We had a date night at Bludorn and had a great time. The restaurant is really beautiful, adorned with art and tasteful finishes. The kitchen is open, so you can get a peek of the action. For cocktails, my husband got the "1929 Boulevardier", and I chose the "sweet talker." Both were delicious! You are also served bread with a compound butter (our's was with dill). We started with some oysters; our favorite was the smoked one. We also split a chilled corn soup with blue crab that was good. For mains, my husband got the smoked pork chop, and I got the dry aged duck. I preferred the duck between the two, but I am also a sucker for sweet/savory combos. I loved the sweeter almost caramel-like gravy with the duck leg confit, the liver mousse with candied pecans and fluffy rice with foie gras jus and raisins. The only flaw was the skin of the duck breast could have been crispier. At this price point, it really should be perfection. A sommelier helped us pick a wine for our entree, which I liked, but we couldn't help but wonder if we were upsold to more of a crowd pleaser choice as opposed to a perfect match for our dishes. For dessert we split the carrot cake baked Alaska. It was well executed, and you can tell how time intensive it must have been to make this dish with all its layers. It was a little too sweet for me and although I do love carrot cake, I didn't think it was the best pairing with the merengue. My husband ordered the stinger as a dessert cocktail, and it was reminiscent of a strong Andes mint in cocktail form. My favorite parts of dinner were the ambiance and the first two cocktails, and if I could give them a 4.5 rating, I would. But at this price point, which is Michelin star pricing, I really expect to be floored by everything. If I were to come back, I would probably just go for the drinks at their bar.

Very lovely restaurant. Came during restaurant weeks. They don't have a lot of seafood options on the regular menu so I went with the restaurants weeks menu. As expected in most restaurants they don't serve wild caught fish...the salmon was not my fave but it was well prepared. We ordered creamer spinach. The bread that come with the table which are Parker rolls excellent! They brought over celebratory wine as it was my friends birthday. I ordered the chocolate cake and a decaf coffee to go with very very good. Our waiter was good and helpful amd provided useful recommendations for the menu. I found it cute that they give you a key to put up your leftovers at the end. Overall a good experience and a place i would come back to.

Overall, a good special occasion restaurant in Houston (most tables we saw were 2-4 people). Satisfied with our meal, everything was pretty solid. Ordered: - Laissez Faire - King Ora Salmon Tartare - Exactly what I expected. Salmon was good and flavors complimented each other well. - Ravioli - We did the large order and it came with 8 ravioli. It gave me the vibes of Texas BBQ meets ravioli. I wish we had a few more fig pieces, I liked it better when the ravioli bite had a piece of fig with it. - Dry Aged Duck - We did a half order and I think that was the perfect amount without being too flavor fatigue (some pieces of the pieces were a bit fattier). I didn't eat it with the liver moouse since I felt like it was already pretty rich on its own. I did like the foie gras jus with the duck. - Roasted Brassicas - The broccolini and cauliflower helps bring a little bit of freshness between each bite to the duck. We were too fully so we didn't order an actual dessert but definitely interested in trying the baked alaska.

Went for Brunch- Sat outside in the blistering heat. Family of four, didnt want to wait , just wanted to eat! Got here on a sunny July day- about 11 am. Patio has some fans blowing the hot air around. Rando mud dauber hornets flying around. Seated and waited on by Samuel- super nice guy. Ordered pancakes , steak and eggs and the crabcakes. Steak and eggs- was 8/10 Good flavor. Medium. But meat was a tad chewy Crabcakes- great flavour, light, delicious 9/10 Pancakes- fluffy, light, w good texture 9/10 Service 10/10. Sam was the man Helpful, quick, resourceful.

Had a decent time at the Michelin Recommended restaurant, Bludorn. Located in Montrose neighborhood, parking is valet for $8 or if you're lucky and want to drive around for street parking, you have that option too. Had reservations for 8PM, so I arrived 30 minutes early to just settle in with a drink. Sat at the bar for the first half and service was quick and friendly. They had specialty cocktails and I settled with their "Baby Breeze" gin based that was refreshing and went down so easily dangerous. Once my party arrived, we were seated at our table for 10 people. Service again was very attentive, but it seemed we were being rushed after finishing our items. While we appreciated the cleanliness, it did feel overbearing and my friend had silverware dropped on him. Their Spring 2026 menu is currently being served and for my meal, I kept it simple and went with medium rare 12oz Prime NY Strip that came with a twice baked potato and choice of sauce, I chose bordelaise. For the price range, I would've thought it be savory and warm, it arrived but was underwhelming. Had minimal flavor and felt the baked potato was better. And the Bludorn rolls were much welcomed and enjoyable with their fluffy and slightly sweet taste. My friend ordered the Baked Alaska, and while the experience (lighting it on fire) was enjoyable, biting into the the dessert caused for leaving the cake unfinished, it tasted burned because the fire wasn't put out in timely manner. Friend shared that their brunch experience was much better than our dinner experience and I am willing to give it another chance for that reason, but if this is a Michelin recommended place, I'd think it would be consistent in it's dishes being enjoyable every time.

Bludorn was such an amazing dining experience! The restaurant has such a sophisticated and elevated atmosphere. It definitely feels like the perfect place for a special occasion, date night, or whenever you're looking for a more upscale dining experience. The food was absolutely incredible, and the drinks were just as impressive! We started off with the smoked and dressed oysters. I love oysters and these were so fresh and delicate. We also had the octopus for an appetizer and this was probably the best octopus I have ever tried at a restaurant. For main course I had the blue cheese ravioli ribs and the flavors really complimented one another with the fig. We also had the Duck dish and it was excellent. Apparently these sell so fast that people call ahead of time to reserve! Our wait staff was exceptional and very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful without being overbearing. I ended up ordering based on several of their recommendations, and they did not steer me wrong! Everything they suggested was delicious. I will definitely come back to Bludorn!

Came here for my wife's birthday. Made the reservation using Resy/Opentable indicating occasion, and when we arrived, there was no indication from staff that they were aware. We weren't drinking so we did mocktails. Their selection is solid. I recommend the Million Dollar Baby and the New Madness. For the oysters, we did 2 of each: fried, smoked and roasted. I would low key just come back for oysters next time. They were that damn good. I was let down by the dry-aged burger. Even though I ordered the burger as medium, it was pretty dry. I've had better burgers from joints around town. Not worth $24. The Chicken entree was an absolute let down. I won't even elaborate. Some of our favorite entrees were the carrot soup and crab rice. Both were out of this world. For me the food was 3/5, service (aside from staff forgetting occasion of visit) 5/5, value 3/5. Also valet parking is $8. I'm still undecided if I'll be back. Need to recover from spending $275 on a single dinner. Ouch.

Lovveeee anything Bludorn. Chose to revisit Bludorn for the start of my bday weekend and it did not disappoint. Service - top notch. Best service in Houston hands down. Food - you really can't go wrong with anything you order here. This time the highlights were definitely the duck and the rice. I could have eaten the rice as a meal and been very happy. Drinks - wine and cocktails 10/10 Parking - you might get lucky w self parking in the back of the restaurant otherwise it's valet for $8 right now. Make a reservation and wear something nice. Definitely a must try in Houston for an upscale experience.

heard so many great things about bludorn, so i decided to come here to celebrate my friend finishing the bar and they absolutely outdid themselves! we received complimentary champagne, a little fried ravioli starter, and a small dessert. the service really made the celebration feel special, so highly recommend coming here for a special occasion! came here for houston restaurant week because that's what august is all about!! red oak lettuce - melon, pantale cheese, candied walnuts, champagne vinaigrette confit porchetta - fingerling potatoes, salsa verde, fennel, peach pavlova - lemon curd, verbena chantilly, fresh raspberries everything was absolutely delicious, and i'd definitely come back to try some of their other menu items! parking can be a little tricky. they offer valet for $8. there's some street parking directly across from the restaurant and on the street behind it. the neighborhood directly in front of the restaurant has lots of no parking signs lols

Came here for brunch and service was friendly and on point. I didn't have a reservation and they were able to accommodate with bar seating with full access to menu. Scallion Cheddar biscuits- savory buttery perfection. Would order again 110% Oysters- very fresh. Smoked was amazing. Octopus- another show stopper with tender well charred octopus bites. They were also able to slice it for easier sharing. Steak and Eggs- wasn't amazed but a staple classic. Potatoes are covered in a sauce reminiscent of papas bravas dish. blueberry pancakes- very thick and huge portion. Wasn't bad but wasn't amazing. Satisfied my sweet craving

I decided to try somewhere new on my foodie list for an early 30th birthday with my family and Bludorn was the perfect pick! Our waiter Dylan was phenomenal!! We began the night with a complimentary celebratory champagne toast. We each ordered cocktails. I had the Stirred Strawberry Margarita! We also ended the night with Grasshoppers and Carajillos. The menu we had is their Spring 2026 menu. We began with oysters and ordered them all types of ways. I ordered the Short Rib Ravioli. My mom ordered the Crab Rice. My dad ordered the Dry-Aged Duck. My husband ordered the Hanger Steak with a twice baked potato. The sides we ordered were Creamed Spinach and Crispy Potato Wedges. For dessert we ordered the Baked Alaska with carrot cake ice cream and cream cheese, it was amazing! I can't wait to go back! The attention to detail is amazing! The restaurant can be a little loud when it's super busy so keep that in mind if you're looking for something a little quieter. The building itself is really cute inside! Thank you for everything Bludorn!

I hadn't known that they were open for a Sunday brunch, so we excitedly accepted the idea to celebrated my brother's birthday here. The valet upfront is the only lot around, so be prepared to hand over $8 for the pleasure. The interior is remarkably cozy and approachable for a Michelin honoree restaurant, there's a touchable and lived in feel to the walls and furniture that I appreciated as we visited with little ones on a cold Sunday morning. The food is layered and tasty in lots of subtle ways. Potato wedges we got for our 3yo were crispy enough even as we snacked on them waiting for our main course. Short rib ravioli soaked up all the smoky good flavor and was almost like brisket in that sense. Some foods were just good, the pancake, for as stunning as it looks, was a more stodgy than I'd want it to be. The steak n eggs had a few too many unrendered or untrimmed pieces of fat for a place like this. My main gripe was our service. Our waiter was splendid when he was around, but we just saw way too little of him. I would've had 2, 3, even 4 mixed drinks since we were celebrating. we just never got the chance to order them, our guy just wasn't interested in our large table and it kinda sucked. I'm hoping this was just an us thing, because the place wasn't all that busy and besides one little one, we are not nearly a rowdy bunch on our worst days. I'd still come back for a swing at dinner, but I'm not nearly as motivated to do so after this initial visit unfortunately.

We went for a special event in the private room upstairs and everything was perfection! The room was great for a private party. The service team was superb. They went above and beyond for any allergies and items I don't eat (shellfish and pork products)...the dessert I selected used a pork product in the gelatin which they knew when I was ordering so I selected the other option. When they brought out the dessert, they brought me what I originally wanted and said there is no pork in it. I was looking to see how mine was different from others and another service person came up to show me that the mousse inside of mine was a little different than the others because they were able to make it without the pork gelatin for me. This level of service is so rare. Thank you!!!

Okay, Nancy's Hustle is officially a HIDDEN GEM!…read more I chose this place for dinner based on a recommendation, and it absolutely did not disappoint. This was the dinner portion of a first date, and the vibe was PERFECT. First things first--Nancy's Hustle is kind of tucked away, so you need to know where you're going. Map yourself there and pay attention because you could easily pass right by it. But once I opened that door... YES! It's a small, intimate restaurant with low lighting, a bar, table seating and a patio. We arrived before the patio opened at 7:00, which was perfectly fine with me because I actually prefer sitting at the bar. The whole space just had that cozy, intimate, grown-folks-date-night feel without trying too hard. We started with cocktails. My date ordered one of their summer cocktails--I cannot remember the name to save my life --but it was a beautiful yellow drink served with a pineapple slice, and it was GOOD! I stuck with my favorite, a classic Long Island, and they made it perfectly. Now let's talk about this FOOD! We tried the Parmesan and Pancetta Croquettes, and they were delicious. Crispy on the outside and incredibly soft, creamy, savory and cheesy inside, with shredded Parmesan across the top. Even the presentation was beautiful. I ordered the cheeseburger, and I almost NEVER get excited about somebody changing up a burger, but this one came on an English muffin and IT WORKED! The fresh beef smash burger was cooked perfectly. I left off the pickles, aioli and onions, but otherwise I wouldn't have changed a thing. It was honestly one of the best-prepared burgers I've had in a while. Then, halfway through my burger, I discovered they had French fries. How did I miss the fries?! So of course I ordered them late, and I'm glad I did. Fresh, hand-cut potatoes, perfectly cooked, and served with a dipping sauce that I cannot identify--but whatever was in that little cup needs to keep happening because it was AMAZING. From the cocktails to the food to the atmosphere, Nancy's Hustle was exactly what I wanted for a first-date dinner: intimate, relaxed, interesting and GOOD. Definitely one of those places that makes you say, "How have I never been here before?" Nancy's Hustle, I WILL be back.

I opted for the high top right by the kitchen, and honestly, great choice -- it smelled amazing. Most people prefer not to sit by the kitchen with all the foot traffic but I didn't mind it at all. Nobie's is a house that's been transformed into a restaurant. One of the bartenders told me it's a 104-year-old house, and the whole place has very "house party" vibes in the best way. The music is LOUD. And it gets progressively louder as the night goes on, so if that's not your vibe, keep that in mind. But I was very into it. Lil Flip was playing when I walked in and it took me back to high school house parties. On shuffle were more throwbacks and classics: Ludacris and "Notorious Thugs" by Biggie. The chairs, however, were not my favorite. They're low-backed and kind of cage-like, with only a thin cushion, so they aren't exactly the most comfortable for a long meal. Started with a cocktail: the Remolacha del Corazón -- beet tequila, mezcal, watermelon (house-made syrup), lime and a tajín rim. You can hardly taste the mezcal, which I'm assuming is the point. I like mezcal so it would have been nice to taste it but the beet tequila is definitely the star, with the watermelon and lime adding a nice balance. Appetizer: Don't Worry, Brie Happy ($18). Brie, local honey, smoked grapes, toast. There was basically no local honey on my plate, but those smoked grapes?! They're topped with flaky salt while they're still hot and OMG!! The combination of warm, smoky, sweet and salty was fantastic. My only complaint was the amount of toast. There was a little too much toast for the amount of brie and grapes, so the ratios felt slightly off. Main course: Jamón With Your Bad Self ($45). Ibérico secreto pork steak, tonnato, shaved Brussels sprouts, salsa verde and almonds. I'm particular about pork, so I was taking a bit of a chance here, but this dish sounded too interesting to pass up. The pork steak was cooked perfectly and had some wonderfully crispy pieces around the edges. The tonnato underneath the pork was really good. It almost reminded me of a Caesar dressing and added this rich, savory element to the dish. The shaved Brussels sprouts were great, too, especially with the almonds and Parmesan. Everything worked really well together. Dessert: Olive Oil Cake. A house staple, and for good reason. A lovely way to end the meal. Overall, Nobie's has a really fun, unpretentious energy. Between the old-house setting, loud music and memorable dishes, it feels like somewhere you go to hang out as much as you go to eat. Just know what you're getting into with the volume and the seating -- this is not exactly a quiet, polished fine-dining experience, and that's kind of the charm.

Octopus tends to be quite chewy, but I think they cooked it perfectly. Our server was prompt in checking in on us, refilling our drinks, and clearing used dishes/utensils which I really appreciated. We went around 6 p.m. on a weekday, and they had a steady flow of business. It's a small restaurant with a small parking lot, but they do have an additional lot across the street. We were greeted right away and seated immediately. Our waiter was also tending the bar. He was incredibly friendly and working hard, but because he seemed to be juggling so much on his own, service was on the slower side. For the appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Fried Oysters & Brussels, and I got the redfish for my entrée. The Brussels sprouts were flash-fried perfectly, and I loved the sweetness of the chili honey glaze. The oysters had a nice crispy coating, but I found them to be a little bland. The redfish, though, was absolutely the star of the meal. I cleaned my plate. It was served with Hoppin' John and a lemon butter sauce. I had never heard of Hoppin' John before, but it's essentially a Southern rice-and-bean dish, and paired with that lemon butter, it was so flavorful. It complemented the fish perfectly.
