This place was hard to find. The Maps app on my phone said it was on the east side of I-45. Google told me it was west side of I-45, but like, way west, past an elementary school. We finally found One Tea, across from a Starbucks, in a new small complex just west of I-45. Trying out new bubble tea places is something that I have mixed feelings about, because I'm always excited to support small businesses that introduce new tastes and flavors to this area; however, I often find bubble tea places disappointing when they don't compare to a chain like Kung Fu Tea or Gong Cha (my favorite). To gauge where these new bubble tea places stand against those chains, I always just order a milk tea with tapioca. It's the most basic drink at a bubble tea shop, so it's easier to compare the different places. When I took my first sip of One Tea's milk tea, I could taste and feel the powder. Ugh. It's like drinking crushed pills. The tapioca is on the firm side, a bit chewy, and, unfortunately, flavorless. My husband had the Thai tea, and that tasted better. Afterwards, I could feel the tapioca sitting in my stomach; too heavy. The interior is cute, clean, modern. It's kind of a smorgasbord of Asian cultures. The TV was playing a Korean cooking show. There's a Lucky cat figurine on the counter. They have Taiwanese popcorn chicken, Vietnamese egg rolls, Korean corn dogs, and even elote on the food menu. Service was quick. Clearly, it's a new business so the cashiers needed a little bit of help from the manager/owner. Not a big deal. They do have a "no ice" option, but they fill the drinks up to a line in the cup (not to the top like at Gong Cha). Their prices are high. We live in League City, so it's nice to know that there's a bubble tea option going south on I-45, but really, I don't see us coming back here again. It would take just as long to drive to Gong Cha next to Baybrook Mall, and One Tea isn't spectacular by any means, so... mixed feelings.

This place has good drinks, snacks, and customer service. Glad to have a good boba spot nearby.
