I totally forgot to take pics of the food but I had their lobster, steak, braised pork, chicken nachos, tuna tar tar, and loads more. I just got so carried away in the flavors and vibes that I completely forgot to capture an image of the food which was delicately prepared with attention to detail. The service as over the top wit all of the staff checking on me and my friends repeatedly, telling us candid jokes and much more. I absolutely loved how big this space was too, there was over 100 people there both inside and outside. Now parking is a bit tricky as there is only street parking available. The valet also uses the street parking so when I tell you please use the street parking, do it. It's easy and plenty. I would recommend their steak and lobster.

The Cauliflower Koshary was exotic. It came with rice at the bottom and was a healthy filling vegetarian meal. I always appreciate when they go the extra mile to tell the ingredients to make sure I am ok with everything that is going into my meal. The presentation Ofcourse made me hungry instantly .... The side salad was good too. This time skipped the chocolate cake due to time constraints :(

Adventuring around the busy convention center lead us across Discovery Green to the Grove for lunch. Upon first walking in, it was as pretty as I thought it would be since admiring it from outside. We got the menus and honestly I was disappointed. For lunch, the cheapest items were around 20-30 dollars if you want a protein. The yelp page is full of great photos of good looking food. I got the cheeseburger which I wish I had done a size comparison. It was on the smaller size especially for 24. I guess that was due to the better meat. Though even with the cut, meh. I honestly wish they had more of the food back from the previous photos yelpers took. The sweet potato and kale taquitos had a better flavor and better value. The sauce was more along a marina-ish feel. Overall after going in and the current lunch menu, I won't be returning. The server was nice enough but not worth ignoring the mediocre overpriced food.

Came here right before the lunch rush and enjoyed my time here. We were one of the first to dine for Lunch that day so we didn't have a wait at all which is a plus. Service was amazing because there wasn't anyone there and most of the attention was on us. I ordered the strawberry salad and added the salmon and asked for the almonds or pecans to be removed as I have an allergy. The salad was delicious and it almost could have been a full bowl vs a plate but it was delicious.

First time at The Grove to celebrate the birthday lady. The service was great and the ambiance is really nice. I love how spacious the place is. Now, if you're vegetarian there are just not many options for you (us) on the menu which sucks. Thankfully for me I'm pescatarian sometimes (do we really need the labels?), so technically I could have indulged in a seafood entree. I ended up ordering the blue crab corn fritters and made that my meal along with that delicious ass bread! Y'all the bread and the butter is a treat. I'll go back just to order that and a beverage. I originally ordered a martini and it was an absolute no for me- it tasted like rubbing alcohol ahhh. Opted for a glass of wine instead. The margarita was good as well. Overall, The Grove was a good experience. They do give people celebrating their birthdays a free treat and I must say that the berries and cream dessert was delightful.

We walked in with no reservations. Four little girls were with us under the age of 10 and the restaurant staff made us feel very welcome. Such a good experience for them. Love the ambiance. Beautiful setting with the lighted figs plus the sprawling oaks outside. We had a lovely Prosecco to start with. The dirty martini was superb! The girls enjoyed the house milk rolls. And our server, Alcides, was so helpful! He immediately put in the littles' orders so their hamburgers would be ready first. The scallops were simply amazing! Caviar jalapeños olives yogurt fennel...absolutely perfected cooked. In fact, best scallops I've ever had! I ended this delicious meal with an Espresso martini - perfect!

Good food. Good table service. Good drink selection. There for a corporate dinner in early November this year. The high ceiling helps reduce the noise of a large open space. It would be 5 star if the hostess hadn't snapped at us over simple questions like asking for a menu that we needed to wait for our waitress who was really busy right now. The sarcasm that she would get to us when she possibly could wasn't lost on us. At most restaurants, the hostess seats you with a menu and this was odd.

Great restaurant. The pics in yelp of the restaurant don't do it justice. Really good food and service. Tried several dishes including the first time I've ever seen "fried" potato salad. While the potato salad was different it was actually pretty good. The food also went well with a great open concept restaurant that also felt quite airy with all of the windows that open to the park. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in Houston.

So, this is a place I will definitely have to revisit to give a complete review, however, this review would be based off of the charred wings and service, for the most part. We went here on a Wednesday night, so it was fairly empty. The set up of the restaurant was very intimate, which I liked. The lights were dimmed and the candles were lit. Unfortunately, we came to this place on a whim and I had already stuffed my face. So, my friend just ordered the wings, a drink, and a Corona. The wings definitely gave the appearance of tasty, but they were just average to me like they were missing a particular seasoning. It also gave the flavor that it may have been cooked alongside some pork, which I really wasn't a fan of. I kind of got the sense that since we ordered so little that the waiter was a tad in a rush with us. She bought the check before my friend was ready and while he still had the intent of ordering his last item, the beer. This may have been a one off experience. The rest of the food looked good and I've heard good things in the past, so I would be willing to visit again and give an updated review.

October 26, 2021 Came into town w/a friend from Galveston for the Van Gogh "immersive" art exhibit. But, first we needed to see the skull exhibit at Discovery Green. They were so cool. So, anytime we're at the green, we come have cocktails here! Sat at the bar and a few glasses of great wine. Beautiful day out too!

Loved the food and options here! The drinks, apps, and meals were innovative and unique! Loved the ginger margarita and the burrata. The service was prompt and friendly, and the space accommodate our rather large group very well! I will be back in Houston this winter and plan to return!

I might have just found one of my new favorite restaurants in Houston. What a great experience!…read more Recently, a good friend dined here and immediately called me to tell me how great it was. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. Once the album is in, they play it in it's entirety. The sound system was systeming and on top of the great company and food, we were totally vibing with the music. Customer service was amazing. Every staff member we came across was so friendly, especially our server. The menu here changes. There are some mainstays, but they like to change things up. Their website shows current menus daily. We were told that family style is the best way to experience this restaurant. I am one of those people that will always listen to the staff and go with their suggestions. Our group went through quite a bit of their menu from apps, entrees and desserts. I loved that our server and staff brought our food out one by one in what they thought was the best progression so we could take a culinary journey. We started off light with their popular Dilly Bread. Best bread I've had in awhile. Next was the Texas Tartare. It was my first ever tartare and it was delicious. We then moved on to Fingerlingin Good which was a crispy potato dish with chili crisp and mascarpone. It was potatoes elevated to the highest level and so so good. Next up was Beer Battered Sweet Tots. I didn't think sweet potatoes could be that good. Our first entree was a vegan dish called the Carroty Kid. I could seriously become a vegan if all dishes tasted like this. It was curried. A bowl of jasmine rice would've made it a complete meal. Next we tried another famous Nobie's dish called Nonno's Pasta. Handmade, perfectly cooked tagliatelle with a delicious bolognese. I wouldn't share this next time. Ok, I will, but it was that good. On to the heavier dishes. First up was the Jamon With Your Bad Self. This came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was favorite heavy entree. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. I will be back.

Houston has done it again! I'm going to be a little controversial here, but why is the food so much…read morebetter here than it is it Dallas? Had a 5:30pm resy, seated outside right away that Saturday evening--it was a full house 45 minutes later. You'd be a fool to skip the dilly bread--a complete fool! The rolls are pillowy and warm. I could eat the butter by the pint. The fingerlinging potato dish is also a must have...pretty small for $19 but tastes like heaven. Spicy! Zaddy was being a bit of a clutz that evening and knocked over my $20 mezcal cocktail, so what does he do? Orders me another one! (That's why he's "zaddy") ....kind of wish he hadn't...so wasn't worth the price tag. Skip it. The chicken dinner was definitely the winner--fresh, juicy breast, crispy skin...don't be cute, you won't finish it unless your party has at least 4 in it! The flies were ruthless! Very annoying! They were acting like the geekers that come bother you just outside your favorite fried chicken joint in south Dallas! Our waitress brought out a table fan so that made the experience a little more tolerable. The chocolate peanut butter pie tasted like a salt rock and the lemon chiffon pie had great flavor but not lemony enough for me. All in all this place is a bit pricey but truly a gem! Until next time, Nobie!

Is this the most overrated restaurant in Houston?…read more After being on my "To Try" list for an unacceptable amount of time, I finally made my way over to Nancy's Hustle. I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar with no reservation. I arrived about 30 minutes into open and there was already a wait list. I suggest getting there early or making a reservation if you're not a solo diner. The interior is nice and intimate, with low lighting that doesn't work well for photos but definitely for a cozy dinner. The set up and music reminded me a little bit of 93 Til due to the decor. I started with the duck dumplings and the Nancy cakes. I wasn't expecting it but they offer half orders which is great for a solo diner who wants to try multiple things. Both items were delicious. The dumplings had a nice savory sauce with some texture from the peanuts. These were great but probably my bottom of the list which is saying something. I would only say this because they reminded me a lot of the hot oil wontons from duck and bao so at that price point, you might as well get more. The Nancy cakes were pillowy and savory and made a great vessel for honey butter and roe. I even used a bit to dunk into the leftover dumpling sauce. I suggest eating these as soon as they hit your table. I was trying to savor my bites but the cakes benefit a lot from being nice and hot. It's not the most ground breaking dish in the world but it's done well and I would definitely call it a must order. I could have eating a full order of it alone. My main dishes is where my mind was blown. I went with the roast chicken and half order of the gem lettuce salad and fries. This might be the best roast chicken I've ever had in Houston. Chicken can be a hit or a miss because sometimes, there just isn't much flavor. This was absolutely not the case here. The chicken was juicy and seasoned to the core. It even heated up well as left overs without being dry. The chili sauce on the bottom was flavor intensified and as I swiped my chicken through the pools of sauce, I thought to myself "overrated where?!". The gem salad caught me by surprise. I'm not one to stay away from a salad at a restaurant because they typically do them better than you can make at home . Nancy's Hustle solidified this opinion. The salad was wonderfully briney and savory. The lettuce was crisp and covered in the herby shallot dressing that grabbed my taste buds. Topped with anchovies and pancetta for a nice salty touch. So so good. The fries were the perfect side, crisp and not too potatoey (yes this is a thing). I traded in the aoli for some ketchup because that's just my thing. I concluded this wonderful dining experience with a dessert. Buttermilk ice cream with cornflakes, black berries and honey butter cookie. This dessert was a lesson in balance. Every component was present , sweet, salty, crunchy, cool. Each bite had something new to offer and combined into a perfectly executed dessert. As a cocktail, I tried their tropical drink. I don't remember what it was called but I know I could have drank about 7 of those. This was a great dining experience. I think when things get popular, sometimes we feel the need to be contrarians with our experiences. That wasn't the case for me. Nancy's Hustle has earned its popularity and I'll definitely be back

First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. A little more sweetness and acidity would have helped brighten the dish and make it more memorable. The hummus, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. Both the red beet hummus and edamame hummus were flavorful and enjoyable. They paired well with the crisp flatbread and even served as a nice accompaniment to some of our less exciting entrées. For my meal, I ordered the marinated artichoke pizza, which unfortunately did not stand out. I had the same issue that I experienced during my previous visit: the crust was simply too thick and chewy. After a few slices, my jaw was genuinely getting tired from all the chewing. The pizza also could have benefited from more bacon and a more generous amount of sauce, as it came across a bit dry overall. The campanelle suffered from a similar problem. While I understand that simplicity was likely the goal, the dish was so understated that it ended up feeling bland. It tasted like a slightly elevated version of buttered pasta with just a hint of white wine. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it lacked the depth of flavor needed to make it memorable. On a much more positive note, the carrot cake pancakes were easily the star of the meal. I tend to gravitate toward savory breakfasts, but my sister was eager to try them, and I am so glad she did. These were not your typical pancakes. They were thick, fluffy, and incredibly soft in the center. With toppings like maple butter, maple cream, mascarpone whip, candied walnuts, and cardamom sugar, I expected the dish to be overwhelmingly sweet. Surprisingly, everything was balanced quite well. While I cannot imagine finishing an entire plate by myself, anyone with a sweet tooth would absolutely love them. Overall, this restaurant continues to impress me with its atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes, but the entrées I have tried have not lived up to the hype. If I were to return, I would happily order the hummus and carrot cake pancakes again, but I would probably skip the pizza and pasta in favor of trying something new.

The front hostess, Annabella, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel valued from the start. Our waiter was equally amazing and attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring we had a wonderful evening. We started with the deviled eggs and crab beignets, both of which were absolutely delicious. Their French onion soup was hearty. Drinks were fabulous too. For our meal, we ordered the mashed potatoes, cacio e pepe, pork schnitzel, blackened fish, miso fish, and burger, and every dish was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. The restaurant went above and beyond by surprising my mother-in-law with a birthday dessert (upon my request when I had originally booked it), which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration even more memorable. We also enjoyed the pecan ball and chocolate soufflé, and both were outstanding. Between the incredible food, impeccable service, and special attention to our celebration, State of Grace exceeded all expectations. Annabella, our waiter, and the entire staff made the evening feel truly special. Easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Houston, and we can't wait to return! I will be planning a girls night there soon!

Hollywood, va voom and metagorda all similar in taste to each other. The maison salad was delicious. Butter lettuce with the toppings and sauce was just enjoyable. The butter burger sliders were good. Just would like it thicker as it's too much bun. The cookie on the way out was so awesome, I almost went back in to grab another. Gingerbread I think. Avery was a wonderful bartender and kept up with entertaining conversations and was attentive to all service needs. Tried the g4 tequila reposado and it was very easy drinking.

I know. "Fine dining" and burgers? But that's what I wanted. I searched the web and found the Chefs Table in Vintage Park, and it wasn't too far from us here in The Woodlands, so we decided to make reservations and head there. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We will definitely be back to try some other delights because the menu is packed full of amazing looking dishes.
