They proudly advertise having "the best bread in the business" and I must say, their breads are indeed the best in a franchise setting. I especially love their Signature Garlic Herb bread. It's toasted perfectly where the outside has a slight crisp around the edges and the inside is soft and fluffy. It's really GOOD bread. I definitely prefer it over the likes of something like Subway, Jersey Mike's, etc. It's nice that they offer different sizes of sandwiches. There's the Nug (4"), Pinner (8"), and the largest size is the Blunt (12"). I ordered the Nug. It's just the right size to satisfy my appetite without leaving me feeling heavy afterward. I also love and truly appreciate the diverse vegetarian options on the menu. They're not just the basic boring raw veggies combinations either. It's super casual and laid back inside. Love their fun decorations. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a bar in the back with a large TV, allowing you to enjoy sports while sipping on a cold beer or cocktail. Glad they are in the area. For sure I will be a regular here. Just thinking about their bread makes me hungry. read more

Placed my order online and was able to walk in, grab it and walk out. Although the restaurant was empty when I walked in, I was still greeted and given full customer service while picking up my order. I must say, although the customer service was great, the sub didn't really taste like anything. It was flavorless. This is the second time it's happened. But it's all good. Wow! Never heard of (or tried) this place before but am so glad I opted for somewhere new! These toasted subs are insanely good! Why 5 stars? Because this is probably the best sandwich chain out there. --- --- --- Other sandwich places - take note: be more like Cheba Hut. We have been to the Houston locations multiple times, but we were driving back home down I-10 E and decided to change our lunch plans when we saw that there was a Cheba Hut in Katy. There are like 25 different things I want to order every time we visit one of these, so I always try to order something different. This time, I went with the KGB because I love horseradish, and it lived up to what I was hoping it would be. But I was also really tempted by the acapulco gold, because I love BBQ chicken, so I got the best of both worlds and ordered that for my son so that I could sneak a couple bites. And I actually think it was even better than mine! Next time, that's what I'll be going with. Bonus: the chip selection consists of Zapp's Voodoo, which is always a key to my heart. The world would be a better place with more Cheba Hut's. read more

We love coming here. The consistency in food quality is unmatched. When I order my favorite sub (Apollo 13), it tastes the exact same every time we stop. The bread is the perfect toast level, and the favor pairings are awesome (with AND without having the munchies). It's a small little joint (haha!) and the artwork inside is super fun. I find new stuff to laugh at each time we stop. Service is always top notch. It's a "bus your own" type of place, but staff routinely come through and pick up items that are finished. We love the theme, and if you're anti-Mary Jane, don't stop here and don't leave a bad review just because. Be a curmudgeon elsewhere. read more

What an interesting restaurant and a pleasure to have have experience of grabbing a quick sandwich specifically a French dip which was very very good and although I did not stop to have alcohol, they have both beer and liquor from what I can see. The service was incredibly efficient and the ambience is simply wonderful light cheery a real pleasure to visit either to get a to go lunch or dinner or to sit and enjoy the experience. Yum! I rarely hand out 5 stars, but this sandwich was absolutely delicious--I'm already craving another. The staff was so friendly and patient, which I appreciated since it was our first visit and the menu can feel a little overwhelming. I really enjoyed this restaurant. I got the Kali Mist 8-inch sub on garlic herb bread, and it was sooooo good and fresh! The restaurant alone was really nice and clean. They had good music and Tvs to enjoy the game; the whole atmosphere was a vibe. They had great customer service as well!! The only con was the koolaid. I tried all 3 flavors and it tasted like water. Finally tried Cheba Hut today! The Kali Mist was fantastic! Turkey, Bacon, Chipotle Mayo, Jalapeno, Avo, Pepper Jack, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Pickle and their own seasoning mix! Very fresh! You could taste each ingredient! Not overly dressed and held up well since it was to go! The place itself is pretty cool! Full bar set up with several TVs. We've had this twice since we moved to Fulshear. While most of the reviews talk about the subs, I'm going to start with a more unassuming item, the French Onion Soup. I crave this soup a lot, and I found Cheba Hut initially for a Grub Hub search for French Onion. Wow! The soup is over the top good! I love it, and only wish there was an option for a bigger bowl! As far as the subs go, they are stellar as well. They blow away every other sandwich I've ever had. I love the Kali Mist the best, and the Kool-Aid is awesome. The flair of the restaurant is so dope, and the people working there are awesome. I added this to my Yelp Best of Fulshear Collection. Thanks for being awesome. read more

We've driven by this place so many times and glad we finally went in! I got the 5-0 and my boyfriend got the Ak47 and both were delicious! The au ju sauce was amazing! . They also had kool aid which we hadn't had in forever and they also had another organic juice that was fire! The employees were super friendly and helped guide us through their menu! Highly suggest their garlic bread for the sandwiches! They also had a bar with really good options and a pretty sweet happy hour. We have been missing a really good "toasted sandwich" place around here for years! (Sorry Subway) This place has a very large selection of toasted subs AND you can also build your own: poultry, beef, Italian meats, tuna, bacon, and vegetarian options. All three bread options are delicious (yes, I had one of each). They also have appetizer/side options, a FULL bar, and some baked treats! The staff were so patient and friendly, explaining all the different popular subs and the owner was attentive the whole time. We will be frequent flyers here for sure. read more

No specials on the recent opening. The prices are a little high for what you get. The service is similar to what you would expect from a Firehouse location. Sadly they have a "toasted" sub. It's never been a good idea in my option to toast a sub. Toast the bread sure, maybe that will work. This a "cold cut" sandwich. IMO heating a sandwich like this makes it not as good. The overall experience is lackluster. I don't see this place lasting too long. Although it is by a school.... I don't have high hopes. read more

I ordered the Greek sandwich and it had great flavor! I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken, it tasted like the reheated chicken from subway. I was worried that the sandwich would be soggy by the time I made it home but nope, still tasted fresh ~30 minutes later. My main issue is with the unfriendly cashiers. My husband and I tried Cheba to go for lunch and overall, we thought the sandwiches were good but not great. My husband got the spicy club and said it was good. I got the teriyaki chicken sandwich and thought it was okay. We weren't too impressed and thought for the price, they could've been better. I first tried the Houston location and fell in love with this chain. Upon hearing that one was coming to Katy I was HYPED. I came twice to the Katy location. I felt the service and energy was the only thing lacking. The 2 times I came get food, I never got greeted or any type hospitality the whole time. The food is good but everytime I went to the Houston location they greeted me and gave me great vibes. Absolutely the worst experience ever. I would gladly drive all the way to the heights/Washington location for better service. Came in ordered my food and after I realized 25 minutes has passed I was over waiting. Walked up to where the sandwiches get pushed out from and the guy standing there asked me if I was waiting on my order [CLEARLY. I am the only person in this place at this time.] after saying yes he grabbed sauce for my garlic bread and gave it to me. My order has been done for a while cause my sandwich was cold by the time I opened it at the table. Seems like a hangout place for all the workers here because they truly don't care about customer service... or maybe I just walked into a bad day or their hangout time. But never again... Came to visit this place after it being sent to us by a friend. Service was great, the girl at the front was nice and made it easy to order. Got my sandwich, the second one on the meat menu (Pokololo?) which was good. However, I am not happy with the pickle that I got on my sandwich. It was smaller than my pinky! If you are going to have pickles in a sandwich, I'd expect an actual large enough size/normal size pickle. If I would have known how ridiculously small it was I would have ordered extra or something else. The pineapple was there but wish there was a little more added, just to taste it with all the flavors not just at one part of the sandwich. Overall it was good, not sure if I'd come back. Price was 10.83 for my sandwich alone with a pocket pickle and little bit of pineapple. Space was cool though, loved the art! read more

I often frequent Maple Street Biscuit Company, and happened to notice Cheba Hut. I looked it up online saw how good the sandwiches looked, and noted that I had to give it a try. I'm so disappointed that I did, these sandwiches aren't cheap and what I received today was subpar. I've had a better sandwich at subway for half the price. I honestly wish I would have just gone to Potbelly's. I ordered the White Widow Pinner. The chicken was so dry and flavorless. I asked them to add jalepeno (only had two on the sandwich) and Giardiniera (Maybe a teaspoon was added). I only ate the sandwich because I had nothing else prepared, otherwise I would have chucked it. Based on my experience I'm confused as to why the reviews are so good. read more

Made the drive because I was craving a toasted sandwich. The girl at the front directed me to order at the bar which I thought was weird and didn't give me an explanation as to why. Girl at the bar was very friendly and I was pleased with her recommendations. The sandwich was good overall and I enjoyed the garlic bread but I did notice the avocado was partially brown. The music was way too loud for my taste and overall not an ambiance that would make me want to dine in and eat. I actually ended up taking the rest to go so I could make some work calls without all the background music.
