Was visiting for a graduation and discovered this restaurant online. I am soooo glad my family came. The atmosphere was friendly, the wait staff was amazing. Brad was our server and he was attentive, friendly, and he embodied the true essence of hospitality. If I lived in Texas, I would be a frequent guest!! Stopped by Katy Vibes one afternoon to check out their $5 Happy Hour. Ordered a well drink, chicken wings, crawfish rice, and broccolini. The wings were cooked and seasoned well. The crawfish rice was delicious and flavorful with lots of seasoning. The broccolini was still crunchy and tender with lots of butter and garlic. Overall, very tasty. read more

Pop on in since I seen the $5 sign from the feeder road. Service was very friendly. Possibly there was miscommunication. I inquired about a happy hour menu. And was told they don't have food on happy hour only drinks. So I ordered from the main menu. I order the Cajun crawfish pasta for $20. (Split to go). After paying and while waiting for the arrival of my order. I spotted the $5 Happy hour menu which has a list of food on the left and drinks on the right. I address it with the host/server. (He states he didn't say that. Miscommunication. I came for the food not drinks) I order the crawfish rice. My pasta to go arrives.... (-2) I ate while I waited for the crawfish pasta was salty AF. it made my tongue burn. Plus the temp should've been a bit warmer. Since it's packaged for to go, they should place the toast separate!!! (My son toast going to be soggy af) Since it was my first meal of the day at (5pm) and it was split, I completed it. I informed the bartender, he comp my $5 rice, which was nice. It's equivalent to getting half off and paying for the rice and leaving a tip. The service is very nice and welcoming/ friendly. I had such a fun night at music bingo! We've been trying to get out more and do fun things because, well, life is short! I was looking for a place to go for trivia night but didn't see anything online that peeked my interest. I did end up finding Katy Vibes which has bingo every Tuesday night. Actually, they have a lot going on almost every day of the week. It wasn't trivia but bingo is fun too...and it was free to play!!! On Tuesdays, they open at 5:00 PM. I got there a little after 5 and waited in my car until about 5:30. I wanted to see if more people would arrive but it wasn't too many more that came after me. I walked in and was greeted and seated shortly after. It was like a ghost town but the music was on point! It was about 6 customers total and they were all at the bar. I did find out later that the week prior, there was a huge crowd so I'm willing to go back. My server, Sky, was great! He was very friendly, very attentive and explained the Tuesday happy hour menu. He returned at the appropriate times to check if I needed anything and made me feel very welcomed. I ended up ordering three beef tacos and a cheese quesadilla. Everything that I ordered tasted really good. I finished my food a little before 6:30 and waited patiently for 7 o'clock bingo to start. Since there was not a huge crowd, it made my chances of winning even better! I ended up winning a $15 gift card for the restaurant. The host made playing so much fun!!! He was very energetic, he got people involved in singing along and at most times gave hints (wink). I've never heard of or played music bingo, but to me, it was a lot more fun than your average bingo game! Recently visited on a Friday night which was RnB night. I met my friends who were at the bar and after 6 there was a cover charge but not too much. The place is spacious and has plenty of seating. There's also a large patio. The staff was great and checked on us often. I split the lemon pepper dry wings with a friend and they were delicious! Juicy and with plenty of flavor. My other friend who is picky said the burger she tried "will do" which means to anyone else, it's good! The bathroom was clean at first but when I went to wash my hands later I noticed it needed to be checked more often. The entertainment was also great though I was more interested in the baseball game on the tv. My only complaint is that the music between the performance was insanely loud. Three strikes, I'm done with Katy Vibes. The last time I was at Katy Vibes I threated guest including my wife's cousin from out of town and my bill came to around $400 that was with a cover charge of $25 x 6 people so $150 just to get in. I wasn't mad that night which was a couple of months ago. The Vibe was cool and we had a great time but I didn't like the fact that I paid so much in cover charges. Its not my club but $10-$12 would of been a fair price. Fast forward, last Saturday May 11th I wanted to threat the family, including wife and grown kids to dinner, drinks and a night out to catch up. My wife suggested Katy Vibes. However, I refused to pay $125 in cover so I asked my wife to call Katy Vibes first to see if they were charging. My wife was told they weren't charging until 7pm and as long as we are there before that time we would be good with free entry. So we ordered drinks food and were actually having a good time and starting to enjoy the band and scenery. We finished are meals but were starting to order more drinks when right around 8pm our waiter was escorted by one of the managers (short round middle eastern guy) ... oh by the way our waiter, young man, was outstanding...white or light skinned hispanic guy who had a nose piercing.. outstanding great waiter.... so the round guy stands over our table and our waiter apologized and said that the manager said we now need to pay 25 dollars each since it is 8pm for the band... Number one people were looking at our table to see what was going on since the manager guy was just hoovering over our table along with our waiter. I explained that my wife called earlier and we wouldn't have come if we were going to be charged. Our bill this night was damn near already $300 and rising and he wanted me to pay another 125 as a cover charge.. He then told another manager the issue and the other manager insulted us even more and said we could either pay the extra 125 for a cover charge for the band who charges the club a few thousand to perform or clear the table for new customers or you and your family can go to the patio thats free or come back after 11pm when its free... I told him calmly, its fine we will leave but never coming back. Now we are a respectable family and even though we were spending good money were made to feel less than in their establishment. I'm not sure if it cultural or not but sure felt like it. Terrible customer service even when you are spending good money and having a nice time. I can appreciate Katy Vibes and what they're trying to do. Every neighborhood needs a place where folks can get ratchet while eating some better than average bar food and getting some daiquiri like drinks. I came on a Saturday evening so this place was bumping. There were two birthday parties going on so the main floor was pretty full with people. I sat down and was handed 2 menus, I was looking through both since they have so many options and my waitress comes up to take my order. Unfortunately I hadn't made my selection yet as it was within perhaps 1 minute of getting the menus so I asked for a few more minutes. I eventually made my choice but at least 15 minutes pass by and was wondering if she would eventually come back. Eventually she did. Since then, it turned 9 pm and it became loud. As in the DJ was blasting the music absolutely loud. I guess thats when it transitioned from restaurant/bar to club? However it was SO loud that I couldn't communicate correctly to my waitress my order Beerita + food. She also had me repeat it a few times. It took another 15+ minutes for my beerita to come out despite seeing people walk up to the bar and getting it right away. The Beerita itself was pretty delicious. NGL. However combined with the slow service, lack of attention to detail and the overly loud music, I don't think I would be coming back. read more

New Year eve.. Sucked.. Advertised as old school R&B.. DJ was Hispanic and had no clue what old school R &B is..played extended Hispanic spew every chance he got.. Visited on a Saturday night before 7pm; it was pretty empty. The hostess & waitress were friendly, but the timeliness of service was odd. I ordered a beer when we sat down, and it took 20 mins to come out-- our burger came out before the beer. Walked in, seated ourselves. It was karaoke night that started at 7pm. We sat around 6:30pm, we had Jess as a waitress. She started off good and attentive, and then he attention started to turn into missing and we looking for her to ask for other items we need. The food was not as delicious as I remembered. Crawfish was very oily. Salmon sliders was dry, bread on top was toasted or heated. Fries were on point. Phillycheese steak was okay. My friend ATE a sticker from the avocado farm. I visited during the Christmas Concert and, though I wasn't very hungry, I ordered the Louisiana Crawfish Rice with shrimp as an appetizer--it was absolutely delicious! The drinks were also great, and Nawar provided excellent service, making sure I was well taken care of. I'd recommend this place without hesitation as far as a restaurant goes. One small suggestion regarding the concert itself: for future events, it would be helpful to minimize distractions from the follow-up act and managerial staff walking around the front of the stage during the final performances. It would help keep the focus on the performers and enhance the overall experience. It really did feel like there wasn't much organization. They've been giving off pretty good vibes lately, so I love Katy Vibes. If I make jokes about them, they're just Katy Jibes. Cute little local bar that has awesome southern style wings, and in fact the wings are the main selling point, as are of course the alcoholic beverages. We fully recommend little local businesses like this over chains, and that's why we usually come and check them out, and why we first came here. Definitely my favorite Wings in Katy - and that's not saying a lot because I lived in Buffalo so the buffalo wings up there are incredible and down here not so great, but I like them. Especially that they're not really directly imitating buffalo wings and more of a kind of a southern style, which works especially down here and makes them unique and local. Today was the first time my family and I visited. The following entrees were ordered: the hanging skewer, lamb chop lollipop, wings, taco, pizza, and the special dessert of the day: churro fries w/ ice cream. Hanging Skewer: my nephew has the steak well done he enjoyed it. The asparagus was raw, so we spoke with the waiter and he brought out broccoli instead. Lollipop Lamb chop : I ordered it medium well. The lamb, carrots, potatoes, and sauce were paired perfectly. I think I had the best dish for the evening. The other entrees were okay and not a fan favorite. The dessert was terrible and not to my liking. It was literally fries with sugar coatings and ice cream, I.e churro fries. A big no. Service: The waiter was nice but I will say things went for a turn when he first took my nephews drink order and walked off. We had to request our order. Later in the setting one of my nephews apparently asked for ice cream on the way to wash his hands ( we never knew he asked for it) and the waiter actually submitted an order from a 5 year old. I have never seen anything like it, we had to request for it to be removed from the tab. Payment: there's an automatic 20% gratuity if your tables food comes out $90 or $100. If the tab is split for specific people, the 20% gratuity is still added to each tab. When paying be sure the you are aware the gratuity is automatically added and the tip option will show as an added option ( this can easily be missed) Overall: Our service was not above average and he took orders from a 5 year old and attempted to add it to the bill without telling the adults. I went to Katy vibes a few months ago and after 20 minutes nobody came to my table to inquire about ordering...I reached out to a waiter on my way to the restroom and he advised me that I wasn't in his section but that he would take care of me...his name was Brad and he was awesome...moving forward...I went to Katy Vibes last night and I sat and waited over 35 minutes and NOT ONE person reached out to bring a menu, water or take my order...it was 645pm...the entertainment didn't start til 730 so it was not even packed yet...I reached out to 3 different ladies/waitresses passing me by and they each said that they would get a waitress for me and no one ever showed...I finally became too pissed off to even enjoy a drink, a meal or the entertainment...so I left and I was sure to let the 3 lil teeny bopper young ladies that are door greeters of my situation...they just said , oh no, I'm so sorry...here's my suggestion...when the restaurant is using the "seat yourself" option...it's not required to have 3 young ladies telling me hello as I walk in the door...it would be better suited to have 2 of them trained as waitresses...or better yet...just retrain all staff to notice tables with warm bodies and nothing at all on their tables... read more
