I had a one time, bad experience at this location and when I tell you they made it right extremely quickly, they made it right! I was very concerned with the cross contamination that occurred one visit, it had never happened before and I was shocked. The staff at this location know my face at this point and automatically keep my salad away from meat (I'm vegan and have allergies) but that day it was a different staff. I explained to one member but he did not relay it to the next one which created cross contamination. I left without my salad that day. I emailed corporate and they immediately responded. The manager and owner both reached out to me within 24 hours. They invited me to come back for a free salad and even when I got there to get the salad, they offered me cookies, drinks, anything else. I did not take it because I just simply wanted the salad that I had originally ordered, but the sentiment was really nice. The manager came and spoke with me and apologized. She explained that she had run the cameras back, so exactly what happened and was in shock. She knew that that was not the normal protocol, and she said that that staff member was retrained. I really appreciated the attention to detail and want to make it right. This will continue to be my fav Salata location. They have definitely won a lifer out of me. Thank you guys again. read more

They have a large selection to choose from and a nice facility in which to enjoy them. There's one very close to my neighborhood about 2 miles from my home so it's the place that I may frequent more in the near future. Now I hear it's very pricey but I am not surprised! The taste was something else and it was delicious. I know salads but this is not your typical salad at all. I got so many toppings I almost forgot I had lettuce. I always go with the shrimp and avocado. Those cost extra, but they're worth it. I don't have the rewards program, but Eddie checked me out and let me know all the benefits, and he made the checkout seamless. We were at this Salata today around 4 pm. There was not 1 clean table. The floor had trash/food on it. While we were eating a guy came in with his little dog on a leash. I love that they have so many options. I'm allergic to most ranches and so I can never have ranch without looking at the ingredients first, but i love that they have like 10 different dressings I can have and I can mix it up. I like the smoked turkey, and the sun dried tomatoes, it's just sobering that makes it feel a bit special. The drinks are actually one of my husband's favorite parts, they have unsweetened tea options and he loves tea, but can't have sweet tea, but likes flavors. Even my kid will eat a salad here because she likes anything covered with ranch and they do fruit and cherry tomatoes, so it's a win. read more

Salata is a Houston chain that is all over Texas now, and even outside Texas a little bit, and this one is way out in the middle of Katy and brand new. I quite enjoyed the salad here - it wasn't bad, although it didn't have anything on the best ones I've been to, which would be the one at Citycentre, and the one upstairs on Wesleyan in the Richmond district near the Galleria. The problem with a lot of them is that the portions are small. Other issues include bad service or ingredients not being fresh. This location didn't really have any of those issues, but it also didn't blow me away, and the salad could have been even bigger (like our fave location at Richmond and Weslayan) maybe. Salata is still one of the best Salad Bars you'll ever eat at, unless you get a bad location or a bad crew or a bad day, because consistency definitely can be questionable at some locations more than others. The dressing that I like best is the fresh herb vinaigrette and we both like it which is unusual because we usually both don't get the same thing but here it's just that good that we do. This was the first time I tried this place. I love the concept of going down the line and custom make your food. I ended up with a big salad for $10 because I didn't add any protein. I will be back. The reason for lower stars is because of the service, employees were not very enthusiastic when providing service, it's like they will do the minimum, hardly smiling or speaking more pleasant. Also, when adding the veggies and fruits to the bowl, why are they not using tongs or the little ladles half of the time? They used their gloved hand to grab and scoop! Isn't that cross contamination? Used the same glove to grab and scoop different food items! Later I noticed the employees behind the counter dropped from 5 to 4. A line was created. Timed them - the seventh person on line waited 7 minutes to start her order. The gentleman cleaning earlier joined the serving crew - I'm sure he washed up, he didn't go from cleaning directly to serve! And he happened to be the friendliest of all! Definitely will come back.
