Lunch Special 1/2 fried shrimp po boy with cup of seafood gumbo and drink $16
    Mike M.

I've been here twice to dine recently after having discovered it in Spring Branch. It's been many years since I dined at their Westheimer area location and back then I thought it was average. My first visit here was for lunch and I tried their lunch special of a 1/2 fried seafood po boy, cup of gumbo and a drink for $16. I opted for fried shrimp and a cup of seafood gumbo. While waiting about 10 minutes for the food, I looked at all of the interior decor most of which is sports oriented which gives this restaurant character. I liked the po boy. It was on very good bread (which I was told came from a Houston bakery) and with the fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato and remoulade sauce was tasty. The gumbo was ok but had a little spiciness flavor that wasn't my favorite. I prefer gumbo with a dark rich roux however it was served in a small bowl and was a larger portion than I expected. However I still graded the meal as a 4 as it was also reasonably priced. The next visit a week later was for dinner. Then I asked for the regular size fried catfish dinner ($15) and then added a side salad for $5 more. The salad arrived about 10 minutes later. It had diced carrots and cucumbers along with cherry tomatoes on a bed of lettuce. It was a nice looking and good tasting salad. While I was the eating the salad, another waitress brought me a small plate with one piece of fried catfish on it. She smiled at me and left. I had a mouth full of salad so I was unable to ask her what it was for. After finishing the salad, I tried to see my waitress that took my order but she disappeared for at least 15 minutes. Something didn't seem right and I didn't understand why that piece of fish was there. Maybe it was some lagniappe that they brought me to nibble on? Since it was getting cold, I broke off a couple of pieces and ate them. Finally almost 20 minutes after the fish was delivered my original waitress appeared and asked me if I wanted anything else? I looked at her puzzled and said "what do you mean? I am still waiting on my food". Somehow when I ordered my meal she thought that I wanted to substitute my sides of fries and hush puppies for the side salad! I have no idea how she came to that conclusion. It would have too long for them to redo my entree order with fresh catfish so I declined that and paid for my drink and salad and left. This tragedy could have been averted if she had not disappeared from me for 20 minutes. Poor service! (2). I am undecided if I will return.

We enjoyed our visit to this location of Ragin'....the RC po-boy special was amazing, half of a fried seafood po-boy ( I picked fried shrimp) and a cup of seafood gumbo and a drink was just what I was needing. The shrimp on the po-boy was fried just right and I got the sammy dressed out. The seafood gumbo was some of the best i've had lately, they have chicken and sausage too but the seafood was what I wanted today. My wife enjoyed her fried shrimp platter with fries done right and hush puppies. They make some tasty biegnets too. Picked me up an extra large black tee shirt with their logo on the back and large lettering on the front saying eat oysters love longer....I like it! We're already planninng our next visit. The people here are friendly and helpful.

*Please look at picture*. DO NOT SUPPORT! Mr. Dominic M., owner of Ragin Cajun is truly why I support small businesses just because they are local. What grown adult human man speaks to ANYONE like this, let alone as a professional. These owners want to bring their sloppy, mid-life crisis, business ideas into our community. To make a few bucks, and fulfill yet another pipe dream that brings ZERO (0) benefits to our community. Not only is the food subpar, you can tell they source their seafood from the cheapest source possible. I wouldn't even feed my dog this if I'm honest. Please share!

Location 1 years old I found it with Google search when I came to the area for windshield repair. The chargrilled oysters which are better than the ones at pappadeaux hands down ! The shrimp and grits entree was delightful I think I will try the roast beef and grits next time!! I'll definitely be back sooner than later ! Parking is plentiful and service was good . They have Weekend specials going on now 7$ hurricanes and 5 cups of gumbo. No automatic gratuity , Plenty of TVs for the big games and the patio is so inviting with the patio lights and have enclosures if bad weather. Yes give them a try !!

I'm so pleased that Ragin Cajun is finally open in Spring Branch. Just south of Longpoint, on Wirt, Ragin Cajun is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Open for just a few months, the restaurant is a great reflection of New Orleans architecture including a large, inviting patio. On our first visit, we enjoyed boudin, snow crab, a mufaletta sandwich and grilled oysters. All were good with my favorite being the sandwich. It's one of the best I've had in years. Drop in for a cold beer, cocktail and meal.

The mocktail made for me was expertly made even with my vague answer to her question of "what do you like"? Plus, it came in a super fun red fish cup (see in pictures). Unfortunately, I could not take the cup home but it was fun drinking out of it. The food from Hando next door was good for small bites while sipping on drinks; not too overwhelming and not underwhelming either in terms of size. I did think that the taste could be better though. Every dish felt like something was missing. Service was amazing. There was only one bartender when we visited with a party of eight and she took care of us masterfully.

The vibe inside is super cute with mood lighting and plenty of intimate seating spaced throughout. Parking in said shopping center is sparse. I'm not sure if parking is allowed at the neighboring businesses after hours, but I wanted to play it safe and ended up waiting about 15 minutes for someone to vacate their space. Our group had a couple of tables reserved and they had no problem having everyone pay on separate tabs. Service is offered both at the table and bar. Our waiter was attentive and had great recommendations for wine. When I was conflicted between two whites, he graciously brought me out both to taste and decide. I went with the Cacciabruco Malvasia/Trebbiano, which is a skin-contact white wine, so it had more of a reddish hue to it and almost looked like a rose in the dim lighting of the restaurant. I really liked this, as it was on the drier side and satisfied my palate more than the Gewürztraminer that I had also sampled. I didn't try the food but others in our party really liked the flatbreads they ordered. I do want to try these out next time because I know they will pair great with the wine! I'm glad I finally discovered this place! I'll definitely be back for happy hour and even a date night. With so many good places popping up in in Spring Branch, I'm sure this will become a regular spot for drinks before dinner

There are books abound, along the walls, in the bathroom, everywhere. I had a glass of Experience, a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a good pour, not too little or too much and the taste was deep, well balanced and smooth. Since the event took place around dinner time I also had a Fig and Speck flatbread. The fig, prosciutto and other toppings complimented each other well. The flatbread dough itself was ok but could've benefited from a little more flavor such as some garlic, butter and herbs. I also would've liked it a bit thinner so I could taste less of the bread and more of those delicious toppings. Don't get me wrong it was good and I ate all of it but these are small suggestions I'd recommend to bring it to perfection. I could see parking and seating being tricky. I was fortunate to snag a parking spot on the side of the building near the auto place and once inside I found a seat at a table with a lovely couple, another couple joined us soon after. Many of the guests who arrived later stood at first and then halfway through the event, made their way to the floor where they sat cross legged. All in all, The Library was a nice establishment and although a little out of my way, I'd return for another event or if I were in the area again.

My friend's band, Zenjii, had a live performance there. A power outage befell the establishment (thanks for nothing, Centerpoint!) so the show was switched from inside to the patio. I'll say that the patio is a bit on the gritty side but has a really cool, summertime-in-the-backyard kind of vibe. I was drawn to the numerous street signs and license plates that were strewn throughout. Thankfully, the weather was cooperative enough. I did have a chance to check the interior. While virtually pitch black, I was able to see some pinball machines and a pool table. On a normal day, the place is likely buzzing. If the patio presented itself as a place for tailgates and barbecues then the inside was a badass combination of dive bar, honky tonk, and punk rock club. And because I don't drink alcohol, I settled on a Mexican Coke, which was a decent $3.25. When I took my first sip, I was taken back to the summers of my youth when I went home to the Philippines after the school year. The opening of the bottle left a bit of a weird taste in my mouth so I decided to pour the rest in a complimentary plastic cup. And Coke - no matter what flavor it is - tastes better in a plastic cup, but that's a different story for another day. As for the staff, everyone from Becca to Jeremy is pretty cool. Even those who served me the Coke were down-to-Earth. They didn't ask me for ID. *Laughs* But seriously, Eighteen Ten Ojeman is a great place to pull up to in Spring Branch after you have some legit Korean BBQ, which the area is known for.

Reviews stated that they offer $10 Carajillos starting at 10pm and both Yelp and Google Maps showed them open until midnight. There was a gentleman working on the flooring, furniture being disassembled and lots of construction equipment outside. The seeming owner or manager reassured us to come in, however as soon as we took a seat we learned that they closed at 10pm. Ironically there was a young man assembling a large sign that states "open until 10pm" to prop outside. The bartender offered to make us a drink and since we had driven here just for this spot (I would call it a coffee shop and not really a bar), we agreed. The Carajillos were $15 and sadly, batched. Disappointing for a cocktail with only about two ingredients. We asked if they could add an orange peel garnish but unfortunately they were out. Definitely a one and done. Will not be back.
