The inside is kind of like smoothie place meets cafe vibe. I got the garlic mushrooms and oh my goodness. I couldn't believe how flavorful they were. They had this lovely addicting crunch in the center. Extremely filling. They also provided complimentary popcorn. To drink I got the amber aid. I initially chose Nokturne for a quiet place to work based on reviews I'd seen, I was more than satisfied when it hit all the notes for me! Food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect, and the service was excellent! The cafe has two main seating areas. One is quiet, beautiful, and slightly dim for a calm focused mood. The other is a brighter seating area if you want natural light. I chose the dimmer side and I was able to get a lot of work done here. As a vegan, there are plenty of options that range from nachos to steamed buns to cheesecake. I also tried something from their juice bar menu: DELICIOUS!! My server's name was Kat, I told her it was my first time here and she helped me choose the best options for me based on my personal tastes and her recommendations. This place is great for a particular experience. It is a restaurant I am so grateful to have in clear lake. As a vegan, you would find plenty of healthy and "nasty" (Aka unhealthy) options which is nice. The juice is delicious. I like that they offer free popcorn. I thought the service was great on a week night but noticed when they got busy it was just one person working all the tables. It's more of a relaxed environment. When I entered into the restaurant it had him lighting, plenty of tables for sitting and the person behind the counter was attentive. He had my order ready as soon as I walked in. I ordered my meal on Yelp and received a call that they were out of lava cake, I would suggest to call and make sure they have it before ordering on Yelp. I was happy driving back home because the food smelled amazing in the bag. Upon removing the items, I liked how the containers could be broken down into plates by using the flaps on the side. The food: The edamame was pretty bland, reminded me of the one from Walmart that you can heat in the microwave. You could see the salt on it but it did not improve the taste at all. The udon noodles looked amazing but with taste they were bland. I was hoping to have a great sauce on everything but that was not the case. The broccoli was fresh and crunchy as well as the snap peas. I would probably not recommend to order these items unless you can request a sauce for the noodles on the side. read more

NOKturne is a rare find in the Clear Lake area with late night hours, delicious fresh juices, and a unique selection of entrees (including tons of vegetarian options). The seating areas are nice and have a relaxing late-night vibe. The only reason I hesitate to give five stars is because the service is often very slow and inattentive. I've never had an employee be rude, but no one ever checks on you or brings you water, and it can be difficult to get a hold of your server even though it's never been crowded when I've gone. That being said, I certainly hope NOKturne sticks around! Their crispy potato flautas are especially wonderful. read more

Finally got to try Nokturne. My vegetarian niece and my sister enjoyed it immensely. We tried the Greek appetizer plate and it had the best falafel ever! I had an onion smash burger which was delightful. Sister really enjoyed the potato flautas and sautéed mushrooms. We tried one juice and two teas, which were great as well. If I could assign it a color it would be beige. I had the gyro (hero), which I was rudely corrected on the pronunciation by the waitress, just say ok and take my order. I can call it what i want. It was bland, very little of any Tzatziki sauce, giant leafs of lettuce (shredded would have been better), big chunks of tomato rather than slices, and the weirdest gyro meat I've seen or tasted. It was like a weird meat loaf that they cut into long spam like slices. No bueno! The highlight the lunch date with my wife was her potato flautas. They were cooked perfectly and served with fresh avocado slices and nice tamatillo salsa. I didn't correct her and tell her it's not Potato flautas it's flautas de papa. The restaurant itself is boring, you feel like you can't even talk because it's like a library in there. They seemed to have a steady flow of to go clients picking up their orders. So, I guess they're doing ok. I can't say I won't go back, the flautas were good and very fresh. Ps, the comp popcorn was stale and it's a really bad way to start a meal. Update from review below- As of 12/22/21 when this accident happened 11/21- I am still in excruciating pain everyday and have a hard time wearing pants- I still have marks and it still burns. .... Having second degree burns on your entire leg and other leg is an unbelievable pain. I was told I may have scars now. The pain is a stabbing pain when I walk. It has affected my livelihood now and how I work on my job now. I received an email for offering a $50.00 credit. Now my medical bills are close to $3,000 from the er......the executive chef that I was emailing about my concern became very nasty. I was accused of possibly making up my injury. It just shows you how ugly an establishment can be in defending themselves rather taking ownership. Where to begin- I was severely burned from this establishment with hot chocolate. I was given an incorrect card board ring size for my cup and it slipped out of my hand and I received second degree burns from the scalding hot chocolate where I had to go to the ER. This is not the first time that I have been to there to receive scalding hot chocolate.... I would usually put the cup in a freezer for about 15 minutes until I could drink it. No safety measures were taking place. I was not given a cardboard container to hold two drinks either. When I called the establishment to reach management a cashier named Emma was very rude to me and hung up on me. So I sent an email to management. At first I received a response from the executive chef about giving me a credit for the drinks. I was told I needed to contact the manufacturer for the cups and that the reason why they need drinks hot is for cross contamination for health codes etc... which I still feel this establishment had it extremely too hot and refused to take responsibility for. This spill had happened 15 minutes after purchase by the way and I had jeans on when it spilled and burned right through my jeans.... I feel this establishment did not take responsibility and pointed fingers the other way and stopped responding to my email. I received no phone call or no real concern after that. I was trying to give this establishment a chance to make it right. Please think twice before you buy a hot drink there and take extra safety precautions. Such a shame that businesses can think this is ok and turn the other way. read more

We started out ordering the hot Golden Milk which is turmeric spiced almond milk, with a hint of ginger, that alone was worth the visit. We had been walking all day and we were hungry and wanted to try 4 dishes even if we could not eat them all. The steamed buns and veggie sliders were our two favorite dishes. The veggie sliders had a bit of spiciness and the flavor was amazing - it's hard to believe they are vegan but they are. The steamed buns are handmade and the sauce thar have to dip them in us very flavorful. Our other two picks were Potato Flautas and Umami Udon which were absolutely great too and I would order them again!
