Been seeing this Salata restaurant for a long while. But never set foot here because I thought it was just a salad bar. Ever since I had repeated bad experiences at their HBU location, I decided to try this one. The restaurant is cleaner than the other one. Staff is friendly and more helpful. Food is lined up by the wall, not behind the glass wall, unlike the other one. I don't mind it. But I think it can be distracting. Food was fresh. I ordered a large bowl no meats but with chopped eggs, chickpeas, black beans and edamame beans. I chose the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Nothing fancy. All natural. The employee who prepared my dish recommended me to download the Salata app to save money with rewards. So, I did it at home. Yeah. Different location, same good healthy eating. Service and atmosphere: Very good service. All staff members were polite, friendly and helpful. The place was very clean, organised and played good music. Food and drinks: Great selection of fresh ingredients to build your favourite salad. All chosen ingredients are mixed in a medium or large stainless steel bowl. You can also add side of soup and crunchy bread to your order. The soups alternate. Everything tasted very good. I'm a huge fan of Salata, so it pangs me to write a review that's less than 5 stars, especially since I usually visit their Richmond or Katy locations twice or three times a week. However, the Westchase location left me quite disappointed. I was in the area and decided to grab a bowl to-go for dinner. Unfortunately, I was met with unfriendly and unwelcoming customer service. The person making my bowl was pretty light handed with the servings. This was completely different from the experience I had at the Richmond and Katy locations. The worst part of the experience this evening was with the person who rang me up. She had absolutely ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. She looked so bothered when I asked her to enter my account number because I have a Salata account. It seemed like more work than she wanted to do so she had such an annoyed face. Despite her lack of customer service, after I paid, I said thank you but her response was "uh huh." If you're not going to say thank you first, at least say "my pleasure" or "you're welcome" when I, the customer, said thank you to you. If this was my first time experiencing Salata, it would absolutely be my last time having Salata. read more

I absolutely love this place! It is so fresh and so clean inside. The customer service is great as well. I absolutely love their tomato soup and it was yummy to have on a cold day. I usually get the wraps here for something different and ai highly recommend. There are so many options to choose from! You can customize your wrap to have any ingredient you want in it. This time I got chicken, spinach, corn, black beans, tomatoes, cheese, egg, and mandarin oranges. It sounds kind of a like a weird combination, but trust me when I say it is delicious! The Westchase Salata has recently stopped offering metal utensils. Only plastic. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO CUT UP A SALAD WITH JUST PLASTIC UTENSILS. What a short-sighted, ridiculous move. The service was even better because the ladies who made the salad were on point and Menuer who works in the dining room was amazing! Ordered customized salads online and picked up shortly. Absolutely loved the multigrain croissant. Completely amazed by the texture and flavor. As for the salad, it's $9 for a regular side salad, $3 for chicken and $1 for avocado. Not too shabby. Downside was the chicken was so salty. Granted it could've been all the other side toppings with the chicken that made the salt flavor enhanced. I didn't use dressing bc I rarely do. I ended up adding more greens to dilute the salty aspect of it. Besides the salt, I'll probably be back again due to limited salad places nearby. read more

This is one of the locations I'm not crazy about. It's not a bad little salad shop but it's also not our favourite out of the many Salata locations in Houston, which is Salata's hometown. We've been here twice now and both times we got an average salad, which wasn't great, and there are a couple of locations that just make it bigger and better and fresher and we will always go to those before we come here, and having said that it's still pretty good and we like it. The better locations are Weslayan (#1 fave, the best employees and biggest salads!), Gray (some great employees) and I-10 next to Energy Corridor/Hwy 6 (great ingredients, #2 fav!). Salata is a Houston chain that is all over Texas now, and even outside Texas a little bit, and this one is way out in the middle of Katy and brand new. The problem with a lot of them is that the portions are small. Other issues include bad service or ingredients not being fresh. This location didn't really have any of those issues, but it also didn't blow me away, and the salad could have been even bigger (like Weslayan) maybe. Salata is still one of the best Salad Bars you'll ever eat at, unless you get a bad location or a bad crew or a bad day, because consistency definitely can be questionable at some locations more than others. Their croissant is amazing too, not healthy but omg, that whole wheat croissant is worth the price of admission alone, and you get one free with your salad. Oh, and the best dressing is the Lemon one, but a lot of people like Fresh Herb. Since they sell salads, perhaps they should be called "Sell-ata" instead? I'm not sure, but $8 for a leafy bowl of green goodness is a good deal, especially considering how large these salads are, with unlimited toppings and all the goodies. read more

What a wonderful successfully clean fresh salad with delicious dressing and fresh fruit, scrumptious dressing and great service. The salad dressing I chose was an avocado, jalapeño ranch, spicy tasty yumminess!!!!!! Cost was fair an enormous salad for $9, turkey smoked $4, and so much more. It had been awhile since I'd craved Salata & I've visited this location only once before. I arrived at opening 11am & opted for a cucumber wrap. Although I was saddened to hear they were out of my fav (Mango Dressing) the server preparing was very patient with me. She asked questions & suggested a few taste options. I tried them out but just went along with a light drizzle of ranch. Everyone wore masks/gloves & kept distance for the most part. I enjoyed my meal as well as the service. We placed a mobile order via the Salata website on Sunday 3/1/20 at the Westchase location (10898 Westheimer Rd) for pickup. We were able to pick up our salad order and took it home to enjoy for dinner. As we ate the salad, we found a sharp piece of plastic in one of the salads, and then again found a second piece. Not sure where it came from and how it got into the salad but it was uncomfortable to continue to eat. We inspected the salad packaging/box to see if there were damages to it but no, the two pieces of plastic were not from the box itself. I've attached photos of what I found before throwing the whole dinner away. No response from the customer service contact listed on their website I emailed earlier last week either. read more

This is my favorite place. Freshness always. And I've always had a pleasant experience. It's clean in here and the food is never all over the place, always neat. And the food is always good. Never had a bad salad. If you like spicy the buffalo chipotle is a great dressing. The avocado jalapeno adds just a bit of kick and the ginger lime is a nice light vinaigrette with a burst of flavor. I went with the avocado, .grapes, corn, mushrooms, shrimp, black beans, tomatoes, cranberries, chopped egg, apples, sun sun-dried tomatoes on a bed of arcadian, arugula and chopped spinach. I would have given a great review! Nice, clean, but the manager Tammy was walking though coughing with her mouth uncovered. She coughed in her hands a few times, and touched the utensils as she was training someone. I ignored the first few times, but she seemed to have such a persistent snotty cough that she eventually grabbed a napkin to cough into. But not before walking back and forth, coughing. You could hear the phlegm in her throat. I understand that duty calls, but if you're that sick stay home! Not to mention, the salad items are uncovered. I wondered, if the workers picked up her bug and called in, would she be gracious to them, especially since she didn't mind sharing? Thanks, but no thanks! BEWARE: do not get this salata location delivered or thru this locations online drive they pick up. They will certainly mess up your order. I picked up an order placed online this past week. 4 toppings were missing, including my sons chicken, a few other items were also wrong or not done correctly. I called the store, someone answered and then hung up on me and didn't bother to answer when I called back. Most people would just post a bad review online but I have worked in the restaurant industry so I decided to give them an opportunity to make things right. I emailed corporate this info who got back to me a couple days later that they are sorry me would pass on this info to the franchisee. Too late now. As a broke college kid, paying $10+ for a salad is ridiculous. But as an adult, it's another story. Got the large salad, added chicken and avocado and it ended up being like $12? But it became two meals, my dinner and next day's lunch, so I'd say it's worth it. Last time I had salata was when my friend wanted to meet up back in college and I had balked at the price. I love a good salad place and this one is definitely good. When you go in, you can get in line and choose what you want in your salad. First, is the size. They have small, regular, or a wrap. I would recommend a small because that itself is already a lot. Mixed salata or spring salad. They have all kinds of toppings. For me, I got corn, Mandarin oranges, cranberries, carrots, croutons, mixed seafood, chipotle chicken, cabbages, and these tiny sprouts. I also got a bread roll and tomato basil soup. You can choose from tomato basil or broccoli soup. I chose chipotle sauce on my salad. I enjoyed my salad, veggies were crunchy and the seafood was fresh. I was not a fan of the chipotle chicken. I thought it was a little hard. I didn't quite enjoy it. The chipotle sauce gave the salad a nice spice. They had 3 people doing the salad and one person at the register. I came during lunch so there was a lot of people. The line was moving quite slow. They definitely need more people working. I thought it took too long to get a salad since you just have to put the toppings in the bowl. It's a self-served place minus the salad. After you pay, you can go get your drink, silverwares and get a table. Afterward, you can dump your trash and leave the tray kind of like a fast food place. Total price was about $14. read more
