I decided to do Doordash at work for dinner since I work nights. It's been years since I've been to a Pappadeaux's. I have a to say I was quite impressed with the fried catfish. I got the shrimp and catfish fillets meal. They give you five fried butterfly shrimp and two nice sized catfish fillets. I substituted the fries with red beans and rice. Fried catfish - 10 out of 10 This was perfection, best fried catfish that I have had in awhile. Light cornmeal batter, not greasy, very fresh, perfectly cut fillet(not thick) and perfectly seasoned. The seasoning was not overboard. Seemed to be just salt and pepper. Fried butterflied shrimp - I'll give the shrimp 7 out of 10. Their shrimp has a different batter from the fish for some reason. It's a kind of light bread crumb batter. The shrimp was very fresh, but overall the shrimp was good but not great. Red beans and rice - 7 out of 10 on this dish. Nice fluffy side of rice to go with the beans. The beans tasted a bit like they were pre-made from an outside source, but they were tasty. Service/Value - 8 out of 10. Pretty pricey meal, but the quality and the portion sizes are perfect. The packaging is also on point for delivered food. I'm only giving an 8 out of 10 because they gave me no napkins or utensils. I'll give this place a 4 for missing on the beans and rice and the utensils, but I would highly recommend this place. I'll be back. read more

Pappadeaux never misses. Always tasty, always filling, and you're guaranteed a to-go box. I always have leftovers to take home. I ordered the Crispy Atlantic Salmon with Jumbo Crab. The salmon was chef's kiss. It was tender, moist, exactly how I like it. My only disappointment was they could've squeezed in one more scallop. The plate came with one. My husband went with the Texas Redfish and Shrimp, which he said was delicious. His only disappointment was they could've left out the nuts. He missed that on the menu. The squash that came with it, though, was pretty tasty. I'm a squash lover and so I feel qualified to say that. We also got a side of dirty rice and broccolini for the table. Both dishes were solid additions. The best part was the garlic bread. It was brought out before the meal and it was absolutely incredible. Creamy, herby, cheesy, with just a little kick. I could have made a whole meal out of it. Nick, our waiter kept the evening entertaining for us and nudged us to order a cheesecake to-go. Worth it. Loved the vibes. Long time fan of Pappas Restaurants . First time review. Came for lunch around 11:50 and got seated right away. Started with crawfish seafood fondeaux which is always a hit, it has so many flavors missed with the cheese and the good bread, the only problem is it could be a meal alone. I typically get the shrimp, sausage read beans and rice but I just had it the other night so I decided to get the shrimp Alfredo pasta. Good amount of shrimp for lunch dish with a good sized piece of bread and pasta noodles with Alfredo sauce. The sauce has a lemon zest to it that made it unique. Came to visit Texas, and my coworkers brought me to Pappadeaux to feel like I would have a true Texas experience. It was definitely a memorable visit! The service from the waiters were always so nice and welcoming. We got started off with their garlic bread. That was absolutely delicious. I tried their Alexander salmon which was not only delicious with the seafood, but so full of different flavors. It was my first experience, trying dirty rice as well, which didn't disappoint either. We ended up sharing a bread pudding amongst the three of us because they are BIG portions, but it still was absolutely delicious and melt in your mouth. The feeling of the restaurant felt very classy but also comfortable. I have wanted to come to Pappadeaux for years! And when I say years I mean it. Well I finally got the opportunity and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Especially after the bad dining experience we had at a fine dining restaurant this was the highlight of my Houston trip! We dined here on May 16th,2025 we came to Houston for a few days and this was our last dining spot before we flew back home, we arrived around 5pm and luckily it wasn't busy yet, the bar was super busy though, the restaurant had a great vibe, people laughing and having fun, music was loud everyone was smiling. We got sat in a booth by the bar, The server we had was amazing she suggested drinks and walked us through the menu. For this being a "chain" restaurant they really had it together, we started with some fresh oysters, and spinach and crab dip that I must say was chefs kiss, thinking about it now makes my mouth water! For the entree I ordered the blackened catfish with red beans and rice and I must say wow!! And we finished off with desert, I had an amazing first time experience and I can't wait to go back! I love this franchise, menu, food, drinks, and customer service. If something is not right with the meal or drinks, Pappadeaux's goes above and beyond to make it right. All of the locations I have been to the food, drinks, and service are consistent. On weekends there is usually a wait, but it is well worth it. The ambience of the restaurant during the day is bright, good music, and calm. During dinner lots of warm lighting, busy, and noisy. Soon as you are seated warm bread and butter is served. Ask for scampi butter to put on your bread as well. My go to appetizers are the crab/spinach dip, shrimp & crawfish fondeaux, & hot honey glazed gator bites. My go to dishes are the Pasta Mardi Gras with extra sauce and sausage for an up charge. The sampler platter sub fries for fully loaded baked potato or a house salad with ranch. The Mississippi catfish opelousas, Texas redfish pontchartrain, fried jumbo shrimp brochettes, and Crawfish Platter. All of the dishes have large portions shareable for two or take to go. As for drinks if you like frozen fruity drinks the go to's are the frozen margarita, the Pappadocious, the swamp thing, and the 3 wheel motion. My go to dessert orders are the strawberry cheesecake, key lime pie, and my favorite turtle fudge brownie. The Pappadeaux's franchise is a little pricey, but definitely worth the treat and splurge. I thoroughly enjoy Pappasito's for Tex-mex, Pappas Seafood, and Pappas Burgers. Whew, I'll always love me some Pappadeaux's! I haven't been here since I wsa a teenager! The place is very clean and nice, with a classy ambiance! There's plenty of parking outside, and the area is safe! Our server gave amazing service, and was attentive to our needs throughout our dinner. As for food, I was blown away per usual! We started off with oysters, which were absolutely perfect (I wanted more)! I got a stuffed fish dish and my aunt got a seafood pasta! It was all very delicious and pleasing to the eyes! But boy, those oysters were the bomb! We had to be very careful with the appetizer bread! It was yummy, but dangerous! Definitely won't have space for dessert if you eat that bread! I came here for an early dinner with a guest. Upon seating I couldn't help but notice that there was a lot of staff just standing around. I guess they were anticipating the dinner crowd to start arriving after work hours. I ordered the full fried shrimp order because I really enjoyed them at papa's seafood. I also paid the full price because I didn't know that they were doing the fried shrimp special. And I would have qualified for that since it was during the week but I didn't see the sign until I left. I wish the server would have mentioned it and I would have got that order. A quick dinner with a friend we had the best waitress Theresa. Theresa was very attentive and quick with everything. She made some really good recommendations. She recommended the garlic bread which was delicious but a large serving so make sure you have more people. We tried the oysters, which were so great! Nice and buttery and then Theresa recommended the Ponchatrain as it was her favorite and I can see why. My husband and I wanted to split it so she was good about having the kitchen already have it pre-split so the picture of it looks small. It's only because it's half of the full order. Our server Davon was pleasant and attentive but overworked. He forgot refill requests on a couple of occasions. The cracker tin was empty, and despite one of our party ordering gumbo, they didn't notice we needed it filled until we asked. Davon sent a coworker to bring us appetizer plates and we watched as he gave them to the table next to ours (who already had theirs). Well chalk up the serving blips to a novice crew on a busy night. Very classy! They have a lot of fresh seafood options. You had your range from fresh lobster to salmon and crab. They had a list of specials you could choose per day. Service was also fast. My party of 10 ordered and go their food within 30 minutes. Indoors was also a very classy wooden modern interior. There's lots of natural light and full glass walls. My previous visit to this restaurant was more than 20 years ago in another location; possibly inside the 610-loop in Houston. Well, this time around, we came by this location on I-10 with a 6-person party on a Friday lunch. Service: Attentive servers and helpful but adding a little more warmth would improve the service. There's nothing to complaint about but just very mundane and something is missing: smiles and warmth when interacting. Ambience: It's a party place, noise level is rather high, diners are in a happy and rowdy mood, similar to a typical Mexican cantina. Depending on your moods, this could be what you want. I'm neutral to it in this visit. Foods: I ordered the Mardi Gras Pasta and it's quite tasty. Perhaps, this was prepared for Southern palates but I thought the chef is a little over zealous with the salt shaker. The whole shrimps were around 15-20% overcooked. Shrimps for this kind of dish need to be seared on the outside, firm and bursting with juices on the inside when you bite into it. But, the overcooking had dried out the inside quite a bit. The de-shelled pieces of crawfish were OK. Pasta is cooked up to the right level. Summary: It's OK, no major blunders but nothing fancy enough to right home about. read more

I sat at the bar since I was dining solo. All was well after I just enjoyed 1 dozen oysters, but my main dish ( Blackened Red Snapper with ponchatran sauce and dirty rice needed a little more care. I probably had about 15 pin bones that I unattractively held to pull from my mouth. I had mentioned it to 3 people serving at the bar and said they would bring it to the manager's attention. I waited about 1/2 hour, asked for my check, tipped 20%, but left unimpressed. And shoutout to manager Chris Williams who came through with energy--greeted us like family and made sure our table was thriving. Not just surviving, THRIVING. Now that's hospitality. The food? PIPING. HOT. SEASONED. DELICIOUS. The drinks? Made me remember why I use to love this restaurant. I may live in North Houston, but for this Pappadeaux location? I'll travel. 10/10. Highly recommend. We celebrated my nephew's birthday at this location, and as someone visiting from out of town, it was my first time here. Overall, we had a great experience with our waiter, at least my brother thought so, as he made sure to let the server know how much he appreciated the service. The appetizers were phenomenal. Unfortunately, my main dish, the crawfish étouffée, was not appetizing. I mentioned it to the waiter, who offered to inform the chef. I told him it wasn't a big deal, and that I just wouldn't be eating or taking the dish. Still, the chef came out and stood rather close to me, asking if I wanted to order something else. I felt a bit pressured and wasn't sure what to choose, so I played it safe and requested the blackened salmon, specifically asking that it not be overcooked. Since our group was about to leave, they packed it to go. When I finally opened the dish, I was surprised to find something entirely different. Instead of just blackened salmon, I received some seafood dish that was a bit salty and included shrimp, scallops, and crawfish. I couldn't help but think, Seriously? I was sure I asked for salmon. At one point, it felt like the waitstaff may have made some assumptions about us. But let this be a reminder, never judge a book by its cover. The food quality has gone extremely down as a patron of pappadeaux's for over 15 years this is the first time that I am deeply disappointed in the quality of food and taste. I spoke to the manager on three occasions letting them know that the food quality menu selections and atmosphere all do not align with the pappadeaux Cajun seafood brand. Number one they are not using Gulf shrimp they're small and not cleaned number two they're using imitation crab for stuffed shrimp and stuff crab they are tasteless and dry and finally the newest menu has a feature of grilled snapper with lemongrass Chinese broccoli I'm confused about that are they trying to be a fusion restaurant? We had a large group of 14 here for a Friday lunch and the staff was absolutely outstanding - I was so impressed with how our waiter handled our crowd (it was a work lunch, so we weren't necessarily rowdy but there sure was a lot of conversations and chatting over each other!); all food ended up with the right person, drinks were always full, and he did it all with a smile and professionalism. This is what makes all Pappas establishments solid in my book - they not only produce delicious food, but they do it with care. Speaking of food, everything was delicious and portions were massive. Fair pricing for all you get, especially considering it is seafood. They go far beyond standard fried fare (but they have that, too, and its great) so take time to explore their unique menu. Our group of 10 had our celebration lunch here today. I visit Pappadeaux's quite often but it's rare that we get exceptional customer service like we did on today. Dwayne was our server and he did a great job! You would think that with a party as large as ours, that something was bound to be missed. Absolutely not! He got everyone's drink order, entrees and dessert orders all correct! He was very upbeat and very attentive! Our drinks stayed topped off and he came around at the appropriate times to ensure that all was well! He's been with Pappadeaux's for over 5 years and he knows he's good at what he does because he's old school...his words, not mine (LOL) Great service like this is what keeps the customer coming back. We had to have some self control and say no when the waiter offered to bring more... if we kept going I don't think we would have even touched the main course LOL. Calamari slaps per usual- an essential appetizer when dining here. The pasta Mardi Gras was delicious. They give a generous amount of seafood, with plenty of shrimp and crawfish throughout the dish. I tend to forget how solid Pappadeaux is. We came here as a group for a birthday and the reservation for the group was honored. The feel for the restaurant has been the same for decades now, and it feels cozy to walk into the approximation of an upscale New Orleans gastrobar. The food here, if you're getting the seafood Chef Selections, is always punching way above expectations for a chain restaurant. The fish is fresh and well prepared to my taste, and the sides come out well done enough to not lag behind. Plenty of butter helps. The fried foods are basically a can't miss option, but they are also done well and the portions are fairly generous. Getting fried gator and Cajun fondeaux apps are staples for me. Price point always seems a little high in my opinion, but it is what is. Service tends to be a bit slow, but helpful when I'm here. I ate there 3/4/26 during a banquet with a pharmaceutical company. I asked for a to go container so that I could take my food home. I opened the container to eat my food and the broccolini had a black rubber band around the bunch and a sliver of another rubberband all covered and sautéed in butter with the broccolini. t was very disgusting and I called and complained to a young manager who said she could give me another broccolini as if I would eat there again.
