Great service - fun little spot. Nice wine list. Goat cheese app was yummy - did have a tad of a kick. Chicken - both the low country and the kids tenders - were fantastic.

Met up with a friend for dinner, and this was on both of our lists to try. The exterior is very inviting. We visited on a Friday night and it was fairly busy with reservations (which we didn't have). Luckily, there are actually two separate buildings on the same plot, and we basically sat in the overflow, which was more than fine. We were happy they were able to accommodate us Everything from the staff, the decor, the menu, the food/drinks, it all felt like an elevated dining experience. Nothing too formal or stuffy, just higher quality across the board The menu offers a variety of delectable small plates, entrees, cocktails, wine, etc. everything sounded, looked, and tastes incredible. The portions were hearty, plated elegantly, and again, hit the spot in terms of flavors Because this is slightly more elevated, the prices also reflect this somewhat. It's not unaffordable, but you pay for quality Some tips: There is a small lot next to them, but you can always find some street parking. If you are a fan of seafood, there are quite a variety of solid options to choose from. The name actually comes from the chef's appreciate for and choice to use locally and organic components from the "fields" (vegetables, poultry, beef, etc. and the seafood has a gulf emphasis ("tides") Cheers!!

The restaurant is so cute! It's definitely a neighborhood favorite from the customer service, environment and food quality. I appreciate the options for both indoor and outdoor seating. The aesthetics of the restaurant give date, brunch and casual dinner. I was there for Sunday brunch and enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Oh my goodness! It was seasoned to perfection and the grits were so creamy. That's usually my problem with shrimp and grits, the grits aren't usually creamy. Also, there's usually roux that overpowers. In this case...*chef's kiss*. My meal was 9 out of 10. Although I enjoy fried okra, I could have done without it on my dog. My aunt had the chicken and sausage gumbo. She rated it as a 7 out of 10. Our friend had the pork belly hash. Her rating was 7 out of 10. It was very spicy and the spice wouldn't allow her to enjoy the flavors and textures of the dish. John who was our main server made sure we were well taken care of without being too overbearing. His assistant Aaron was just as amazing and made sure our beverages were refilled and cleared the table as needed. Overall, I will definitely be back.

F&T is a small quaint restaurant on E 11th in the Heights. Excellent service from Sam our server and was not a crowded lunch. I was able to have a good conversation with my lunch partner. My oyster Caesar salad on the menu looked good and the chipotle flavored dressing didn't bring any alarms until my first bite. One must tolerate very spicy food to tolerate this salad as I found out. I could not eat this and I substituted with a regular Caesar with ranch dressing. Maybe the menu should say hold on to your hats!! The food now was excellent. They have a parking lot next to the restaurant that is quite large. They have a nice bar with a tv ( sports were on). Could be a good happy hour place if you live close.

Field & Tides is still amongst the best Houston has to offer. Being new to the city, I discovered it along with my best friend in 2021 shortly after I moved here. On that first visit we had oysters & crispy Brussels, tuna poke, crab dip, and delicious cocktails. I've since been many times solo to enjoy an oyster Caesar, delicious redfish, and a manhattan - always superb. I tried to take my bff in August of 2025 but we arrived to find a gas leak had temporarily closed the restaurant. I was finally able to get my friend back in town for dinner here in Dec 2025 and it was nothing short of AMAZING. Once again we had oysters & crispy Brussels, tuna poke, but got to try the fried pimento cheese balls, duck ragu, scallops with crab & shrimp risotto. Everything was divine. The service is always stellar, from the hostess to the bar to the wait staff. Whether I've come during the weekday for lunch or a weekend dinner, an excellent, satisfying dining experience is guaranteed.

Yes the food was great, the service had some great insight to the meals that are made and what goes into the dishes. The dessert was interesting, the strawberry with basil dripped over with like some short bread cookies. I liked the quaint size of the place and outside seating was available as well.

I had never been to Field and Tides before but what a cute spot. I could tell a lot of people from the neighborhood make it a frequent stop. A friend and I sat outside and had some cocktails (espresso martinis and ranch waters, both delicious). Both a fan of deviled eggs we shared some of those before dinner. I had the hanger steak sub broccolini for the potatoes and my friend had the special which was soft shell crab. Both items were enjoyable and the service was a little on the slow side but very helpful and kind. I can see myself going back and sitting outside for drinks or for dinner

    Indoor setting

We recently hosted a couples wedding shower here, and it could not have been a more perfect setting. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed--exactly what you want for a celebration where people can mingle, laugh, and enjoy the moment together. The service truly stood out. Our servers, John, James, and Asia, were attentive, friendly, and seemed to anticipate what guests needed before we even had to ask. Justin, the manager, was also wonderful and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the event, which allowed us to relax and simply enjoy the celebration. The food was outstanding across the board, but the Korean Chicken Sliders were the star of the show--several guests were still talking about them by the end of the night. The cocktails were equally impressive and beautifully made. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent cocktails, and a warm, attentive team for a special gathering, this spot delivers in every way.

A solid first experience at Field and Tides - they have two buildings next to each other and both are pretty small and well decorated. Service was really good. Their cocktail list was good and I enjoyed the Angry Gunsel (spicy marg). The Pulpo appetizer came with potatoes and was really nice - definitely large enough to share! I got the Bouillabaisse which is their Wednesday special and it was really filling and great serving size. The Beef Stroganoff looked awesome too. The Tres Leches for dessert was kinda small but was amazing - hint of cinnamon made it even better. Overall I'd recommend coming but it is quite pricey. Will give them 4 stars bc not in a rush to come back but still was good.

My first time here and it was memorable in all the best ways. Highly recommend for a perfect dining experience. Thank you to my server, Dalton, for being so kind and accommodating. I ordered from the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. I was amazed at the large serving size. Not typical with other restaurants' HRW menu items. I also ordered the beets from the regular menu. Each food item was delectable. For real. My glass of Cabernet Sauvignon was excellent as well. I cannot wait to go back.

Small, independent restaurant located in The Heights of Houston, off 11th Street, offers quiet background music, good service, food, and drinks. Added parking is across the side street. The chocolate cake was superb!

Good enough. Nothing to complain about but nothing that really wowed me or set me up for a craving. It was good. The salad looked interesting with the added shrimp. The atmosphere was conducive to conversation.

We didn't have reservations so were escorted to the second dining area - which was lovely. The waitress was very attentive throughout the night & very pleasant. While this quaint little side building had a bar, our espresso martinis were brought from the main building. We assumed that bartender handle more complicated, mixed drinks. It was served promptly so we didn't experience any delay with the set up. And these were hands down the best espresso martini's I've had in Houston (hint, no Kailua used - deep and rich espresso taste with luxurious amount of foam). Tuna tartar was a wonderful starter & well seasoned though I would have appreciated a splash of acidity. Chicken piccata was moist and tender but, did not knock my socks off. Very respectable southern taste just no wow factor. I preferred the fish dish with risotto a better. The fish wasn't battered and while the sauces appeared to be very similar base, the sauce used on the fish was a bit more lemony - which I preferred. For dessert, we got the chocolate cake. It was good but, served a little too chilled. Brining it to room temperature would have made it a little more luxurious and moist. All in all a lovely night with solid food. I would definitely go back.

He ended up being one of the best aspects of our experience that evening. Our waitress wasn't nearly as good. We started by asking for ice in the water from the waitress since they just give you room temp water. After 10 mins of seeing her serve other tables and ignoring our request, we then figured the water boy would make it happen...and sure enough he did. We then ordered the grilled oysters, which are very lightly cooked, almost seemingly steamed more than anything, but they were very good regardless of the cooking method with the sauces and garnishes and pickle juice added. Next up was ordering the entrees. The menu here is a little strange with numerous vegan choices with strange titles and only a few items with protein. To top it off, there are not many choices period. The waitress explained that the left side is basically the apps, and the right side is basically the entrees. I knew I wanted to try the wagyu flat iron steak which is priced pretty high here, compared to other wagyu flat irons I've had at other restaurants across the US. We couldn't really decide on a 2nd main dish then the waitress mentioned the off the menu special which was a scallop pasta so we picked that thinking it sounded delicious. The entrees come out about 15 mins later, and we take our first bites and we both thought, oh no, if we share the other person across from me isn't going to like this dish because it's too salty. I tried the steak first and noticed the sauce being extra salty, then I tried the pasta and the pasta was way worse, but the scallops didn't seem to be affected. We immediately told the waitress the next time she stopped by....and she just said okay, and walked away. I figured she would go get the manager....but nope...she just kept on serving other tables. At this point we thought to ourselves only the oyster app was decent.....and no reason to look at the dessert menu since we had already spent over $100 on food we could hardly eat. Sure enough, the waitress stops by a 2nd time and asks if we'd like to see the dessert menu. I couldn't leave fast enough and told her we'll skip. Needless to say we both left hungry as the portions were not only not edible, but also fairly small. The water boy also stopped by and offered to turn on the heater if we get cold. Boy, I wish he was our waiter instead. For a supposedly Michelin-starred restaurant, I feel they really got this one wrong.

Our party's arrival ran late, and they were still able to accommodate us. This was greatly appreciated. However I thought the music was a little too loud, because I could not hear my party across the table. We finally determined we were sitting right under a speaker. Prior to this a manager did ask if we were comfortable at our table, due to my mobility issues. If mobility impaired it's best to sit on the main level, especially if the restroom is needed. Otherwise, there are about 4-5 steps, to go through the kitchen. The kitchen is a huge process!!! I was impressed!Service was pretty good. They were knowledgeable, and got our orders correct. At times I felt our questions were answered a bit snippy, but it didn't persist. My party did feel a bit rushed by staff asking to pick up plates in the middle of our meal. This was a bit disruptive, because I would move plates to the edge if I want them removed. The food was really good. The cons for me is the 1% cutlery charge to help tip the kitchen staff, in addition to the 20% regular tip. They apparently do this to not raise menu prices. It's not a make or break thing, I've never seen it before nor was I made aware of it. It might be on the menu somewhere...idk. Additionally, valet parking is available for a fee. Most restaurants offer a birthday dessert, but this one did not. I would return to enjoy a few menu items like the queso, G & G Salad, and the oysters! These were really good. So for me, it really depends on what one wants to experience.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially during brunch with all the natural lighting coming through the indoor space. Such a lovely atmosphere with plants surrounding us. The food was amazing, and sharing appetizers was the perfect way to try a few different things. They also have a huge wine selection, which I really enjoyed. I tried their pizza paired with wine, and honestly, it was the perfect combination. The service was also excellent, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made the experience even better without feeling rushed. They even asked if we wanted to help to get our picture taken, that was so sweet of them.

I arrived about an hour before closing, expecting it to be quiet, but at 9:00 p.m. it was still bustling with energy, laughter, and that soft glow that makes everything feel a little more special. I ordered the pork chop and swapped the carrots for broccolini. The pork chop had a beautiful char and was full of flavor--slightly undercooked, yes, but still delicious enough to carry the whole meal. I do wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu, though... it would have made it perfect. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, and sadly, they missed the mark this time. Dry and bitter, nothing like the saucy, flavorful version I've had before--maybe just the late hour catching up with the kitchen. But even so, that pork chop... it lingered in the best way. And sometimes, that's all you need.
