Stopped by with a friend for lunch today and I must say that I cannot believe I didn't know about this wonderful place. We originally stopped for our boba fix because I love a good boba drink and honestly they didn't disappoint. I started off with Princess Peach Lemonade with Kiwi boba and it was a perfect blend of sweet and tart. It was definitely refreshing and satisfying. We were there for a while and so we got hungry and ordered food. I ordered the vermicelli pork bowl and it was the right portion of veggies, noodles and meat. I absolutely loved it and can see myself coming back. I finished off with the Sunset lemonade which was strawberry flavored with hibiscus and it was also refreshing and the hibiscus wasn't overwhelming which was perfect to me. The vibe was great, and the decor was really nice, plenty of seating and perfect for small or large groups. The service was also very nice, staff was attractive and welcoming. Working in the area today and looking for a quick lunch. Found this place in a local plaza and found it to be a great surprise. Sparkling clean and with Instagram worthy interior, this is a great place to relax though the music selection might benefit from a less profanity laced playlist. This could explain the lack of a crowd at noon. The food is fresh. Comes out quickly and is of large quantity and quality ingredients. Well I stumble upon this place while I was out and about in Pasadena. Thank you to the other on yelp for giving this place a 4.5 stars bc that's what made me want to try it out. We ordered passionfruit green tea and Vietnamese coffee. That Vietnamese coffee is just as strong as any other Vietnamese coffee out there. I really enjoyed it. And it kept me up til 3:30am! The banh mi had good flavor. We ordered the bbq pork banh mi. They do not toast their bread here which I prefer. But my hubby likes it how they prepared it. I had the bbq pork rice place. The flavors were there. It was just a bit on the light/ bland side. The fish sauce is also watered down. I think they need to turn up the seasoning from a 3 to a 6. Otherwise it's not bad for Pasadena but I don't think it's 4.5 stars either due to lack of flavor in the meat and fish sauce. read more

I came back to Sweet Lemon recently. A LOT has changed. First, Sweet Lemon is now called Sweet Lemon- Pho Kitchen. Don't worry they still make milk tea and snacks. They upgraded their decor, it's chic and modern. Aside from adding Pho, the menu is still the same. They no longer give out punch cards, so if you still have yours, toss them. They're useless now. There are more board games, the TV sets are up to date, and the staff even added a claw machine! The bathrooms need major renovations, though. Even though Sweet Lemon's menu hasn't changed much, I wouldn't say the same thing for the quality of their food. The food and drinks are even better than before! They had the BEST watermelon lemonade I've ever had. The staff are still wonderful and kind, and the prices are decent. I have to come back here again. read more

Honestly, I did not expect much from a random boba place here in pasadena. At first, their boba drinks were really good. They make it real fast and you can adjust your sweetness level and ice level. I had to grab a quick dinner before driving out of town so i ordered a small combination pho. I did not expect it to be so good. At first I noticed there wasn't enough broth but later I realized it was because they put so much meat and noodles into the bowl! The inside is still the same. It's nice and kinda homey. The service was great. They were pretty quick with bringing the food. What was not so great is the quality of the food. I've eaten here before. I've ordered take out and drinks and told all my coworkers how great the food is. Today I was very disappointed. I ordered a banh mi ga and the bread was so hard that I could knock on it and it sounded like wood. When I brought this to the attention of the employees they said the place is under new management and they are getting their bread from a different supplier. Sweet Lemon is hands down the best tapioca drink spot in Pasadena! It can even compete with other tap shops in Houston. Why did I not come here sooner? You can tell they use good quality tea, and I like that you can customize your drink however you like it. I always opt for less ice and 50% sweet on any drink that I order. Passion fruit green tea is usually my go to order, but they have a lot of options here so don't be afraid to try something new. We did appreciate how clean the store was. With covid and all, we felt comfortable here. Everyone was wearing masks, and the store is very spacious for proper social distancing. Just be sure to use their different walls and signs for photo ops and social media needs. We will definitely be back again soon whenever we're in the area. Ordered the sunrise lemonade w/ crystal boba. We really enjoyed this place! We came here at around 10:30 on a Saturday & were thankfully the only ones here (wanted to take cute photos!). They had 3-4 really cute photo ops on each wall (neon sign, grass wall couch, swinging chair, etc.) Cashiers are nice & took their time making suggestions for what we should order. There were 2 of them in the back and were super efficient. Boba was ready within 5 minutes. Crystal boba almost tastes like a mix of lychee & gelatin, which we enjoyed. The whole place is well lit, clean, and friendly. This place is a bit out of our way but we honestly really liked the drink and the atmosphere. Finally a real tapioca spot in Pasadena! My girlfriend and I have visited three days in a row and each time we've enjoyed our visit. The staff is nice and drinks are good. I've tried the taro smoothie, taro coconut milk tea, peach melon green tea, and passion fruit tea and all were delicious. I love that they put real passion fruit seeds in the passion fruit tea. It was also buy two get one free large drink! So I ended up getting the Taro milk tea, the green Thai tea and the Princess peach (which was a recommendation from one of the workers). OMG I loveeee their green thai tea. One of the best green thai teas I've ever had. I would highly recommend this. The Taro milk tea is also just as good. It wasn't powdery at all. When I walked in it became clear that they weren't open yet, it was full of staff but I was the only customer. Everyone was super cool and they offered to make me a drink even thou they weren't officially open. I was hoping for a Sweet Lemon Smoothie, maybe a signature drink for their namesake...no such luck. I suggested it to the manager, maybe they will take my suggestion and name it after me lol. I went with a large Taro Smoothie. It was fantastic. Their bathroom was out on Easter Sunday. I really needed to use one so I didn't exactly enjoy my meal and drinks as much. Definitely should've been a priority to get fixed. I don't like banh mi sandwiches but theirs was really good. The bread was perfectly toasty without being too dry. The pork, vegetables and butter were tasty. The size was just right. The egg rolls were way too small to be charged $1 for each. It was very good and so was the sauce. The pouch was the same price as the regular size cups for $3.75. I was so happy to try it. Famous mermaid lemonade that everyone raved about: it was alright too. Pretty much a super sweet grape like flavor drink that has a hint of sourness. Definitely order a 16oz cause its one of those drinks where its good but will get you feeling guilty because it is too sweet. We ordered the chicken popcorn, banh mi thit nuong, and spring rolls with shrimp and pork. Popcorn chicken: Salty, and flavor wasn't hitting it. So far popcorn chicken in this side of town isn't the same as bellaire china town. We really didn't finish this one though. Banh mi thit nuong: my wife didn't finish the other half she said the meat was salty. Spring rolls: Good. can't go wrong with fresh spring rolls. They did well with it. I mean the pork is Vietnamese pork patty (cha),but hell majority of restaurants use this method. Their peanut sauce was good too. Sweet Lemon Tapioca & Snacks is this little gem hidden in a small strip-mall off Spencer Hwy across the street from Kroger's Plaza. First off the atmosphere is like a well-needed sigh of relief. The drink list is not complicated and if you can't decide which drink to get the staff is amazingly knowledgeable and helpful. The food is just as tasty. Popped in during the grand opening weekend to try it out. We opted to do a couple popcorn chicken combos with our drinks. They unfortunately ran out of honey boba and don't offer the regular boba. I personally had the sunset lemonade w/aloe vera. It's a raspberry lemonade while the mermaid one is a blueberry lemonade. I also enjoyed my friends strawberry green tea w/strawberry popping boba. I'll have to get that next time. As for the popcorn chicken, it had a slightly thicker batter than normal but it was still highly addictive and good. The wait time for drinks was pretty long but expected since they just opened. Overall, the place had a good crowd considering they just opened. This was a really neat little place. I liked how it was decorated inside. I had never been so I wasn't sure what to order. They had juices, teas, coffees and smoothies. I think they serve food as well although nobody was eating when I was there. I decided to order a Vietnamese coffee. The person who took my order stated it was strong coffee with condensed milk. I thought that sounded interesting. And it was but it was way too sweet for me. I couldn't even finish half of it. So that was a waste of $7 ($5 coffee + $2 tip). Maybe next time I go, I'll order a juice or tea. They have a large variety of flavors. I'm moving out of Pasadena soon so I'm not sure I'll have another chance to go before then.
