We chose Federal for one of our HRW options for brunch. It happens to be right next door to Mia's table where we ate a few weeks ago. We didn't need reservations and were able to pull up and be seated right away. Gabriel was our server and he did a great job. I ordered the pancakes and the Bacon egg and cheese omelette made with 4 eggs. My wife had the Philly cheese sandwich. The portions are large and I had to bring most of the pancakes home. The omelette was fluffy and delicious. We had lemonade and Arnold Palmer to drink. The service was excellent and it's an excellent place to check out their menu during the HRW. We may visit in the future for their lunch and dinner menus.

Chill environment to watch Sunday football with great specials midday... the bartender was very attentive and informative. And it had quality food above the standard bar food. No complaints

Late Post HRW: Dined at this restaurant for date night and to try more menu items. It was a Sunday night so it wasn't crowded which had me nervous at first due to lack of customers. For dinner I tried meatloaf which normally I don't eat that out as I'm very picky and love my Aunt's 4 protein meatloaf and is the best I've had. I must say their meatloaf was really good and had homemade flavors, really moist and garlicky potatoes with gravy made all the difference. My husband tried the braised short rib and he enjoyed it as well very juicy full of flavor. Nice portions for the price. The appetizers tuna poke and bang bang shrimp was amazing. Desserts weee just okay but overall good experience. I will definitely be back to try their Social Hour as they have a nice drink menu with variety of food choices. Be nice for light meal after work. Give it a try and support you won't b disappointed!

We recently moved to Katy and have been trying out all the restaurants in the area. Came here at 2pm on a Tuesday because we're off all week for the holiday. When I tell you that it was one of the best meals I have EVER had, I'm not even being dramatic. We started off with the Oysters Rockefeller and the Kung Pao Calamari. My girlfriend is from the East Coast and is very picky about seafood. We absolutely loved both of the apps! The margaritas are strong and refreshing. They're actually better than the margaritas you get next door at Lupe Tortilla. I got the Truffle Stuffed Chicken as my entree and was literally speechless. It was absolutely unbelievable! My girlfriend got the ribeye and enjoyed it as well. An absolute 10/10. Now that my mouth knows what this place tastes like, I know we'll be back all the time!

Wick and dirty picture of the main menu. It is not complete by any means..

I have been well overdue in my assessment of this restaurant. I'd heard about it for years, but had never gone and I will tell you if you have not gone. You will have missed a great restaurant experience. As I normally do, I sat at the bar Drinks are phenomenal, and the bartenders are extremely conversant and very knowledgeable. If you don't want the romance of a table as a couple I would highly suggest the setting the bartenders are on service and as I say, they are quite involved with their clients. I had only appetizers and drinks. I've already alpine the drinks are excellent. I had an old-fashioned. The fruit was mold and I ask for a rye bourbon because I like the offset to the typical simple syrup of the drink and sure enough I do not recollect which Rye whiskey I had but they have an extensive collection. I don't recollect specifically the appetizer I had and I apologize for that. Oh no, I do remember it was muscles and it was very very well done not overcooked at all, and it was in a delightful sauce. In my opinion, you should not miss this restaurant. It is a great dining experience. Good food, wonderful drinks and at least at the bar outstanding service.

This restaurant was the top of our list for my annual "winter break date" with my college-age nephew. So glad I made a reservation -- especially on a busy Friday night. We were seated immediately in a nice booth near the Christmas tree. Our waiter provided just the right amount of attention. Diners can be comfortable in jeans and boots or dressed up for an evening out. If you enjoy Bourbon or Whiskey, they have some interesting cocktails on their menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned. We both agreed our favorite item was the Smoked Pork Belly appetizer. I've never seen a waiter, so excited to present a dish! My nephew ordered the full portion of the Meatloaf entrée. And he had an entire piece to bring home. I ate every bite of thr truffle mac & cheese, and sautéed spinach that was served along side an 8 oz Filet. We did not have room for dessert.

Came for drinks and appetizers. Drinks were DELICIOUS, the apps were mid. The calamari was fresh but submerged in a sweet and sour sauce , in my opinion it's too much sauce and the sweetness takes away from the calamari. The spinach dip was totally bland. Would come back just for drinks . The old fashioned was superb and so was the happily ever after.

Came here for lunch with some friends for Houston restaurant week and it was pretty good! As our first course we got the salmon poke and the kung pao shrimp tacos. For our main dish we got the freedom burger and the blackened ahi tuna, everything was very good and I wouldn't change anything about it! The restaurant itself was very nice and elegant and our service was great, our server was very observant and helped us with the questions we had and our waters were never empty! They also offer bottomless mimosas! Overall, I think this is a great place if you're looking for somewhere to get lunch/brunch with your friends! :)

Ok I've driven by this place dozens of times threatening to drop in for dinner but was hesitant because of the rating. Ok the day finally came and I now regret passing this place up so many times. What's not to love? The food, drinks and atmosphere is perfect for casual dining. The environment is slightly upscale casual with a huge whisky bar centrally located. Yes, this my first visit, but there were no misses for me. I had a mezcal old fashioned that was perfectly balanced with tequila and bitters. My meal was a half portion of meatloaf with Brussel sprouts instead of the mashed potatoes. This was more than enough food for dinner. The sprouts were great without being sweet. Perhaps this experience was an anomaly but it far exceeded my expectations. Great job!

The ambiance of this establishment is spot on. Elegant but casual, sophisticated but informal. Definitely has a vibe. The servers were friendly and attentive. I ordered the federal burger with cheese and bacon.i didn't want American cheese but didn't want to send the burger back.. the burger was really good despite it having American cheese. The burger was very juicy and I'd order it again. The fries were ok. Nothing to write home to mom about.

Not sure why this place doesn't have a higher avg rating! Popped in on a Sunday evening for the 1st time and now I just came back 2 weeks later. I've passed this place tons of times somehow I thought it would be food with minimal flavor. I was wrong! The food is quite tasty! The place has a bistro type vibe... lots of high top tables in addition to regular tables, plus open kitchen & multiple TVs. Also has 2 separate eating areas off the main dining area for groups. Enjoyed the smoked old fashion which they bring to your table in a glass smoker. Here's the food I've tried on my 2 visits: Crab Cake - full of crab, minimal breadiness, nice cripiness on outside, lots of crab meat inside, nice size for $25 price point. 2nd visit got the roasted chicken which was a thigh, leg & breast. The chicken was flavorful even though I didn't get the creamy sauce that comes with it. Also, I was pleasantly surprised the breast was tender not dry at all. First visit food didn't take long. This 2nd time, the chicken took almost 30 min to arrive. The place didn't seem that crowded so not sure what happened. I asked the server was it because of the chicken but he didn't really have an answer as to why so long. I will return. I like the food & the vibe. I also want to figure out which service experience is more typical.

The pancake stack for HRW was four pancakes deep meaning enough for leftovers

Well for $25 I don't know but for a donation for HRW it was more doable. Cheeseburger egg rolls were interesting. Really just ground beef in a fried wonton wrapper so I mean it was good for what it was. The free biscuits with the butter spread and this pepper jam in the beginning were delicious. The pancake HRW meal came with four pancakes and I had to take three home. The potatoes were phenomenal honestly because they had pickled onions and jalapeños. My toddler got a kids meal and the grilled cheese was on this super thick bread but not grilled well. How do I know? He asked me for the cheese and I was able to take the slice out. Fail. Fries were good. Nice big place with a variety of folk from the west parts of Houston if you know what I mean as in we didn't fit in at all. Servers were very nice and so was the staff.

This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Overall, this was a really great dining experience and I'm so glad that bad traffic gave me the excuse to come here. Will definitely plan a return visit!!

They're located in a shopping center with several other businesses, including a cat vet right next door. While it was busy, I didn't have trouble finding a parking spot. Ambiance (4/5): This is part of where By Popular Demand (BPD) shines. The interior is trendy, with both tabletop seating and more comfortable chairs and sofas. There's a small patio in the front and a larger one on the side. There aren't a ton of seats inside, so think of it as a smaller, more intimate bar. Service (3.5/5): A little slow to start out with as it took our waitress a good while to come and take our order (we were sitting on the front patio). She did apologize for the delay, and she was friendly from there on out, so things improved throughout our evening there. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so I was on a liquid diet. They have 10-12 craft cocktails, plus everything else you would expect at a bar. I went with That Cucumber Drink. I'm always a fan of any cocktail that incorporates cucumber. It was one of the few items on the menu that stood out to me. A decent number of of the offerings are more of your standard cocktails (margaritas, ranch waters, etc.) and a good number have brown liquor (while I prefer clear liquor). Not the best menu for my taste, but that's not to say it's not a solid menu. Next time around, I'll have to stop by for steak night or to try out their food menu.

The ahi tuna wasn't the best. It wasn't fresh and the feta cheese was a bit too overwhelming. As for the spinach and artichoke dip, I felt like it was okay. Didn't really like the tomatoes as it made the dip runny and hinder the taste from the star ingredients of the dish. The smoked gouda burger was the best. The meat was cooked perfectly and the amount for each ingredients were given generously. I also really loved how you really can taste the smokiness from the bite. As for the pasta, I thought that it was good but not the best. It was starting to get a bit heavy with the amount of cheese and I do wish the cajun flavor could be a bit stronger. The chicken was also on the dry side but it's still pretty decent. Overall, this place is okay. Service could've been a bit better since it took a while for us to find someone to help us on our water refill and check.

Kaila took care of us and her service was excellent, she was attentive, friendly, and offered some great recommendations. While the menu is somewhat limited, everything we ordered came out hot, fast, and really tasty. Everyone in our group enjoyed their burgers, and I especially loved the Brussels sprouts, shrimp salad, and the crab puffs. Parking can be a bit of a hassle in the area, but there is a parking garage adjacent to the restaurant which makes it manageable. Overall, it was a great birthday dinner and I'll definitely be returning.

Came here on a Sunday for brunch. Not sure if it's the location or if the place isn't popular, but…read moreit was fairly empty. Definitely fine by me! Let's get to the food. The Brussel sprouts and crab hush puppies were great. The breakfast skillet, I could have done without. It had absolutely NO flavor. Luckily I asked for some sour cream and they were able to provide it. That's the only reason I was able to slightly enjoy the dish. The drinks. The mimosa was perfect. Hard to mess that up though right? I asked if they had any stouts and if so, if they could provide a sample. I'm so happy I asked for a sample and didn't just order the "one" stout they had. The beer was flat. So disappointing! Overall, the place was okay. I'd more than likely return for their drink happy hour, but it's a hard pass outside of that.
