    Crabmeat Fettuccine
    Sophia N.

Lunch meetings are always more fun with yummy food. We hosted a business lunch meeting with another company on Tuesday. The restaurant was not quite as busy yet since the door seemed to just open for lunch hours. The vibe fits the sea/ocean theme, a lot of blue color in the restaurant. The smoked redfish dip and the blue crab, corn, and poblano bisque are a must to start off with. Be sure to ask what the catch of the day. I had crabmeat fettuccine which consists of jumbo lump crabmeat + fettuccine in garlic Romano cream sauce. I enjoyed the pasta, but the crabmeat contained a lot of shell fragments. It was a bit embarrassing splitting them out into a napkin. Would I come back? Most definitely, but probably not schedule a lunch meeting or another option would probably order something else.

The food was horrible. We went and should have been able to tell based on how many reservations were available. The baked oysters were soggy and wet where there should be a crust. The redfish dip was decent. The crab pasta was FILLED with shells!!!! I mean every bite was a crab shell in my pasta. Don't do it. Go elsewhere. Goode Co. should stick to bbq or the cantina.

This bisque is what dreams are made of!!!! Will be my go to cold day order- it was soooo delish! Love this spot, service is always great and very clean and cute vibes inside. Grilled oysters were yummy & smoked redfish dip was good. A little too smoky for me though. Will absolutely be back to this Houston staple!

Very noisy. Go there if you don't want to talk. I ordered the airline chicken. It had so much black pepper no other flavor was tasted. The onion rings were good

Always a great experience. Kelli is always a great server whether behind the bar or on the floor. She always has the best recommendations and truly goes above and beyond. Last night we enjoyed cocktails while dining on Mesquite grilled oysters with crab, topping and bacon added to them along with the redfish beignets, seared tuna, and last but not least redfish dip. I finished our evening off with an espresso martini. The perfect ending. We appreciate the warm hospitality and excellent service Kelli provides us on each of our visits. We will be back soon.

Happy hour seared tuna. Clean sear, good texture, and a solid portion.

When I'm in town for work, I usually ask a client where I should eat. This time I got a long list of recommendations, but one place kept coming up again and again. "Start here." That was the right call. The campechana was the highlight. Fresh, layered, and well balanced. It felt like a grounded ceviche with depth, not just acidity. Plenty of avocado, clean seafood, good heat, and bright citrus. I would order it again without hesitation. The mesquite grilled oysters carried a nice smokiness while still letting the brine come through. The seared tuna was clean, properly cooked, and texturally on point. Service was excellent. I felt welcomed immediately, checked on consistently, and still given space to finish a couple of work calls at the bar. That balance matters when you're traveling. Nothing here felt overcomplicated. It's familiar coastal seafood, executed confidently and well. Not a destination meal I would fly for, but absolutely a place I will return to anytime I'm in Katy. Strong four star experience.

Food was great Crabcake was as good as you'll find anywhere. Laguna Madre Shrimp are huge. Service was impeccable. Nice place. Great bar. Exactly what you want when seeking out a Seafood Restaurant.

Onion Rings! They were DELICIOUS! Truly, the best of what we ate!

We went on a Friday night. Had reservations but went approximately 1hr earlier and were accommodating pretty quickly. Although it was pretty busy, the ambiance was perfect! Not too loud, quick service, music was trendy and good to the ear. Our server was PHENOMENAL! He recommended our wines and they were fantastic! Now, our food, unfortunately was not impressive. Portion/price was fair however, not the flavor. Our appetizer (chargrilled oysters) were good, just okay; the baguette that comes with them was plain and truly just whatever. The salmon entree was bland. Very okay on flavor. The red snapper was bland and the seafood rice , i wouldn't order again. The food was NOT terrible, however, it was very bland.

It wasn't my cup of tea but I can see why people like it. Service was great. I sat at the bar at around 1pm and they were fantastic. The food was just ok. Missing flavor and the fried cornmeal of whatever is used to fry it had an odd texture. I got the fried stuffed plate. The inside stuffing was cold. And it was bland. I used a lot of tartar sauce. The stuffed crab had so many crab shell pieces that it was hard to eat. The french fries were super hard. The inside is lovely. It's beautifully decorated and I can see why some people may like the food. But it wasn't for me.

All right, the redfish on the half shell was fantastic again I say it was FANTASTIC. The shrimp empanadas were exceptional, the red beans were good, don't expect traditional NOLA, but they were good, but. THAT. REDFISH! I had experienced Goode BBQ in the past, and it was good, but was concerned about it being empty with the competitor down the road PACKED, but I was thoroughly impressed by my food options. Would definitely return!!

Very good seafood. Lives up to the name. The best part was our waiter Urbano. So kind and attentive. This man loves his job and that really made the experience. Good drinks too. Loved my creamy expresso martini!

    Seafood Skewer

We were served a fish skewer that was raw in the center, which is a serious food safety concern. Raw or undercooked fish can pose real health risks. When we informed the staff, they only offered a brief apology and did nothing further -- no replacement, no comp, and no effort to address the issue properly. Serving raw fish unintentionally is unacceptable, and the lack of response afterward was just as concerning. This situation was handled poorly and does not inspire confidence in their food safety standards.

Ask the Community - Goode Company Seafood

Are they still charging 5% fee on the bill for COVID? They had it at 10% 1 year ago and the menu in their website says 5%?

    Do they have kid menus?

There isn't a kid's section on the main menu and right now they have the disposable limited menus. I don't have children and haven't ever seen many there but I would think they possibly have a separate menu for the kids. This would be good to know… Read more

Using Waze this is a hard place to find as it is behind office buildings not on the feeder as the address suggests. Further finding outdoor parking is not possible at a peak hour but note that there is an easily accessible parking garage. This Treebeards appearance was very pretty (not what I was expecting giving my experience with the downtown location and I am not sure that it is still around). Also, some other nice restaurants in this block. The restaurant was packed with professionally dressed people. The waiter took our order, and he was accommodating to substitutions and our selection of side orders. I got fried catfish. This is not a normal selection for me as I will normally avoid fried foods other than fries and chips (yes, and I wonder why I do not lose the 5 lbs. that I need to lose). Service was quick and our order was perfect. The friend catfish was outstanding as it was right out of the fryer. It was a very pleasant experience and I would happily go back.

Treebeards off the Katy Freeway - Solid Comfort Food in a Convenient (but Tricky) Spot…read moreWe stopped by Treebeards on the Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas, and it was exactly what we needed for a hearty lunch. Finding the place can be a little confusing if you're coming right off the Katy Freeway because of the unique building structure it's tucked into -- just take it slow and you'll spot it. Once you're there, though, there's plenty of parking in the shared lot. Fair warning: it does get very crowded since so many other restaurants and retail spots share the same area, so you might have to circle a bit during peak times. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed. They have seating both inside and outside, with plenty of tables plus some comfy couches where you can settle in and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. You order at the counter when you walk in, then grab a seat wherever you like -- super straightforward. We went with the gumbo, two orders of the chicken pot pie, and a shepherd's pie. Overall, the food was good -- solid, comforting, and filling -- but it wasn't quite amazing. We've definitely had better versions of the shepherd's pie, chicken pot pies, and gumbo at other spots around Houston. That said, the sides were legit! The macaroni and cheese and red beans and rice were both tasty and hit the spot. The jalapeño cornbread had great flavor, but man, it was extremely dry. Like, the kind of dry where you take a bite and immediately need a big swig of your drink to get it down. For dessert, we split the yellow cake with chocolate frosting. My wife really enjoyed it, though I'm not a huge fan of that style. I did notice they offer bread pudding, so I'll definitely be trying that next time. All in all, Treebeards delivered a satisfying meal in a chill setting. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area and craving some down-home comfort food.

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.
