XXX This place is a SCAM XXX We went with a family of four and two younger boys, I could write a long reviews about how bad this place is, but below are the highlights so you can save your hard earned money. a) A lot of the meat were not sliced so you had to cut the huge chunks of chicken and FAT and waste time trying to cut via a scissors. b) No pictures of cut of meat, expensive cuts were sliced so you can't order too much expensive cuts and cheaper cuts weren't sliced to waste your time trying to cut via scissors c) They charge kids by height but did not take time to even measure my younger boy, so he got charge adult price. We love Korean BBQ and especially AYCE. We went with the Premium selection to allow more non-beef and pork options. This place is really beef and pork heavy so if you have non-beef/pork eaters this is probably the best option, though still only two chicken options + shrimp. We've had AYCE Korean BBQ before but this place really loads you up with each meat selection so keep that in mind. We got like 7 different meats and that was way too much for 2 people. The food here was okay, but the wait was ridiculous. Not because it was packed, but because they are understaffed. We waited over an hour with more than half the restaurant full of open tables. It was during the holidays when I visited to give the benefit of the doubt. I can't say if there was anything in particular that I absolutely loved so much that I would come back for it and make this Korean restaurant a remarkable stand out. And the service was decent, but not so outstanding to warrant the price. Let's get this out of the way: the food was good. Not amazing, nothing special, but good enough. The real problem was the service, and especially the manager. Service was painfully slow. We didn't receive probably half of what we ordered, had to ask multiple times for the same items, and spent a huge part of our dining time just waiting around for food that either came extremely late or never came at all. I can understand a restaurant being busy. What I can't understand is a manager being rude to customers because his own restaurant couldn't keep up. When our time was basically up, after we had barely gotten to eat because so many of our orders never showed up, the manager actually told me, "You've had enough." Seriously? That was one of the rudest and most ridiculous things I've heard from a restaurant manager. You run an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT restaurant, fail to bring out a large portion of our orders, make us wait forever, and then have the audacity to tell a paying customer they've "had enough"? If you're going to enforce a time limit, then maybe make sure the food actually reaches the table within that time. Don't blame the customer for your slow service. The food was fine, but the manager's attitude completely killed the experience. Slow service can be forgiven when a place is busy. Disrespectful management is a different story. read more

Highly recommend! Meat quality was great. We had the beef Galbi and marinated pork. They have pickled jalapeños instead of cucumbers. I wish they had more options on marinated meats. Not sure if we came on an off day, but this was honestly a disappointing KBBQ experience especially having seen quite a few positive reviews. We were seated within a few minutes after arriving. The banchan was already laid out - a good spread albeit some were pretty small portions. Our waiter was quick to take our order and got right to cooking the meat for us, something we appreciated given most places have you cook yourself. Our waiter did ask if we wanted to, so you could ask to cook for yourself. They are not an AYCE spot, so we ordered their beef combo (getting galbi was our number one priority) and an order of the pork belly. They cooked the meats in what I assume is an intentional sequence of beef brisket, pork belly, galbi, and finally beef bulgogi. The two of us were quite full by the end so you easily could just order the combo for 2 people which is how many the menu says it serves anyway. A few unfortunate notes: Clearly, our waiter was flustered with how busy she was at the start, something about some waitstaff only just clocking in (surprising for peak dinner time on a Friday). We did notice that there were a lot more staff half an hour into our meal and were VERY attentive, taking turns cooking the meat. The service was very friendly overall, but the beginning of our meal was quite bumpy - we had to ask for water, having seen that the adjacent table that sat down after us already received theirs. We also had to ask for rice and our waiter said it would be another 10 minutes since they needed to make some. By the time we received our rice, we had already eaten 2 of 4 of our meats. As a rice lover, this was quite disappointing. Something seemingly small but was very noticeable was that their metal chairs were extremely uncomfortable to sit in, and typically you want to sit for an extended amount of time for KBBQ. Lastly, the meats were mostly okay which was disappointing because their galbi was my favorite ever - it was juicy and fatty and perfectly cooked, and so flavorful that no sauce was needed. The beef brisket was alright, the pork belly mediocre, and the bulgogi was a bit too crunchy from the charring without much flavor. The sauces helped but had to carry a lot of weight flavor-wise. All in all, $150 (not including tip, and my husband got a beer) was a bit pricey for this sub-par experience. read more

1 Star - Disrespectful & Misleading Experience We had a very disappointing experience at 8 Ounce KBBQ. The server recommended the A5 wagyu but never mentioned the price or that it was market price. We trusted the recommendation, and our bill ended up being $350, with $250 for the wagyu alone. We couldn't even eat half the wagyu because it was too much fat. We were genuinely confused and asked for clarification. Instead of handling it professionally, the staff became dismissive and defensive, saying that's "not what the waitress said happened." The manager (who claimed he was the owner) was rude and offered no attempt to resolve the situation. As we were leaving, he shooed us away and said "whatever, whatever, losers" in front of other guests. It wasn't about the cost -- it was about the lack of transparency and the way we were treated. Their side dishes were plentiful and delicious as well. I rarely ever see scallops on the menu at K-bbq places so you best bet, we had to order that and I'm so glad we did! Came here for an early dinner and was seated quickly. I tried the LA Galbi and the Spicy Chicken. Here the servers cook the meat and manage the grill for you. It's a nice experience and the server was very nice, but it does feel like it breaks up the table conversation. The LA Galbi was some of the best I've had, highly recommend. The chicken on the other hand was not one I'd pick. I found the flavor a little underwhelming and not spicy. The banchan was nice, but I wish the servers would notice which get empty and ask if we'd like refills instead of having to request them. (Check google reviews) The statement that we "fully finished" and "expressed enjoyment" of the A5 Wagyu is simply not accurate. The issue was never about trying to get something for free. The issue was that a very expensive item was suggested to us without the price being clearly disclosed upfront. Saying the menu lists "market price" does not replace verbally informing guests of the actual cost when recommending an item at that level. Instead of acknowledging this, the response felt defensive and dismissive. The overall experience came across as an upsell without transparency, followed by poor handling of a legitimate concern. One had mentioned no white rice available, had asked another server to make sure and had brought us some immediately, additionally one of us had asked for diet Pepsi and the other server had said that the machine was already turned off (11pm). We asked another server and he brought us the Pepsi just fine so we were confused with the service. They had a minor attitude which was displeasing after noticing that we noticed both contradicting each other plus the somewhat rushing us to finish when they close at 12pm. We ordered way too much food, ate way too much and left planning our next visit! We ordered: Combo A, soy garlic chicken, Man doo. All combos come with a plethora of side dishes. The staff was amazing and helped walk us through all the main dishes and side dishes and how to combine them. The combos are HUGE. I'm a big girl but there is so much meat that it fed all three of us and we had leftovers. The soy chicken was the only one I would pass on next time. We ordered the Beef Combo Small which came with an egg souffle, kimchi pancake, and a soup--we chose kimchi soup. The egg souffle was a bit on the salty side, the kimchi pancake super moist and kind of limp, and the kimchi soup tasted almost like a tomato soup with a kick to it. For a party of four, we got three different meats and they provided us with the usual banchan, and soup. Everything was really tender and marinated well (pork belly and boneless short rib beef).
