I ordered the Tejano Cesar Zepplin and added double chicken, pickled onions and halved tomatoes with a side of tomato, basil soup and it was all so good. I've never had a zeppelin until before now and it's the best way to describe it is that it's the cross between a sandwich and a salad. What it is exactly is a loaf of bread with the inside taken out so that it's like more of a shell and then it is a salad bowl like mixture stuffed in there. I feel like it's the perfect lunch because It's super filling, but also very light, and healthy! What more can you ask for. Easy parking. Easy order. Quick service! I really do find them delicious, this concept of a salad inside a crispy bread. They warm the bread, remove the inside and leaves the crispy outside to fill in with salad. Their salad recipes are good, especially the southwest one with avocados and black beans. My friend and I really enjoyed their salad stuffed bread aka their zeppelin. Salads are boring to eat but I can eat salad all day if it's wrapped in a carb. They hallow out the bread so you only have the crunchy exterior. The bread isn't toasted which I'm okay with. My sister and I came here for lunch on a Thursday and there were a few people here, but it wasn't overly full. Online ordering: pretty straightforward, you get a $5 coupon for the first time online app order (you need to create an account though). I've tried the Southwest, Lone Star, and Washington State all in Zeppelins. I'd go for the Southwest and Lone Star again, personally found the Washington State too fruity. Came across bread Zeppelin on social media and wanted to try it for myself. Inside the store there is a bunch of seating options with a drink station, and the salad bar. If you don't want to wait in line there is two order kiosk that you can place your orders at and there is also a to go station next to it to pick up your orders. I decided to try a build your own Zepplin this time around and got cucumbers, pickled onions, corn, Arcadian mix lettuce, and chicken as my protein. I didn't realize that the protein was an extra charge so I feel like the better option is to go with a preset salad because with the build your own, it only comes with four toppings unless you do not want a protein of course. When choosing your salad dressing you are allowed to sample the different flavors. I sampled the Tejano Caesar dressing and they even gave me some of the bread scraps to dip it with which I thought was very unique and cool. I was very curious as to what they use the bread scraps for and they told me that they actually use it for their house made croutons and bread pudding, which is very resourceful. My friend went with the Metropolitan club salad and it was delicious. The salad itself was light, paired with the satisfying crust of the baguette. The interior of this one is spacious, nice and bright, but I was a little confused by the computers at the front that you could apparently order from. Do I order here, or with a warm body? My husband decided to go to the counter and bypass the computer to order. I ordered the Southwest, I think. The food came out fast and it was so delish! I love that the meat and veggies are inside the bread, it makes it so much easier to eat. Salad is delicious and fresh with some fun and different ingredients. However, it is crazy expensive. (20$ salad not including the baguette) Understandable given the quality of the food. Now why the two stars? Let me explain. I did a build your own salad with all the veggies and grilled chicken. It's not like salata where it's unlimited veggie options. After a while they start charging for extra toppings (like certain veggies that probs would be included at salata). They mix your salad in a metal bowl and then attempt to fill it in a plastic bowl once it's mixed. The plastic bowl is much smaller than the metal bowl. Obviously it's not all going to fit. Get this...they THROW AWAY THE REST. If it doesn't fit in the plastic bowl (which it doesn't take Einstein to realize it won't) it's thrown away!! And then they still charge you for the extra ingredients that were thrown away!! My heart sunk when they were like oh ya this all didn't fit (yall it's a lot)...we just throw it away. So you charged me for extra things and then didn't even give me all of it?! Also I was dining in. Why not let me eat out of the metal bowl?! I really loved this place the first time I came. I recently discovered Bread Zepplin. I used to frequent Frankie Mandola's on Kirby back in the day. My go-to was the Mandola's Cobb Salad. I have learned to recreate it in my custom Zepplin even though I no longer eat meat, I get extra boiled egg. The champagne vinaigrette is so close to the Mandola's that I'm officially addicted to this salad in a Zepplin with boiled eggs, Bleu Cheese and red onion. I didn't know what to order the first time I went. The staff were very patient with me as I learned the gazillion optional ingredients and what to order. I am hooked and get a Zepplin every chance I get. They also reuse the inside of the bread "vessel" to make homemade croutons and bread pudding! It's a quaint sized establishment that always seems to have a steady stream of customers. Plenty of table options. We ordered our food at the self-service kiosks which were easy to use. My friend got the Washington State & I got the Southwest with chicken & avocado ranch dressing. We both really thought the flavor was refreshing like a salad and paired so well with the toasted baguette without feeling so carb heavy. We each ate the entire zeppelin. A salad in a sandwich?? Umm yes, sign me up! I discovered this place as I was going to a spin class at the cycling studio next door. I was already planning my post workout meal at Jimmy John's but I saw the "Bread" Zeppelin sign next door and immediately had to Yelp it and subsequently try it out. I chose one of the featured salads in a Zeppelin (which is bread hollowed out). The server was informative and made it fresh and quickly. I took my order to go and was surprisingly happy to see my salad-sandwich was still crisp and delightful to eat when I got home. The salad was fresh and and even more delicious in the Zepp (hollowed out bread). I was completely stuffed after this meal. Overall, the salad itself was just ok- not as great as Sweetgreen or Local Foods. But maybe I just need to come back and try out the other salads on the menu. I also tried their chicken tortilla soup here and it was disappointing- very watery with minimal flavor.
