I've been here a few times before, and being a sucker for second chances, I wanted to see if things had improved from my last visit, thankfully, they have. Feels good when an establishment takes pride in their customer's feedback and puts a plan into action. Honestly, part of me was hoping that last time was just a fluke or an off day. This time around, everything from the service to the food was great. We had a 12:30 Sunday reservation for two and opted to sit inside this time. We ordered the cast-iron cornbread, chargrilled oysters, and a cup of gumbo each to start. For entrées, I had the Gulf Fish, while my husband went with the crawfish Florentine. Everything came out beautifully timed, almost like a perfectly paced three-course meal, which obviously made the whole experience feel elevated and relaxed. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. I also tried the prickly pear aid (non-alcoholic), and it was super refreshing, definitely worth ordering if you like a little tartness to cleanse your palate. Overall, this visit felt like a completely different experience than last time. It delivered the elevated experience a place like Eunice promises and what I was used to originally. I visited yesterday with a few friends for the first time. The restaurant itself was very impressive and clean, well decorated, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was disappointing due to both the service and the food quality. Our server was very slow throughout the evening. After ordering cocktails, it took approximately 20 minutes for them to arrive. We then ordered our meals... I had the burger and fries, while my girlfriend ordered the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were noticeably over salted. After finishing our meals, we waited an additional 15-20 minutes just to receive a dessert menu. Eventually, we decided not to wait any longer and went to Dessert Gallery down the street instead. While the atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant were excellent, the slow service and food issues negatively impacted the experience. Based on this visit, I would likely not return. read more

My wife and I had dinner here last night. It's awesome to find another gem in Houston; this restaurant certainly fits that bill. The restaurant is beautiful. Airy, elegant but with a nice rustic feel. The service was great. All the food we had was good to excellent. The presentation is also very nicely done. We had: Chargrilled Oysters (5/5) - Maybe the best version of this dish I've had. A nice touch is the side of toasted saltine crackers. Cornbread (4/5) - The flavors were really good. The bread did fall apart a bit, needs a bit better binder. Crawfish Etoufee (5/5) - Unlike other etoufee's I've had. Think of this more like a very tasty Cajun pasta dish. Delicious (a bit pricey for a pasta dish though). Grilled Filet Migon (4/5) - A bit salty for my palate but flavorful meat that was well cooked. Comes on a bed of tasty mased potatoes. I am absolutely FLOORED. First of all, the setting is clean, well lit and beautifully decorated. Together with such a friendly wait staff, the table was literally set for the food to make or break my experience. What came next left my belly happy and soul satiated. First we ordered appetizers: oysters, dan dan shrimp, Peruvian scallops and corn bread. The fish was great, with the scallops my favorite of the three. The corn bread was DIVINE. Whatever you do- ORDER THE CORNBREAD. For entrees we ordered the shrimp & grits and the lamb special. WOW these are protein based entrees with a pasta base and the flavors were FANTASTIC. I still dream about the lamb special- just incredible. And since we were celebrating my friend's birthday, we could not leave without trying the chocolate torte and bread pudding. I am a SUCKER for bread pudding and it did NOT disappoint. At first glance, the prices look like they can be on the higher end of the scale, but upon having my first bite of every dish, I instantly knew I was getting what I paid for and THEN some. I don't think I will ever go back to Houston and NOT stop by here, especially given how knowledgeable and welcoming the staff was. There's valet parking as well. I've been here three times. The first time I would've given 3.5 for lunch. Each time I've gone after deserved five stars for dinner. The specialty oysters are wonderful. I haven't eaten oysters for ten years but these were fresh and good. The cornbread is the best I've had. The broccolini, beet salad, and verde greens are good. I didn't like the brussel sprouts. Shrimp and grits, duck, etouffee( when they have crawfish) are all fun eats. The red snapper grilled fish (gulf fish) was good but after a while the flavor was overwhelming. Gumbo is good but not spectacular. Service has always been very friendly and efficient. And the interior is beautiful. Validated parking at the structure right next to it. I read a review of this place, and was really looking forward to the Gumbo. I was left disappointed. I ordered the Verde Greens to start. Even though the salad was well dressed, it just tasted like wet lettuce. It was bland and lacked flavor. It looked incredible though! I ordered the large Gumbo. The serving size was larger than a cup, but it would never qualify as a large size of Gumbo at any Gumbo restaurant. It wasn't a bad soup, but there was nothing special about it. It just tasted like every other Gumbo I have ever had. The brisket was a nice touch. It didn't really add flavor, just texture. The restaurant itself is beautiful! Very nice decor with a relaxing vibe. The outside dining area looked nice as well. Think garden party. They have complimentary valet parking as well. The service was great. I ended up ordering the kids shrimp since the recipe for the shrimp etouffee had changed. I noticed other recent photos had a different pasta than older photos. I really wanted to try the green veggie pasta but it was no longer available. Not to mention etouffee is served over rice whether reinvented or elevated calling a shrimp and pasta dish etouffee is not what a true Cajun wants to see! Overall, I enjoyed the dining experience but my real thoughts are a 3.8 score when all considered. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. However, I must say I'm a little confused on trying to understand the Cajun/Creole label when describing the cuisine. The food is very good but perhaps not a great value when considering the price. We tried several dishes, Roasted Duck which I'd give a 3, Herb Roasted Chicken is a strong 4, the Cornbread is a 5, and the Beet Salad was a 3. As I rolled up to the restaurant there was a choice between going right towards valet or left to the parking garage. I generally avoid valet so I turn left and asked the guy about parking for the restaurant. I take the ticket and drive up to the fourth floor already in a bit of a mood that I'm going to have to pay for parking. Oddly no one mentioned the validated parking, but I saw a little ticket sitting on the host stand and grabbed it. We didn't have a reservation, but we were told we could have a table assuming we'd be done by about one as they needed it for a group later this afternoon. Seemed a bit odd as the restaurant was half empty but whatever. We started with two appetizers, because the person taking me to lunch suggested it I just went along for the ride. We had the Dan Dan shrimp and the cornbread. Both were delicious choices. If I was only going to get one, I would suggest a cornbread as it's easy enough to share among even four people. Great flavor with just a little bit of sweetness to it and a large block of butter on top. The Dan Dan shrimp were tasty, but a little too much breading which overwhelmed the shrimp flavor. I would have like this dish spicier or just more flavorful in general. Still solid though. We eventually move on to the main course. We're this point however I probably could have just left satisfied with what I've already eaten. I had the shrimp and grits. Delightful. Big tasty shrimp. I think some sausage in there as well. The grits and the sauce were great. I had to keep the dish when the waiter tried to take it away so I can mop it up with some cornbread as a finishing bite. The food here really was quite delicious. The small things that keep this place from being a five: Why not tell me that I can get my parking validated? Why make a deal about having to be done by a certain time but then not even enforcing it? When we left the restaurant it was still half empty. $60 a person when not drinking, even though it was a lot of food, is a bit much for lunch. I came here a few times soon after it opened and recently returned for a large party. It was much better than I remember. The back room was a good choice for an event dinner. The restaurant looked done up for the holiday and all service aspects were positive. It was very quiet in the bar and dining room. Parking was easy with free self parking and valet available. Beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere and great vibes as well as great variety of Cajun food selection. My waiter Timothy was also very kind and attentive. I got the passion fruit spicy margarita with gulf fish which was very good. The only minor thing is it took a bit for food to come out and the fish needed some more salt and pepper for the flavor. July 2025 - My sister brought me for brunch to celebrate my birthday. Service - amazing from the hostess to our server. Drinks - cocktails were great. I tried the sang de l'orange and ordered a French 75 but with tequila. Food we started off with the oysters & the Cajun duck poppers (basically elevated jalepeno poppers). Dined here with family for Thanksgiving holiday and it was a lovely time. Our waiter was amazing and funny and matched our lively energy. We ordered several different things from the menu and everything was plated beautifully. The crab and lobster oysters were filling and unique. We had a multitude of cocktails to try like the espresso martini, an assortment of wines, etc there was dan dan shrimp and broccolini and brussel sprouts as our appetizers. Friday lunch, was very busy and only bar seating was available at 1pm. I would suggest a reservation. Service was good and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Parking is valet or you have to park in the parking garage, they will validate your parking. Be warned the parking is on the 3rd level or higher, there is an elevator to take you to the ground floor. Cast Iron Cornbread, $15: Enough for 4 or 5 people to share a slice. Or for 2 people to have a large portion. It was sweet and had a nice crispy edge. Very solid cornbread, I would rank this in a top 10 cornbread I have had. That being said, it's still just cornbread. Roasted Oysters, $22: Oysters with a stuffing piled high on the shell. The stuffing was flavorful and in general a tasty dish. Most of the group had the special of the day AKA, Power Lunch, $34. I would say this is a good value in relation to the rest of the menu. You get a martini, gumbo and a Cajun court bouillon strew. The group liked the smokiness of the gumbo. The Stew was not a hit. The broth was flavorful, however the oysters were very very chewy and some of the other protein in the stew was not very tasty. Seemed like this dish was possibly overcooked. Shrimp and Grits, $38: Personally did not like the dish. The sauce had a good flavor, but was very oily, enough so that I wanted to scoop it out. The shrimp used where very large, however were tough and seemed overcooked. The biggest letdown of the dish was the texture of the grits. They were very very fine. I understand that these were of a high quality grind, this made them soft and supple. However it was so light that it made them seem like boxed mashed potatoes. It gave this dish no body and with the amount and oiliness of the sauce I found myself scraping the top off to get to just the grits. Some people may like this type of dish, but personally it did not hit for me. I feel that the general vibe of Eunice is good and they are making some high quality Cajun food. It is a great place to take a date or take a client for lunch. But personally I don't think its the type of place that would be great for just a regular meal out. While nothing was uneatable, nothing was executed perfectly. There was just several little misses along the way. So with that in mind I would not recommend or return. read more

Note: This review for their private room for an event and lunch. My review is based off an important event in their private room. We had a total of 11. The space was really pretty and we were able to bring our own decorative backdrop. I would say this is a great space to host intimate gatherings. They were very flexible in working with me as some plans changed and we ended up using the room for the mini event as well as the lunch after. We were able to come in an hour prior to opening to set up and have our quick event. Then we helped moved the tables back to the center of the room and had lunch. You get a total of 4 hours and I didn't feel rushed at all. Honestly worked out amazingly and I'm really thankful! The food itself was pretty good! A bit on the pricier side but I am definitely willing to spend that money due to being able to use the space. There is just the normal minimal spend rule for reserving the room. None of the seafood was too briny or fishy. The apps were all very delicious. We went with the east coast oysters, but I like the cooked oyster the best. My main dish was tuna medium rare. I was so hoping this would be a fabulous night, but it fell flat. We were celebrating hub's bday and retirement, so a very big night. Apps: Oysters, cornbread, shrimp cocktail and duck poppers were great. Meals: flounder was good, as were scallops and filet. Étouffée was meh. Server didn't ask if he liked it until he had finished and he was honest. She was apologetic but it was hindsight. Dessert: skip it. The torte was a bit dry, bread pudding was ok (served with ice cream rather than traditional rum sauce). Ice cream was good. Service etc: When you're at a "fine dining" establishment (especially celebrating a milestone), service should be superb, not just ok. Our server didn't ask if we were celebrating an occasion despite it being said when reservations were made. With a price tag of over $400, I had high expectations of food, atmosphere AND service. Way overpriced for what we got. It's a good restaurant, but falls short of a true fine dining establishment IMO.
