscent of subs I loved in the early 2000s from places that no longer exist...with that super thinly sliced turkey, thick slice of Swiss cheese, and basil mayo--it really hit the spot. We also had a cannolo--not as good as others I've had. The bottled root beer was delightful. The Lucky Luciano was the kind of sandwich I came here for, and don't get me wrong, it is deliciously cheesy and will make your hands messy. But the Sophia is the kind of sandwich I'll be craving. My only regret was not taking a sandwich to-go for later. Open a location closer to Houston, please. :)

They are a pepsi place (booooooo!), and there's no diet pepsi (pepsi zero is their only zero calorie soda option). If you drink Diet Coke (most popular diet drink in USA), then you don't want diet pepsi, but you'll probably drink it if you have to; however, you're very likely to hate pepsi zero (and Coke Zero, too), so no soda for you here anymore! A full Coke setup that also includes Dr Pepper AND Diet Dr Pepper is ideal. I realize a pepsi fountain is more profitable because of distributor incentives, but pepsi is favored by almost nobody and hated by many...so is it really worth it? Tony's is so great that pepsi just does not fit in. Hopefully they don't deteriorate further and change to Wonderbread for all of their sandwiches. Bottom line: at the very least, please add diet pepsi to your soda machine if that brand remains in place.

Now, I thought I could just stop by and grab my order in about five minutes... that was not the case. It took well over 30 minutes. However, I do want to recognize the customer service, especially the gentleman in the red shirt who was running the cash wrap. He was very attentive and made sure orders were moving and getting out to customers. When I followed up on my order (about 20+ minutes in), he let me know there were about 9-10 subs ahead of mine due to a lot of online orders. Once I got my food, I thanked him and let him know next time I'll definitely be ordering online. If you're planning to grab lunch and not dine in, I highly recommend ordering ahead to save time. Now, the food... the sub was 10/10 amazing. I got the Jamaican Red Buffalo Chicken. Highly recommend. The only thing I want to point out is there was a guy working with bell peppers who came to the front line and started handling food for customers. He had on gloves and headphones, but when a customer asked him a question, he used his gloved hand to move his headphones, then went right back to handling food without changing gloves. Other than that, I'll definitely be back!!!!

This is the one and only location here and a great stop for all kinds of sandwiches. Their menu includes innovative offerings and iconic flavors, essentially the best of both worlds. If you're craving a classic or simple sandwich, you can get that. However, if you're looking for something special or out of this world, you can also get it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips). The service is typically quick, efficient, and friendly. There are more than a handful of tables inside and some out on the patio.
