Decide to make a drive to get kBBQ for lunch. The seafood pancake was mushy and quite expensive $22. We tried to make the texture better on the grill and it didn't work. Nice attempt from our waitress. Out of all the meats, only the Galbi was good. Rice and lettuce is an extra charge Meat size is 8oz. Combos are about 6oz. Jenny was our waitress and she was awesome Food was fast They don't seat you until the full party arrives The Banchans were sitting on the table for an unclear duration. It's also limited.

1 Star - Disrespectful & Misleading Experience We had a very disappointing experience at 8 Ounce KBBQ. The server recommended the A5 wagyu but never mentioned the price or that it was market price. We trusted the recommendation, and our bill ended up being $350, with $250 for the wagyu alone. We couldn't even eat half the wagyu because it was too much fat. We were genuinely confused and asked for clarification. Instead of handling it professionally, the staff became dismissive and defensive, saying that's "not what the waitress said happened." The manager (who claimed he was the owner) was rude and offered no attempt to resolve the situation. As we were leaving, he shooed us away and said "whatever, whatever, losers" in front of other guests. It wasn't about the cost -- it was about the lack of transparency and the way we were treated. Completely unprofessional and disappointing.

Highly recommend! Meat quality was great. We had the beef Galbi and marinated pork. They have pickled jalapeños instead of cucumbers. I wish they had more options on marinated meats. A lot of the meats are just plain meat. They also don't have very many sauces. Interiors is very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Biggest negative.... I hate... so bad metal chopsticks!! They had no option of wooden ones.

Not sure if we came on an off day, but this was honestly a disappointing KBBQ experience especially having seen quite a few positive reviews. We were seated within a few minutes after arriving. The banchan was already laid out - a good spread albeit some were pretty small portions. Our waiter was quick to take our order and got right to cooking the meat for us, something we appreciated given most places have you cook yourself. Our waiter did ask if we wanted to, so you could ask to cook for yourself. They are not an AYCE spot, so we ordered their beef combo (getting galbi was our number one priority) and an order of the pork belly. They cooked the meats in what I assume is an intentional sequence of beef brisket, pork belly, galbi, and finally beef bulgogi. The two of us were quite full by the end so you easily could just order the combo for 2 people which is how many the menu says it serves anyway. A few unfortunate notes: Clearly, our waiter was flustered with how busy she was at the start, something about some waitstaff only just clocking in (surprising for peak dinner time on a Friday). We did notice that there were a lot more staff half an hour into our meal and were VERY attentive, taking turns cooking the meat. The service was very friendly overall, but the beginning of our meal was quite bumpy - we had to ask for water, having seen that the adjacent table that sat down after us already received theirs. We also had to ask for rice and our waiter said it would be another 10 minutes since they needed to make some. By the time we received our rice, we had already eaten 2 of 4 of our meats. As a rice lover, this was quite disappointing. Something seemingly small but was very noticeable was that their metal chairs were extremely uncomfortable to sit in, and typically you want to sit for an extended amount of time for KBBQ. Lastly, the meats were mostly okay which was disappointing because their galbi was my favorite ever - it was juicy and fatty and perfectly cooked, and so flavorful that no sauce was needed. The beef brisket was alright, the pork belly mediocre, and the bulgogi was a bit too crunchy from the charring without much flavor. The sauces helped but had to carry a lot of weight flavor-wise. All in all, $150 (not including tip, and my husband got a beer) was a bit pricey for this sub-par experience.

You definitely have to try this place out. The beef bulgogi was my favorite it was so flavorful! I was not a fan of the pork belly tbh but my husband enjoyed it. We came when it was packed and waited awhile to be seated. But, once we got sat, our food came out pretty quickly and the servers were fantastic given how busy they were! They did a great job. I will also say, the chopsticks are TRASH. They were flat and extremely hard to pick up food. But, we'll definitely be back to try the lunch menus!

Grapefruit Soju and what's left of some amazing Galbi! The kimchi is amazing too!

8 Ounce is my favorite place to go. Such a friendly and professional staff. The food is amazing and they have a great selection of soju. The best Galbi I've ever had.

We went on a Thursday night and got seated immediately. They have a pretty extensive menu to choose from; from a la carte to their combo selection. Their side dishes were plentiful and delicious as well. I rarely ever see scallops on the menu at K-bbq places so you best bet, we had to order that and I'm so glad we did! The galbi recommended by our server was also tasty. Probably the best I've had in a long while. Speaking of service, Evan and the trainee was excellent! Overall, although pricing is on the higher end...you get what you pay for. I'd say it's worth it.

Its always great here at 8 Ounce. The service is top notch and meat is top quality. One of my top choices in KBQQ. Can't wait for their dessert!

Mixed bag. Meat quality is very good, but the sides are worse than at places with AYCE. Flimsy Korean pancake, and kimchi stew that tastes like Campbell's tomato soup. Limited banchan overall. Service was good, and they cook for you. Warning, sometimes it can be awkward when they come cook mid way between your gossip session. Hefty price tag for a meal. For Katy it's okay, but tons of other better kbbq places in the Houston metro.

When we walked in .. I'm impressed because inside the restaurant --- its so spacious and clean. Nice music as well. When seating the side dishes were already on the table and the sauces as well. We ordered serve 4 C . When they placed the meat on the table we started grilling , the staff told us the will cook for us so we can enjoy the food or we rather do it ourselves..... so we let them serve us .... Staffs were nice and explained it to us well Alex our server is very nice and attentive. The manager is very attentive as well. Food was good delicious. We will surely come back.

Meat quality were all truly great. Pork belly, jowl, beef shortrib, and beef tongue were all well marbled and tender. I think the sides can use a bit more work. Kimchi was on the tart side with less umami, and the stew was ok. Def worth a try for the wonderful meats!

Service here is amazing--they cook for you and are super helpful with picking out what to eat. The inside is also super spacious and very aesthetic. The food itself was alright in my opinion. We ordered the Beef Combo Small which came with an egg souffle, kimchi pancake, and a soup--we chose kimchi soup. The egg souffle was a bit on the salty side, the kimchi pancake super moist and kind of limp, and the kimchi soup tasted almost like a tomato soup with a kick to it. The sides that came with the meal were yummy and there was a good amount of them. As for the meat itself, it was good, but the seasoned boneless short rib was not much to write home about and beef brisket is what it is. The galbi was the best cut and was flavorful as well.

Sauces and sides - so yummy and added a bit of freshness when combined with different pieces of meat.

Brett's Bbq shop was a mixed Experience at a Recognized BBQ joint. We visited a Texas Monthly Top…read more100 BBQ award winner, a spot that previously held a Top 50 ranking. The restaurant itself was quite inviting, with a clean and well-maintained indoor seating area and a convenient beer and cocktail bar right next door. The lean brisket had a solid salt and pepper bark with good flavor, but I found the meat itself to be a little chewy. The ribs were a bit inconsistent; some parts were flavorful, while others were a bit mushy and salty. The texture was uneven throughout. The sausage was a house-made, peppery link with a tight casing. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite offering. On a more positive note, the sides were a definite highlight. The corn casserole was very good, with a nice balance between the corn and the breading. The cilantro coleslaw was a refreshing change, a light vinegar slaw with a great cilantro spice. It was packed with fresh carrots, red peppers, and onions, making it a delicious and flavorful side. Overall, while there were some inconsistencies with the meat, the inviting atmosphere and excellent sides made for a decent experience.
