There were tons of eateries to choose from along with desserts, clothing vendors, and jewelry stands, so there was a little bit of everything to explore, even a smoke shop. It felt lively without being overwhelming and made for a fun night out. What really stood out was the overall night market vibe. Walking around, trying different food spots, and checking out the vendors made it feel like a great place to hang out with friends. I'm going to come out swinging with this one. POST Market is the best food hall in Houston. And it's not even close. I've stopped by so many times that I've lost count. So I'll share a summary of my experiences that explain why POST is so great. Ambiance (5/5): POST is a sprawling food hall. I love the vibes. And it's much more than a food hall. There are vendors. Art exhibits. A large spiral staircase takes you up to the sky lawn. Where you can see picturesque views of downtown Houston. Whether you're downstairs or on the rooftop, you're going to enjoy your time here. O and 713 Music Hall is right there, too. Service (4/5): Since it's a food hall, you order your food at various vendors, and they will either text you or give you a time estimate to check in to pick up your food. So service isn't really part of the experience here. Drinks (4/5): POST has two main bars. The more popular one is in the center of the food hall. It's circular in shape with seats at the bar if you'd like to drink, or drink and dine, while you're there. It's a full bar, and you have a solid list of cocktails. Food (5/5): As you would expect from a food hall, there is periodic turnover with the vendors. Whatever the current lineup is, you'll find a diverse range of cuisine available. You'll find Chinese, fried chicken, burgers, pizza, Peruvian, Nigerian, grilled cheese, elote, ice cream, bubble tea, Italian, Japanese, Thai, pizza, Indian, Eastern European, and more (currently). As a self-proclaimed foodie, Houston is prime-realty to me! There was absolutely no way I could visit and not check out the food culture. The POST Market was a highly recommended spot that I heard and read reviews about, so I had high expectations. Upon visiting though, I wasn't really impressed. Aside from the beautiful rooftop views, the food options did not appeal to me very much. I was in town on business and decided to visit on my first night for dinner. It was conveniently located just a few minutes from my hotel and has plenty of parking. When you enter, you'll be greeted by a beautiful space adorned with white walls, colorful lighting, and an array of diverse restaurants. It is essentially a food court with culturally diverse options. From Thai, Southern American Cuisine, Mexican, and even Filipino food, there was something for anyone to try. I decided to go for a Mexican spot called, Taco Fuego. It was underwhelming to say the least. Since it was close to closing time, I decided not to partake in other food options. There was signage up indicating that entertainment was provided, but I didn't quite understand where, so I left. On the ride home with my hotel shuttle, the driver mentioned that I should have gone to the rooftop because that is the big attraction there. With that said, I decided to return during the day on another day. I already had lunch, so I tried dessert. I stopped by the Flower and Cream counter for a cup of ice cream. I'm not sure if it is considered culturally diverse, but the ice cream was tasty. I had the cereal milk oreo and honey rose flavors. Very delicious and service was superb. I decided to enjoy my dessert on the rooftop and took an elevator up. I can see why it is a big attraction because simply, its beautiful! The views are amazing and the space is very modern and well-maintained. There were tables and chairs around for you to relax or enjoy your food. Also, some sort of gardening initiatives as I saw different plants and signs with details about them. Overall, I had a good experience. It wasn't exactly what I expected but it was nice for what I saw. Ultimately, it was a place to check-off and I don't think I'd return for anything more than the views but I'd recommend to others. read more

I went for the food, but I stayed for the roof top view! It's lovely. We were there in the evening, so it was nice and cool with the sun providing the perfect back drop for some really romantic pics! There's a green area on the rooftop and an infinity water feature, but the water wasn't running the day I was there. There's a wide range of food selections in the food court. Great Eatery Experience! It was a pleasure coming to this visually appealing place with delicious food to match. I enjoyed lunch at Kwosushi and had the spicy salmon rice bowl that was made to order. It cold with raw salmon but they were so accommodating & seared mine a little. A later had a scoop of biscoff cookie ice cream with a black vanilla cone from Flower and cream. They have quite a few colors with speciality made ice cream flavors and toppings. It's so many more restaurants to try with ample seating & family friendly. I've been a Houstonian long enough to remember dropping off my IRS tax return here many years ago on April 15th. That was back when it was the Barbara Jordan US Post office and sorting center. It eventually was closed and sat vacant for many years. A few years ago some developers bought it with the idea to renovate it for a food and shopping destination with office spaces as well and a music hall venue. I went with some friends yesterday to take pictures up on the rooftop at sunset. The developers put in a large landscaped garden on the roof and at this time of year they have the garden decorated with all kinds of winter holiday decorations, they call it Winter Wunderland. We had to drive into town from Kingwood so we arrived just before 4 pm and there was plenty of parking spaces. Just to be clear, they do charge for parking but they don't give you a ticket upon entry, they scan your license plate so when you exit it rescans and determines how long you have been there and you just pay by credit card at the exit. After parking we went inside. The main area is what you could call a food hall. There are all kinds of little food spaces serving everything you can imagine from pizza to sushi, Filipino food, a ramen shop, burgers and even a place that just sells fancy grilled cheese sandwiches. There are even to large bar areas selling beer, wine and cocktails. You order your food and beverage, pay and they either text you for pickup or give you a beeper device. But most of the places are cash free and only take credit cards. My friends and I wondered around after eating and took some pictures, the food hall has tons of chrome, stainless steel and neon lighting so is very cool to photography. When they remodeled the building they cut away through the upper floors above the food hall and the whole roof area is a skylight so bright during the day. We finally went up to the roof at 5 pm and as another yelper said, the directions are non-existent. You have to use the elevator up front where an employee scans your ticket or sells you one. Everything is done by phone and QR codes now. The elevator only takes you to the second floor, we had to ask someone where the next elevator was. They really need to put up directions signs. We eventually got to the roof. We walked around taking pictures and waiting for the sun to set, you really get a great view of the north side of the downtown skyline and the sunset light was perfect. Only downside was a cold front had hit Houston earlier so it was quite chilly up on the roof. After an hour or so we had seen enough and made our way back to our car and the long drive back to Kingwood. read more

This place is such a cute little spot.. I'm not from here so I found this place from a TikTok.. it's a good hall that has a bunch of options.. I came on a weekday and it was busy but not crowded. The place was clean and easy to navigate. I'm not sure how many food options there are, but I think there's something for everybody as well as little snacks and desserts. There are a lot of photo opportunities inside and rooftop. The rooftop has seating options and panoramic views of the city.. along with a garden and little walking path. My family and I all ordered different things, perfect for when everyone wants something different together. Overall this is a cute little stop to make, parking is paid per hour I believe $5p/h but the first hour is free.. there is also street metered parking. I suggest going before the sun sets, to get the best of both worlds day time-sunset-evening city lights.. I was here 2.5hrs , but i think you could do it all in 1-1.5hrs including ordering and eating food, taking a lap both inside and rooftop, photo ops and catching thsunset time. read more

POST Market is the food court that is housed inside POST - a multi-use space in downtown Houston. The space used to be the headquarters of Houston's USPS, and as such has an industrial vibe. I was looking for some lunch after a morning of museum exploring, and since POST came at the recommendation of several friends, I decided to check it out. While the offerings in POST as a whole are a little sparse, the Market section is by far the most developed area of the facility and where most of the people were. The decor is industrial to go with the rest of the space, and all of the food spots are untied by having neon signage which really pops against the white grated backdrop. There are several food vendors offering a variety of cuisines. I landed on tacos and got three birria ones - they were pretty good but nothing to write home about. I was also in the mood for something sweet so I decided to get a cone; the raspberry tres leches was speaking to me and got it in a red cone to complete the aesthetics. The ice cream was really good and was a good finisher to my meal. Overall, I had a good experience at POST Market. While I didn't find anything I had to be destination worthy, it's a good spot to spend some time and satisfy a variety of tastes. read more

POST Market is one of my favorite food halls in Houston. I love the diversity of the cuisines offered as it is reflective of Houston as well as the building's history (it was the former Barbara Jordan Post Office). The Market has so many restaurants to choose from and some of the restaurants have changed over the past few years. I love that ChopnBlok gives out free samples. Lea Jane's Hot Chicken and Taco Fuego seem to always have a line. If you want something sweet, there's quite a few dessert options. There's lots of seating inside the Market. There used to be some seating outside on the loading dock near Andes Café, however I didn't see any tables on the dock during my last visit. If you want to enjoy an adult beverage, the Market has two bars: Address Unknown and Return to Sender. The craft cocktails at Return to Sender are very good! The bars have happy hour specials from 3p-6p M-F. On my last visit, I noticed that a daiquiri place moved in. I like that they have water fountains with refill stations. This can come in handy if you're going to be hanging out awhile. The neon lights are so bright and cool! The website boasts that the Market gives "cyberpunk vibes." I also love the spiral staircase in the middle of the hall. It's an attention grabber and makes for a cool photo op. The edition of the jumbo LED screens is a nice touch. The Market would be a perfect place to grab a bite to eat while watching the game! They host Astros watch parties as well as trivia on Tuesdays. They also have a lounge area. The thing is doing holidays after 5 you have to pay to get on the roof sometimes even to get upstairs, usually it's special events going on. Coming here is like stepping into a new world. All the light up signs make you feel like you are in an Asian night market. They have lots of different options to chose from. Make sure to take a lap around before deciding on something. The only thing not well marked was where to get silverware and your soda. They only have 2 stations and they are on opposite ends. If there were signs to help point you in the right direction that would help. They do have 2 bars inside and 2 dessert options as well. SUCH an awesome spot! I'm from St. Louis, so this was such a great spot to stop and check out some local businesses. We have a spot like this called The Foundry, so I was excited to explore what it had to offer. It is well lit with lots of natural light- super inviting. Loved the neon lights of each spot, definitely added to the cool aesthetic. We had just eaten lunch and were wanting some coffee and something sweet. While on the hunt, I saw so many different kinds of spots to grab food from: Italian, boba, Mediterranean, a bar to grab a drink, Cajun, burgers- truly the works. We stumbled upon Jackson's Brew for coffee, and Paletas del Sol for our dessert. After grabbing our items, we made our way upstairs to check out the rooftop. I love the idea of this, it would be so cool to grab lunch here regularly and get some fresh air. Loved it and would definitely go back next time I come to HTX! read more

Love a good food hall!! Especially a food hall that serves nice sized portions so you get your money's worth. Tonight tried Lea Jane's Hot Chicken. I ordered the Plain Jane chicken sandwich that comes with fries. You can't sub here so to try the Mac n cheese I had to order it on the side. I also ordered a side of ranch for the fries. Everything was great as far as the sandwich and fries!! I was not a huge fan of the Mac n cheese but at least I tried it. Now y'all this ranch!! Ughh sooo good!! Creamy, thick and has a touch of dill. Not your average ranch but so good. And I'm now obsessed. I will be back to try the other spots like Twisted Grilled Cheese! I visited for dinner and tried out a couple of food spots: - If you're in the mood for street corn, check out Elotex. I ordered a small cup tossed in chipotle mayo, cheese and topped with Doritos. SO good. - Bubble tea at Ice Ice Boba. I don't know how they made their tapioca pearls, but it was perfect. - Grab a paleta from The Paleta Bar. The tres leches was my favorite. - Falafel tacos from Taco Fuego were in fact, FUEGO! There are a bunch of seats to relax and enjoy your meal. Super huge space that I guess is historic and they even have a giant safe to check out when you walk in. Large food court with probably the most dining options of any food hall in the city. There are a lot of international choices here. During my first visit, I tried Spice Zest, ChopnBlok, Ice Ice Boba, and Flower and Cream. Some places offer free samples, which is a great way to promote your business (for businesses) and a great way to tell if you want to spend your hard-earned money on their product (customers). As far as drinks, there are 2 bar areas for alcohol. One is beer only, other has beer, wine and hard liquor. For non-drinkers, most places offer canned or bottled sodas and juices. Some also offer fountain drinks. Fountains drinks are pretty standard at $3 no matter which booth you visit. There is plenty of seating whether in the food court, or sitting in either of the side atriums, just remember not to eat on the couches! read more

We tried a sample from chopnblock (which was DELICIOUS) but decided it wasn't really what we were feeling... back to that in a second. My husband decided to go with Rollin Phatties. His meal was amazing. 10/10. He got the Zinger with masala fries. I'm dreaming about his dinner. It was a fair price too. I decided to try out the beef and potato empanadas and fries from Andes. They were okay. Nothing special, but not bad. They were pricy, and it just wasn't worth the cost to me. I would've rather spent the money at chopnblock. What could be cool than going to a old post office with amazing food court options to satisfy everyone in your group AND an amazing rooftop area to see downtown Houston? This place!!!!! What are you waiting for? First off, parking is free if you park for 0-75 minutes. Woot woot! We arrived on a Monday evening (Astro opening game night). There were so many options to eat at. I just couldn't choose and so many fusion options. We definitely went all the way up the stairs (there is an elevator as well) to get to the rooftop.
