pad c ew, tom yum soup, pad thai w/ fried chicken
    Christine H.

This place is a new local spot in Katy Asian Town and I loved it! I went to Thailand last year & I was missing the food so this place really scratched the itch for me. The atmosphere is cozy & cute. The servers are attentive & kind. The prices are reasonable! They have 4 different heat levels (not spicy, mild, hot, Thai hot). I usually handle heat pretty well so I went with the hot but I would go with the mild next time lol. For the appetizer, we got the Thai papaya salad (hot) & roti w/ curry sauce. The roti was good but nothing special. The papaya salad was refreshing, savory, and just the thing I was craving. We got the hot spice level for pad c ew, pad thai w/ fried chicken, tom yum fried rice, tom yum soup, & boat noodles. All of these items are delicious & you can't go wrong with any of them. The tom yum fried rice had me thinking, "How come I've never thought of this?" I'm not a big fried rice fan, but I love tom yum & if you do too, you should check this out. I'm a fan of the boat noodles, you should give them a try if you're looking for something new! It's a warm hearty broth & dare I say...I may even like it more than pho. For dessert we got the mango sticky rice because duh. Sweet mangos on a bed of warm and addictively chewy sticky rice, what's not to love?

Yark Green in Katy Asiatown is a lovely spot with modern, cute decor. The service was very friendly and super attentive throughout the meal. We ordered the spicy edamame, pad Thai with glass noodles (there's a $2 upcharge for the glass noodles), and the spicy basil chicken. The portions were very generous. The spicy edamame was very tasty and had a nice kick. The pad thai was moist and delicious with great flavor. The spicy basil chicken came with a lot of veggies but was pretty good. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.

Cute new Thai restaurant in Katy Asia town, they warmly greet you when you walk in. It's locally owned by a family, who at the time were still re-arranging the tables and booth which took away from the experience but nonetheless the food was good! They had a lunch special deal going on that includes a salad, soup, tea, and dessert with your main entree choice. You can adjust the spice level 1-5 and pick your protein. The food came out quickly and was beautifully plated. The pad kee mao was sauced well and it had just the right amount of burnt edges. The salad was ok, I had to ask for extra dressing which they gave me. The soup was meh, but it was nice to have, it was a bit lukewarm when I started to taste it. However the dessert was nice, it was a sago with coconut milk, which reminded me of home.

Tried out this new spot and it was so cute! Decor was nice and TV had street food Thai videos playing which felt cozy. Staff was super helpful and quick as well. Came here on Easter and it was a hit and super yum. We got a little bit of everything we could- samplers tom yum, shrimp fried rice, fish, mango sticky rice, and no complaints with any. Everything was full of flavor and probably one of the best Thai food I've had in a while in Katy. Super good!

3.5 stars! I ordered the panang curry and the khao soi at medium spice which was not spicy at all, but still good, just nothing special. There was so little shrimp in the khao soi, which was a shame bc the shrimp was good. Service was fast and I love the interior of the place. I will say that I think this place is a little pricey on some dishes.

I stopped by for a solo lunch and had a great experience overall. Yark green ambiance was very chill, and the restaurant was clean, cute, and well kept. They kept the décor and layout from the previous restaurant, which worked nicely. The lunch special offers excellent value with a generous portion. I ordered the Pad Thai, and the flavors were well balanced between sweet and sour. The carrot garnish on top felt a bit excessive, but the overall presentation was cute, especially with the egg roll, dumpling, soup, salad, and dessert included. The veggie egg roll was fresh and crispy but slightly under-seasoned, and I personally would've liked some meat. The fried dumpling and salad were average. The tom yum soup was flavorful but on the salty side and could use more veggies. Dessert was a small cube of tiramisu, which was a pleasant surprise--not too sweet and just right. Service was fine. I seated myself, and the staff came by promptly to take my order. Final Verdict: I would come back if I was craving Thai food and in the area.

Food was great, love the lunch menu because you taste all the flavors. Salad and soup were as expected, egg roll & edamame was a nice addition. Crispy chicken and noodles were flavorful. Service with a smile

Just opened Thai joint. They have options that other Thai restaurants typically don't- there is Laos influence to the food, which is unique! The atmosphere is cute. The food is very tasty- they are still figuring out spice level for the people of Katy. Tell them Thai level spice if you need really spicy! I liked the food we got, and the pandan lychee drink was amazing. Good addition to Katy Asian Town

Great place to get Thai food around the area, I was so surprised to see the price of their lunch special, probably the best lunch special for the deal that I've ever got! My dad got the pad Thai while I got the basil chicken. I probably wouldn't get the basil chicken again as it was more on the soggy watery side, including the rice and the chicken itself. The pat Thai was pretty spawn on in terms of a good balance of sweet and sour. Overall, I highly recommend and would even come back to try their entrées.

We absolutely loved this place! Yark Green is a newer Thai restaurant, and it completely exceeded our expectations. It was so amazing that we came back just two days later. On our first visit, my husband had the crab fried rice and I ordered the red curry with chicken-both were outstanding. When we returned, I had the red curry again but with shrimp, and it was just as incredible. The roti bread is so delicious, and the crab rangoons were hands down the best l've ever had. Everything we tried was excellent, from the food to the service. The staff was wonderful, and the restaurant itself is a very pretty, cozy little spot. We're already looking forward to going back again , located in Katy Asian town

My absolute favorite place! The customer service is perfect and attentive. The calm atmosphere and delicious green curry keep me coming back. I did order Crab Wontons for an appetizer perfect crisp and fresh. Food here is always perfect!!

Yark is a great thai restaurant to dine in and take out. The food is very well balanced. However if you are looking for thai level spicy it is more toned down. But if you are not looking for the spiciest level then this is a great thai option. The Roti with the sauces are great. The food does come out a bit slower even when its not a full house however they just opened this location so hopefully their speed improves. The Thai green Tea is great and the water is good. I would say the quality is worth the wait

We let the ice melt a bit and it made for a great palatte cleanser. Banh Xeo (4.5/5): Definitely one of their signature dishes. I read the reviews on how large it was and it was still shocking! See my hand for reference. It's crispy and delicious. Two downsides: Not enough protein, and not enough lettuce to make wraps with how big it is. But overall, definitely one of the best I've had outside of homemade. Banh Khot (4/5): These little flavor explosions are a perfect bite size and are also a signature dish. Would definitely recommend. A few of ours were light on the pork. Banh Bot Chien (3.5/5): I was dying to try this since there is really one famous spot for it. Their version is very good, but misses on the crispiness. The inside texture and pairing sauces and radish were all very good, it just needed a little more crisp. I love that they give extra garlic and spice and basically let you customize the intensity of your fish sauce to your preference. Paid with no issues via inKind at the counter. The curry is thick with potato and super tender chicken and the roti canai bread is chewy but somehow still flaky and flavorful at the same time. It was so good that I ordered another one for myself to go to let my partner try it at home. Malaysian Chicken Satay (5/5): You will read "tender chicken" in my review several times. It's not a joke. Yes, the chicken was beautifully tender. Chicken rice, also fantastic. Curry Chicken Puff (4.5/5): So this was way more filling than I expected. It's like an intense Asian empanada? Totally worth it. Comes out really hot. Lastly, we got a serenade from the man himself. Yes, he pulls out a mic and sings. It's his break from cooking during the dinner rush. So, you might indeed get dinner and a show! It's beautiful to see someone who enjoys what he's doing - and his voice is such that some people think it's a song over the intercom instead of live music, take that how you will :) TL;DR: Absolutely contends for Best in Katy. This is a welcome entrance and certainly a wonderful competitor that benefits the consumer considerably. Firstly, let's talk about their menu which is rather extensive frankly we had soup and steamed dumplings, two different meals and to top it off shrimp fried rolls. All of them were absolutely wonderful. As I've said, in other dumpling places since this is a non-native food for me I can't speak to how close to authentic it is but regardless of its authenticity, it is well worth the experience. The service is extremely efficient very prompt you want for nothing. The only problem is that it is now a popular enough spot apparently that the demand on the single server which was in the restaurant on this particular occasion is considerable plus that same server buses the tables. In any case, she was absolutely wonderful extremely efficient and very kind. Took her time to explain items on the menu and then to discuss what some of her favorites amongst the many items they offer are. Will take her up on it the next time. The ambience is rather straightforward. Nothing luxurious whatsoever, but it gets the job done and so I'm certainly not going to opine negatively given the food service and the value. It is quite clean, which to me is a fundamental requirement of any restaurant. This restaurant certainly meets that criteria without any difficulty whatsoever. I would highly recommend this experience value quality of food service all wonderful and should not be missed.

At first it was just us and one other table, but not long after, more people started coming in, probably for lunch as well. The restaurant is pretty large, with both tables and booths, plus a big table for large groups. This is what we ordered: Combo Rolls This comes as a sampler with five different types of spring rolls. Regular spring rolls, nem nuong rolls (fermented grilled pork), grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp only. I really liked this idea because it lets you try everything without having to order each roll separately. My favorite was the nem nuong roll. Bun Bo Hue I do not eat pork blood or pork loaf, so I substituted them with more tendon and beef meatballs. Because of that, I cannot really comment on how the pork tasted. The broth was okay but a little lacking in flavor. After I asked for shrimp paste, it tasted much better. Bo Kho (Beef Stew) This is my husband favorite dish, so he always orders it whenever a place has it. He ordered the one come with bread as dipping. He did not really like this one. It was not bad, but not great either. The flavor was missing, and the broth was more watered down than how he prefers it. Still, it is worth trying if you like beef stew. Overall, our experience was just okay. The service was fine, but the food did not leave a strong impression on us. We did not stay long since my husband had to get back to work. I would come back to try more dishes, especially pho. Since their name is Pho Guru, I feel like the pho might be better.
