Gross! What a disappointing visit to Pei Wei! I haven't eaten there since moving to TX from AZ. I doubt that I will ever go back. The cup lids for soft drinks were stored in a small stainless steel bin. In order to get a lid you out you hand Into bin. It was BEYOND filthy! I am literally talking nasty dried food and God only knows what else literally covered the inside of this cylinder. I was completely grossed out! I looked around and noticed other similar containers with self serve items like soy in them. all equally as dirty. I got shrimp fried rice to go. It was HORRIBLE as well. The rice was very 'wet/soggy' and sticky, extremely white like it hadnt been cooked. Tasteless! The shrimp was tough, but tasted undercooked, it also had zero taste/flavor. I am preparing to take the $18.00 dish back, as I cannot eat it!! The only thing is is that live 10 miles away, so it's a huge hassle! Do yourself a favor and don't bother on this one. Had I seen my review before going? I would not have gone and would've saved myself a trip and a couplel hours of my time. Update: One Hour Later... So I took the order back. The manager or owner whom waited on me originally acted like he'd never seen me before. I told him what was going on- no apology, or acknowledgement of my bad experience.. He literally just turned around and forcefully through the bag in the trash. He had my receipt in hand, but was acting as though he could find not find a corresponding transaction. At one point he even asked me you came in today? Yes I said, you waited on me. Finally he sort of facially gestured like he was giving in and turned around and handed me $15, which was shorting me two dollars and some odd change from the original price. Absolutely miserable experience. Staff was good. But food was so spicy I had to spit out the one bite I took. My meal was pad Thai! It should not be spicy, and even then still a spice level 1. That was at least a 5! And the entire seating area was freezing! And by freezing, I mean it felt like walking into a walk in freezer. Every customer said something about it when we moved to a different table because it was too cold in the corner. Overall, just a miserable experience. I wish I had asked for my money back, but I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. read more

We were not greeted when we walked in. We waited several minutes before our order was taken. The person who walked in behind us by a few minutes was greeted pleasantly . I enjoy this place so much. They have wonderful GLUTEN FREE options as well as vegetarian options ! Chicken- shrimp- beef- tofu for the options. They have new soups and lettuce wraps. I'm not sure how long this has been here but I've never noticed it over the last few years I have been coming to MOD, which is literally next door. This location is smaller than other Pei Wei locations I've been to. There is less seating, large enough for about 15 people to dine in I'd say. Took my daughters here on Friday, and was surprised to see quite the crowd! Ordering was easy, and the wait wasn't too long, all things considered. We ended up getting a feast for 3, which came on a big party-style platter. I thought we would have three separate containers to eat from, but it wasn't a big deal, so the girls and I put the platter in the middle of a table and started eating. The food was pretty tasty, but my only complaint is that some parts of it were very salty and others were devoid of sauce altogether. The feast also came with some donut holes that were SO good! I would probably put Pei Wei in the 3* range based on my food experience alone, but I wanted to give a shout-out and extra star to Stephany, our server. She helped us place our order, but then she also came outside to check on us several times, discovering that we were missing plates and serving spoons, which normally come with the feast. She rectified the issue quickly, and generally just went above and beyond. I am willing to give it another try thanks to her efforts. read more

My family and I were SUPER excited to order Pei Wei after not having it since Covid hit and the Mason Rd. location closed. We ordered our usual favorites. egg rolls, Thai wonton soup, Chicken lo mein, Korean bbq steak, grilled chicken bourbon, Kung Pao shrimp, and Pei Wei original beef. To our disbelief and astonishment, we couldn't quite understand what had happened to the Pei Wei that we had come to love so much! Every single item tasted completely different as it once did. Beginning with Thai Wonton soup; the original was simply scrumptiousness in cup. Fresh lemongrass broth, flavorful dumplings, and that perfect added taste of basil was now reduced to watered-down, day-old tasteless broth with soggy dumplings and no basil to be seen. The eggrolls were soft, and greasy. The entrees which we all tried since we have a buffet-style dinner and set out all entrees to share were unbelievably bland and flavorless. Once again, the original Pei Wei was filled with the freshest vegetables, most amazing flavors and left your tastebuds craving more! That's what made it so wonderful. Sadly, the food at this location was nowhere close to the original. It failed in all areas. Not quite sure why the taste was so vastly different but, if you want your business to sustain itself bring the original tastes back. We could have saved the $100 plus dollars we spent and cooked a better dinner at home had we known. We will not be returning. read more
