Fin Food Hall has fantastic variety, and the burgers, noodles and pot stickers we tried were fresh and delicious. There's plenty of seating, though the vibe is more functional than "cozy." The biggest drawback is the street parking--it was such a headache that I won't be adding this to my list of regulars. Tara and Peter are absolutely amazing! I had a great conversation with them. Very personable nice people. I walk in downtown all the time and I've never seen this place. Will brought me in with the marketing mail they sent me. I'm glad they sent me that because I was able to try out proper Berger. The burger was amazing. The seven-year itch is real, and this evening marked my long-awaited return to this excellent downtown food court after exactly seven years. Not much has changed here, except for the restaurants that now occupy the space. When I last visited, I tried a Korean eatery called Yong. Sadly, Yong is long gone, but in its place is another fantastic Seoul-inspired spot: Nyam Nyam. I had dinner from them, and I'll be diving into that experience in a separate review! What is constant, though, is that residents, visitors, and downtown office workers still have solid choices for breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the hustling, bustling heart of the H. I was going to check out a restaurant in Finn Hall and saw this quaint little place and decided to give it a try. Finn Hall is a food court heaven with an eclectic blend of cozy restaurants that will satisfy even the pickiest consumer. I tried Fire Breathing Noodz and tried the Creamy Gochujang. Per the restaurant name it was fire, so I had to get water. These restaurants are exactly what name implies a series of uniquely different restaurants, so expect to pay for water, lol. I visited this restaurant on a whim out of curiosity. One of the few times I've seen such a collection of tiny restaurants, such as this has been in airports. This place Finn Hall is in downtown Houston at 712 Main St. I started the conversation with the people in this particular restaurant and asked the question if I could only try one dish what would you suggest and that's what I ate. Convenient stop right off the metro rail. Several different places to eat at but on a Saturday around 7 pm a few of them were closed. We settled in craft burger. Service was a little confusing. You order on a machine although staff are handling tasks in the kitchen. For 2 burgers with onion rings and fries. It took about 20 minutes to come. My burger wasn't entirely correct so I returned to ask for what was missing. The onion rings were large and overcooked. The truffle fries were really good. Once my burger was correct, it also was good. It was an average cost burger that I could eat again but the burger is all i'm probably going to order. The french fries are shareable size! Most of the restaurants in Finn Hall lean too hard on the savory side of dishes: with its two Asian bowl stops in Nyam Nyam and Fire Noodz, the burger joint A Burger Spot, and more. And the coffee shop doesn't even have baked goods on their menu. Cranky Carrot Co. does well to balance Finn Hall's savory focus with sweeter options, but I think a crepe restaurant would pop off here. It'll mean more European representation in an Asian/American dominated food court, and it's another option for people with a sweet tooth. read more

The Finn - Great Flavors, Some Rough Edges Had dinner at The Finn in Houston, and I've got mixed feelings. The highlight was definitely the pork belly bowl -- flavorful, rich, and the kimchi was absolutely on point. The food itself was solid and packed with flavor, no complaints there. But... a few things took away from the overall experience. The bartender was really slow with drinks, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you're ordering cocktails. And while the inside was nice, the scene right outside the restaurant was kind of off-putting -- some homeless individuals hanging around and, unfortunately, using the area as a bathroom. So yeah, it's a bit of a mixed bag. If you're down for some great food, don't mind waiting on drinks, and aren't easily rattled by the surroundings, The Finn is still worth a visit. My review is not if Finn Hall but Nyam Nyam Korean BBQ within. First we went after a game and felt Finn Hall would be great as it had options. They were the latest place open and had a line so we were excited. We got the bowl with white rice,ribeye and Brussel sprouts. Also a side of kimchi rice to try. When we got our order we got a bowl with kimchi rice, ribeye and broccoli and a side of white rice. The order was not entirely but we were hopeful. The ribeye meat was flavorful and tender but everything else was not worth it. The kimchi rice has burnt hard rice mixed in and the broccoli was cold and lacked flavor. The white rice was full cooked but nothing special. All in all the experience was not good with the order mix up and hard burnt kimchi rice. The ribeye though I would take an entire bowl of but for $15 a bowl this was not that great. read more

I stopped by Finn Hall for lunch and was pleased because it allowed me to support some local diverse-owned businesses. I like the variety of businesses and the fact that they have award-winning businesses that represent the best of Houston (e.g. Three Keys Coffee & Craft Burger). There's a fair amount of seating. I went during the height of lunch hour on a Monday and it wasn't too crowded. Apparently they offer discounted parking. Some vendors close early so check their hours before going. read more

I've been here a few times and my latest visit, I went to Fire Noods which was actually really good and fairly priced. I got Thai noodle which was only $15. It was super tasty and there were a decent amount of meat (chicken) in there. My friend got the birria ramen which was also surprisingly good. It was not too oily or fatty which was a good surprise. We were there on a Thursday evening around 6pm so it wasn't too busy and we found free street parking. After a quick lap around the hall, I went with Pecking Order. We had a choice of two food outlets only when we arrived. The shining light however is the Swallows Nest bar. Excellent drinks made by Elianna (forgive the spelling). finn hall itself * 3 stars, mostly due to small number of eateries food itself * 4 stars NOTES: on 5/20/22 there were only 6 restaurants here, ALL with varying hours! call & check before you go! pic posted of hours at time of visit. as far as this fitting the "food hall" concept, its a miss for me. although it is in a great location near a metrorail station downtown, there isnt much there. and with the wildly varying hours, you arent likely to find too much open at the same time. in my mind, a food hall is an upscale "food court" offering a variety of cuisines so a party with varying appetites or tastes can all head for one spot for a meal or treats. the good news is the food we tried at 2 of the spots that were open was very enjoyable. we arrived about 1:45PM on friday and saw dish society was closing in 15 minutes. i had seen their fried smoked gouda grit balls ($7) online and wanted to try them. so we quickly placed an order. we were handed a beeper so we'd know when they were ready. besides dish society, there were really only 3 other food choices: Pizza Zquare, Papalo Taqueria and Yong. the pizza and salads looked good, and tacos smelled good, but we decided we wanted asian - so the korean offered at yongs was our choice. we ordered bulgogi ($14) bibimbap ($14) rice bowls and some rolls - they were sushi style with bulgogi, radish and carrots. (they took our number to text us when ready) not all the promised veggies - one of my favorite parts of korean cuisine were on the bibimbap. also, both dishes came with a fried egg - but the egg was not listed as coming on either. take note if allergic! pics posted both plates were tasty and the meat was tender and flavorful. sides that were present were good and the rolls were awesome! and there was a very generous portion on all. the gouda grit balls came with jalapeño jelly sauce. they were fresh, hot and surprising light. they had been rolled in panko, then deep fried. they were good even after they had cooled. in addition to spots mentioned, there was also Greenway Coffee Company and Swallow's Nest Bar, both were open. we watched the astros game replay at the bar while we ate. the hall was pretty empty of customers, but presumably is busier during business lunch hours. hopefully the hall can build on what they have, cause we liked what we tried! read more

I went here with my husband and we both had delicious meals. I ended up going to an Asian restaurant towards the back of Finn hall and my husband got a pizza! As you can see in the photos the dumplings were so delicious that we ate most of them before I got a photo. The soy sauce noodles were just ok. I ended up taking half of them home with me and I actually found them to be better the second day reheated. Not as big or special as painted in reviews and articles, the options were limited. We are from a few places but nothing was worth noting as great. I would avoid the brisket eggrolls we got from one place, they were not wrapped properly so the oil entered the roll. The bartender at the center bar was very nice. In general I'd say it's not worth going out of your way to go here, but if you are walking by and in a hurry you can grab something. read more

You walk in and you have lots of options....pizza, authentic Sichuan, Mexican, Middle Eastern, burgers, etc. There are tons of options! We decided to go to the Swallow's Nest on the 2nd floor, where you can order from the menus of all the places and just pay once. (Downstairs you order from each individual place and pay there) You can also get some nice cocktails! Service was nice but there was issues getting the food at the same time since we ordered from different places (which, to be honest, makes sense and nothing I'm dinging the place for). Food varied from really good to "meh". I had some lamb chorizo fries and liked them. The tacos my friends received were disappointing. Pizza was good, salad was fine and burger was okay.
