I don't know why it took me so long to come here. This Rouxpour (there are more than one) is located adjacent to Memorial City Mall on the Gessner side of the mall near the old ice rink. Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16. They were tasty. I like Rouxpour and would return. My only negative is that their prices are a little on the high side in my opinion. read more

I don't even live in Houston, but my LOVE for Rouxpour is real. I've only been during happy hour, but they do. not. miss. The vibes? Incredible. The music? YEAH, they understood the assignment. The gumbo is finger‑licking good -- argue with somebody else about it. I get the seafood version minus the sausage, and I clear that bowl every time. The Chargrilled Rockefeller? That's the one you call your mama about. Big, flavorful, perfect. And the deviled eggs... listen. I don't even like deviled eggs, but these? My mouth is literally watering thinking about them. Smooth, creamy yolk, perfectly seasoned shrimp on top -- a combo I didn't know I needed. The crab cakes? Chef's kiss. Packed with fresh crab, and that aioli is doing exactly what it needs to do. The only miss for me was the crab and asparagus -- it just wasn't giving. No flavor, no cohesion... just no. The crème brûlée is delicious, but I'm still wishing they made beignets. Now the drinks? Top 2 and not number 2, do you hear me? The Mexican Martini and the Texas Blueberry Martini -- TEA. (Yes, the little tea‑finger gesture is happening.) And the staff? Amazing. I actually found out I was laid off while I was sitting at happy hour, and the way they comforted me... You would've thought they'd known me for years. After shopping at mem city mall I was hungry so I decided to go to Rouxpour for lunch. Well to my surprise I was refused entrance because the hostess said she couldn't let me in because I had on slides. I didn't realize in 2026 we are still refusing service to people for ignorant ass reasons. This was very upsetting to me but instead of letting it ruin my day I took my business to Cheesecake Factory who welcomed me and my slides with open arms. So fuk you Roux pour! I will never spend a dime in your establishment and I will make sure none of my family, friends or colleagues do as well. read more

I had a fantastic dining experience at this Rouxpour that I didn't even know existed until I was invited by someone to dine. Only knew about the Sugar Land location. But this one served to be good as well. Food was good, always have to get the oysters. We also ordered pasta dish, bacon wrapped jalapeños and plenty drinks. Service was awesome. Came for my friends birthday. Easy to make a reservation and be seated. They do have a dress code to be mindful of. Our server Sasha was not the most attentive, we did have to ask for her several times. However Kenny was very helpful, gave great suggestions and was very kind. Our food was IMMACULATE! We had a great experience at Rouxpour on Friday! We were seated right away since it wasn't crowded. Happy hour offered fantastic deals on appetizers and drinks, so we started with those. I had deviled eggs with double protein, while my partner enjoyed bacon-wrapped jalapeño peppers with boudin. Both were delicious, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The Rouxpour was absolutely amazing from start to finish. First of all, the space is super cute. We had a party of six and were seated on the patio, which I was a little unsure about at first, but the breeze and the sound of the nearby fountain made it surprisingly peaceful. Plus, it was great for people-watching with folks constantly coming in and out of the busy restaurant. Our server, Eric, was really attentive and took time to walk us through the menu, pointing out a few of the fan favorites. The whole menu leans into that New Orleans influence, and it definitely delivers. I started with a hearty Caesar salad topped with fresh Parmesan, but I swapped out the dressing for their Creole vinaigrette. I don't know what's in it exactly, but it was tangy and vinegary just how I like it. For an appetizer, I had the crab and crawfish bisque. It was thick, creamy, and rich. Even on a warm summer evening, I didn't mind. My main dish was the crab-stuffed flounder, which had a super generous amount of fresh crab and came with roasted broccoli, purple potatoes, and white potatoes. Every bite was full of flavor and really filling. I wish I had saved room for dessert, but that just means I'll have to come back. We did a few appetizers and they came out quickly, service was efficient and attentive. Food was very good and the atmosphere was very chill. We stumbled upon the restaurant while looking for somewhere fun to hangout. Not only did we have great service, but Nicholas the bartender can make an excellent Old Fashioned. My husband is really over them, but it came highly recommended and he said he was a proper old fashioned how it should be made. Overall we will definitely be back to dine for lunch or dinner. I saw that Rouxpour had a Happy Hour for oysters so I thought I'd give it a try! When I was reading other people's online review, it said that they had a dress code so just a heads up (I was wearing business casual). I ordered a dozen oysters, NOLA BBQ Shrimp, and an Ahi Tuna Tataki. The oysters were great! Aside from them being cleaned well, I loved how there were different kinds of toppings to choose from: lemon, horseradish, hot sauce, Mignonette, and an Asian-sauce (cilantro, thai chili peppers, soy sauce, and garlic). As for the NOLA BBQ Shrimp, I loved the creamy garlic mashed potatoes and the blackened shrimp but the NOLA BBQ sauce was a little too salty. Not to mention, their garlic bread could have been a little more crispy to add that texture but still, I enjoyed the dish. Last but not least, the Ahi Tuna Tataki is a refreshing dish and definitely a great choice for something healthier. The jalapeño and wasabi aioli on top gave the dish some heat so just a heads up! Aside from the great food, the servers were fast and attentive. I will let y'all know though, there is an automatic service charge of 15% which I didn't exactly mind paying since my servers did a great job during my dining experience. Update: my most recent experience at The Rouxpour was very dismal compared to what I am accustomed to expecting from them. The food was great, while the service was average at best considering our waiter was relatively new. In the past I was extremely fond of their old fashions, well apparently now they've moved to prepackaged old fashions which taste like garbage. I wasn't offered a fresh old fashion just a comp for the trash that was brought to me in a glass. They charge an automatic service fee of 18%. This was extremely disappointing still a beautiful restaurant with great food and lots of potential. Won't be going as often or making it a regular date night anymore read more

Sebastian... Was an amazing waiter! My husband and I made reservations to try it out and we enjoyed it. The ambiance of the restaurant alone was cozy, warm, posh like and overall welcoming. We were greeted warmly and chauffeured to our seats. We ordered a cool whisky flight for the hubby, and a blueberry martini for me which was delicious! I would recommend that martini (first) lol! We started with blackened shrimp (no pic) didn't realize until after the last good bite that I hadn't taken a photo. We also ordered the blackened salmon and chicken with crawfish sauce on mashed which all were scrumptious.
