I ordered 2 classic grilled cheese sandwiches, paid then went to go to another place in the food court to get my niece chicken nuggets. The man behind the counter asked my name for my order before I left and then two older ladies ordered as I was leaving. I got her chicken nuggets and came back and asked if my grilled cheese was ready. He said how many did you order and I said 2. He said oh and started guestering to the women at the table who had ordered after me and said he gave one of my grilled cheese to them. I said what, it's a tall counter and it's not like some other places where all the orders are kept in a place customers can just grab the wrong order, he saw the two of them and they had only ordered a single grilled cheese and he gave my grilled cheese to them. That's fine, I could have waited for another, it's two pieces of white bread some butter and cheese, but he asked them to give me my grilled cheese back as if they had stolen it from me. I was shocked that he wasn't willing to just make another one knowing that I had paid for two of them and let them have the one that he gave them by accident. I didn't argue with him or try and make a scene, I was tired and hungry, but for $9 each it isn't worth me going back. read more

The crust on my grilled cheese was absolutely perfect, and the filling was so flavorful! I went with the buffalo chicken and was not disappointed! The slaw at the perfect crunch to accompany the initial crust of the bite. Definitely recommend giving them a try! I'm going to try something new every time I come. ETA: I was so busy gushing over the sandwich I didn't talk about the fries. The service was great the cashier rung us up fast and started on the order. I Enjoyed the sandwich! I did feel like I had more peppers than brisket but I guess I get it they have to still make money. The fries did taste freezer burnt and I didn't finish them.. but I get it if people aren't ordering them all the time. read more

I've been to the Katy location and the Food Truck that was near Chimney Rock. I'm usually skeptical about mall locations for any place, I figured why not? Got the Smokehouse Brisket. It's my favorite sandwich off the menu. It never fails. This one didn't as well. Great flavor, sexy cheese pull, etc. The fries were well seasoned but not cooked well at all. They were almost raw. Would score higher, but if I'm paying 20+ dollars for a sandwich, drink, and fries.....please make sure the fries are done next time. I know it can be a rush, but good things do take time! read more

I can tell you right now as I sit here chowing down this place is twisted good! Hella good, I got the Smokehouse Brisket, which is a smoked beef brisket with pickled jalapenos, melted yellow and white American cheese, white cheddar, and mozzarella. The bread is buttery toasted with a drizzle of barbecue sauce on top! What a lovely delicious combination for a person who craves cheese! New location!!! Memorial City Mall food court. Not bad for their first week. A little slow, but I am sure they will work things out. The sandwich was very tasty. I tried the brisket cheese sandwich. It's very rich so you might want to share with a friend. I would like to see them do a half sandwich with a tomato soup combo. I thought the prices were slightly high. It's definitely worth a try. Viciously understaffed on a Sunday afternoon, though the food is good. I have ordered cheesecake donut holes, and they were delicious. But I had to wait around 10 minutes for my order. I really wanted to like this place but they didn't have a full menu when we arrived. I wanted to try the pepperoni grilled cheese but they didn't the stuff for it so I settled on the OG while my fiancé got the brisket one. I got mine as a combo with fries and a drink. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out. At the time we were the only ones that ordered. The guy almost looked bothered that we came up to get food but Grilled Cheese sounded so good at the time. The food itself was ok. It wasn't worth the $43 we spent (Yes $43 on Grilled Cheeses) Nothing to write home about. It seems like the attitude of the workers is a common issue between the different locations and its such a shame as I looked at their social media to see how they started. The owner should invest in some secret shoppers to help this business out. read more

This Black-owned food truck does grilled cheese so differently and in the BEST way! Look at that CHEESE though! This is the Philly cheesesteak grilled cheese and it had so much flavor that it didn't take me long to eat at ALL. I got the Parmesan fries to go along with it and they were literally the perfect pair. Whenever I'm back in Houston I will definitely try another type of grilled cheese! I had the Halal Chicken and enjoyed it. However, the sandwich was smaller than expected and not worth the $12. I wanted the buffalo chicken but they said it was unavailable. Staff said their most popular sandwich was the brisket and maybe that would've wowed me if I got it. They only had one menu that a customer was looking at so I had to wait till they were done before seeing options. The menu was rather dirty and should be cleaned more regularly. They quoted a 15 minute wait and finished a couple minutes earlier. The one staff member at the truck could've been friendlier but also answered all my questions so maybe he was having a rough day. I would give the taste of the food 4 stars but Overall, it was an average experience and I don't think I'll be back which is why it gets 3 stars. I could rate this place higher if they decreased prices and were more friendly. read more

The 5-cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Basil Soup would be better IF 1) Two or 3 less slices of cheese were used (and a lower price) and 2) the soup was a bit thinner so when you dip the sandwich it soaks in a bit. As it is, the ratio of bread to cheese is cheese-heavy. The bread is toasted very nicely. read more

Went to the new Memorial City location solely based on a FB ad that featured an "Avocado BLT+E," (bacon lettuce tomato and fried egg.) It looked bomb so I went to get one. Well apparently, you have to specifically ask for the egg to be added even though the menu shows that it has an egg. I got my sandwich after about a 15 minute wait and there was no egg on it. I was extremely disappointed but didn't have time to try and get them to make another one. Finally got to check this place out for a to go order. Super easy to order and pay online. Food was hot and ready at the promised time. Ordered the TGC 5 Cheese Classic, the 5 Cheese Pepperoni and a side of the tomato basil soup. The soup was amazing - deep, rich tomato flavor and great consistency. With the sandwiches, was expecting to taste more of the 5 cheeses that are listed on the menu. All I could taste was the White American cheese and that was a little disappointing but an easy fix for next time if I can request none of that type of cheese. Update: After the post the manager contacted me in regards to my experience. I was very impressed that she addresses my concerns. I vowed to return for another experience and update my review. I returned two days later and IT WAS IMMACULATE. ERRINE THE MANAGER also apologized for the mishap and made sure this experience was exemplary. She even came off the truck to greet me in person and apologize. 5 STAR SERVICE!!!!! Once my food was completed she brought it to my car. Also offered their special drink a limeade. The food was sooo good and full of meat. I had more than 7 fries this time and everything was tasty. I will be back and I appreciate the efforts put forth to make my 2nd experience great. read more

I almost gave this 3 stars because the TGC classic wasn't anything impressive, but that 5 cheese pepperoni one was immaculate! My date and I are kind of foodies. He doesn't do reviews but I do! I am not going to bash the classic because it's just a standard grilled cheese but I think the salted butter was just a little too salty for my taste. It's good but I could make a standard grilled cheese at home for way less. The pizza one was next level though. I hate pepperoni. I don't hate it but I can tolerate it. It usually overwhelms the dish, but this time it was perfect. You could taste the sauce, the cheese, the meat, and most importantly that savory buttered toast. This place is a real treat! Now I have to find alternate plans for lunch as I am a very busy individual and definitely not happy with this. Visited twice and the food was bomb both times! Jose and Vanessa served us both times and they really made us feel like family. The food comes out fresh and in a timely manner. There was a bit of a wait for our food, but coming from Los Angeles, I know that when you're waiting, it's usually because your food is being prepared fresh. It was well worth the wait. Everything tasted authentic, homemade, and like true Southern soul food. The atmosphere was just as wonderful as the food. It was warm, cozy, laid back, and welcoming. The music was pleasant, the décor was beautiful, and the entire restaurant had an inviting energy that made us want to stay. My best friend and I sat at the bar near the entrance so we could take in the whole room, and I absolutely loved the ambiance. The staff was exceptional. Everyone was kind, personable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They checked on us throughout our meal to make sure we had everything we needed, and the customer service was truly top-tier. I especially want to recognize the young lady who was back there preparing the food. Hats off to the cook--chef's kiss! This was easily one of the best soul food meals I've had in my lifetime. It came out piping hot, served with homemade tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and two sides. They use a cornmeal batter just like my mom used to make, and I absolutely loved it. The tartar sauce was great, too. I would honestly go back just for the fish. For sides, I picked the greens and French fries. The greens tasted just like real greens should. That took me straight back to my mom's cooking, and my mom could seriously throw down in the kitchen. The fries tasted fresh and homemade, definitely not out of a frozen bag. I am usually not one to clean my plate and almost always have leftovers, but the portions here were perfect. I ate all my catfish and about half the fries and greens. My friend got the chicken pot pie and said it was good. I took a bite, and while it was not bad, it was nowhere near as good as my catfish.
