Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers

The Capital Grille is a wonderful place for date night, special celebration with family , or just a classy vibe. Full of delectable eats and a top notch service that is unbeatable. From the valet parking, the waitstaff, and the greeters I was truly impressed. Now the EATS!!!! This dining event was called "Wagyu & Wine" and the selection I made was the Waygu Cheeseburger (Bleu cheese). Mouth watering and full of "tenderism" Also, as a starter we had the Calamari extra crispy!! The wine selection was excellent and matched flavor combinations of the full experience. If you are in City Centre of Houston/ Memorial City area and you want to treat yourself to a sexy yet classy evening this is your place!!!! Enjoy!!!

We dined here for Easter Brunch and overall it was delicious. We valet parked which was $5 if you're dining at a restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the noise level was appropriate. We were seated immediately when we checked in. My grandson had the chicken fingers with fries and he enjoyed them! We started out with the oysters on the half shell, which were smaller than I expected but they were good. My husband and I had the Cold-Smoked Salmon and Avocado Toast and it was delicious. My daughter had the clam chowder and she said it was good. I had the Lobster Frittata, which was delicious but the hash brown was overcooked. My daughter and husband had the filet mignon and egg and they said the steak was good but it was a little salty and overcooked on the outside but good on the inside. I had The Doli, my husband had the High Flyer, and my daughter had the French 75 and they were all great! Our server, Donald/Don was amazing and the general manager stopped by the table to see if everything was great. Overall it was a great dining experience.

5 stars I had such a great experience at The Capital Grill!e I didn't get any pictures of my food (too busy enjoying every bite ), but I did manage to grab a quick video of the wine pour during the wine tasting--definitely a nice touch and added to the overall experience. For my meal, I had the sea bass topped with crab, and wow... just so good. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I paired it with the Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes, which were both amazing--no notes! I was curious about the cream of spinach, and even though my server recommended the Brussels sprouts (which I'm glad I got), he was thoughtful enough to bring out a sample of the spinach for me to try. I really appreciated that level of service. Overall, everything--from the food to the wine to the service--was top tier. I'll definitely be back!

I had the wine and wagyu special that was only $35. It was absolutely incredible! What a value too. I didn't know if I would be treated as a second class citizen when ordering it but that was not the case at all. The bread and soft butter they serve prior to the meal was just spot on wonderful. The burger choices are great - you will find one of the three choices to suit your fancy. I didn't opt for the truffle oil or blue cheese burger and just went for a basic one and it was GLORIOUS! A regular burger from a fast food joint would be like eating out of a dumpster or being served a bucket of vomit, by comparison. That's how TERRIFIC the burger was and the wine too. I love Duckhorn.

I enjoyed the stellar service for our Christmas dinner with the family at The Capital Grille. Hostesses, Waiters, and server's assistants were all terrific. Especially with our 1yr old who they doted on hand and foot the entire time. They lived up to the high end steak house standard of care that you expect. Valet parking up front is $5, but there is a garage a bit of a walk away if that's your style. My steak here was fantastic! As suggested by our server James, I went with the Kona crusted Bone-in Ribeye. Excellent portion size, and the coffee flavor profile was just different enough to be memorable and familiar at the same time. Was the absolute highlight item of my Christmas break meals. Everything else was good to ok. We got some fried calamari and pepper that were fine, Crab cakes that were passable, and some fried prosciutto and mozzarella that was great (because how could you go wrong?). My lobster bisque had a fair amount of meat, but the soup didn't punch as hard as I would've thought, maybe had too much cream. The sides were also just fine compared to some other high end places, baby loved the mashed potatoes. TL/DR; the steak here is near perfect, but the apps and sides leave a little to be desired. Service is impeccable!

I was not impressed with this steakhouse at all. I ordered online and picked my food up to go. I arrived at the designated pick up time, 40 mins after my order was placed, and my food was not ready. They offered me a soft drink to accommodate and I accepted. My boyfriend placed an online order for me as an anniversary lunch. From his end, it seemed as if he had paid, since he entered his card info and the amount of the order was deducted from his balance. Oddly though, upon receiving my food, I was also asked for payment. I paid, but also explained that my boyfriends card had already been charged. I was assured that the charge on his card was solely an authorization hold and that it would fall off. That is stupid. If it's a hold then send the charge through once I get the food. No reason why I should have to present payment upon arrival if you already have card info on file. My food was just as bad, if not worse, than the payment process. I ordered a medium ribeye, truffle fries and lobster-crab cakes. My steak was sooo tough. My goodness, I was so disappointed in how tough it was. I was cutting forever, I was chewing forever, and I pulled way too many tendons out of my mouth. Overall I was just extremely displeased with the quality of the meat. My fries were good. While the fries themselves were comparable to somewhere like chilis, the garlic/truffle flavor was really tasty. The crab cakes were not good either. The lobster meat was rubbery and the crab was overworked. I prefer my crab cake with lumps of crab meat, but here the crab cake consisted of shreds. I would also like to point out that the dish is advertised as two crab cakes and I received one large one. Maybe if they had split it in two, the lobster meat wouldn't have been so over-cooked. Houston has a plethora of steakhouses that beat this place by a landslide. I heard from friends that Cap Grille was not great, but I wanted to try it for myself. After this experience, I can confirm, they were telling the truth and it is indeed not great. Will not be returning Also, this was the only place I swiped my card yesterday. The transaction was completed at the back of the house, out of my sight, and by 10PM last night I had received an alert that an attempt to charge $1500 was made. Do with that info what you will.

The service FANTASTIC The drinks AMAZING The overall atmosphere CHIC and UPSCALE The flavor of the food IMMACULATE The food poisoning I suffered from the seafood? The WORST. Like almost went to the ER bad. Experienced numbness, chills, tingling all over, ect which I've never dealt with before when dealing with food poisoning. Thankfully, I have a cousin who's a doctor who chalked it up to most likely being ciguatera poisoning. This was back in May so it's been awhile. 3 of us went together, and all of us ordered seafood but different plates. I ate all of my plate along with a lobster bisque AND a few bites of the other 2 peoples plates. Like I said EVERYTHING was delicious, just upsetting that I got sick from their food. The Pan-Seared Sea Bass was my plate and it was *chefs kiss* delicious. I don't plan on avoiding this place, quite frankly wish I could go back but FOR ME at the moment it's too pricey.

The Capital Grille has always been great and memorable. The service, food, drinks and ambiance are nicely done, and our recent dinner experience at the Houston - CityCentre location was no different. This place is deserving of a high rating. Their shellfish platter, lobster macaroni and cheese and tuna appetizers were such a treat, and the bone-in ribeye was perfection. Each menu item is better than the next and truly enjoyable. Five stars for a great dinner experience.

3.5 edging to 4 Took my wife and children out to the capital Grill on a Saturday evening. The ambiance is nice and stylish and about what your would expect from an upscale steakhouse. The Service was very good, but not the best I have had at a top end steak house. They did not scrape breadcrumbs, but did offer hot towels. I would not say the service was bad our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. As a family we ordered and shared several items. Table Bread: Very nice selection of breads with butter. There was 4 distinct breads in the basket, and I will say they all were nicely made with a varying flavor and texture. One of the best selections of table bread I have had at any steakhouse. Lobster and Crab cakes, $26: 2 good sized cakes served with tartar and what I would call a corn relish. They were nicely prepared with large lumps of meat and a slightly fried exterior. The Tartar was very good and the corn added some interesting sweetness when mixed with the cake. Great to share between a couple people, or possibly a meal for a light eater. Cold Shellfish platter, $60: A chilled 1 LB lobster, 6 jumbo cocktail shrimps and 6 oysters. the lobster was cooked perfectly and came out of the shell with no effort and the meat was not chewy. The Jumbo shrimp were very good size and texture. The cocktail sauce was great match for the shrimp. The Oysters were a bit of a disappointment. I know that it was not really in season, but they were very small and mushy. While oysters have very little texture and chew as it is, these were almost just slime. The flavor of them was not bad, they were just not very apitizing. Blackberry Bourbon Sidecar, $15: This was not a bad drink, but It did not seem strong at all. and it did not have much of a distinct flavor, even though there was several unique ingredients and garnashes. In the end it was just a sweet drink that was ok, but not memorable. Stoli Doli, $15 "The Houses Signature drink": Better than the Sidecar, however still just ok. I also felt it was a bit weak. The flavor was smooth so someone who is looking for a drink without any burn would like this one. Au Gratin Potatoes, $12: Average sized portion of Potatoes, probably enough for 4 good servings. They were creamy and had a nice toasty breadcrumb crust on top. The flavor was fine, not the best I have ever had. I was not disappointed in the side, but it was nothing special. Creamed Spinach, $11: Same sized portion as the Potatoes. Big disappointment. Not super creamy and the flavor was bland at best. I honestly mixed them with the potatoes and other sauces to try and make them taste better, it did not help. Seared Salmon with Tomatoes and White Wine Butter, $42: A medium piece of salmon, that was flaky and cooked nicely. We ordered the sauce on the side so the kids could eat some without the sauce. The sauce itself was very nicely done. Dry Aged NY Strip 14oz, $53: We ordered the steak medium so the kids could have some. It came out properly cooked and was very tender. It was a good size and had a great flavor. The steak was probably the best dish we had. I liked the Capital Grill and feel that they hit all the important parts of being a competent upscale steakhouse. With that said I was not wowed by anything and was a little disappointed in a few items. I think this would be a fine place to take a date or someone for a specials occasion. The price is mostly in line with other Steak houses in Houston so expect to spend $75+ per person. I am in no hurry to go back any time soon, but would say that I would not be opposed to giving them another try. In the end competent seems to sum up the experience. I would recommend The Capital Grill and would return.

I stopped in for lunch today as they are in the ground floor if our office building. We entered a back door entrance right off from the elevator. We reviewed the lunch menu and it has a few good deals. We decided to sit on the patio as it was a nice day out. We all had the Cobb salad with sliced filet. It was excellent. It was probably one of the best Cobb salads that I've had. There was a new employee/bartender training and she offer us to try a few cocktails in the house. How could we refuse. They were pretty good and refreshing. I think one of my friends got a vodka infused one and mine was a Woodford reserve one in a martini type glass that was pretty strong. The 3rd one was a margarita type. The service was excellent and I will definitely return the next time o go to my office.

First time here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and I love it. On the reservation i wrote it was his birthday they had a cute little set up for him. Our server Chris was absolutely amazing, friendly, honest and took care of us. The bread was BOMB Made us feel very welcomed! The vibes in the restaurant was nice but we did have this big table next to us being really really really loud but whatevs lol Boo got the steak and lobster and that came with mash I have the steak with mushrooms and onions and we ordered the lobster mac and spinach, We had to send the spinach back it was so salty OMG but other than that we will definitely be back and probably ask for Chris because he's awesome. Typically expensive hyped steak restaurants aren't that good and over priced but I didn't have any complaints on this one!

The vibe inside is super cute with mood lighting and plenty of intimate seating spaced throughout. Parking in said shopping center is sparse. I'm not sure if parking is allowed at the neighboring businesses after hours, but I wanted to play it safe and ended up waiting about 15 minutes for someone to vacate their space. Our group had a couple of tables reserved and they had no problem having everyone pay on separate tabs. Service is offered both at the table and bar. Our waiter was attentive and had great recommendations for wine. When I was conflicted between two whites, he graciously brought me out both to taste and decide. I went with the Cacciabruco Malvasia/Trebbiano, which is a skin-contact white wine, so it had more of a reddish hue to it and almost looked like a rose in the dim lighting of the restaurant. I really liked this, as it was on the drier side and satisfied my palate more than the Gewürztraminer that I had also sampled. I didn't try the food but others in our party really liked the flatbreads they ordered. I do want to try these out next time because I know they will pair great with the wine! I'm glad I finally discovered this place! I'll definitely be back for happy hour and even a date night. The fig, prosciutto and other toppings complimented each other well. The flatbread dough itself was ok but could've benefited from a little more flavor such as some garlic, butter and herbs. I also would've liked it a bit thinner so I could taste less of the bread and more of those delicious toppings. Don't get me wrong it was good and I ate all of it but these are small suggestions I'd recommend to bring it to perfection. I could see parking and seating being tricky. I was fortunate to snag a parking spot on the side of the building near the auto place and once inside I found a seat at a table with a lovely couple, another couple joined us soon after. Many of the guests who arrived later stood at first and then halfway through the event, made their way to the floor where they sat cross legged. The space is pretty and welcoming with friendly staff, open walls, and big windows. I sat on the patio with some girlfriends with memberships who invited me out for the day. It overlooks a few rows of vines along with herbs and vegetables, which makes it feel peacefully designed. The cheese board was fantastic with a generous spread and variety. The wines were lovely too with bottles from different regions. If you're in Houston I recommend checking out Nice Winery and considering a membership. My friends all do the monthly one red and one white option, pick up at the winery, and enjoy a glass together on the patio. It is a great spot for a relaxed day!.

Upon arrival, we had time to peruse wines and chat in the rustic lobby. Then our educator Katie gathered us and led us to the Founders' Room, where we found wine, charcuterie and coziness awaiting. We sampled six wines, including two from their charity series and one from their virtue series. Katie walked us through how they became involved with charities, the meaning behind their virtue wines, and what Nice does to create and partner with other vineyard producing sustainable wines. We walked the property, seeing where grapes, herbs and other fruits are grown. This visit was a delight. As a non wine connoisseur, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will likely visit again.
