Service was excellent. Friendly. Attentive. (And funny). Food was consistently good and on par with the Katz's brand. This location (a couple blocks from Memorial City Mall) is beautifully decorated and has plenty of parking. One thing to note: the "English muffin" looks more like a hamburger bun than a traditional English muffin you're used to seeing. That being said, it was still toasted well and delicious

I was really glad to see Katz open up in the neighborhood. It's great to have late-night options for those moments when you suddenly realize you're hungry out in the streets late at night. I've visited a few times already, but one visit stood out when I sat at the bar and Tristan was the bartender. The service was great, and I enjoyed a really tasty peach margarita. I've tried several food items so far, and everything has been just right for late-night snacking. Overall, the ambiance is inviting, friendly, and makes you want to come back

I had a wonderful experience at this location. I stopped in on a weekday off and I was seated right away. The decor reminds me of a fancy old Hollywood diner. The server was pleasant and friendly and I ordered the pastrami hash with scrambled eggs with a waffle on the side. I didn't wait long and my food came out hot, the waffle perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the middle. The maple syrup tasted authentic. The eggs were scrambled how I like it, not too runny, and the savory pastrami provided a good balance to the sweet waffle. The bathroom was clean which I appreciated. The music wasn't too loud and all the workers seemed pleasant. I'm glad we have added another good brunch spot on this side of town.

Visit here for a meet and greet. And ordered the waffle with ice cream. Yeah it's a hot fresh waffle for breakfast severe with vanilla ice cream. I ordered mines on the side. With hot maple syrup on the side. The first waffle was not hot as it should've been. They corrected it and replace the entire meal which was great. The tea was a little water down for one bag for the mug size. But it was great with two bags. Or either less water.

We love this new location! Especially when it's late night and you don't want fast food and something a little more mindful, Katzs is a great go-to! We went with breakfast for this visit and challah French toast is a as good as I remember it from 13 years ago when I worked at the montrose location! Service was amazing, everyone friendly but most importantly the hostess were so helpful when we arrived. My husband had a low blood sugar and although we had to wait for our table, the hostess did not hesitate to get him a soda while we waited so his blood sugar could go up. Will definitely be back again!

New Katz's location. Service and atmosphere: This is very modern restaurant that has great decor, comfortable seating arrangements, open bar and nice patio outside. The hostess got us a table, however, no waiting staff were told about our table. We waited for more than 10 minutes after being seated before we had to ask a staff member for attention. Not a good start. Food and drinks: The menu is extensive. There are a lot of options to choose from since they serve 24 hours a day. The variety of foods was really good. I opted for brisket egg Benedict. The eggs were poached nicely and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. We also ordered a burger that was tasty. Good seasoning and flavours all around. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages but the cocktails looked promising by looking at the cocktails list. Pricing: $$ average Houston prices and the food was worth it.

    * note: all proceeds went to Kerrville flood victims from today's preopening** Phenomenal experience at this NY style upscale deli opening this Tuesday in the Memorial area off I10. With Sinatra music playing and very comfortable booths to sit , you immediately can tell they have made an effort to have an ambiance set for comfort food. Matza bowl soup came out hot with just the right amount of saltiness .The blintz with blueberry compote were delicious and available for 2 or 4 pieces. My yelpie also had a Signature Reuben on rye with pastrami which was delish. They even treated us to a lemon Italian creme cake which is their signature dessert this month topped with blueberries and whipped creme. Scrumptious!! We even met owner Barry who took a few moments to tell us about his grandparents journey from NY to Texas and how this location is his 6 th in Htown. Open 24 hours . Definitely worth a visit!

Great to have them in this part of town! Went on their opening weekend and they seemed to be slammed in the kitchen so food was taking a bit to get out, but the service was wonderful! We got an appetizer and two mains and everything was tasty. Their coconut shrimp is one of our go tos. Tried their shrimp and grits, and pasta - no complaints. My usual from them are their sandwiches . Look forward to visiting them soon.

I've been waiting for this place to open for a while now so when I passed by and saw it was open we decided to go. We waited about 20 minutes for a table; not bad! The menu is huge, there were so many options. I ordered the Monte Cristo. While the taste was good, I was disappointed with the size of the sandwich. It might've been the smallest Monte Cristo I've ever had lol. It took forever for the food to come out, but our server apologized multiple times about the wait. He was extremely attentive and friendly. I think the service needs improvement. From my observation I don't think there were enough waitress on the floor. Other than the portion size and service I think I would come back.

Depending on the day and who your server is, you might have a good time. The food was really good. I had the 2 eggs and sausage w English muffin toasted. The sausage tasted like steak and the coffee was delicious and hot. My husband's order of avocado toast was well done as well. It was nice and tart, clean and fresh. The ambience is what to except on a Saturday morning. Stop by and try

Stopped in to this "Never Kloses" icon of a deli restaurant on our way into H-town for the weekend. Despite it being close to 11pm, this Memorial City location was pretty busy but we were seated almost immediately. Our server was friendly, albeit a little distracted - so I'm guessing he had more than a few tables to manage while we were there. The ticket times for our orders came relatively fast but he seemed to forget the little things, like our requests for silverware, lemon for the tea, extra ice. We had to ask more than once for each. I ordered the Katz Klub sandwich which came with turkey, bacon, fresh veggies and Russian (I believe) dressing and also came with a pickle on the side. It was a solid sandwich, although on the slightly over toasted wheat bread was a little dry, even with the dressing. While the sandwich was good, the pickle was great!.. perfectly cold and had a snap, and tasted super fresh. The breakfast items my family ordered were all very good. The waffle and ice cream were perfectly fine and were presented well on the plate. As well, the table ordered a plate of pancakes with sausage patties. The pancakes were very fluffy but the star of that plate was the sausage! The patties were seemingly done on a grill, were perfectly charred and even tasted smoked. They were fantastic! Overall, it was a nice late-night choice. the restaurant was clean and the price point was fair... and while the service was fine overall and the server was nice, he could have been a little more attentive.

This Memorial City location just launched its Grand Opening on 9/2, so I wanted to be the first to experience it. The location is already off to a strong start, providing plenty of parking for their guests, spacious indoor and outdoor seating, and the classic 1950s decor with a modern touch. The turnout was also impressive. My bartender/server, Tristan, handled the rush with ease, ensuring that my party felt well taken care of while staying positive, attentive and professional. Also the menu items were fairly priced. My order of French toast were soo velvety and paired with fresh toppings. Between the great quality food, strong drinks, and well-trained staff, I believe it was a successful opening. I'll check back in a month or two with an update.

If Heaven had a sandwich counter, it would be Katz Deli! The pastrami on rye is pure magic - juicy, smoky, stacked so high it feels like a towering skyscraper. The portions are MASSIVE, but somehow you always leave room for dessert. The staff is friendly and courteous and makes you feel right at home. For this visit, I went with the fried pickles (these are a must!) the meatball parm hero, and for dessert their monthly signature slice of the lemon cake. Every thing was excellent just like I expected. Food and service were both top notch. Tristian did an amazing job taking care of us and his guests behind the bar. This new location is beautiful and stunning on the inside. It was well worth the wait and I can't wait to come back!

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

As for the brisket sandwich, I thought it was good in terms of the meat, however, I must say it reminded me of sloppy joes too much. If I had to choose, I prefer getting the brisket sliced over chopped. As for the coleslaw, it was fresh and not too overwhelming with the mayo, which I love. The ratio of cabbages and carrots were evenly distributed. Lastly, the pecan pie was not too sweet and really soft yet crunchy. Overall, I would love to come here again, it was honestly one of the best!

The bread was perfectly toasted, the cold cuts sliced just right and tasty and the italian spread was the perfect condiment. I'm not normally a cold deli sandwich person, but would order this sandwich over and over again. Since I was solo dining, but wanted to try more than just the sandwich on my first visit I opted for a side of spaghetti and the italian sausage. Dumped the italian sausage on my spaghetti and it was like a small side entree. The sausage was the highlight, but the spaghetti was well cooked and the traditional marinara was flavorful. While I expected the restaurant to be a little more bustling at lunch time, it was a very comfortable experience in the bright open dining area with a great deal of Houston Sports Memorabilia on the walls. The chicken seems to be marinated to the chicken as it Marinara stuck really well and didn't create too much of a mess. The bread and the chicken were soft and easy to the bite which is an advantage this sandwich has over most. But the flavor was only slightly above average. I had originally wanted to come because I saw that they sold steaks for purchase you can bring home to cook. However, since it was lunchtime and we were already hungry, we decided to grab some lunch as well. We got the 3 meat combo with chicken, brisket, and ribs. It came with two sides and we chose coleslaw and chicken salad. I thought it was nice they had extra protein choices as sides. They also had a tuna salad and egg salad in addition to pasta salad, beans, potato salad and other options. The food came out quickly and the meats were all very tender. However, they just tasted salty. I had a hard time tasting any other spices/flavors which is what I'm accustomed to at other bbq places. The chicken salad was salty as well. It would've been tastier in a sandwich with some crisp greens versus just by itself. Coleslaw was average. Edible but nothing special. Husband thought it was too sweet. I do have to say the service was very friendly. The worker behind the counter gave us the impression that he really wanted to help and make us comfortable. When I found out they only sold bottled water, he offered to go to the back and grabbed us two cups of tap water, which was a nice gesture because he didn't have to. We ended up not getting any other meats because the unpackaged steaks looked dried out and sad in fridge. I wasn't sure if those were the pieces they would sell you or if they were just for display. But for $34.99/lb, I didn't want to risk them giving me the dried out looking steak. Overall, it seemed like people really like this place .
