To remain consistent please refer to my initial assessment of The Brass Tap in which I chastised others about criticizing the food in what was a beer establishment however in this case a mediocre hamburger in an abundance of restaurants that serve memorable hamburgers was the only thing that saved this establishment from one star. It is hot in Houston so cool spaces are appreciated however this was a bit short of a frigid wind tunnel. I withstood the ambiance in the hope the beer and hamburger night save it however this was simply a compounding of the error in which first and foremost was selecting the establishment. There was no service. It was mid-day on a Saturday there was no table service and despite many trips to the bar the bartender seemed enamored with 2 female customers which I am not faulting him for however assuming he was not the owner my guess is the owner would prefer him earning revenue rather than charm points. Given that there was one other party in the restaurant at this time I was likely the last to make the observation about substandard service. Do yourself and me a favor, find some redeeming values for The Brass Tap...I'll be watching.
