The Grove is a beautiful place to dine both inside and out. The dining room is very well decorated with lots of windows with views of the park. The patio is expansive with lots of shade from nearby trees. The service is good but perhaps too many people responding to your table. At times the servers were coming to the table asking the exact same question you had responded to with the last person three minutes earlier. The menu has many options offering cocktails and food. My dish was the Lamb Chops which were very good but you only get two. If you are looking for a hearty meal be sure to start appetizers. The beet salad was a tasty choice. My biggest negative from our visit was the wait time for our entree. With so many servers checking on you, the food order was lost. Our main dishes came forty minutes after our salad.

The photos don't really do the patio justice but it's so nice to be right in the she of discovery green and enjoying a tasty meal. Their burgers were so good and their ice cream flight was great to share with friends. The server was friendly and had some good recs for the ice cream flavors. The patio lighting was my favorite especially after a relaxing yoga session in the park.

I totally forgot to take pics of the food but I had their lobster, steak, braised pork, chicken nachos, tuna tar tar, and loads more. I just got so carried away in the flavors and vibes that I completely forgot to capture an image of the food which was delicately prepared with attention to detail. The service as over the top wit all of the staff checking on me and my friends repeatedly, telling us candid jokes and much more. I absolutely loved how big this space was too, there was over 100 people there both inside and outside. Now parking is a bit tricky as there is only street parking available. The valet also uses the street parking so when I tell you please use the street parking, do it. It's easy and plenty. I would recommend their steak and lobster.

It's really good here. Most of the time I'll try some place and think -eh it's ok- mostly when it's ok food. But this place, real special. Amazing presentation, each menu item comes out beautifully and tastes how it looks- amazing. The seasonal watermelon tartare left me wanting more and for sure need the watermelon sorbet in my home freezer, creamy and full of fresh flavor. My pork chops were cooked perfectly and had me scraping bone to get anything left. Mixability(when the sauce touches the other items on your plate and it tasting good still): 10/10. Sometimes a sauce can get on something and makes it not so tasty. Not here. The architecture and almost "blueprint" like drawings of the restaurant in the menu is a cool touch and love having the view of the grove/all the green outside. My food was served quickly but didn't feel rushed, everything brought to me at a good temp and brought out as soon as ready, sorbet was the perfect consistency and came right after my meal. I hope to visit Houston again soon and I'll be here--trying what they have next time. Very attentive and caring, from the host, my server, and a very nice job to the chef, you have a passion in your craft and it shows! If you're looking for an experience with your meal, this is where it's at.

The Cauliflower Koshary was exotic. It came with rice at the bottom and was a healthy filling vegetarian meal. I always appreciate when they go the extra mile to tell the ingredients to make sure I am ok with everything that is going into my meal. The presentation Ofcourse made me hungry instantly .... The side salad was good too. This time skipped the chocolate cake due to time constraints :(

Adventuring around the busy convention center lead us across Discovery Green to the Grove for lunch. Upon first walking in, it was as pretty as I thought it would be since admiring it from outside. We got the menus and honestly I was disappointed. For lunch, the cheapest items were around 20-30 dollars if you want a protein. The yelp page is full of great photos of good looking food. I got the cheeseburger which I wish I had done a size comparison. It was on the smaller size especially for 24. I guess that was due to the better meat. Though even with the cut, meh. I honestly wish they had more of the food back from the previous photos yelpers took. The sweet potato and kale taquitos had a better flavor and better value. The sauce was more along a marina-ish feel. Overall after going in and the current lunch menu, I won't be returning. The server was nice enough but not worth ignoring the mediocre overpriced food.

Came here right before the lunch rush and enjoyed my time here. We were one of the first to dine for Lunch that day so we didn't have a wait at all which is a plus. Service was amazing because there wasn't anyone there and most of the attention was on us. I ordered the strawberry salad and added the salmon and asked for the almonds or pecans to be removed as I have an allergy. The salad was delicious and it almost could have been a full bowl vs a plate but it was delicious.

First time at The Grove to celebrate the birthday lady. The service was great and the ambiance is really nice. I love how spacious the place is. Now, if you're vegetarian there are just not many options for you (us) on the menu which sucks. Thankfully for me I'm pescatarian sometimes (do we really need the labels?), so technically I could have indulged in a seafood entree. I ended up ordering the blue crab corn fritters and made that my meal along with that delicious ass bread! Y'all the bread and the butter is a treat. I'll go back just to order that and a beverage. I originally ordered a martini and it was an absolute no for me- it tasted like rubbing alcohol ahhh. Opted for a glass of wine instead. The margarita was good as well. Overall, The Grove was a good experience. They do give people celebrating their birthdays a free treat and I must say that the berries and cream dessert was delightful.

We walked in with no reservations. Four little girls were with us under the age of 10 and the restaurant staff made us feel very welcome. Such a good experience for them. Love the ambiance. Beautiful setting with the lighted figs plus the sprawling oaks outside. We had a lovely Prosecco to start with. The dirty martini was superb! The girls enjoyed the house milk rolls. And our server, Alcides, was so helpful! He immediately put in the littles' orders so their hamburgers would be ready first. The scallops were simply amazing! Caviar jalapeños olives yogurt fennel...absolutely perfected cooked. In fact, best scallops I've ever had! I ended this delicious meal with an Espresso martini - perfect!

Good food. Good table service. Good drink selection. There for a corporate dinner in early November this year. The high ceiling helps reduce the noise of a large open space. It would be 5 star if the hostess hadn't snapped at us over simple questions like asking for a menu that we needed to wait for our waitress who was really busy right now. The sarcasm that she would get to us when she possibly could wasn't lost on us. At most restaurants, the hostess seats you with a menu and this was odd.

Great restaurant. The pics in yelp of the restaurant don't do it justice. Really good food and service. Tried several dishes including the first time I've ever seen "fried" potato salad. While the potato salad was different it was actually pretty good. The food also went well with a great open concept restaurant that also felt quite airy with all of the windows that open to the park. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in Houston.

    Charred wings

So, this is a place I will definitely have to revisit to give a complete review, however, this review would be based off of the charred wings and service, for the most part. We went here on a Wednesday night, so it was fairly empty. The set up of the restaurant was very intimate, which I liked. The lights were dimmed and the candles were lit. Unfortunately, we came to this place on a whim and I had already stuffed my face. So, my friend just ordered the wings, a drink, and a Corona. The wings definitely gave the appearance of tasty, but they were just average to me like they were missing a particular seasoning. It also gave the flavor that it may have been cooked alongside some pork, which I really wasn't a fan of. I kind of got the sense that since we ordered so little that the waiter was a tad in a rush with us. She bought the check before my friend was ready and while he still had the intent of ordering his last item, the beer. This may have been a one off experience. The rest of the food looked good and I've heard good things in the past, so I would be willing to visit again and give an updated review.

October 26, 2021 Came into town w/a friend from Galveston for the Van Gogh "immersive" art exhibit. But, first we needed to see the skull exhibit at Discovery Green. They were so cool. So, anytime we're at the green, we come have cocktails here! Sat at the bar and a few glasses of great wine. Beautiful day out too!

Shay - we DO have heaters available for our patio. They are mushroom heaters that we can put next to your table! We hope to see you soon!

Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

The service was 10/10, food was amaaaazing. We looked at other reviews before going and went with an app we didn't hear much about, but an entree that we did hear amazing things about. Everyone raves about the pasta and rightfully so. The noodles with the right amount of bolognese was such a flavorful comfort food. The pork belly was also delicious but the pasta hit better. I could eat the butter by the pint. The fingerlinging potato dish is also a must have...pretty small for $19 but tastes like heaven. Spicy! Zaddy was being a bit of a clutz that evening and knocked over my $20 mezcal cocktail, so what does he do? Orders me another one! (That's why he's "zaddy") ....kind of wish he hadn't...so wasn't worth the price tag. Skip it. The chicken dinner was definitely the winner--fresh, juicy breast, crispy skin...don't be cute, you won't finish it unless your party has at least 4 in it! The flies were ruthless! Very annoying! While we waited for our table, we grabbed drinks at the bar on the other side, which felt like the perfect way to start the evening. I don't play about service and every box you could check was executed very well here. The greeting on entry was very intentional and welcoming. The table was still pending so the hostess showed us the bar and welcomed us to wait there. The bartender greeted us with a smile. We started with wine and when the table was ready the hostess came to gather us. A server came to take our drinks over to the table for us and they transferred the tab for us. Y'all, I love not having to think for a moment lol, please guide me through an experience. Ok so we got escorted to the table and since it was for my birthday, the hostess said "I think I have the perfect birthday table for you." And she did, because we ended up with the cutest plush velvet (I think lol) booth overlooking the rest of the restaurant so we could really take in the atmosphere. Also, loved the fully open-concept kitchen. Being able to see all the action added to the experience and gave the space a lively, interactive feel. Ok back to service because Bludorn really is topping the game! Our server was sweet and was able to speak to all the menu options. He really steered me in the right direction on choices, not one miss! Occasionally other staff would pop by just to say hi and make sure we were doing well. And I just love a little attention when I'm out spending my money y'all so that sat well with me. Ok now let's talk about the main event, the food. To start they brought us their version of Parker Rolls with a garlic butter, excellent starter. For an app I got the Chilled Corn Soup with Blue Crab. It was really refreshing, the flavors were vibrant and that crab was fresh. They also did not skimp on the crab. I honestly hated that it had to come to an end. For my entrée I did the Blackened Red Snapper (removed the bacon). This dish had a black eyed pea and puree situation under the fish. It was delicious! The snapper was perfectly flaky and tender, and the flavor of the accompanying puree was reminiscent of my mom's black eyed pea stew with bold flavors. The only thing was that I wanted the portion to be a little bigger, just made me sad is all lol. We also ordered the creamed spinach because they said it's one of their best sides and y'all it was so rich and velvety, it practically melted in my mouth! Now since it was my bday they brought out a cute chocolate dessert and had Happy Birthday written on the plate. I love details, it's going to get me every time. My friend got the salmon and said that it was "ok, nothing super special." She did love her shrimp app though. When we were ready for the check they brought out a cute postcard and the check was on the back. I thought that was so different, like finding a way to make the check cute is a talent lol. Also, for our left overs, they brought us little gold number plates, which we took to the front when leaving to claim our to-go bags. I thought this was very sophisticated, keeping the table clear in case you want to continue with drinks and convo, etc. Overall, the ambiance was warm, intimate, elevated, and effortlessly a vibe. Definitely the kind of place that feels perfect for date night or a cute dinner out with the girls. Would I go again? Of course, and I wouldn't think twice. As a matter of fact I'm making resys for brunch within the next few weeks. I plan to keep Bludorn in my rotation because when a place does it right you keep them close. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. Restaurant vibe is relaxed and clean. There were several large parties and what looked like a lot of date night guests. Just try it. No regrets!!

Hollywood, va voom and metagorda all similar in taste to each other. The maison salad was delicious. Butter lettuce with the toppings and sauce was just enjoyable. The butter burger sliders were good. Just would like it thicker as it's too much bun. The cookie on the way out was so awesome, I almost went back in to grab another. Gingerbread I think. Avery was a wonderful bartender and kept up with entertaining conversations and was attentive to all service needs. Tried the g4 tequila reposado and it was very easy drinking.

I know. "Fine dining" and burgers? But that's what I wanted. I searched the web and found the Chefs Table in Vintage Park, and it wasn't too far from us here in The Woodlands, so we decided to make reservations and head there. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We will definitely be back to try some other delights because the menu is packed full of amazing looking dishes.

We were seated in a booth that felt quite cramped for a business meeting. Next time, we'd likely request a more open, well-lit table. We ordered several dishes, but the Chilean sea bass was disappointing. It was dry, lacked the buttery texture it's known for, and was quite bland. We also requested a side of hot sauce, but that request was overlooked. To end the meal, we planned to order coffee and toffee instead of dessert. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, we were told the coffee machine had broken. Unfortunately, by then the server seemed eager to wrap things up and didn't really give us the opportunity to consider any other after-meal options. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and we can see why it's popular, but the food execution and service fell short of our expectations, especially for a business lunch. We hope these issues were just an off day, as we'd like to give it another chance.

The atmosphere was laid back and the ambiance was very conducive for a great date spot. The service was impeccable. Never had to wait on anything and the food came out in a timely manner. The food was just like the reviewer had said: the pancakes were delicious and had a lemony taste to them, bacon was just like I like it, crisp but firm with a smoky flavor, roasted potatoes were firm and roasted to perfection and the added sea salt gave them that just right taste that lingers with you, but the star of the show was the Scallion biscuits. They were done to perfection from the texture to the taste and when you added your jam and butter to them, everything went to another dimension. Definitely will be one of my new brunch spots.

We opted for; -Fresh scallion Biscuits -steak & eggs (soft scramble) -Caesar Salad We prefer to order and eat everything family style and the food did not disappoint. Biscuits are a must.
