Red Curry chicken, Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) chicken - both delicious

This cozy, unassuming restaurant in a strip mall serves amazing Thai food. The staff is kind and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable, with generous portions and great lunch specials. Pad Kee Mao is flavorful with a distinct wok aroma, the curries have perfect consistency and taste, and the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are warm and comforting.

everything was perfect, the ambience and vibe was surprisingly chill, Pen's service (if I spelled her name right) was amazing, and the food was definitely very good. the setting, the food and the service is definitely very good for night time meal type setting

It's been awhile since I have ordered from here and I did recommend this restaurant to many of my friends who enjoy spicy food. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. I know they're short staff and I know I may have ordered at an odd time (9:30-10ish PM on a weekend) but I'm just disappointed in taste. Forget the price, forget they're short staff, forget the mom and pop interior design... let's just focus on the food quality. Basil fried rice lacked in basil flavor. It's one of the worst basil fried rice I had in an extremely long time. Roti by itself and no soup on the side? This is the only restaurant that does this with no cup of soup. I wasn't expecting a lot but give me something. Otherwise, what's the point of ordering it if I didn't order any curry dishes? Now, my biggest disappointment... chicken pad Thai. Lacked in flavor and had a weird aftertaste. Maybe I didn't noticed it before since it was much spicier. Lacked in spice. Not sure if I will be back. On the bright side, it was simple to just order on the Yelp app and got my food on time.

Excellent food! Cozy place! Warm and friendly host! We had the larb, massaman curry, pad prik king and tiger cry! All excellent at spice level number 3! Well balanced flavor!

Great service and great food. I'm a consistent fan of this restaurant and will continue to come here!

Back again! Food is still great! This time i have pics! I got the pad ke mao with pork and my husband got the pad ke mao with shrimp again. My son got the orange chicken; not my favorite, but both he and my husband liked the crisp and the different sauce! The crispy spring rolls were excellent as usual, and we tried the Thai chicken wings tonight. Wonderfully crisp, hot and juicy, with delicious seasoning and a little bit of tang at the end. Satisfied once again!

I've been coming to Thai Lily for more 10 years. Even though we have moved far away, we still stop by a few times a year to have our favorite Thai food. The staff (Pen & BJ) have watched my son grow from a child to an adult. We love coming here and the food is always amazing!!! Now they have gluten free options for those with dietary restrictions. My mom's favorites are panang curry and Thai omelet. My son's favorites are shrimp in a blanket and cheese rolls. My favorites are papaya salad, fried pompano and pad thai.

We are just visiting the Houston area and happened to be by Thai Lily Cafe. My wife, son, and I decided to grab some food. We were greeted and seated immediately. Despite the signs apologizing for short staff and possible slow service, we did not experience a long wait at all. We received our drinks and food in a reasonable amount of time. My wife got the yellow curry, my son some chicken fried rice, and I had some chicken Pad Thai. All came out looking fresh and delicious! The food was great, service was nice, and the sweet jazz music and dim lights made my son feel fancy!

Combination pad Thai with egg roll

I was randomly craving some Thai food today so I googled the closet place to be with decent reviews. I was greeted my a lady who I presume to be the owner and she was so sweet. The establishment was very quaint and tidy and there wasn't very many people so you can sit wherever (although I got my food to go) I ordered a combination pad Thai ( chicken, pork and beef) and one chicken egg roll. My pad Thai was level 2 spicy (on their scale of 1-5). I didn't find it spicy at all. I appreciate that the food was hot and fresh but I have to be completely honest, my pad Thai had absolutely no flavor. Like none. When I got home, I legit had to add more salt, chili pepper, seasoning and soy sauce to it to enjoy it. Also my noodles at the bottom of the plate was a bit stuck together. I guess my craving was satisfied enough after I spiced it up a bit.

Great service and wonderful food! The atmosphere is very intimate. Great place to take a couple friends or loved ones.

The atmosphere feels lively, casual, and packed with personality--exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble upon but rarely do. The menu is enormous, featuring dishes from different regions of Thailand, with everything from soups and stir-fried noodles to rice dishes, curries, seafood, and grilled meats. Looking around the dining room, it seemed like nobody ordered the same thing because there is just so much to try. Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable for a place with this much hype. I had some of the best noodles of my life here. The Pad Kee Mao was phenomenal (best I've ever had and I eat thai food OFTEN) the noodles were chewy, bouncy, fresh, and perfectly coated in sauce. Everything tasted made-to-order and arrived piping hot. We also ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, which was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor, along with the Green Papaya Salad, which was easily one of the best versions I've ever had. The heat, acidity, and freshness was incredible and so well balanced. Many of the dishes are served on banana leaves, which adds to the entire experience and makes everything feel even more authentic and special. As someone who loves spice, I also appreciated the range of spice levels available. They don't hold back, which I always consider a good sign. One of the coolest surprises is that there's an attached market selling imported products from Thailand and Vietnam--lots of fun snacks, drinks, sauces, and ingredients you won't find at a typical grocery store. A few things to know: parking can be a little challenging, and while it's a sit-down restaurant, you'll need to head to the cashier to pay. They also accept cards, so don't worry about bringing cash. If I lived nearby, I would honestly come here every week just to work my way through the menu. This is the kind of restaurant that's worth planning a trip around. I would come back to Houston just for this meal. When people say Houston has some of the best Asian food in the country, this is exactly the type of place they're talking about!!

We visited for lunch on a Tuesday and had no wait to be seated. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The spring rolls and dumplings were both very good and made a great start to the meal. The Pad Thai had nice flavor and was enjoyable. My husband ordered his dish at a spice level 4 (their highest spice level), but felt it wasn't quite as spicy as expected, so keep that in mind if you like a lot of heat. The portions were very generous, and we definitely had leftovers. The kids' chicken fried rice was a huge portion and was surprisingly good. We also enjoyed the mango sticky rice for dessert--it was a great way to end the meal. The only disappointment was the Thai tea, which tasted a little weak compared to what we've had at other Thai restaurants. Overall, the food was tasty, the service was good, and the portions were excellent. We'd be happy to return and try more items from the menu.

The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! As for my friend's spicy red snapper, I tried a bite and the spices/texture in the dish complimented the fish very well. For dessert, we ordered the classic Mango Sticky Rice! They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
